I didn't see a topic for this (unless the Halloween Event topic counts, which I'm fairly sure doesn't)

So, what do you think of this exploration? I'm at 3/5, need more dry food fed to my sleeping Scyther.

They're not stuck, you can move them to your PC/release them. Only the Syther stays until near the end.

Yea, you have to obtain the Onyx after you've started the Exploration. Using an Onyx you already own won't work.

Meh. Flopside though: I got a red chest while mass clicking to hatch my new onix.
Flipside of that: It was a magma rock. I do NOT need a third heatran.
It made for a good 10k of points.

Either way, both Onix have roughly 7-8 levels to go

And yes eggs work, cos I hatched 2 Onix's... luckily I found an egg at 75% 8D

Yes this exploration is staying forever. I'm with you guys about not noticing though, I didn't notice the update notice next to the Halloween announcement. The only reason I found it is because I noticed Wymsy had posted in the Halloween event thread.

I think the site's slow due to the increased activity on the site. Normally its fine but better being slow than giving us 5 hour long 504 errors

The item tends to show, from my experience and a few others, after a random refresh and is less common when clicking. It might be a co-incidence, but it tends to happen.

It appears randomly, clicking or no XD I found the Celebi Corruption orb while clicking and I found the halloween one when I clicked on the Online User list ^.^' We'll see where this one appears

EDIT - YAAAAY! Found while clicking XD, so it appears to be I find my items when I click, sometimes when I go somewhere to start clicking ^.^'' 17th Finished

Edit 2 - ...XD NOW my item finding items are finding items. Just clicked my spike-eared pichu egg and it gave me a focus sash (shakes head) man oh man...

One reason why I use Chrome XD it doesn't crash on me, it just asks me if if I'd like to kill the pages (aka stop loading them) if they take a long time. That very rarely happens though

Thanks to this thread I stayed up late to finish this, and it's now totally way past my bedtime (lol five o'clock in the morning), but...um, I have a Spiky-Eared Pichu now? *shot* I totally didn't notice this exploration before seeing the thread so thanks XD

the lag was horrible (somehow it got better after a while?) and my Internet connection almost died halfway as well, but...it's cute? LOL.

Did you catch both onix AFTER you reached task 4? Cause if you use one you got from before the exploration it doesnt count.


But in other news... does anyone else have a lv 100 Scyther now?
I wanna finish my exploration tonight , in hopes of hatching the Pichu before the reset...
I should be allowed to keep it...

A couple of questions:

You can get them from the lab if you want, it doesn't matter.

I'm stuck on task 4, but am I right in understanding that this exploration is not today only, but lasting quite possibly the whole month of November?

BTW. I got both egg from the lab AFTER I started the exploration, have them currently leveled to 14 each and am now just hoping that the exploration does indeed extend into November. Otherwise I will have missed the chance for a Spily-Ear Pichu.

It is a normal exploration that you can take as long as you need for. Normal explorations don't a have a limit like monthly (or events like for Halloween) explorations, instead they have time periods before you can do it again (for Spiky-Eared Pichu, you have to wait 30 days before doing it again).

Still working on those Onix...but otherwise this exploration is much easier compared to the Celebi and Jirachi explorations. And this one is here permanently... wierd...for some reason I find it odd that you can get male spiky-eared pichus when in the games, it's normally supposed to always be female. Oh well....guess it doesn't matter since it's not breedable anyway.

Major fml moment. Earlier when I was hunting Onix's, I couldn't find any. NOTHING. The bastards were rarer than Arceus.

Then a while later I make a noob mistake, mistaking retard Rhyhorn for Onix in the lab. So I grabbed that and wanted to beat the shit out of myself.

Then later as I'm brisking along the shelter not expecting anything, I come across a couple lovely Onix's which I promptly grabbed and screamed loud enough to make my dumbass dog bark a storm.

You know something's off when you're excited about getting Onix...

Finally finished this quest this morning and released both my onix so I hope someone doing the exploration gets them. Since I finished it during November does that mean I wont be able to do anymore explorations in November or does it not count because it was a special one?

I have to say, I'm glad the Spiky-Eared Pichu event is finally up. Right now, I'm on the third of the five Tasks, with the sleeping Scyther. I'm guessing the next one I'll have to do will be the dreaded Item Hunt. Hopefully that one won't take too long, but I'm not hedging my bets on anything right now. I still have to wake up that Scyther, after all.

halfway through task 3/5. i've had luck in finding exploration items relatively quickly in the past, so i'm hoping that's the case with this one too. (though it's nice that this one doesn't have a time limit.)

My Onixs are at about level 28 or so right now. Only a few more levels.

I'm also on the Onix step and had to pull 2 eggs from the Shelter. I was hoping for some eggs already warmed up... but no such luck. Given that I heard they were hard to find, I went with the first 2 I found.

One of them is in the Walker and has a slight edge on the other which is being berry fed. Though, I admit, while I was on lunch I pulled the walker one into the party. It's about to go back to the walker though, once Prof. Cypress returns from the lil girls' room. *shifty eyes*

As for what I think of this explore... I can hardly wait to do it again... and again... and again. I luffs Pika.

One Onix is done. Less then a level left for the other one. Maybe I'll be really lucky and when I finish with Task 4/5 the Item for Task 5/5 will be there right after one click...if not then tomorrow I'll get it when I wake up hopefully. I'm only online for about 30 or so minutes, probably not enough time for the last task.

I've got 1 of the 2 Onix leveled up and keeping company with my party at the moment. The other is already at level 15 and I know I could get him up more if... I had more time. But the clock on the wall says it is time to go home so I'll pull him from the Walker and see if he gets anywhere between now and when next I return.

A major click day for me. It was fun. Looking forward to searching for this item come tomorrow and (hopefully) finishing before Hump Day.

One Onix hatched and the other's at 96%. Bleh. I'm going to release them both when I'm done with this as I already have a lv 100 Steelix so at least someone else can enjoy them.

Oh, and I'm doing my part breeding Onix eggs because my Crystal Steelix and Beldum are making tons of them...

I haven't heard anybody using a Crystal Onix. I would think you'd have to have a regular one.

so i just looked up info on the spiky eared pichu, because i dont watch the anime or the movies so i didnt know a thing about it

and apparently in the movie and in the games it is female only! but you are able to receive male and female here. i dont think it is able to breed or anything, so i wonder why it is available in both genders. it makes more sense to me to make them female only.

also it's impossible to get a legit shiny spiky-ear pichu in the games, but perfectly possible here. the one in the games is a very specific pichu (down to the very nature I believe), so we decided to make the ones here individuals.

No. Spiky-Eared Pichu can't breed at all. The only way to get them is from the exploration (or if someone drops theirs).

It is in the "No Egg" group so it shouldn't breed. But if one has been bred then I'd say it's either a glitch (like you said) or Admin influenced. Once rollover finishes I'll put mine in the Daycare with Ditto and see what happens.

EDIT: Well that didn't work :\ S-E Pichu and Ditto aren't even slightly interested in each other.

It cannot breed with anything. However, when it was first put in, I had forgotten to remove the default Pichu egg groups from it. So it was possible, during the first several hours, to breed it.

Ahhh, that makes sense...
Found my Berry Pouch with the first page after the reset, so just finished my exploration, so once it's hatched, it's time to lvl it to 100.
Deoxys Exploration here I come!
Also, for those who don't know, shiny spiky-eared pichu is supposed to look like regular shiny pichu, except with the spiky-ear. There was data for a shiny sprite in the game to avoid game crashes (I think) if a code was used to hack a shiny one. So unless the admins decide to color their own shiny sprite (which I doubt), don't expect a shiny SE Pichu to have some sort of special color like blue or something.

Something seems wrong. I got my Pichu egg, it's at full maturity. But it wont hatch.


EDIT: Never mind, I think I see what's wrong. It has to be an hour old as well...is that for all eggs? I never knew that, it would explain why this sort of thing has happened before.

Yep, all eggs have to be over 1hr old to be hatched. That or if you have a Flame Orb you can hatch them before the 1hr is up, if they reach full maturity.

It is a normal exploration, so it lasts forever. But if you finish it, you must wait 30 days to try it again.

Crystal Onix's don't count, because they are a different kind of Onix. You need two regular Onix's, though whatever means except for owned before you started the exploration.

I considered quitting YF on the Onix step for the Deoxys exploration, too, but decided to stick with it... see, we know this month is the last time we'll see Deoxys and Regigigas for a while, but YF will always be around. In my opinion, it wasn't a bad decision at all. Actually, a pretty good one, if Ironyman thought YF was eating into his monthly exploration time.

I think the best way to get the item you're looking for is just to click stuff on the site until you get it. It's not that hard to get it. Also, ItemFinder doesn't work for Exploration Items, so don't worry about that.

Progress Report: I'm finally done with the Exploration, and I got my Spiky-Eared Pichu. Here she is:

Now I'm on a Shiny Hunt for her best friend. Fortunately, I'm not on a time limit like the Super Hunt, but I hope it doesn't take too long just the same.

Yeah, that can get annoying sometimes. I was doing the Regigigas Exploration, and evolved my Lv.100 Pidgeotto only to have my memory jogged that I needed to get it after I began the exploration.

I had actually begun right after I finished the Halloween Exploration, but I quit to do the Regigigas one. Now I'm doing it again, and am actually doing better than the first time. So close to task 4, but I still need to hatch the two Onix for it.

Took me a while to level up those two onix to a little below 35, and now it turns out you have to obtain the onix after you start the exploration. I can't adopt any more from the shelter today either, I've used up all my shelter grabs.

Started this today at around 9:00 AM I think, I got to task 5 at 11:00 AM, so I should be done today. I forgot how easy this one was. I should have done it more, I just didn't really want to bother with it since I have the Pichu but it's an easy plus 1 for the achievement, plus it makes me more dedicated to clicking.

You find it randomly like other items on the site. For me, the best ways to find it are:

1) Buy Search Power Tier 3 in the Pass Powers shop and mass click until you find it.
2) Leave the site, wait a few hours, then come back.
