Lolz, I guess they toned down in Johto once the Japanese people found out that Pokemon in Kanto seemed too... violent for the kids in the western.

I don't see what's so illegal about it, Gym Leaders have their own battling methods, it just seems that the ones in Kanto were too brutal, so to speak... Giovanni was a Team Rocket leader, he can use whatever he wants and at the time he used Mewtwo, you can say, anything that happened inside that Gym will never get out.

But hey it's less violent now, right? But kinda boring now though... ;x

What do you mean it's not illegal?

First i think a threat of death on blaine and koga's gym is illegal. Though it explains why they were empty. As for mewtwo he attacked humans. That's a no-no. I think the league was scared of sabrina though.

Maybe it is fake lava like just warm but would not kill him he s supose to be very smart

When you realize that the Poke'mon are using attacks like "Flamethrower", "Flamewheel", "Overheat", ect, why not have real lava?

The justice system in the Pokemon world, definitely needs some work. People get away with way too much. Also, there are hardly ever any police around. Occasionally, there are more police than just a Officer Jenny.

Yeah, when there's one (or fewer) police officer in each town, things tend to get out of hand.

I thought this got a bit funny in Platinum.
There's this one police/detective guy working on the Galactic-case and he frequently left the place as he decided it was better to send my 10-year old character to deal with them. Either that or he showed up too late confused.gif

LOL The gyms are bad but the pokemon are worse really. There's only a painted line on the ground sometimes separating the Pokemon from the trainers not to mention some trainers were it with various attack that could literally kill or seriously injure them and nothing >> If the leaders pokemon are supposed to be so powerful you'd expect there to be more trainer to be in the hospital. that's what irks me.

Possibly Pokemon attacks aren't as effective against humans? Pikachu sure shocked Ash a lot, and he never even developed a twitch.

If you'll remember, blaine's old gym fell into ruins, so the league thought that was the end of it. They weren't aware that Blaine built another Gym inside a volcano.

Sabrina probably got split in two parts not long before Ash showed up, and he was the first one she fought and turned into a doll. So the league wasn't aware of it. (Sensing a pattern here?)

In the world of Pokemon, teens are amazing! So adults feel they need to be challenged a bit! grin.gif
