Has anyone read that comic? Maybe someone who wants to discuss it...
Please, if you have something rude to say about JTHM, or Jhonen Vasquez, keep it to yourself. -------------------- http://gpxplus.net/user/Zim

I read it. Although I think it was over-rated a bit, it did have its moments and definitely some good lines ("Realize it's just a man, not worth devoting any nightmares too" is my favorite).
I'm kind of wondering if Johnny could possinly be bipolar? He shows a few symptoms of it, at least. You got any favorite characters? I like Squee. -------------------- |

Nny has always been my favorite. I think he's just so intelligent.
A strong second is Squee. I also like Devi. That part where she kicked Johnny's butt then ran off, had me laughing out loud. -------------------- http://gpxplus.net/user/Zim

Nny is certainly profound, for lack of a better word. XD Gotta love 'em.
There was another character I really liked, she only showed up for one comic and on cameo in Invader Zim. I think her name was Terra? I can't quite remember. She was the one who was escaping in the issue when Johnny died. She made me laugh. -------------------- |

Cool name too~ The one where Gaz needed batteries. Tess was the purple-haired store clerk with the glasses. This post has been edited by Ugly: Apr 1 2009, 07:18 AM -------------------- |

My friend lent me one on a plane ride once like four years ago. I found it intriguing but I haven't been able to find it since. Of course, I haven't looked particularly hard. xD I love Vasquez's style!

Oh wow, JTHM, that takes me back. I used to be a fanatic.
Oh hell, I'm still a fanatic. Just, got wrapped up in some other comic books as of late-- Wormwood for example. Anyhoo, I adored it when it first came out. I used to walk all the way down to the comic book store in town about three blocks from my house to get the latest issues, that is, until the Director's Cut came out. <333 Tess was amazing, I loved how Jhonen could appreciate strong female characters. Anybody remember that classic issue when Devi beat Nny crapless and shoved his face into the mirror? I though that was nothing short of amazing-- she had to be the FIRST and only character to ever get anything in on Johnny. -------------------- _____________________________________________ _____________________________________________ Life In A Nude Erection MY PARTY [DEVIANTART] [TUMBLR] [TWITTER] _____________________________________________ |

Mmm one of the first things I ever bought when I got my first job.
I liked it immensely when I first read it, though now that I'm older I think I'm more inclined towards his later works, especially I feel Sick. If you're a fan of Devi, I recommend you give it a read. -------------------- |

A friend of mine is obsessed with Jhonen Vasquez, so I borrowed one of the comics from him a few years ago. I'm not into super violent stuff, though, so I didn't actually enjoy it that much.
Happy Noodle Boy, on the other hand, made me laugh a lot. I remember scanning a page of the comic just so I could make myself an icon out of the panel where he's riding a pig, and it says "Zoooooooom!" above his head. Nothing is random until you read HNB. -------------------- |

Yep, I've read it. I even got to meet Johnen once. You'd think he'd be tall the way he draws himself in his comics but he's actually really tiny in person. XD
He was pretty nice. Also, love the comic. -------------------- |

I hate it when people say he hates his fans...I don't think he hates them, I think he just...is annoyed by the stupid ones who ask really stupid questions that have already been answered a hundred times. -------------------- http://gpxplus.net/user/Zim

I used to love JTHM. I still kind of do, but it'll be some time before I'm able to read it again. I used to roleplay as Nny on livejournal and...ugh, the stress. Never write out an application for a character at Landel's if you ever want to be able to read the source material again. I can still quote the first half of the book by memory. Dx
I personally love Devi. I Feel Sick doesn't get as much credit as it should, and I enjoy it more than JTHM now. -------------------- |

I've read it a couple times. The most memorable line from JTHM is, "Oh my God! It's God!". <3 I still need to read Squee's book though. =/
-------------------- I click back~ (As long as I'm on and see you clicked, before it resets.) When I finally find a Ditto he is getting glomped like there is no tomorrow. Beware, little Ditto~ How badly do I want Ditto? Why, I'd rather have him than a Legendary in an event! @_@ *that obsessed* Much thanks to everyone who clicks my PKMN and loves on 'em. <3 Part of the GPX+ Blogring. |

He seemed pretty happy at his booth when I met him. He didn't seem like he was paying much attention to the people in line, though. When someone came up to him he would sign their book and answer their questions if they had any, but mostly he just sat there and doodled in his sketch book. I got a glimpse at his sketches, too.... >.> I didn't get any of my comics signed because I didn't know he would be there and I didn't have any extra cash to buy one of the books at his booth. -------------------- |
