I caught a shiny Salamence on saphire
Then i cloned it on Emerald and now i have a lot of them up for trade :-D

I prefer the term "Shining"... more official ground in terms of canon.

I've only obtained a Shining Whismur in Gen3, and I kept it Whismur up to level 100. Gold and Silver was way different, I have 8 Shining Pokemon sitting on one of my games (I have a game that I don't restart, and one that I do).

I got a shiny Poochyena and Lugia in Emerald and shiny Pidgey in FireRed. Now I did a new game on FR and I'm trying to soft reset for a shiny Lapras... No luck yet. xD

I caught a shiny Whismur once in my h4x Sapphire (action replay was my friend). Then I used my billions of rare candies to level it up to a level 100 Shiny Exploud.

How do you get Shinies at all?
Do they just randomly pop up or do you need to do something to "trigger" them?

And how big is the chanse of getting a shiny?
Somewhere around the chanse of recruiting Kecelon al Lvl 1 with no Friend Bow in Pokemon: Mystery Dungeon - Red Rescue Team

I've captured a few shinies in gen 3.

Nidoran Female- I captured this cutie in the LeafGreen Safari Zone, and I was so terrified that it would flee, I could do nothing except toss Safari Balls. It took about 2-4 to capture, and now I've cloned it several times. It's bashful, but I love it.

Koffing (M)- Captured this one in FireRed's Pokemon Mansion on Cinnabar Island. I went there, specifically looking for a Raticate, but found a Shiny Koffing. I found out later that Raticate don't exist there anymore, like they did in yellow Version. All I had was one Master Ball, and one Pokeball at the time, and was too nervous to try to weaken it, so it's sitting comfortably in a Master Ball. Koffing has a Quiet nature, and has excellent IVs, and has been cloned several times.

Shuppet (M)- I was in a rush on my Emerald version to get to get to Mt. Pyre, when I stumbled across a shiny Shuppet. It has a Jolly nature, which is great for D/P Banette. =)

Also, I believe the shinyness ratio is 1/8192 or somewhere close to that, so finding one is pure luck (unless you chain them in D/P). It can also take quite a long time if you go searching for them...

I know dam well that I've ran in to over 10,000 wild pokemon in sapphire, Diamond, pearl, fire red and all of the Roms on VBA combined. And not one shiny has popped it's head up.

And yes, I am that addicted.

I caught a shiny Tentacool really early on in Emerald, before I'd even got to Fortree! Me and my brother also SR for a shiny Mewtwo on my Fire Red version, which we got after only about 200 attempts Seems I'm pretty lucky with shinies in Gen 3, which is more than I can say for that stupid Kadabra on Pearl.

In gen 3 I have only ever got 1 shiny:

Nidoran Female just before Mount Moon. I spent about (not kidding) 6 hours trying to find a Nidoran Male there and this l'il beauty showed up! She's now level 100 etc etc

I only have one Gen III Shiny, which is my shiny Tentacruel I found by the Water Labyrinth in LG as a Tentacool. I only caught it because it was shiny, I was worried it would run away. ^^'

in this generation, before i got to, like the third or second city, i found a shiny geodude on emerald, and on ruby, whilst seeking luvdiscs for their heart scales, a shiny corsola appeared, and i got it.

just for saying, before the geodude appeared, i was playing my pearl, and a shiny graveler appeared, the bastard self-destructed, so you can guess my glee when a geodude appeared XD

i caught a shiny oddish in safari zone on my emerald and cloned it alot. migrated the clones to diamond and restarted the game.

then, on my firered, i found a shiny pidgey. but it used whirlwind on me! so that kinda destroyed my day.. but after some days, i found a shiny nidoran ♂ in safari zone (again ^.^) and caught it. its now a nidoking in my diamond.

and the latest shiny i got is on my diamond. a shiny zubat thats evolved to crobat.

i find myself lucky with the safari zone shinies. but the oddish was difficult to catch... it took me 8 balls

I once caught a Shiny Linoone on Emerald. It was orange. Cool.

Then, while I was searching for a Relicanth, I found a Shiny green Chinchou. Unfortunately, my Gardevoir KO'ed it with a Critical Hit from Facade. And why would Gardevoir have any ATK what-so-ever?!? AGH!!!

I got a Shiny Wingull, evolved into Pellipper, in Sapphire a long time ago. Funny thing is, I was searching for a shiny Zigzagoon. I lost my Sapphire since then, but eh.

Emerald - 2 Shinies here, both unable to be caught Shiny Jynx in battle Factory, and Shiny Milotic in the Battle. . . Maze thing? The Seviper one.

I saw a shiny Regiice...but didn't know and fainted it, it kept using struggle because it didn't have any moves left,

I really want a shiny vulpix. A shiny Absol or tropius would be awesome too...but I'm pretty sure I'm a walking shiny repellent, played over 200 hours...and nothing....besides Regiice, but I don't think it counts since I saved the game before I battled it.

In FireRed version I found two shinies. A Machop in Rock Tunnel and a Nidorina on the route before Fushia City. It's funny because I got a shiny Nidorina in my Gold version too. XD I lost the Nidorina though because my batteries died before I could save it. But Machop was saved at least. <3 I evolved it to Machoke afterward, then put it onto my Diamond Version. He's been traded away though for a Shiny Rapidash...

I'm so mad... I have Ruby, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. In Ruby I've started over and beaten the E4 at least 4 times, Diamond I got for my birthday May 27 2007 and started a game on that day. It's my no-starting over game, and I have over 300 play time hours on it. Pearl is the same with Ruby, only I've played it (not completely beaten) more than 5 times, and Platinum I have about 150 hours on it. I got it March 22nd, the day it came out, and never started a new game. But have I ever found a legit shiny in the wild? NO. NEVER EVER. WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY GAMES?????

I caught a Shiny Torkoal when I was hunting for Grimer in Pokemon Emerald a few weeks back. I noticed the difference in color and decided to grab it, so I had to be delicate with it, luckily I decided to use my Grovyle's Fury Cutter, due to it's high defense, FC's low attack power and how Torkoal is resistant to bug moves. I just nicknamed it Mikey after Mikey from TMNT. As for now, I'm considering if I should Pal Park him or not to my copy of Platinum.

I found a Shiny Wingull while training on Emerald.

I also found a Shiny Zubat while going the long way round back to Cerulean City in LeafGreen, I didn't remember about the Underground Passes, but now I don't regret it.
Both shinies are on my Platinum game now. Its kinda odd that both shinies are green. o.o

My first Shiny was on victory rode. It was a zubat. Also that was m y first shiny out of 2 pearl games 2 platinum games 3 emerald games and 1 leaf green game I am very unlucky. but when I saw him I almost had a heart attack but 1 ultra ball captured him.

Its very strange.

I could only find Legit Shinies in my Emerald.
And they all appeared on Landmarks

Shiny Zubat-Shoal Cave

Shiny Graveler-Magma Cavern

Shiny Cascoon-Rustboro Forest

I now have a Shiny Crobat,Golem,and Dustox

Anyone know about this?

I went into the Desert Underpass on Emerald to look for a Ditto, and the first one I found was shiny! (I swear I was hyperventilating)
This guy's beast in double battles. Because now I can legitimately have any shiny Pokemon I want. :T

I saw a Shiny Pikachu in Emerald. But my luck wouldnt let me see it in the Safari Zone. I had to see it in the Battle Pyramid, where you cant use Pokeballs. *EPIC FAIL* May as well tell you about a funny story about how my best friend got a shiny zubat:
My best friend has played every single pokemon game, and has never seen a shiny. However, his little sister has, and caught a shiny zubat. So when she wasnt around, he traded it from her game to his, and she found out, he lied and said theres no way to trade it back. :P Very clever, very clever.

I just now started a new game in emerald, and the second zigzagoon I saw was shiny! I was litterally screaming, because I've never even seen a shiny before, except for once years ago when I was playing Gold, and I accidentally killed it because it was at such a low level...

Battle Fronteir is really pissing me off. First, the Battle Pyramid-Shiny Pikachu thing, but last last night I was at the Battle Factory, and one of my rental choices was...a shiny Roselia. T.T I was gonna rent it even if it wasnt shiny, but it was cool to battle with it for alittle bit, and I guess I did 'kinda' own it this time. Maybe next time Ill actually find a shiny in the WILD...

in my sapphire and in my emerald i found shiny tentacool the odd part i went to the same cave and found it in the same spot in both games (has to be done after you get kyogre) the orbs are a dull green

One of the first pokemon I found in my new emerald file was a shiny Zigzagoon. She has now evolved and I plan on training her to LV 100, just to say that I have a Lv 100 shiny .

The other day I was going through Victory Road in Leaf Green and I found and caught a shiny Machop. I had already had a machop but YAYZ! I wish I had room to train him, but alas my team is full and very well rounded for the Elite four. Plus they are ten levels away from being ready and I can't bare to give anyone up for my Machop.
I named him The Rock after Duane 'The Rock' Johnson because he's brown like an African American and The Rock was a wrestler so it fit

I once saw a shiny Electrike in my first time playing Ruby and it being my first time I had been more used to the shiney animation of the jhoto games so I cocked my head for a moment noticing it was dark blue but thought I might have been seeing things and ran from it. IDIOT

I have never had any Gameboy, and DS, nothing at all... But i had donwloaded them and played them on computer. I was playing Leaf Green (to the League, there i stopped), Fire red (woah, i don't ever know where did i stop), Emerald (right before League) and that's all maybe... (from the main games)
Statred playing pearl, but it ended up in the totally start.

But my friend had Leaf Green, and he was just going somewhere, on the 4th Island I think and he just got into water... When there a Pokemon attacked him! It was Shiny Tentacruel, that he succesfully caught into Ultra ball.

I personally never had caught a shiny T^T

I found a shiny Vulpix in the Battle Pyramid on Emerald >< Of course my first shiny I find is in one of the very few places where you wouldn't be able to catch it... Then I found a shiny Arcanine in the Battle Factory at level 100. >< bah!! My second shiny I wouldn't be able to even try to catch either!! >< Oh and I heard from this girl who said that a cheat for catching shiny Pokemon on the GBA games was to encounter the same Pokemon 40 times in a row... I've tried it twice, once I ran into 100 of the same pokemon all in a row, that one didn't work, then I went to the Artisan Cave and tried to find a shiny Smeargle but that didn't work either... Does the cheat even work peoplez???? Do you have to use it in a normal route/place where a different Pokemon could, at any time, force you to restart your quest for the shiny Pokemon of your choice???? Again, this girl said that it works and she *supposedly* has 500 billion shinies... in which every box of every Pokemon game she owns has all shinies in it.

Leafgreen: Zubat (WWWHHYHYYY!?!?!!?!?) I think some others, but I don't remember lol played LG alot.

Emerald: I think at least one, but I don't remember.
Found Geodude, Psyduck and others in Pearl. I've found man shiny Pokemon but I forget them all. I had a shiny Garchomp and Hippowdon.

This generation was the first time I caught a shiny {Excluding Red Gyrados because lol}

I remember that I was in Victory Road on my first playthrough {Or second? I'm not QUITE sure} and I came across a shiny Medicham.
At the time, I didn't even know what it was, only that it was a different colour and probably rare, so I caught it. I became a mascot of sorts on my team for a while. Then, a few years later when I discovered the internet, I told my friend about my 'blue Medicham', and she confirmed it to be a shiny. After that I looked it up, and...well, at least then I knew it was definitely rare.


Later one, I ended up finding a shiny Mediete in Pearl, which just made me laugh.
I seem to attract them.

Well, all of my shiny Pokemon I caught was 100% legit. In Fire Red, I was still a newbie on the whole Pokemon thing and was playing with my friend in the Safari Zone to see who can get a Chansey 1st. In my secret spot, I encountered a shiny Nidoran♀. I successfully caught it. I evolved it and used a moon stone to get a shiny Nidoqueen. Later, as I mentioned I was a newbie, I started a new game and bye-bye shiny Nidoqueen. In Ruby, I went to the Safari Zone at midnight to get a Pikachu with a Light Ball. Instead, I encountered a shiny Rhyhorn. I caught it in my 2nd Safari Ball! Later, I evolved it. Then, in Ruby again, I was going to the abandoned ship when a shiny Tentacool appeared. I had only high-level pokemon and 3 Ultra Ball(s) and the Master Ball so I threw 2 Ultra Balls. I caught it on the 3rd one. Then, I evolved it and trained it to lv.100, like my shiny Rhydon. Later, I bought an Emerald in the flea market. There was only hacked Pokemon so I started a new game. After getting all the badges, I went to the Victory Road where I encountered a shiny Hariyama (it was midnight in New Year's day). Luckily, I caught it with 1 Ultra Ball full health and it didn't used whirlwind. Finally, my friend pais me $10 to capture all the legends in Fire Red. While I caught the last one (mewtwo), I didn't had a Pokemon with Dig or an Escape Rod so I went to get out the old fashion way when all of a sudden, a shiny Ditto appeared! I let it transformed into a shiny horsea, which was in my friend's party. After that,, I threw an Ultra Ball and caught it! Then, I traded it to my Ruby, where all my shinies where. Painfully, my friend asked me to trade with him my Charmander that I hatched from an egg and while my Ruby game was saving, all of a sudden, It froze. I got worried and Resetted my game. While crying, my shinies where deleted!!!!! Ater what my friend's game did, I broke his game in pieces and flushed it down the toilet. Till this day, he owes me a 100% fully legit shiny Rhyhorn, Tentacruel, Hariyama, and Ditto. Then, i found my Leaf Green that my cousin lost. I decided to play that game since my friend is spending the whole Vacation trying to get all those shinies back. I passed the Elite 4. Then, I told my cousin that lost the game to help me find a Pokemon with stars. At first, I took her to Route 1. Then, I told her that I'll give her $20 if she finds a Pokemon with stars coming out. I showed her how by going to the battle tower in Leaf Green and battling the trainer with the shiny Espeon. Then she knew what was a shiny. Then, I took her back to Route 1 and to my Surprise, she encountered a shiny Pidgey!!!O_O I caught it with 3 Luxury balls. Then, I evolved it to a Pidgeotto then a Pidgeot. After training it on the Elite 4 to lv.100, I'm ready for my shinies from my friend and that it IS possible to find a shiny in 3 months or less.

Edit: 8/4/10 I got a shiny Torchic on my Deleted Ruby file

Anyway...

Ruby : Zigzagoon at the beginning of the game, right after getting the Pokéballs.

Sapphire : Zigzagoon again, which I've transfered to Diamond, but sadly the game erased the save, because I was attempting the Tweaking Glitch to get Darkrai

There was one time, I had an Action Replay. Believe or not, the only codes I add on it were Infinite Money and Infinite Items, since I didn't have Internet at the time. I was using my army of lvl 100 Linoone near the Weather Center on Route 119, when I got to see a Shiny Linoone. At the moment I saw the sparkles, I laugh like a mad man
Again, believe it or not, no shiny codes were used to get that Linoone.

I saw two shinies, and only managed to get one. I saw and caught a Shiny Wailmer on my Ruby version, and saw but ran and didn't see that it was shiny until after I ran away a shiny Poochyena. Never saw any other shinies since then.

Currently soft resetting for a shiny Mudkip starter. ^^; It's taking forever. Anyways, I've never caught any other shinies in R/S/E. I once caught a shiny Pidgeotto in Fire red; it was totally by accident, though, and I found it on one of the islands. I then traded it to Pearl, and later deleted the game.

I just caught a shiny Abra in LeafGreen a few minutes ago. I was just looking for an Abra to trade for Mr. Mime, and saw it. I had a miniature heart attack, I swear! I was panicking so much, that I'd accidentally KO it, but I managed not to, and it didn't Teleport away!
