@Sweeter: Pretty much just echoing Silver here- the requirements probably ought to be upped a bit (but probably not by much), and the tasks increased in difficulty. Interaction tasks would be longer, berry feeding tasks would require more berries, that sort of thing. whoops you already fixed that before I could finish my post ahaha. Like I said- they could be a little harder, but I think they're relatively okay. I mean, it's not like you're trying to make another TBD here.

Thus far, the story itself is good. There are a few grammatical errors like with tenses and such scattered through it, but those can all be fixed pretty easily. :P The rest of the stuff that I noticed to fix was really just personal things to kind of make it flow better and/or put it into my style, so yeah, I won't really mention those much more than through this. XD

And now on to my exploration idea! I don't have any of it actually written yet since it's still kind of a conglomeration of ideas rolling around in my head, but I figured I'd post what I have figured out thus far.

... Get ready for a text wall. I'm eloquent. XD

This'll be another early-split explo like the one Silver has in the works for the lake trio, but this one will be for the Hoenn weather trio: Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza.

What I have thus far for it is this:

Task 1 would be the intro to the exploration (obviously)- you're a trainer living in Lilycove City (or Fortree, but I figured Lilycove would be more likely due to it being a relatively large city rather than an isolated tree town XD) and you've lived there for most of your life, growing up on the legend of the Weather Trio and the heroic trainer that did what they could to calm them. (basically the events in Emerald happened somewhere between ten and fifteen years prior to when this exploration is set, so you were a small child when it all happened) Said legend is widely taught and circulated in order to keep the same sort of thing from happening again- even more so around Fortree and Lilycove because of their proximity to Mt Pyre (also in Sootopolis but that won't really come up in the explo). I mean, really, you don't want to be screwing around with nature's balance. It kind of goes without saying.
Ever since you were a small child, you always liked learning about the legend, searching out as much information you could about each legendary Pokemon and learning about them, as well as (once you were old enough) regularly traveling to Mt Pyre to visit the old couple that guarded the orbs and chatting with them.

Anyway, as you're going about your daily routine, you notice a report from the Weather Institution on your TV talking about unusual weather patterns all across Hoenn - torrential downpours, sudden periods of incredibly strong sunlight and hot temperatures, gusts of wind stronger than anything normal (hurricane force possibly, but only single gusts at a time, never for any extended period of time). Now that you think about it, Lilycove has been weirdly sunny and hot for this time of year at a coastal town over the past couple days...

Suddenly, everything clicks in your mind. The legend you grew up reciting in school mentions often the strange weather patterns that accompanied the raging legendaries. Winds being tied to Rayquaza was never mentioned in the legend, but you figure that the rains for Kyogre and sunlight for Groudon is enough to send synapses sparking in your brain.

Quick as a flash, you decide to go to Mt Pyre to talk to the keepers of the orbs there and see if they have anything to say about the weird stuff happening.

The actual task would vary depending on whether or not you fly there (there could be gusts of wind surrounding Mt Pyre that prevent that), or whether you walk (interactions) and surf over (a water-type at a certain level). For the first one, it would only be one task; for the second, it would be split into two- the first one to explain everything and get to the water separating Mt Pyre from the route outside Lilycove, then the second one to send out your surfing Poke to get there.

Task 2/3 (according to whether it gets split or not) would have you reach Mt Pyre only to find the guardians of the orbs (the old couple from R/S/E) collapsed on the ground and all three orbs smashed to pieces. The orbs being destroyed is what sent the legendaries into a rage. The orbs are the least of your worries, however- you need to make sure that the guardians are still alive.

Obviously, they are- they just got knocked out. After a moment's recovery, they take you inside wherever they live (a homely little place inside Mt Pyre somewhere, obviously) with the shattered fragments of the orbs taken in with them to shield them from the elements. They shakily tell you that a lone person came in and blew past them, smashing the orbs for no visible reason, then knocking them out and leaving. They don't know who the person was or why they were there, only that they were clearly a few fries short of a Happy Meal. (I don't have this set in stone yet, but I'm thinking of maybe having it be one of the Team Galactic admins trying to continue Cyrus's plan. I don't remember which one it was, but I remember one of them being particularly weird. Cyrus couldn't do this himself since he's stuck in the Reverse World or whatever it's called. I'll have to do a little research to figure this out)

You're not sure where to go from here- there aren't any leads on the mysterious person, so the only choice you have now is to try and find one of the legendaries and calm them down to help restore balance. The guardians advise you that whichever legendary you decide to go after, to take its shattered orb with you. Chances are that the legendaries are so angry that without the orb, you wouldn't be able to get their attention before they just wiped you out.

Thus, your task for this one would be to choose one of three: Take the shattered red, blue, or green orb. Red for Groudon, blue for Kyogre, and green for Rayquaza, obviously.

That's where the story splits into three lines. I don't have much past this split, but here's what I have:

The next task, if you choose Groudon, would be to make your way to Lavaridge, where the volcano is rumbling and sort of half-erupting. (Not actually erupting, but spitting a little bit of stuff out nonetheless- like along the lines of what Death Mountain is like in the Legend of Zelda games) Winds would keep you from flying there, so you take land transport- a Dodrio. Dunno about the level, but I figure a Dodrio would be plenty fast for over land travel.
After that, once at the base of the volcano, another task would be that you'll need a Rock or Ground type (not sure which yet) and a Psychic type to get you to the top- the rock/ground to break rocks in the way and/or carry you up, and the Psychic type to shield you from any falling debris.

If you choose Kyogre, your next task would be to surf your way to Mossdeep City- another water type at a certain level.
You go to Mossdeep because you're not really sure where exactly Kyogre is, but you know it's somewhere around there. You ask around the city a little to see if the locals know anything, and with a little digging, you find that there's an underwater cavern not far off from Mossdeep and to the south (positioned almost equally far from Mossdeep, Sootopolis, and Evergrande), so your next task would be to have a diving Pokemon to take you down to it. Not sure which one that'd be at this point though. It'd be a specific water-type, I know that much.

Finally, if you choose Rayquaza, your next task would be to get a strong flier to get to the base of Sky Pillar. Being that Rayquaza hangs around at the top, the winds would be too strong for even your strong flier to get through, so you have to land at the base. I'm thinking for this one, it'll be a Fearow at a certain level. Fearow have large wingspans, so it should be able to maintain flight long enough to get to the Sky Pillar.
Once there, it'd be a fairly sizeable interaction task in order to make your way to the top- recall that in Emerald, once you've already been there once, the second time you go back there's a lot more debris on the floor and it's harder to climb. Said debris would only worsen over time, so you have to trail your way up Sky Pillar through that.

Past all of that, I'm not sure where to take it. I have a few vague ideas of the shattered orb catching the respective legendary's attention for long enough that it instructs you to place the pieces back together so that it will repair itself, and then you commune with it more once that's done. In the presence of the orb, the legendary is calmed enough to help.

As for the mention of the Galactic admin, I'm thinking that eventually you have to go talk to someone from Sinnoh and see if you can get more info from them- maybe Cynthia, since it's been shown that she travels around a bit, or the international agent on the trail of said admin. Eventually it'll have to culminate in something that ends up with the admin being caught, and the balance being restored.

Maybe by the end, the legendary you chose the path of was weakened enough that it would turn back into an egg for you to take care of? I'm not sure- the only really cemented parts are from the beginning to the journeys to the respective legendaries.

That sounds really good so far.

When it comes your story it seems like there might be a lot of detail that would need to work into about a 10-15 task exploration.
Going through what you said:

the task split is good at 2/3 cause that gives you plenty of time to give each story without rushing it.
As for where the story should go, that could probably head a few different ways:
Red is basically groudon -> which means you could chase around intense sunlight rays to like two different locations cause that would give you at least two pokemon tasks before the final task. This also gives room for berry feeding tasks and items. Same could go for Kyogre. As for Rayquaza with the winds, you could use the winds or maybe sightings to choose two locations before sky pillar, and save a least one task for the sky Pillar climb. You could probably use the last few task as a confrontation one if there is a villain featured in your exploration.


As for mine, I already posted what was going to be in the beginning so I'll give a overview of what I'm doing.

How my exploration starts out is that you are wandering in a snow blizzard and a bunch of thoughts are going through your mind kinda leading to what the exploration is about. As your energy leaves you, you are visited by 3 lights that are red, blue and yellow. After the lights greet you they float down and you reach out to one of them which would be task 2 or 3. Depending on which light you choose, decides which of the three stories you will be.


After that your play out the story that you choose, the first one could be Mesprit which is emotion, this story of course will be focused on regaining emotion, this could happen though a certain time and it cause the feelings to stop, where everything looked the same.

For Uxie the story would be focused around Knowledge, maybe a mistake that was made and something needs to be learned about it or a truth that needs to be revealed.

And lastly for Azelf, which would be Willpower, that could be Willpower something that is along the line of something that had one meaning to it but then when this vision or visit happens a new meaning comes out which changes the person for the better so that they will be able to handle it better.

now those are just stretches, for given ideas for each story and I'm always looking for ideas that could help turn these ideas into exploration stories with tasks, I'm already writing a story for Mesprit but I would need others for Uxie and Azelf.

What is different though is at the end they kinda all merge back into one story have a similar ending mostly likely being the spot where you click End the Exploration.

I look forward to other stories and ideas that other people come up with, so far these ideas and stories are looking good and could be expanded on with new ideas and opinions.

Hm, that does sound good, except perhaps the Rayquaza one. The thing with that is that, with 'you' being such an aficionado of the legend, you would know straight away where Rayquaza usually hangs out: the Sky Pillar. However, a way around that could be that you try to fly directly to the top, but get blown away by the winds, and your Fearow gets pretty badly beat up by the crash landing. That'd leave a berry task for you before you attempt to climb up the Sky Pillar. So basically: Fearow task to try to fly there, feeding task to help it heal, then climb the Sky Pillar.
(Or perhaps an exploration item task in place of the berry feeding one- part of the orb could have gotten knocked loose from whatever you're carrying it in when you crash landed, so you have to find it)

As for Groudon and Kyogre, the first task following them could be the same- go to the Weather Institution to see where the sunlight or downpours seem to be concentrated the most, then go from there. For Groudon, Dodrio could get exhausted before you get to Lavaridge, requiring a berry feeding task, and for Kyogre... surf around the area for a bit and not find anything (surfing Poke), go to Mossdeep (interactions), and get your diving Pokemon plus maybe a few items for 'preparation'? The item thing could be split up when you try to dive first and realize that whoops, you can't breathe underwater. Dunno what items you'd need though...

Villain confrontation: That's what I figured, but I'm not sure how I'm going to go about doing that yet, so it'll require some more thought.

@Lake trio thoughts: Maybe instead of the lights turning into orbs, they could coalesce into chains of the same colours- thus tying it in to the D/P/Pt stuff, and still be something physical to grab on to. Part of me is kind of not liking the orb thing because of parallels with the Hoenn stuff- the red and blue ones matching, basically. It's all just symbolism in here, I know, but still. :P

Uxie: Expanding on the idea of a mistake, perhaps 'your' difficulty and reason for trudging through the snow would be that you've made such a bad mistake that it's eating you up inside, and Uxie teaches you that not everything ended after your mistake, and that some things can still be turned around. Granted, there would still be consequences to the actions of your mistake, but things can get better. Technically this is more 'wisdom' centred and knowledge =/= wisdom, but for the exploration I think you could pull it off.

Azelf: Again, 'you' could be struggling with a problem, or a big decision that you need to make, but what you know is the right thing to do requires you to do some difficult things, whether physically or mentally. Azelf could show you that, despite the seen difficulty, with willpower and perseverance it's not as hard as you thought.

I dunno, these're still pretty nebulous ideas, but hopefully that'll give you a little more to work with.

Okay, well, turns out inspiration struck (again) while I was out getting ice cream at Dairy Queen with mum, so here's what I have.

So remember what I said in my first post about not really being sure what would happen after first getting to the legendaries, fixing their orb, and 'communing'? Well, solved that.

Once the orb has been made whole again, the legendary calms enough to speak to you. The general thanks and stuff goes on, but then there's an exchange of information: the legendary doesn't know what happened after their orb got smashed because it made this primal rage take them and they don't really remember all too much (or if they do, it's detached, like they were watching some other Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza do all the stuff they did) so you tell them about what happened at the top of Mt Pyre, about the mysterious dude that came and screwed everything up (repeating a vague description the old couple gave you of whatever Galactic admin it is). The legendary considers this, and when you ask what to do next, whether you should try to take the other shattered orbs to their respective legendaries, it responds in the negative. It tells you to go find out more about this mysterious baddie, and that it will go try to calm Groudon and Kyogre (if it's Rayquaza)/go appeal to Rayquaza (if it's Groudon/Kyogre- because seriously, the feud those two have going is probably still kind of there even if it is kind of a friendly rivalry normally. Even so, with the rage they're all in, said 'friendly rivalry' part would be forgotten in favour of "I HATE YOU RAHHHH"). It walks/swims (Kyogre would probably take you as far as the surface since whatever cave it was in would probably collapse when it left)/flies off before you have a chance to ask how to do that since you don't have much to go on.

After a moment's thought, you remember something about some important person from Sinnoh visiting the Hoenn region, and wouldn't you know it, they're staying in your home town of Lilycove. Thus, the task from here would be to make your way back to Lilycove City. Depending on which branch you're on, the method would vary - fly back on your Fearow for Rayquaza, surf back on your water Poke for Kyogre, or run back on your Dodrio. Depending on how far away Lilycove would be from each of those places, the interaction count would vary somewhat as well.

Once you arrive in Lilycove, you go to the hotel there to have a talk with Cynthia. There would be a little hassle from the hotel staff because Cynthia is one important lady and I'm sure she wouldn't want to be disturbed by common trainers, but you would show off your newly repaired orb and it'd be enough to shut them up. Once inside, you explain what's happened to her (showing her the orb as proof) and repeat the description of the baddie to her as well. She recognizes them as the Galactic admin, and tells you that he is probably going to try and continue his marooned boss's plans to remake the world (except obviously this would be physically rather than unmaking this world and making a new one like Cyrus's original plan with Palkia and Dialga).

I'm not sure what the next task or two would be (I think at some point I want 'you' to go back to Mt Pyre to grab the other two shattered orbs), but eventually you end up in Evergrande City (the half by the Pokemon League, not Victory Road) to find the Galactic admin already there... with Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza in tow. He has some machine or something that keeps them under his thumb, and even the presence of all three orbs can't snap them out of it. You have no other choice but to battle him- thus the task would be a battle against him in the BT with Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza as his Pokemon. 76-100 and 3 Pokemon, obviously.

Once the battle is won and the legendaries are all knocked out/exhausted, you manage to get whatever gizmo is keeping them under the admin's control away from him and smash it. The admin tries to get away, but right at that point, Cynthia would fly in with Finder or whatever the international agent's name is, and he would arrest the admin. After they have left, you approach the legendary that you first befriended, worried that you inadvertently battled too hard and injured them too much.

As you approach, however, the three orbs pulse brightly, the light rebounding off of the legendaries and causing them to glow as well (markings first, then the rest of their body). The legendary you originally went to opens their eyes and reassures you that it's okay. They're just going to rest for a while, that's all - you gave them a good battle, and now they trust you to keep them safe. With that, the glow brightens to blinding, and the next thing you know, there's three eggs sitting where the legendaries were.

The very last task would be an interaction one: take the eggs and orbs back to Mt Pyre to leave with the guardians there. Once there, however, they only take two of the eggs, letting you keep the one for the legendary you went to first. They're only two people, after all, and besides, they're getting the feeling that that egg wants to stay with you.
And so you return home with your legendary egg. Yay happy ending!

So yeah, that's what I've got. :U

That sounds good you just need a story now to back that up with, along with what tasks could possibly accompany each parts of those stories like if there is a confrontation either a battle in battle tower or a pokemon leveling task. There would probably be a few pokemon leveling or obtaining tasks since the places jump a bit.

As for your suggestions for mine, i will definitively keep those in mind when writing my three separate stories, since those give me a few ideas of what could each story be focused on. Cause one thing that I don't want is each story is different but I don't want them all to be closely the same cause that defeats the purpose of each individual story. Thanks for the feed back.

Well, with what I've got described there, it seems like the three different paths won't differ all that much after you actually find the respective legendary, but they do still differ a little bit... so they do merge back relatively quickly, but I think it'll still be okay.

Aaaaand if all goes well, I'll probably start writing it out sometime soon. I have something that I need to draw and finish before Wednesday, so I may focus on that first, but hopefully I'll start writing soonish.

Another thing I thought of is, well... what will the powers that be do once there is an exploration for all (or most, at least, since I can't see Arceus having an exploration anytime soon) of the normally unobtainable legends? Will they make ones for summonable legends, or for their respective summoning items, or just completely leave them out of the exploration roster? Just something I'm sort of curious as to what they'll end up doing, I suppose.
I have to make sure to temper my delusions of grandeur with this thought, ahaha XD since chances are that the powers that be won't be making summonable legendary explorations anytime soon, if at all

I've been coming up with a couple other explorations. I'm still brainstorming stuff. One of them involves getting five random Battle Gems you don't have yet or just five random ones if you have them all, and the other I'm not sure about. I'm thinking either for a novelty or a new item. For the second one the main character is transported to a strange dimension where some Pokemon are enslaved and forced to hurt innocent Pokemon. The slave master owns a Hydreigon but I don't know if it's gonna be a special one or not. I have some task ideas:

Task 1: Item-finding
Task 2: Interaction (when you're transported)
Task 3: Have an Infernape in your party
Task 4: Have Infernape win a battle in the Vs. Seeker
Task 5: Have 85 people feed Infernape a Cheri Berry (it wins but it gets paralyzed in the process
(I'm not sure how many other tasks will be in between)
Task ??: Have a Dragonite and a Pinsir, at level 65 or higher, in your party

And that's all I have thought of so far.

I love the idea of different paths. That'd make doing explorations several times a lot less...hm, boring isn't the right word, since I still enjoy doing them, but you get the idea. And I love reading the stories, so I'd love to be able to have different story paths.

@Doctor Octopus - thanks, yes they will have similiar to each other but yet different in the sense of a different setting or a different time, with a different goal maybe. As for what could come for explorations after one is done for ever unsummonable legendary, they could possibly do ones for summonables, one for items that are had to obtain(like a blue stone, the battle gems/items) maybe even have a new item that gives something new to the site. I'm sure when that time comes new ideas will come out on what explorations people could do.

@Sweeter - that is a interesting story idea, and its something new, you could have a story like that stretch though 9 - 12 task depending on what the setting is and what happens. As i can see now, you have a main character transport so that's a good few interaction tasks, then pokemon tasks to fight others berry feeding tasks to heal injured pokemon, maybe a item finding task to find a key or key item for something, and also battle tower battles going against the top person or maybe if the characters runs into any other threats. As for a reward that could be offered for it, that I wouldn't know at the moment but a new novelty or a new item sounds good. Nice job, if you write out a exploration story for this, i look forward to reading it.

Just out of curiosity, I know you're working on an exploration for the lake trio. What happens if the admins already have something for the same ones, or had someone do one? Do you have to stop working on it or would they either incorporate yours or use yours completely?

I was thinking of starting a google doc to store all these story ideas, that way people can read them without sifting through posts. Would people be okay with that?

You see, there is really nothing that says these ideas or stories will be used. There is always hope that, something like that could happen but people writing these explorations(myself included) I would think could be doing it cause maybe they love to write, or they had an idea for a exploration story idea for something that was already done or hasn't been done yet and would like to get it out there for other people to read and get opinions on it.


Also if the time comes where new ideas need to be brought up for explorations people could look here and get them. And even if the admins/contributors already have one done for the site, i don't believe it would hurt to share an story or idea if you have a different one than what is out already. Stories are always fun to read, and some fun comes in writing/creating the story, which having fun is one aspects of this group.


As for the doc idea might be a good idea, and its something that could probably be tested out to see if it makes reading the stories more easier.

looks good so far except you need to change the requirements for the exploration i did, since there was none and it can't be one time anyways since you need to embark on it at least 3 times to get each lake legendary, the only requirements that were listed where those from Sweeter's exploration, if i could edit it myself i would but i can't since its only in view only. Other than that it looks pretty good.

Its alright now that the list is updated, now it can be edited whenever there are new stories or ideas are shared, it should help keep things more organized and i thank you for bring up the idea and making the list out.

As for the exploration update for my story: I'm still working on the emotion storyline it seems like I'm making each task a bit too long and too detailed. i need to reword a few things and make a few changes to shorten it as well so it isn't over 20 tasks xD which shouldn't be a problem.
