I know the vast majority of us speak English here since this is an English forum. x3 But we all come from different countries, nationalities, cultures, ect. And I'm sure a few of us were raised with different languages. Or maybe we've learned a new language over the years.
Personally, I can speak 3 languages fluently. They are English, French, and Portuguese.
French was my first language (since I am from France.) and then I learned English when I moved to Florida when I was 6. And the Portuguese I kind of taught myself because I like it :]
So my question is do any of you speak any languages besides English? If so, which ones?
Well I know english and am currently taking latin, in high school I'll take japanese though ^^
Italian, English and I'm learning Japanese.
I am currently learning Japanese, and there is no need for me to say anything about fluently speaking English.
日本 は すごい です。
English is my first language, and I'm starting to learn Japanese fluently.
Though I do know Spanish from classes I had to take.

In Belgium you must learn French when you're 11 and German when you're 16
So I can speak 3 languages and I'm only 14

English is my native language. I have been learning french and german for 3 years now going on 5, so hopefully I will become very fluent in those.
I did take latin for a year but i cant remember a thing.
I also know a few words and phrases in Japanese and I can read most hiraganna. I really want to get better at the language though. I want to find a course I can take somewhere so I can learn the language properly and become fluent.
English. Like, proper British English (after all, I do live in England!). I still know a bit of French, Germand and Mandarin that I learned back when I was in school, but just a few words. I don't really have the memory for learning new languages.

I'm pretty sure I started a thread exactly like this a while back....yep, positive.
Anyways, I can speak English, Spanish and Japanese fluently. I have just mastered Latin and am aiming to master French. I also have the strangest feeling to learn Greek and Russian (I know basic Russian already, so I guess that's a head start.) My personal goal is to master 8 languages by the time I'm 23 (which I'm already halfway through thanks to good teachers and self-taught books. )
English is the only language I can speak fluently, but I know a tiny bit of spanish (took 3 years of it in High School, and only know a few words...ugh), a tiny bit of German (One year) and a little Japanese, not including the fangirl-kawaii-speak *shudder*. I took a semester of it in jr. high.
Currently studying Japanese at the level where normal, everyday Japanese is no problem and the same goes for playing games in Japanese, watching anime and reading manga.

Planning to take up Russian, if possible. (:
I speak and write both English and Spanish fluently and I am currently learning Japanese on my free time.
ENGLISH .....thats it sadly
yep
I was raised speaking English and constantly taught Welsh at school, but with years of not learning or using it at all I kinda don't know a lot anymore.
I am however studying advanced French and beginner's Italian at university so I kinda replaced the Welsh in my head with those. ^-^
Though now I wish I knew more Welsh, I'm at university in England and, though half of what I seem to say is in Wenglish (Welsh/English), I feel a tad unpatriotic for not knowing more.
xox
My main language is English, but I know a bit of Japanese, and a bit of Spanish too.
I'm fluently bilingual in French and English, and I wanna learn Japanese.
Obviously, I speak English, but I'm also learning French. In the future I'd also like to learn Arabic.

I speak french very well (better than a lot of adolescents of today) but I'm not very good in english ...
I speak Dutch (since I live in Holland) and English. I still want to learn Polish though.
The only one I speak fluently is English. I can speak a few sentences in Latin, and maybe a short conversation in Spanish, but that's it.

English goes otherwise well but I cant actually speak it very well. But then again, I have never actually had any need of speaking it out loud.
My Japanese is slightly below passable, main problems being kanji and lack of active sentence exercises.

I speak English, but I know some spanish words. That's about it though, my mom can speak Spanish more than I can.
I only know English fluently, but I can read enough Spanish to be able to figure out instruction manuals. Same with French.
I'd like to learn Spanish, German, Latin, Mandarin, and Japanese. I'm not great at learning the sentence structures and such in other languages but I can memorize the words pretty easily.
...though I like to tease people that I know Parseltongue. (Yes, the snake language from Harry Potter. )
I can speak English, some German and some Japanese.

Ahaha. Since I'm from Finland, I speak and write Finnish very well. Finnish is easy, altough it is said to be the world's second hardest language to speak. Then, of course, English. And a few words of Japanese. I'll start studying Swedish when I go to secondary school.
I can speak Portuguese (forced to since I'm from Portugal xD), English, of course, and a little bit of Spanish. I hate French so badly that I refuse to talk in French.

I have always regretted not having more than one language at my disposal. My father was Hungarian and I SO wish I had learnt that as a child. As it is, I know a song and a few words.
I took Latin in University which is slowly dying (excuse the pun) since I have no where to practice the dead language.
The other language I'm interested in, like many of the forumers, is Japanese. I've self-taught through anime series and fanfiction words and my vocabulary increases. I wouldn't be able to carry a conversation, mind, but occasionally I can understand what's being said, or mistranslated.
I can speak english fluently, and im pretty good at chinese, and im learning to speak french
I know Chinese, English, Spanish (I know these 3 VERY well), a few words of French and Japanese. I'm proud of myself!

I can only speak one language~ I hope you can tell what it is.
I've taught myself a tiny bit of German, but I can't actually pronounce it. xD
I want to learn so many languages it's crazy, though. I at least want to learn Russian and German, I also want to learn Italian, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Swedish, Finnish, Polish, Dutch, Hungarian, and Japanese. Unfortunately I don't think it's possible for any one person to learn that many languages. xD
I'll probably just stick with Russian and German, maybe Lithuanian.
I speak English, Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian, a little Spanish and German...
I speak turkish, bulgarian, makedonian and some serbian, russian and learning english

I did learn English, French and German in school, but only my English is fluent, the other languages I can understand and read quite well, but I'm not good in speaking them.
I speak Finnish as my native language (gosh there are many finnish people on these forums ). I speak English quite fluently as well (have studied it for seven years already). On top of that, I speak some German and some Swedish. I can also speak French a bit and very small amount of Russian.
I'd like to learn Japanese (of course ), Dutch, Spanish, Italian and maybe some Chinese as well.
My Native language is English, but I learned a little bit of German. I'm not fluent... but I can at least hold out a small conversation in it and understand every other word. ^^; I'm planning/hoping to get better at it though.
I also have to take up Spanish, since my current Bf speaks it fluently, and would really like it if I learn it. xD;;
I'm fluent in English and Irish, I can speak French passably well, and I know a bit of Spanish.
My only fluent language is English... I took Spanish and French in high school and can read it, but I can't really speak it. I have trouble speaking my own language for Pete's sake! Though I do want to learn German and Japanese. I might do independent study on those.
English, hurrrr. Japanese absolutely infuriates me, I have no idea why anyone would want to put themselves through learning how to speak it. German or Russian would be pretty cool though.
i speak english and am learning french at school it is really hard
I'm taking Spanish IV at my school this year. I can understand a lot of the words since I have good memory for things like words and names and all, but I'm not all that good at quick conjugating.
English is my first language. I'm in my fifth year of learning Spanish at school, and this year I'm taking honors, so I think I speak the language fairly well, although I can't say I'm fluent at all. I've also been learning Japanese for a while, although I've never had the opportunity to take a class on it, so I haven't been learning extremely well. I know a few words of Chinese too, but seriously, I could probably tell you my name and that I'm American, and that's about it.
My first language is Finnish, I can also speak English (WOW REALLY?!) and Swedish. I really can write swedish or talk it, I only understand it X---D too bad that it would help me a lot <.<
English, German and Croatian.
I've also learned to translate Latin into German in school.
I can speak german, english and latin (but I suck in latin xD).
When I am in the 11th grade, I will take spanish
English, which is my first language, some German, some French and a few words of Spanish. I am learning German so hopefully in the future I will be fluent in it. I can definately read and write it confidently, need to work on my speaking it a bit since I lack confidence in saying it out loud. Also need to get better at listening to it. XD I SHALL ONE DAY MASTER IT! 8D
My native language is English, of course.
..but I am also self-studying Japanese.
I speak English and I can understand some Asian languages.
AZN PRIDE

First language is English, but learning Spanish at the moment.
Fluent in English, with basic knowledge of Japanese and Spanish and super basic classical Latin. Dare I say Latin was the funnest class ever? I think I do
Want to finish learning Japanese, then start on Mandarin Chinese and French.
Fluent in English. Mostly fluent in Thai (although sometimes I forget words). Thai was my first language, but I was only four when I moved to the USA, and I can speak a little French.
I'm fluent in English and study French in school.
I also know a bit of Chinese, and fragments of Japanese.
First language is German, but I'm pretty fluent in English. I also learn French and Latin at school, but my French isn't that good (I've got less trouble with writing that with talking ') and of course I can't speak Latin...I'd love to learn Japanese, though I doubt I'll be able to...
0nly English
My main language is English, so I speak it well. I'm taking Spanish now, so I can understand a bit of it (I hate speaking it, since I'm terrible at it)... sometime in the future, I'd like to learn Italian and Japanese
English is the language I grew up with, Spanish is what I'm taking in school, and Portuguese is what I'm hoping to conquer after using Spanish as a stepping stone. =) I get Spanish and Portuguese confused all the time, but seeing as my mom is from the Azores (a group of islands that are part of Portugal) I'm hoping to get over that and eventually learn the language better.
I am fluent in Korean and English and I know a lot of Japanese. After I'm done learning Japanese, I'm hoping to learn either French or Chinese.
i dont speak any languages.... just enough English that everyone in new jersey speaks, and very little Spanish, very little French.
Merci
English, and a very small amount of French.
I speak English and I'm currently learning Spanish. Only in Spanish 2 though... =_= It's not like they offered anything at school for me when I was younger. All the younger kids nowadays get introduced to Spanish and other languages earlier than I did...it's unfair.
My first language is english, as I've lived in the US my whole life. I'm taking some spanish classes though (two years under my belt), and I plan to pursue a career in teaching relative to it. I'd like to, at least.

My first language is French. Yeah. English is my second one.
I also speak a little bit Spanish, and I know some Japanese words 'cause of intensive subbed anime-watching, although I don't exactly know how to form a proper sentence. ^^;
I speak English and American Sign Language. :]
English but I'm trying to learn Spanish since I've heard it's one of the more easier languages to learn.
German and English.
I learned Frensh once, but that's a disaster and now I learned Spanish for one year.
German is my native language, English is only my second one. But I like it way more, it's actually my favorite language. Then, let's see, I've learned Latin for 5 years, but that's not exactly useful. I started learning French about three years ago, and I know the basics of Spanish and Japanese. I love learning languages, it's so much fun.
kk I'm Korean so I definitely speak Korean
and since Korean and Japanese language are so in common, I can speak Japanese too~
I always have trouble in English grammar ;o; sooo difficult hehe
I'd like to learn Italian and Spanish too but since I have to study my major subjects... I have no time to do that now...maybe someday..?kk
I fluently speak English (what with it being my native tongue and all ^^; ) I took 2 years of Spanish in high school, but what I remember would probably only be enough to save my life, and I'm in the process of learning Japanese, but the process is very slow going for me T_T I am also wanting to learn (for some odd reason) Egyptian.
My native language is English, but I know a little bit of Spanish too. I've lost most of what I knew due to lack of using it, but I'd like to say I was about 2/3 fluent.
In college I plan on minoring in Arabic as a foreign language so I can study anthropology (mostly Egyptology) out in the middle east and Egypt.
My native language is Spanish, and I know English decently well. I would like to learn French.
well, since I am from Norway, Norwegian! XD

I want very much to learn German, Latin, Arabic writing, and Russian seems like a cool thing to learn aswell.
Finally, like everyone I want to know Japanese, ごめんあさい '
Dutch is my native language, beside that I would only call my English fluent. Other languages I know something of are German, French, Norwegian, Polish, Swedish, in decreasing order. I have also had classical Latin and classical Greek. I also know a little Finnish, it comprises 60% swears so I suppose I know enough to alienate people from me for the remainder of their lives.
My native language is polish, but I'm trying to learn English
My native language is Polish, but I'm trying to learn English
Sorry. Double post
Spanish/English
1: English, not too hard.
2: ASL, look it up if you don't know the acronym.
3: Spanish, I have the knowledge of a 3rd grader when it comes to this language.
English, French, and two weeks' worth of Spanish, but don't expect me to be able to translate more than "hola".
Edit: I name this page... Steven!
I'm a native English speaker, but I can speak French and I'm learning German. :] My German is horrible, but I'm almost fluent in French... key word: almost. I've lived with a host family in France and learned a lot, but I've never been to Germany. I hope to in the future, though!
I feel like when learning a new language, the only way to become truly fluent is to go to the country and be immersed in the language. It's so awesome when you first start thinking in another language! Does anyone agree?
@ The True Dragonforce: Lol, I know you mean sign language, but I thought of chatspeak "asl", as in "age, sex, location"
Well I speak Slovakian (national language), Czech, kinda Russian, English, a bit German xD
english/german/russian a bit spanish
In order :
- French (my mother tongue)
- English (yes, really)

I'm just... not very good at learning other languages.
I'm a native Vietnamese Speaker although I'm not very good at it, my second language is English, to my surprise, I took Spanish in elementary, French,English, Japanese, and still, Vietnamese.

I've never set foot in Japan though...

English is my native language, but I've taken three years of French (like four years ago, so I've forgotten most of it >_o;) and two years of Japanese. I'm no means fluent in anything but English, but occasionally I can get a sentence or two out with a little thought.
Otherwise, I know random snippets and phrases in a bunch of other languages. I love language. I'd like to be a linguist, but my college isn't quite that awesome
I took German for three years in high school and one year in university. I was going to take the highest-level German course at my university, but the professor was neither fluent nor a native speaker, so I dropped it.
Otherwise, English is the only language in which I am fluent.

I speak Cantonese, English and 1/2 Mandarin which I am learning
Lives in Australia

I can only speak english but I like to look up lyrics to japanese songs and sing along to them. I'm joining the air force so I'll probably have to learn a little bit of some other countries language.
I'm form Poland and speak Polish
My english is bad
Swedish, english(duh?) and some spanish.
I can also understand norwegian and danish. Maybe some german, but that's very little. (It's easier to read it.)

4. Japaneses
5. Latin

I'm fluent in english, I'm learning french, I knew a lil portugese (one of my friends could only really speak it, not really any english), and I'm learning some Japanese. My school only offers Spanish, French, and German. >:
English obviously, but I learned some German before I transfered schools. I have a very limited knowaledge of Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian. However next year I will hopefully be taking Japanese.
Fluently German (I'm German, duh =__=)
Fluently English (I learned it for almost seven years, it's easy, a common language, fun to learn and I spent 5 months in Canada)
Almost fluently French (I learned it for almost 4 years)
Japanese (just started, so not very much yet)
^3^
I can speak French and Arabic fluently.

English, naturally, and I'm starting to really get the hang of German. I'm not exactly face to face conversation ready for it, but I'm getting there.
Russian (I'm from Russia, so yeah), Spanish (almost 10 years now) and English (obviously).
And I think I'll try something else. Probably a Scandinavian language or Japanese.
English, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish.. I've been taking Spanish ever since kindergarten. Chinese, on the other hand, I've learnt some in school.
Mostly just English, but I know enough Spanish to hold a short, basic conversation.
Aside from obviously English, I can speak almost fluent Afrikaans (probably one of the easiest languages, in my opinion) because my best friend's mom adopted an eight-year old boy from South Africa and he speaks it and tries to teach us. We got books on it and took courses at a local language school so now we can speak it rather well.
Ek is lief vir jou! Maar ek hou van tert meer.
I can also speak a little French and I'm currently studying Norwegian for no adequate reason at all. I love learning languages.
i Speak english & im learning Serbian
English obviously, my first language.
The French, which I'm forced to learn (and fail at, stupid bilingual Canada. Although I do love French food)
A bit of Mandarin, losing it fast though since I stopped taking it this year, opting for Latin.
Same deal with Spanish, losing fast.
Latin, I do know some. However, school decided to be stupid and say the grade I'm going into can't have Latin as an elective. What the hell? I LIKE Latin.
I'm learning French but otherwise I just speak English for now. After I master French, I want to learn either German or Spanish depending on what I'm doing with my life.

English, which is my native tongue. As for a second language, I don't know much Spanish, since I pretty much for go a lot of it after my Freshman year of high school. It would've kinda helped if the teacher gave us our notebooks before the school year ended; she never even mentioned anything about taking them home. Also, I know like, three words, that make up a phrase, in German that my English teacher in my Junior year of high school taught the class.
English (duh), and I'm taking French as my language course in school. I'm decent at it, I can probably have a casual conversation with a French guy. A lot of it would involve me saying "Je ne comprendre pas", but regardless... I know some vague words in multiple random languages including German, Filipino, Spanish and Japanese. Yeah, that's it.
