I'm getting a Wii for Christmas, and was wondering if it's worth getting PBR or not. The review I read on IGN said that there was lots of problems with the online stuff and that there wasn't anything to do on it appart from battling. I was just wondering if other people who own it found similar things, or if it's actually a good game and worth buying. Any comments would be much appreicated. Thanks.

Personally, I'd just rent it and see if you like it. The trainer customization was fun, especially making up your own lines. But sadly, there just isn't much to do aside from fighting random battles - which wouldn't be so bad expect for the most part, the battles are just way too easy. The A.I. just doesn't put up a good fight most of the time.
There are some good challenges, like with the Neon Colosseum which uses a roulette to determine your pokemon. The Stargazer Colosseum is like the ultimate one, where you'll fight the best the game has to offer. Other than that though, I really didn't find much challenge in this game at all. |

Neon Colosseum isn't a challenge. It's just annoying.
The game pretty much blows completely, so I agree with Mars Frog. It goes way too slow for pretty much nothing in the end, and the online random battles suck. -------------------- |

i'm not happy with it.
the only reason i still have it is for comp. battles, and even then, out of 100 battles, i only use it for mabye 2, tops. -------------------- |

I'm not really all that happy with it myself.
I got it because I heard it was something like pokemon stadium. That's true, but somehow it's lacking on what pokemon stadium had. It gets slow after a while. I do admit, I like the random online battles, and the surfing pikachu I got from it. So it's not a total loss. I don't recommend getting it unless you can copy Pokemon from Peral/Diamond because there isn't as much to do with the game otherwise. It's merely worth a rent. Nothing more.
Sunset Colosseum was a bitch. |

I like the arenas and prizes, but everything else is too easy. If harder people without ubers were more often on wi-fi, that would be much better.

The only thing I would use PBR for is to get the Electivire/Pikachu/Magmortar without having to train anything.
Didn't the Pikachu they give out have Surf or something? Did they even give out a Pikachu? |

PBR was enjoyable, but severely lacking and disappointing.
It's really just about the shiny 3D battles more than anything else, really, which do have some pretty nice visual effects. -------------------- |
