No more Weaviles... (click to show ) My team for Pokemon White consists of Excadrill (Lead/Sweeper), Carracosta (Tank), Zoroark (SubLead), Sigilyph (Annoyer), Alomomola (Healer), and Hydreigon (Special Attacker). I know having two Dark-types and two Water-types on the same team isn't a good idea, but this is the best team that seems to work as of now... Constructive criticism would be lovely~ *As a side note, this will hopefully be the last time I change my team... Excadrill (Ground/Steel) (click to show ) Carracosta (Rock/Water) (click to show ) Zoroark (Dark) (click to show ) Sigilyph (Phychic/Flying) (click to show ) Alomomola (Water) (click to show ) Hydreigon (Dragon/Dark) (click to show )

Sorry for the double post, but I need to bump this so I can get help. It's been one and a half months since I first posted this...

Well, I'm not much of a competitive rater, but X Scissor for Excadrill is good, also break through Wide Guard. why raise Special Attack for Excadrill? He's higher in Attack
Don't use Sandstorm for Carracosta, it'll hurt your other Pokemon You also shouldn't have two Water Types, both are weak to Grass and Electric (Costa is x4 weak to Grass) You should replace one or the other Ehh Sorry for the crappy rate, I'm new to this ^-^; -------------------- |

The only reason I have two water-types is because of the base stats. I need to keep Carracosta simply because of Sandstorm. Sandstorm won't last forever, and it won't hurt my Pokemon that much...
The next V Pokemon is Throh, which is absolutely horrible as a Healer. Next is Musharna, which is a phychic type. And then I'd have two psychic types. And I raised Attack, not Sp. Attack for Excadrill. And X-Scissor was one of the options under Brick Break My team weakness is Electric, Fighting, and Ground X4, and Grass and Bug X2. Everything else is X1, X0.5, X0.25, or X0.125. Water falls under X0.5, so it's not an overall threat to my team. -------------------- "I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. Looks pretty good, however the glaring weakness would be a commonly seen fighting types, like Breloom and Conkeldurr, even Scizor could pose a massive threat to the team, as 3 of your pokemon are weak to Fighting type moves and your only counter is a fragile Sigilyph, so a ghost type makes a strong case to be added.
Overall, I would rate it 7/10 -------------------- |

@monstre415
I apparently forgot to put this in the first post... This may be my team for the VGC Tournament, in which only Gen V Pokemon are allowed. So Breloom and Scizor are basically nonexistent, while Conkeldurr only poses a threat out of that list. But "fragile Sigilyph" has Wonder Guard ability, which protects against the majority of Fighting-type moves. Five will actually do damage to Sigilyph: Aura Sphere, Final Gambit, Focus Blast, Secret Sword, and Vacuum Wave. All the others are physical or boost stats. And Fighting, along with Electric and Ground are my two main weaknesses... -------------------- "I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. Guess I should have been more specific too lol
Wonder Guard O.o isn't its ability Magic Guard or Wonder Skin? As far as I know Magic Guard only effects indirect damage moves like weather effects, status damage, and leach seed etc. It has no effect on direct damage attacking moves. Anyway, from my experience most if not all Conkeldurr run Stone Edge/Rock Slide, so that's why I'm doubtful on Siligyph's ability to counter it. -------------------- |

..Epicmegadeathchristfail on my part... Magic Guard prevents all damage except from direct-attack moves...
So I gotta redo Sigilyph there... So yeah, Conkeldurr will pose a threat. According to here Sigilyph can also have Wonder Skin as well as Magic Guard. Apparently I combined the two names... GRRR... So I'm gonna redo Sigilyph now. This post has been edited by Darkness of Zoroark: Mar 28 2011, 04:39 PM -------------------- "I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. I just had a few thoughts, 1st off what is a VCG tournament? 2nd, I looked over your team and there was one Pokemon in particular who could sweep most of your team. That's Chandelure, he has super high Sp. Attack base, and most people train him in speed making him very deadly. I know your thinking he's only Ghost and Fire, but most people I've played with carry Chandelure w/ Energy Ball. That combined with the weakness, speed, and his Sp. Attack can put your team into a pickle. My suggestion to overlook that is to out-speed him because his speed isin't very high. Hope this helped. -------------------- All credit goes to Wyrdash for making these! I claim all Arcanines and Growlithes! |

I would have to disagree about Chandelure being a threat. Zoroark can OHKO it with a priority STAB Sucker Punch, Hydreigon walls its pretty well with its typing, and if its switches in on Excadrill its death by EQ or Rock Slide. Though 1 more thing I would like to add, is that Carracosta & Alomomola seem to be your main support/wall pokemon, however they are both taunt bait as they have no damage dealing moves, so maybe consider adding either Waterfall or Aqua Jet (for Carracosta) and some attack move for Alomomola? -------------------- |

To answer Chris0396's question, the VGC Tournament stand for "Video Game Championship Tournament," and is a world-wide contest to see who is the best competetive Pokemon battler. American teams tend to be more offensive, while Japanese teams tend to be more defensive.
I'll see about moves for the two. EDIT: For Carracosta, Sandstorm I 100% need to make Excadrill an effective lead. I guess Wide Guard isn't nessecary because only Excadrill has a multi-hit move (EQ). Iron Defense and Rest are essential to keep Carracosta alive, and in turn, Excadrill due to speed. Alomomola... Mirror Coat is technically an attacking move, being the Special Attack version of Revenge... Heal Pulse and Wish need to stay on so it can be my Healer, and Rest so it can continuously heal. So I'll work on a move for Carracosta. EDIT 2: So for Carracosta I'm thinking Aqua Tail or Aqua Jet... Aqua Jet attacks first, but it has a base power of 40... with 90 for Aqua Tail respectively. Carracosta has insanely low speed, so I'm not sure... Help? Attack, but either way they're both good moves for him. With his STAB, Aqua Tail would do high damage, but not the speed. Personally if it were me, I'd use Aqua tail for its' power. Since Carracosta is a big ass tank, he'd be able to survive most hits and finish them off w/ Aqua tail depending on your situation. Again, the decision is completely up to you. Hope I helped. -------------------- All credit goes to Wyrdash for making these! I claim all Arcanines and Growlithes! |

Carracosta has wayyyy better attack then Special Attack.
Personally, I would go with Aqua Jet over Aqua Tail. For obvious reason of priority and Aqua Tail's 90% accuracy. If you are really worried about the damage it would take from Excadrill's EQ, a possible option would be to remove EQ all together and replace it with X-scissor to give more type coverage. I tried it out and Excadrill works just fine in double battles without EQ, but its up to you. @Alomomola...Mirror Coat is the Special Attack version of Counter NOT Revenge so it would only reflect damage taken from Special Attacks and otherwise do absolutely nothing. So its left vulnerable to both taunt and physical attackers. EDIT: after looking over your team once more, you would want Jolly natured Excadrill (+ speed, -Special Attack) and Careful for Carracosta (+Special Def. -Special Attack) This post has been edited by monster415: Apr 1 2011, 10:56 PM -------------------- |

Chose Aqua Jet for Carracosta, and Waterfall for Alomomola. I changed the natures of Carracosta, Excadrill, and Alomomola as well.
Thanks for the help. -------------------- "I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are."
