Do you have an object that you treat like it's a living thing (hold conversations with it, get mad at it when it doesn't work, etc.)?
When I was in elementary school, my best friend gave me a fuzzy white cat keychain. I was obsessed with that thing. I carried it to school every day in one of those cylinder shaped pencil sharpeners, made a tiny cardboard bed for it, and generally treated it like my baby. Unfortunately, because it was so tiny (about an inch tall), it was eventually lost by the same friend who gave it to me in a pond-related accident. I can't say that I am. Items are material things after all. They're meant to be used, bought and sold. Given the kind of childhood I had I'm shocked that I'm not a hoarder to be honest. At one point I had a massive collection of rare books, vintage video games, records, consoles, figures and more that was literally floor to ceiling and organized. Life happened and I sold all of it off. Moved so many times that having items is just too much of a pain to have. The only things I would care about would be my desktop and laptop at this point, but that's because they're useful tools for work/jobs.
