Is the geometry more consistent? The one thing that bugs me in the GBA games is that castles are about 4 spaces, and when you go in them, they're more like a whole map. Will there be DLC, or will past units be unlocked as the story progresses, if there will be old units.

some of these questions can be solved by viewing the gameplay videos
also, I handwave the GBA thing by thinking that there's an entire segment of the full army with that specific unit. It makes more sense if you think of it that way, and it turns the castle raid into a sort of Vanguard mission because that doesn't quite apply. It's also because making it realistic in that sense would make this game a headache to play, so you can't take it too seriously if you have a dude that is the size of a house. It's just easier, and an interesting thing that FE GBA does is that when you engage in battle, it's almost as if you're zoomed in on their fight, so it's not like they do it to make it look cartoonish; it is just more convenient to map it like that for a grid-based turn-based strategy game like FE. Having that said, expect more FE9/10 style proportions. Not entirely proportional, but it works in the context that it exists. -------------------- |

No console system, so I'll have to watch a let's play to know anything about those games.

The Other-world gate, also known as the Dragon's Gate, leads to...Archanea, as found out in Fuuin no Tsugari, AKA 6. So, how does the world of 9 and 10 connect to all of the rest? Jugdral is in the same world as 1-3. We don't know if that's true, it's a bunch of speculation Don't double post, either -------------------- |

I was watching a playthrough of FE6, so that's where I got it. I'll have to experience it firsthand, though. Off to Vizzed once I get my computer back!

In one of the more exciting announcements from E3, Nintendo announced via Twitter that Fire Emblem: Awakening is coming to North America. Whether that means Fall 2012 or 2013, I'm not sure.

It's a monster to localize I would imagine, considering the sheer amounts of dialogue in this game

I read somewhere that the game will be out in America sometime next year. I forget where I saw this though... xP
Anyway, I'm a huge FE fan and been so since I first picked up Path of Radiance back in 09. Ike is my favorite character and one of my favorite video game characters ever. I just love him. <3 IkexElincia is also my favorite pairing. I hope I find some awesome canon pairings in Awakening. (yes, I admit to being a pairing nut as well lol) We'll also be getting the DLC. Confirmed characters for America so far are Marth, Roy, and Micaiah, but I imagine we'll at least get the other characters from games that were released internationally as well. I just wish Ike would get some damn artwork already. Characters that have already include: Ephraim Elincia Eirika Marth Lyn Celice Roy Alm Cellica Micaiah I'm surprised we haven't seen Sigurd and Hector yet as well. I thought they were effing popular. And if Elincia got art, Ike needs to get some as well. He is also pretty popular, at least outside of Japan (and guess what? Japan hates Lyn!). Has anyone heard the rumor that this final spotpass character, Paris, could be Ike? Because Paris was Ike's beta name- and there's no way in hell they won't release Ike.

Has anyone heard the rumor that this final spotpass character, Paris, could be Ike? Because Paris was Ike's beta name- and there's no way in hell they won't release Ike. Final? No way would they not release Hector and Sigurd either. They're two of the most popular characters. Fans would go nuts if they didn't come out. And what's more, Japan hates Lyn while everyone else likes her, so if she got in, Hector, Eliwood, and Sigurd should too, imo. But Paris is probably Ike since, as you said, that was the first name he was given (so doesn't fit him either. Glad they didn't keep it. Ike is a much cooler and more fitting name). -------------------- My art thread. Hector and Sigurd aren't spotpass. Paris is. Inverse, Emelina, Valhart, Gangrel, and Renha are all spotpass.

Hector and Sigurd aren't spotpass. Exactly what I'm saying. I'd be utterly surprised if they didn't get in. -------------------- My art thread. Click on my eggs and Pokemon and I may click yours too. ^^ And don't forget, Keldeo is the most adorable pony Pokemon ever. |

Hector is a nobody in the grand scheme of things, Sigurd being the first Lord to be mounted, fantastic, and die is something good going for him. But Ike is a good final DLC..
so Paris is Ike's descendent (descendent of the "Hero of the Blue Flames", aka Ike). Awesome. -------------------- |

so Paris is Ike's descendent (descendent of the "Hero of the Blue Flames", aka Ike). Awesome. That means Ike got married and had kids or Boyd and Mist had kids, making Paris her direct descendant. I'm going to lean towards the former, though, to keep the BoydxMist pairing optional. Hehe, I knew Ike would have a kid or two. He just seemed to me like the kind of guy who'd want to continue his father's legacy by passing on his skills to his own kid. -------------------- My art thread. I shipped FE13 with a Japanese 3DS and it was sent out today. Hopefully I'll be playing it by next week. I didn't get a tracking number though...

I'd rather play a game in a language that I understand, so of course, I'm waiting for the American version.
I theorize now that Paris is either Ike's grandson or great-grandson due to the resemblance, so since I'm planning for Ike and Elincia to have two children, a son and a daughter, in my FE writing, I'll say, if neccessary, that Paris is the son of Kael, who is the son of Ike. I doubt we'll know Paris's exact relation to Ike for sure though. IS seems to like letting us imagine things like this for ourselves, which I also like. -------------------- My art thread. Aren't you the person who couldn't take any criticism at SF about your writing and eventually left as a result? I read some of that stuff, it was pretty atrocious.
Ike x Elincia will never happen in a million years, if anything because of the fact that Ike prefers to stray from the life of nobility, as far as possible; marrying Elincia will lead to this sort of life no matter what the result. QUOTE I'd rather play a game in a language that I understand, so of course, I'm waiting for the American version. Years of playing ROMs before I knew how to patch pretty much gave me the ability to play Awakening flawlessly. It helps that FE has a couple failsafes if you pick the wrong option, and there exists a whole bunch of FAQs that can get you through some of the menus.Anyway the only thing I theorize is that Paris will have his own game... others theorize that Paris is a very distant descendent (5000ish years) of Ike, or at least the one that got Ike's primary genepool or something. But that is the only thing that can really make sense to us because the Great Flood really throws its own wrench into this unified timeline theory that is going around... I mean, Krom is Marth's 3000-year ancestor (also a theory that is cycling, but also the only one that makes sense) so it is not far-fetched. -------------------- |
