I've always found Harvest Moon games fun, although I've never fully completed one. I've played quite a few through the use of Emulators and actually owning them. So I was just thinking, would anyone be interested in doing a Harvest Moon style RP? Not even sure if this kind of RP would work out properly or anything. Just thought it'd be a nice, casual 'just for fun' kinda RP where you can just sorta go with the flow.
So I have no ideas as of yet, well, I was thinking of something maybe based on the Tale of Two Towns Game, maybe. Or one of the others, I don't know. Was just wondering if a few people would be interested. |

I would definitely participate in an RP such as this! ^^
Harvest Moon is a favorite of mine, and I always enjoy playing it. I would help and be in something like this. c: |

No problem! ^^ Is there a certain game that you have in mind that this would take place in? Any would be fine with me, but I'm hoping it's from one that I've played. cx
And thank you! I also like your avatar. It's funny; though I have no clue what it's from. XD |

I've played a handful....
The one for GC, I think it's called Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. The Wii one which I cannot think of at the moment (I haven't played it for months) EDIT: I remembered! It's the Animal Parade. Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns. ^~These two I was obsessed with... Lol. This post has been edited by Quomimi: Jun 17 2013, 09:37 PM |

I've played a few. A Wonderful Life, Friends of Mineral Town, More Friends of Mineral Town, Magical Melody, DS, I briefly played Island of Happiness and Sunshine Islands. I didn't quite like the controls so I didn't play much. Also played Grand Bazaar and Tale of Two Towns.
Out of all of them I think the ones I liked the most were Grand Bazaar and A Tale of Two Towns. But it could just be a whole new setting and ideas. Quick edit: My avatar is from the movie Easy A. This post has been edited by Proddit: Jun 17 2013, 08:07 PM |

I watched my brother play Magical Melody... I always thought the players were chubby. cx
And I tried to play Sunshine Islands, but I never really got into it as I did Grand Bazaar and Tale of Two Towns. If we do have to pick between Grand Bazaar and Tale of Two Towns, I'd pick Grand Bazaar. Though, a plot would already be there in Tale of Two Towns. ... Is Easy A funny? |

Yeah A Tale of Two Towns already has a plot, and you can change things about. I just read about both games, it's been a while since I've played any. Tale of Two Towns would make more sense if more than one person wants a farm. So I'm edging a bit more towards that one at the moment. But we could also just make up a whole new story, or put both games together and change the plot a bit to fit in.
And yeah, it's quite a funny movie. I loved it, haha. |

Oh, this sounds interesting. The only Harvest Moon game I've played was Tree of Tranquility, and it was really fun. (Too bad I can't play it anymore because of a broken Wii...)
I would like to sign up for an RP like this, but I completely forgot how Harvest Moon works, besides the farming and herding. -------------------- Some Quotes (click to show ) While I decide what to do with this Signature thing, here is some shameless self-advertising: My Fanfiction Account I'd appreciate any feedback on my writing. I so want in on this! I've played Magical Melody, A Wonderful Life, Sunshine Islands and Animal Parade. MM and AP are my favorites, by far. I am semi-familiar with A Tale of Two Towns' plot, and I think it would fit well with RP style.

Yay, more people~!
If we do use Grand Bazaar/Tale of Two Towns, I though it may be able to go like this. The two towns exist on the both sides of the mountain as normal, and they don't like each other, as the main plot describes. Maybe instead of having cooking competitions, they have a 'grand bazaar' as to say. They have a bazaar split in half (Bluebell on one side, Konohana on the other) and they compete to see who can make the biggest profit or something like that. Yeah... cx |

That's a great idea! And because of how the games in general are set up, people could join as new farmers/shop owners at any time. The only thing I can see as being a concern is the currency system, but it should be fairly simple to work out.
Another plot point, besides the bazaar, could be to get the two towns in harmony again, so they can get along and work together. It's be interesting to see how friendships form between towns. -------------------- I prefer female pronouns, but I guess it doesn't really matter. I tumble a lot now. It's pretty great. Quomimi, I was JUST thinking that haha. A bazaar instead of a cooking competition would be much more fun. And yeah, I think we'd still need to make it out that somehow it helps the two towns get closer so that eventually the tunnel gets cleared.
And for currency, there's always the wiki to use as a reference on items and stuff. |

A Tale of Two Towns is a 3DS game, right? I haven't played it (yet), so please correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't one village dedicated to farming and the other to ranching? Then does that mean that characters are either ranchers or farmers, or would this be like (what I remember of) Tree of Tranquility where you could be both?

Yeah it's a DS/3DS one. And the main character in the game can grow and look after animals. But in Bluebell (The animal loving town) the farm has more space for animals, and in Konohana (Crop loving town) there's more space for growing crops.
I think there's 4 actual farms in the game. Then 2 pet shops, 2 cafes, 2 general stores and other buildings as well. |

Oh, I see, makes sense. Do you get to choose which town you start in? I would assume you do.
(Man, I'm starting to really want this game, but I really want a bunch of other 3DS games too, and there's no way I'll be allowed to buy more than one at a time. Ha ha.
