I have a lot of ingame shinies. They've all arisen from various means: some were friend safari, some SOS chaining, some random encounters. The scariest one I ever found was a shiny Wooper in the Great Marsh. Thankfully I caught it on the first ball.

In game shinies I have no patience for hunting other than eggs, so I mostly found randoms. I found Ratata and Krabby in silver, poliwhirl in leafgreen, and a few in x/y. No luck so far in sun/moon.
Also, dumped 30 platyducks so far since starting the breeding, still looking for a kryduck. Finding a Scrappy Pangoro can be an adventure but you can always hunt with Smeargle. You can teach it any move in SuMo/USUM because it is found in the wild and one of its regular abilities is Own Tempo, there's a lot of pokes that can inflict confusion status. Also, to hunt ghost types, teach it Soak+False Swipe EDIT: Also, I dunno if you use the Harvest+Skill Swap method but I absolutely recommend it. Basically you have an Exeggute/Trevenant with the ability Harvest, teach it skill swap+bestow/switcheroo/trick and give it a leppa berry. Find the pokemon you want to hunt, swicheroo/bestow/trick the leppa berry to it and then skill swap. This way you can keep that pokemon for calls without it running out of PP

Sounds like we're talking Pokemon in-game strategy. Dang! You all are very much invested, eh?
Well, after my day today, I'm definitely invested in letting go of the real world and diving in to my Pokemon world. Especially since my eldest just randomly scored a shiny Fomantis. Gah! When the family luck stops short and you are left holding an empty bag.... *shifty eyes*Sorry. It's been a rough day for me. So, at least, I'm on the last task in my current explore. And it appears this legendary Pokemon has a rather bitter disposition (which matches mine for the day I think...). So if you happen by him, feel free to toss a Rawst berry his way. Perhaps both he and I will become less bitter. Hopefully... *smirk*

I had a dream last night that I found out a Popplio i hatched was shiny after evolving it to Primarina (I guess id somehow been super oblivious up to that point?). I was disappointed when I woke up and realized that as my DS is at school about a half hours drive away (im in college, home for the weekend), there was no way it was real.

...When did the Community Thread become a longer thing? I was last here in May 2017 and this is the first time I see a comm thread that's longer than monthly. o_O

The candies are back!!I guess I can "celebrate" Halloween by hunting shiny ghost/dark type pokemon?! Is it a good idea or nah? Grats, @Darky, for the awesome achievement. Platyduck is so cute, such a good idea for a pokemon. The creator should tweek the drawing to gamefreak hmmm. Oh, people, I know there' a thread for this but it's not being really helpful lately. Do someone have a spare Onyx Tear (r1, Malachite) and Lunala Notepaper (r2, Malachite), from the October set, they could trade? I don't know how I feel about the halloween candy thing. Since none of those exist where I live, I do not know how they taste, and I feel kind of lost trying to feed the correct candy to exploration pokemon. Could anyone list which candy equals to which berry?
