What do you think the best generation is? I know that 4th generation has better graphics and options but what do you think had better gameplay (exploration, etc.)
Then the next question is what gen is better in terms of pokemon. Like first gen has mew and those pokemon, 4th gen has arceus, dialga, etc. I said GAMEPLAY not GRAPHICS, please don't rate on what you think about which one has the best graphics, thats not the question! In terms of Pokčmon: 2 gen
In terms of gameplay/Graphics: 4 gen. What I think would be the best games ever: HeartGold and SoulSilver (well until the 5. gen comes.) -------------------- Uxie Anitarig Daisuke Weasley Sceptile Rika |

I firmly believe that the original 150 Pokemon are still the best and that Gold and Silver had the best gameplay.

Best gameplay has to be 2nd gen, can't wait 'till HGSS.
Best pokemon is the 4th gen. -------------------- |

I don't judge games only by graphics. Then don't put "/". "/" is not AND it means a combination. It also means there the same like "promotional/promo" This post has been edited by ThunderShard: Oct 4 2009, 01:00 PM -------------------- Avatar by Wishful Jirachi, Rhazze, Mazakala, Juanness, and Cyndaquil Cynadqul CDB, thanks! I like the 4th generation game the best, it's fun, plus, the graphics are nice (while some of the poses stink, personally) and the way to transfer pokemon from GBA games is genious.
I like the generation two pokemon the best though, because the first add-ons to pokemon were awesome. Plus, the starters are great in that game. -------------------- |

Hoenn had the best Pokemon and you know it. :B
But the first gen's gameplay is impossible to beat, I personally can't wait to get a copy of Leafgreen to re-live that experience. -------------------- |

For me, in terms of Pokemon, I like the 3rd Gen. For gameplay, it has to be the 2nd gen.

4th gen for gameplay, 1st for Pokemon. The original 151 are really nostalgic, and they have a good variety too. As for gameplay, 2nd would have won if it wasn't for HG/SS. I know D/P/P have the day/night system, but I think it's even cooler on G/S/C.

I've barely played any past second gen, but second gen had Espeon, so I'd say they have the best Pokemon... Or first. Not sure. =P It's hard to say in terms of game play, though, since I haven't played third gen much, or fourth gen at all. I can't vote, but thought I'd contribute to the discussion.

4th generation was the most enjoyable game for me. 1 and 2 was a little short, and I just think it had a tad more to do than 3.
Many of the pokemon I like just happen to be in 3rd for some reason... -------------------- |

2nd Generation was the best in all regards. Johto rocked.
Gameplay: 2nd > 3rd > 4th > 1st Pokemon: 2nd > 1st > 3rd > 4th 4th Gen was just plain bad; it's only the more-effective battling mechanics that keep me from hating it as a whole.... -------------------- |

For me it's simply that the 2nd generation had the best gameplay as it was pretty long and enjoyable. The 1st generation however had the best pokemon available and these pokemon are still pretty recognizable to me to this day.

Gaahh what to do... I said best gameplay as 1st, but now I think it's 2nd... ;_; but Pokemon definitely 2nd!
'Course 4th has the best graphics. Therefore asking about graphics is a stupid question. Why do people think graphics = gameplay? I remember whining about the time it takes to walk places in earlier generations... but I think they were actually faster for lack of graphics than later ones. Even if later ones walk faster they have to walk more distance, due to bigger maps... so I think that in the end it all evens out. ...But plot-wise, exploration-wise, definitely gen 2. It's like gen 1 and 2 put together! They're my favourite games of all time =] -------------------- |
