I just downloaded it and tested out Hold Hands in a double battle. Does absolutely nothing, just like Celebrate. Cute animation, though.

I read somewhere that it is similar to Helping Hand, but I prefer not to trust sources outside of Bulbapedia/Serebii. Unfortunately, Bulbapedia's page for the move doesn't really give any insight on any other effects of the move, if there are any, and Serebii only gives the basic game data. I was chatting with someone on tumblr who speculated that it boosts the power of happiness based moves (of which we currently only have one, unfortunately), and another person I follow speculated that it boosts happiness of the partner pokemon outright. Both sound plausible.
