Where did the time go? God, I remember the Dreamyard we had for the Gen 5 release. That was a huge deal! I remember my first Legendary Egg, my first Shiny, it seems like it was just yesterday...
Anyone else wanna feel old with me? -------------------- |

Wait, the Dreamyard sounds a little familiar. What was it again?
I remember my first event legendary was Mewtwo back in July '09, and I was super excited that I was lucky enough to get it. It took me 13 days to hatch it. -------------------- |

It was a special section of the shelter where the Gen 5 eggs were gradually released. I don't know how they coded it- because bred eggs would go there too, but only for Gen 5.

I remember being eligible for the Darkrai distribution because I didn't have a legendary yet. It was so exciting to check my party and the message boards every day, hoping to be blessed by the random number generator. Getting that Darkrai was an ecstatic experience. I recall Arceus Thrasher's Opera guides, the frenzied fun of mass-clicking despite all of the technical hurdles that were inherent to the process before the site's administrators added the wonderful built-in system we have now. Shiny hunting here always felt more fun than it did in the games, especially when you were breeding them, and it was so bittersweet to see when you produced a shiny in your breeding pair's history that someone else got.
I think I may have been in middle school when that all went down, if not a bit older, and I've got a bachelor's now. Still, the meditative yet entertaining gameplay is something I retain in my memories as one of my favorite past-times. |

Another 10+ year user here. Today was the first day I've logged in in a few years, and reading my anniversary messages in my mailbox was a surprise. I didn't realize I HAD been here for 10 years. it doesn't seem that long. I have so much to get caught up on from where I was gone, oi. HOnestly, I'm just glad to see GPX still around. I was afraid it had gone the way of the dinosaurs, and it was a pleasant surprise to see things still kicking.

As of today I can join in on this thread! Wow, 10 whole years and I still don't have a full dex or achievements. I was around for the old version of the site, but I can't remember what it looked like at all.
Also, I haven't posted in 8 years despite playing all the time. Hello! -------------------- |

Does anyone else really miss seeing egg percentages of maturity in the Shelter?

Does anyone else really miss seeing egg percentages of maturity in the Shelter? I liked picking up cracked eggies. Wait was that ever possible? Like, eggs could gain (or have) maturity and you could just claim them and (if hatch+ or something was active) immediately hatch them? That would be a very quick way to get shinies I obviously haven't been here for 10 years yet xD (I registered in 2012, but I only started being active in like, 2014) -------------------- |

I'm talking about eggs that were previously owned that were sent to the Shelter. Eggs gain maturity from clicks & views like always. -------------------- Avatar by Cycloneblaze at Cycloneshop II Banner by http://gpx.plus/user/eevee64 Banner by http://gpx.plus/user/Baymax |

I've been here 10 years too!! I thought it was only 8, but I just checked my profile. I guess I don't need to worry about not being welcome in this thread. ^o^ I've been erasing my accounts all over the web and came back here to check it out. I read all my posts and remembered a whole bunch of friends I made here. I'm a bit embarrassed by everything I wrote, but it's nice to see.
I also have a *lot* of progress over on GPX+ and I'm now playing again! Hopefully not too much, though. |

It's my turn to turn 10 years old too! I'm happy the website still lives on.
I remember when forums were a more popular thing all over internet and you would have your party in your signature. But most of my progress comes from the last couple years since I came back. So I don't regret anything, it's great nowadays too! |

A lot of people are "turning 10" now, we've talked about it on Discord, and it's a bizarre feeling... I do miss the excitement of the early days when finding a Ditto was my big achievement, haha.

I mostly just look back at what I used to post and really just cringe as to how my 11 year old self could have possibly thought these things were a good idea to post.
