Do novelty versions of the Pokemon asked for in the gym achievements count, or can it only be the regular Pokemon? i.e. a lv 100 summer Piloswine counts as a Piloswine towards the Glacier and Icicle badges, fossils count for their regular equivalents in Coal Badge and Boulder Badge Plus. Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. No, they don't, because even though they're a novelty form of the Pokemon they're still an entirely different species. Achievements are very specific about what you need, so if you need a Piloswine, you need a Piloswine. Unless it says "or any of it's evolutions." Before this got closed, the only 'exception' would be to use a shiny. Shinies do count towards badges.

Achievement requirements are spelled word for word. If they're asking for a Piloswine, they want a Piloswine, not the summer variant.
But as the above poster said, shinies work as well. And that's the only exception. -------------------- |
