That was something along the lines of what I was talking about.

That is something handled by the individual roleplayers, not anything a mod can implement. Unless, of course, you have an idea how it can be implemented by a mod; I'd be interested in hearing that.

Although this is almost three weeks late, this is the idea I had:
In Team Magma, Team Aqua, and The Resistance, there are people given orders by those that are higher up on the "food chain" if you will. So, I was thinking that maybe the Pokemon could be given orders like the humans are given orders. The only difference would be that the Pokemon that are owned by the High Commander/Elder/whoever would issue the orders to the Pokemon that are owned by the other rper. -------------------- |

Pokemon are considered under the control of their trainer, and receive orders from their trainer and only their trainer. There may be officers in any of the factions who BELIEVE they can order another trainer's pokemon around, and there may be a sort of spy caste of pokemon who receive orders from pokemon higher up, but if a trainer is given a mission by an officer or higher, then the trainer's pokemon are on the same mission.
I think I see what you're saying, however. You would like to see an RP strictly from the pokemon's perspective, is that correct? If so, that is up to the player, and cannot/will not be implemented by the mod. (and, bear in mind, the trainer is considered the main character in the RP and therefore must participate to get any rank points.) -------------------- |

Have you people considered allowing users to find commonly used items throughout their adventures?
This idea dawned on me when I accidentally let Marcus find something of interest wrapped in tinfoil. If you do not allow this, I will edit my post immediately. -------------------- |

I would need you to define "commonly used items" before could TRY to make a determination on this. However, usually items, unless they are pretty powerful, aren't a problem. Certain ones, like evo stones, need approval, but otherwise it's OK.

The only things I can think of are Oran Berries, Healing Aids, and Regular Potions. Although I was planning on making said item a Magma Emblem near the end of the roleplay.
Eh, it's been a long time since I've done an RP as a member, so forgive me if my suggestions seems too high for a user of such status. This post has been edited by Marcus Felding: Jan 31 2010, 05:34 PM -------------------- |

I was thinking that maybe, since eventually people will end up getting level 100s and stuff, that they will want to train other, weaker pokemon but still have their stronger pokemon for hard missions. In that case we would need pc boxes to store pokemon.

How about a kind of Noverus Census that is updated every so often like the one for PANE. I don't know if it would be very useful, but I would enjoy knowing the statistics regardless.
I also had the idea for a trade thread (this suggestion might also be good for the PANE rp). In the thread, a trainer would post what pokemon he was looking to trade, sort of like an ad, and he might describe the pokemon that he was hoping to get. An example might be: Trainer: Daniel Worthington Pokemon: level 20 shedinja Type: Bug and Ghost Ability: Wonder Guard Nature: Hasty Attacks: Scratch, Harden, Leech Life, Sand Attack, Fury Swipes, Mind Reader Looking for: An electric type would be nice Other notes: Please hurry! I stares at me when I sleep! Another trainer would view the ad and if he was interested, the trade would be negotiated and roleplayed via pm. Then in the same trade thread the trade partner would make a post with the details of his pokemon that he is trading and the roleplay of the trade (maybe the roleplay would be under a spoiler to save space) Perhaps the final step could be mod approval of the trade? Or maybe mod approval would be better as soon as two people agreed to trade and before they roleplayed it out. I considered this because I would believe that with the wonders of stuff like the Global Trade Station and the internet that a trade should be able to occur between players who are not necessarily in the same roleplay at the time. Timewise, these trades might occur between roleplays. I might not have worked it all out in my head, but I wanted to at least propose the idea. :P -------------------- |

Census: I'll see what I can do. I make an announcement soon.
Trade thread: I'm iffy on this. This sounds like a good way to bypass the average level rule to get a higher level pokemon. Example: Person 1 trades a Lvl. 20 Shedinja for Person 2's Lvl 10 Elekid. Person 2's average level is 10; the Shedinja would raise that level without gaining RP levels. And can't exactly lower Shedinja's level to 10 either. The chances of having just the right levels would be slim. Besides, anything approved for trading would be approved for catching, so why not just catch? If you wanted to trade with someone, feel free to arrange something (with mod approval). Unless there's a large amount of people interested in such a thread, I don't see a need for it. -------------------- PANE Mod PANE x2 (click to show ) Credit for 2gamer's Seel of Approval (click to show ) |

Census: Organised by Faction and Rank would be nice :p
Trade thread: You don't need a thread for this. If Daniel wanted to trade away that Shedinja, I'm sure a mod would be happy to roleplay and trade for any Pokemon that you want that would normally be accepted in the capture request thread. If, however, you wanted to trade with another player, pm a mod and if the trade is considered fair, I'm sure we would allow it - we're very nice, really -------------------- Darryn Kellor ~ ~ PANE Moderator ~ ~ Lori Pardare PANE Characters (click to show ) LA's Plays (click to show ) Unovalocke (click to show ) |

Trade Thread: Yeah, I didn't think of all that. Your way is definitely better. -------------------- |

I was thinking that maybe a Partner Request Thread could be made for Uprising as well as it was for PANE. There could be a character that always partners up with the Player's character, or battles against him for some reason. It's just a thought that came to mind.

You are the third person to ask for this, but there hasn't been enough demand for a partner system. People are doing just fine with temp NPCs (or actual PCs). Unless more people speak up, that likely won't change.

Unless more people speak up, that likely won't change. Sorry if I'm late to this party. I'm interested in seeing this system implemented in Uprising. I hate having to call Lanette an NPC (I shudder at the term itself) since this doesn't feel like an NPC story. It's very much character-driven, and a partner system would allow for a better character development system without the need to create NPC's. Example: Lanette is Vincent's fiance. I want to give her official pokemon, and make it easier to tote her around with me in RPs. Can't do that too well with the current system without. In the RP team I'm with, I'm the only Aqua. I've had to make NPC's just to help me out. This system would create a good shortcut for me, and in the process allow me to mini-mod another character AND flesh out my real character's story in an orderly manner. Thoughts? I actually agree with Vince on this one. I was thinking of having another character in future RP's to develop more of a side-story for Kishk's past, making it easier to understand his actions and whatnot. A partner system would make this much easier if I decide to make this character have an important role in RP's I'm a part of.
