Mizuki was prepared to go on a journey. Well, that is if you call being nervous is a sign of being prepared. To relax her tension, she decided to go out to fish. Hopefully, she could train her pokemon by doing so. So she borrowed her parent's old fishing rod again and went off to the shore. As she sat there, she pondered on some thoughts. Was it a little too late to start training her pokemon? Do I even know how to battle properly? What if people laugh at me? So much for self confidence.
Finally, she felt a little tug on the line. As a fishing expert, she slowly reeled in the line at first, releasing it every so often (NOTE - she always returned the pokemon to the water after catching it, so this was going to be her first time battling one). At last, she quickly pulled on the line and a corphish came flying into the air and landed on the shore with a 'thump'. Yes! she thought and quickly released Piplup. Hmm, water against a water-type...this may take a little longer... As the corphish regained its position on the sand, Mizuki already gave Piplup it's first command.
"Pound it Piplup!" Mizuki ordered.
Piplup raced towards the corphish, hoping to get a direct aim at it. Unfortuately, the distance between the two pokemon was a little too far for Piplup, and it tripped over itself.
"It's alright Piplup! Just get back up on your feet!" Mizuki shouted, Clearly, Piplup can't run such a distance, maybe I'll just have to use bubble...
The corphish gave no time for Piplup to recover, It used bubble and Piplup received the damage and fell over again.
"Piplup! Use bubble too!" Mizuki suggested.
This time, Piplup's attack went through, but the corphish used harden. Piplup attacked again, but this time the corphish dodged it and it moved closer to the water.
It's thinking of escaping! Mizuki thought, but it was too late. It jumped back into the water and swam away. Piplup came back to Mizuki with tears in its eyes. Mizuki hugged Piplup, "It's alright, we'll do better next time!" Piplup returned to its pokeball. Mizuki sighed. Maybe I should ask someone to teach me a thing or two...
"Come on, Star! You can do it!"
"Starly, star!" The Starly cried as it took damage from a level 8 Bidoof. Lysander gritted his teeth as his Pokemon fell over, and quickly said as the Bidoof was distracted, "Use Wing Attack!"
The Starly got to its feet, and spread its wings, then starting to flap them towards the Bidoof. The Bidoof cried as it was knocked against a tree, fainting instantly. Lysander laughed, and ran up to his Pokemon, picking her up, and holding her. "Great job, Star! You did awesome." he praised. "Starly!" It replied happily back. Lysander gave the Pokemon a potion, and some Pokemon food while he updated his progress in his journal.
Lysander looked up when he thought he heard someone outside of the woods he was in. Starly was looking up also, so clearly she had heard the voice too. Lysander let Starly on his shoulder, and grabbed his things, walking out of the forest. He blinked when he saw a trainer with a Piplup. He watched as they battled a Corphish. When the battle was over, and it jumped back into the water, he smiled, walking over to the two. "That was a nice battle." he commented. "Your Piplup is very spirited." he added. He held out his hand. "I'm Lysander, and this is Star." he told the girl. "And you are?" he asked politely, eyes shining. Star gazed carefully at the Piplup, then fluttered from Lysander's shoulder, landing in front of it. She tilted her head. "Starly?" She chimed.
Mizuki looked at the boy in front of her and stood up. She shook the boy's hand and looked at the Starly. "Hey there! I'm Mizuki...and that was my...um Piplup. I don't have a nickname for it...yet..."
She called back Piplup and it wanted to shake the Starly's...wing? Nevertheless, it gave a little wave. Mizuki looked back at the boy, "It was my first try...I don't really know how to battle properly. I've only read it in books and watched it on TV," she smiled at the Starly, "Your Starly is very cute!"
Lysander smiled. "Nice name." he commented. He laughed, and added, "Nice to meet you, too."
He let go of her hand, and looked at the two Pokemon greeting eachother. Star waved back before she went back to her trainer. Star fluttered up onto Lysander's shoulder afterwards, and kept looking at the Piplup. Lysander gave her a little pat, and looked back at Mizuki as she spoke. "It was a good first try. But, you'll start to get used to it after you battle more." he told her.
He grinned when she commented on his Pokemon. "Thank you. Your Piplup is very cute, too." he replied. Star flapped her wings once in thanks. Lysander gave her a small treat, smiling, then looking back at Mizuki.
"I've been trying to think of nicknames, but I'm not very good at them> I want a name that's meaningful, yet cute at the same time, since Piplup is a female." Mizuki paused for a moment. "When did you first start training your pokemon?" asked Mizuki, "You seem very close with your Starly." Piplup came back to Mizuki with her flippers reaching towards her, as if she wanted Mizuki to carry her. Mizuki bent down and took Piplup into her arms. Piplup looked overjoyed.
Lysander nodded. "I wanted something simple for her.. something that fit her well." he told her, grinning. He looked at the Piplup, then back up at Mizuki.
"I started to train her when I was eleven. Shes been a wonderful companion for me since my father died." he murmured, smiling at Star. Star nudged his cheek softly with her head, comforting him. He looked at Mizuki, who was now holding Piplup. He smiled softly, and said, "You seem very close with your Piplup."
Mizuki looked at her Piplup and laughed. "I still remember when I was afraid of Piplup." she replied and she hugged Piplup even more, "but now we're friends aren't we?" Piplup kissed Mizuki and she laughed. Looking back at Lysander, she asked, "What brings you to Barley? Are you in a hurry?"
Lysander chuckled, and nodded. "Thats good." he replied, grinning.
He looked at her when she spoke again. He shook his head, and shrugged. "I just like to travel. I thought this would be a nice place to settle for a bit before I leave again." he told her.
"I see, I'm about to leave town for a while, I'm planning to actually train and befriend more pokemon! Do you have any clue where I could possibly find a Trapinch or a Swablu? I've always wanted a dragon-type pokemon, so I thought that either pokemon would be great to start off with, although I'm not sure if I could even capture one" Mizuki laughed at herself. It was obvious that her self-confidence was decreasing again. She looked at Lysander and asked quietly, "Maybe you could teach me a thing or two?"
Lysander listened while she explained what she wanted to do. "I see. Making friends with Pokemon is good for anyone. And, I heard that Swablus settle outside of Fallarbor town, near Meteor Falls. And Trapinch, is in the desert near Mauville City." he told her. He smiled when she said she doubted she would catch one. "I believe you can. Because, I was wanting to come with you." he replied, grinning. Star chirped, and nodded. "And, I would love to teach you some stuff." he added, winking.
"What do you say?" he asked, eyes shining.
Mizuki brightened up. "Ah, really? I'd realy like some help! - That is, if I'm not going to be too much of a burden to you..." She searched through her bag for a notebook with a Latias cover and a Latios backcover; and a Piplup pen. She wrote down the areas that Lysander suggested and placed the notebook back into her bag. "Okay then! I'm ready!" Mizuki said happily to Lysander.
Lysander laughed. "Not at all. I think this'll be fun to do. Seeing new Pokemon, and being with a friend. It all works out." he replied. "And why would you be a burden? You seem like a cool person to be with." he added with a smile.
He watched as she wrote down the places, then smiled, nodding in agreement. "Lets go." he replied. Star chirped happily, and nudged Lysander again.
Mizuki blushed. She was happy that she met a friend. "Okay~ Where will we head to?" She decided to keep Piplup in her arms for this time. Hopefully, Torchic would not get jealous, but Mizuki was sure that he wouldn't act like that again. Remembering her parent's old rod, she attached it onto her bag.
Lysander caught her blush, and then grinned, blushing also. He cleared his throat, and then ran a hand through his hair. "I was thinking we could head anywhere. Wherever we end up, we end up." he said. "And who knows? We might find some good Pokemon." he added, smiling.
Mizuki nodded in agreement. "Sure! I always loved surprises!" Mizuki looked into her bag again, "Although, I may want to buy some more pokeballs and potions first, if that is alright with you? I think there is a mart back in the mainland area."
Lysander laughed, and nodded, eyes shining. "Yeah. Suprises are fun." he agreed.
Lysander looked in his bag also, and nodded. "Me too. I need some more potions. And maybe some pokeballs." he replied, smiling softly.
"Alright then, I'll show you where the shop is!" Mizuki started making her way to the paved road. During her days in middle school, her classmates have mentioned a mart which specialized in equiping trainers for their journeys. Mizuki had never been in the store herself, but her classmates have spoken many stories about their adventures inside the mart.
Lysander nodded, and followed her, enjoying the scenery as they passed it. Star flew off his shoulder, snatching two berries off a Pecha tree. She gave one to Piplup, then ate hers, then flying onto Lysander's shoulder. Lysander smiled, and stroked her feathers once.
Soon enough, they came across a small shop with a blue roof. "Is that it?" he asked, looking at her.
Piplup became overjoyed when the Starly offered it a Pecha berry. It has never eaten fresh sweet berries before, since Mizuki hardly ever wanders in this area. "Did you like that berry Piplup?" asked Mizuki. Piplup nodded its head and continued to happily eat the berry.
Mizuki looked up and saw the small shop. "I believe so!" Mizuki said excitedly. Compared to the seafood markets that were just on the shore, it was smaller in size, but she could see that it was filled, no, overflowed with people. Mizuki took out her wallet and was anxious to go inside.
Star smiled, and nodded at Piplup, then continuing to eat the berry. He looked at Mizuki and Piplup for a few seconds, thinking to himself, They're really good friends with each other. Its nice to see.
He looked at the shop again, and nodded. "That crowd of people must mean something." he said with a grin. He took out his wallet also, and glanced at Mizuki. "Anxious, huh?" he guessed.
Mizuki nodded to Lysander's question. She was excited to go in the store the first time. "I've heard from my classmates that they are one of the stores around here that sells the cheapest items! At least, that's what they said about it - I hope they are right. I wonder where they get all their stock...if they're so busy every day! Hopefully, we can make it into the store!" Mizuki laughed.
Lysander grinned, and nodded. "Hopefully. Lets go inside." he said. He smiled, and walked beside her as they entered the store.
It was as crowded as they thought it would be. Lysander had to squeeze past everyone to get what he needed. He got 5 Pokeballs, 3 Greatballs, and some potions for battle. He waited for Mizuki to get her things before going to the check-out counter.
Mizuki had to say "excuse me" five times before she could reach the pokeballs. She sighed in relief and looked around as she stood by the pokeballs. Every single one of them are trainers?, she thought to herself. There were many children, some dozens of other teenagers and a few adults. Snapping out of her daze, she picked up 10 pokeballs and 2 more potions. She figured that perhaps she will need some more pokeballs, just in case she carelessly throws them even though the pokemon was obviously unable to be caught yet, so she grabbed 5 more. She looked around, finally spotting Lysander among the crowd and went to him.
"I think I'm all set for now." She told Lysander.
Lysander managed to see her above all the people as she got her things. He smiled when she came up, and he nodded. "Me too." he replied, turning to face the line. Suprisingly, He was close to the front. And so was Mizuki.
When it was their turn, he put the things he got on the counter, and pulled out money.
"That will be ¥7900." said the cashier.
Lysander nodded, and pulled out exact change, smiling as he put his things in his bag. He walked towards the door, waiting for Mizuki.
Mizuki placed her goods onto the counter and the cashier asked for ¥3600 and Mizuki rummaged through her coins. While she was finding the exact change, the cashier included a premier ball. Mizuki nodded as a thank you. She placed the coins onto the counter and politely took her supplies and placed them in her bag.
Mizuki walked quickly towards Lysander. "Sorry that I made you wait!" She apologized.
Lysander watched as she paid for her things, then smiled when she came over. "Don't worry about it." he assured her.
He patted her shoulder, then turned, looking down the road ahead. He smiled, and turned to her. "Ready to go?" he asked, eyes shining in excitement.
Mizuki nodded. She was excited for her first adventure. She grabbed a water bottle from her bag and took a small sip. She gave Lysander the thumbs up. "I'm all set!" Mizuki replied happily.
Lysander laughed, and nodded. "Alright then, lets go!" he said, starting to walk.
Star gave an excited chirp, and flew into the air happily. Lysander grinned, watching her.
Mizuki looked at Piplup. It innocently looked back. She took out its pokeball and said, "Okay, it's time for you to go back, I'll need to take notes!" Piplup tilted its head, kissed Mizuki on the cheeck and was ready to return. With a flash of red light, the pokemon went back into its ball. She placed the pokeball back onto its place on her bracelet, which had another pokeball dangling on it. Mizuki then grabbed back her notebook and pen as she walked beside Lysander.
Lysander watched her put Piplup in the pokeball, then looked at Star, who was sitting peacefully on his shoulder. He smiled, and stroked her feathers softly, before reaching for her pokeball. In a flash of red light, she was gone, and he put the pokeball back on his belt. He looked at Mizuki, who was writing notes in her journal.
He smiled softly, and looked at the road ahead.
Mizuki continued to write in her notebook. Bought 15 new Pokeballs, 2 potions... She then closed her notebook and looked at Lysander. "So! Where will we head first? I'm not very used to travelling, but hopefully we'll end up somewhere eventually!"
Lysander glanced at her when she put her notebook away, then smiled softly. "Lets just keep heading this way. I hear there are some good Pokemon around here." he told her, looking around as they walked.
"Ah, okay!" Mizuki replied back. She suddenly remembered that she had brought a camera to make a scrapbook of her adventures. She'll definitely send some images back to her parents. Mizuki looked through her bag and finally found her small light blue digital camera hidden in a case. She checked if she had brought extra batteries and turned on her camera, making sure that it worked.
"Lysander, why don't we take a picture? I'm going to make a scrapbook of all the things I'm going to do on my adventure!" Mizuki exclaimed.
Lysander watched as she dug through her bag for her camera, then smiled when she got it.
He nodded, and stopped walking. "Sure. Lets take one." he agreed, standing next to her.
"Yay! Just one moment..." Mizuki fixed the camera settings and flipped the screen so they could see it and held it in front of them, adjusting it along the way. "Okay then! Say...er, what should we say this time? How about 'Let's Go!' ?" She made a peace sign with her left hand and held it up to her face.
"3...2...1...Let's Go!" Mizuki shouted. She never figured out how people could say things and smile without opening their mouths at the same time.
Lysander grinned, and nodded, looking into the camera.
When the picture was about to click, he grinned, making the Rock N' Roll sign.
When the picture clicked, he smiled at her, wanting to see how it came out.
Mizuki looked at the camera screen and set the camera to show the picture. She showed it to Lysander and grinned, "Thanks so much! This will make a great first page picture!"
Lysander looked at the picture, and smiled, nodding in agreement. "You look good in it." he commented, eyes shining.
He thought for a moment, then pulled out a great ball, containing a Chimchar. He smiled, and threw it in the air, and seconds later, in a flash of white, a Chimchar was standing, staring at him. "Chimchar?" it tilted its head, and then smiled, climbing up to his shoulder.
Lysander grinned, and stroked its head. "Hey, Charcoal." he greeted, giving him a berry. Charcoal ate it happily, and squeaked.
Lysander looked at Mizuki, and smiled. "Mizuki, this is Charcoal. My Chimchar." he told her.
Mizuki bent towards the Chimchar. "Hello there!" She looked back at Lysander, "I have a fire-type pokemon too!" She took out the second pokeball from her bracelet and threw it up in the air.
"Torchic!" Mizuki cried out. With a flash of light a Torchic appeared and landed on its feet. Mizuki placed back the empty pokeball onto her bracelet. "This is, as you might have guessed, Torchic!" Mizuki laughed, "I really should get into the habit of giving my pokemon nicknames."
"Tor~!" Torchic chirped.
Suddenly, Mizuki heard a flock of birds coming their way and she turned around. "Ah! Swablu!" Mizuki pointed towards the flock. She flipped through her notebook and found the page with details about Swablu. "Ah, I guess it's because it's spring, they'll move closer to human populated towns. This is the perfect time to catch one! Torchic! Get ready!"
Lysander watched as she leaned towards Charcoal. He patted his head, and grinned.
He smiled, and watched her call out her Torchic. He grinned, and said, "I'm sure you won't have any trouble naming it." he assured her, eyes shining.
Charcoal leaped off his shoulder, and went towards Torchic. "Chim?" he said softly, tilting his head. Lysander laughed, and then looked at Mizuki when she cried out. He turned his head, seeing the Swablu fly over them. He smiled, and nodded. "Yeah! We might have some luck. Lets go see if we can." he replied excitedly, making Charcoal get on his shoulder as he jogged towards the town.
"I'm definitely not going to miss this time!" The flock of Swablu landed on top of a big tree. "Hmm, I don't think Torchic knows any long range moves." Mizuki grabbed the other pokeball from her braclet and called back Piplup.
"Piplup! Use bubble to knock a Swablu out of the tree!" Mizuki cried.
"Pi~pipluuuup!" Piplup's bubble made a direct contact on a Swablu. The bird cried as it fell out of the tree, which alerted the other Swablu that were perched on the branches.
"Okay, now Torchic! Use Scratch!" Mizuki ordered. The Swablu had already recovered from its fall and was ready to use Peck. "Torchic! Dodge that Peck, then use Scratch! Make sure it doesn't fly to high!"
Torchic ran up to the Swablu as it was about to peck Torchic. Torchic shifted to the left and then quickly jumped at the Swablu to scratch it. The Swablu fell down again.
Mizuki turned towards Lysander asking, "How am I doing?"
Lysander watched the battle in interest, and was impressed by her improvement. Torchic was very quick, and was dodging the moves carefully.
When Mizuki spoke to him, he grinned, eyes shining. He nodded, and replied, "You're doing wonderful, Mizuki. Just keep at it until you think the Swablu is weak enough. Then use a pokeball." he told her, smiling in assurance.
"Now keep going." he urged, laughing.
Mizuki nodded back and quickly turned back to the battle. "Torchic! Scratch it again!"
"Tor~!" Torchic quickly jumped onto the Swablu and scratched it again and the Swablu returned with Peck. Torchic was knocked over, but it quickly resume its position and aimed at the Swablu again. The Swablu dodged and flew up into the air.
"Piplup, use bubble to knock it down again!" Mizuki ordered. Piplup enthusiastically used Bubble, successfully hitting the Swablu. It landed on the ground with a groaning noise and Mizuki knew that it should be about time. She quickly grabbed a new pokeball and threw it at the weakened Swablu. In a flash of light, the Swablu went into the pokeball. It wobbled and Mizuki held her breath. After 10 seconds, the pokeball stopped moving. Mizuki jumped for joy and hugged both Torchic and Piplup. The two pokemon seemed delighted as well. Mizuki picked up the pokeball containing her newly caught Swablu and held it up.
"I finally did it!" Mizuki said excitedly as she skipped back to Lysander.
Lysander watched with a grin, eyes shining. When she caught it, he laughed. "See? I told you you could do it!" he cried, embracing her in a friendly hug as she skipped back.
He pulled away, realizing what he had done, and he blushed, looking down and running a hand through his hair.
"Sorry. I get too excited some times." he told her with a nervous laugh.
Mizuki's face grew red as Lysander hugged her. "Ah, it's okay" she replied softly. She turned towards Piplup and Torchic. "You guys did great!" she complimented on the two pokemon's battle as she returned them both into their pokeballs. The were situated beside her newly caught Swablu on her braclet. Mizuki was proud of her first caught pokemon, although, she was worried at first, since the battle with the Corphish was still in her mind.
Mizuki looked back at Lysander, "Let's keep going!"
Lysander smiled softly, and nodded in thanks. He looked towards Piplup and Torchic, and grinned, nodding again. "Yeah, you guys did awesome, too." he agreed before they went in the pokeballs. He watched her put her newly caught Swablu on her bracelet, and he smiled, nodding.
"Lets. I hear there are some Tailow up ahead, and I need to catch one." he said with an enthusiastic tone. He turned, and started to walk, glancing back at her with soft eyes.
"Sure~! Taillow?" Mizuki wondered for a moment as they were walking. "Just out of curiosity, but are you a mainly flying-type trainer?" she asked as she was looking out for Taillows.
Lysander nodded at her question as they walked, and he smiled. "Mainly. But I also train fire, and water types too. One of my biggest dreams is to catch an Entei. And to make Star evolve into a Staraptor." he told her, eyes shining.
Soon enough, they came across a small meadow, with trees surrounding them in a circle. Lysander looked around with excited eyes. It was a tiny, but very green meadow. Pokemon could be anywhere in the thick grass. He jumped slightly when the grass rustled, and then widened his eyes when a Taillow hopped out, not even noticing him. "This is my chance." he thought to himself. He grabbed Star's pokeball, and then threw it in the air, shouting, "Star! Use peck!"
"Star-ly!" was her reply as she continously pecked the Taillow. The Taillow screeched, and used peck also. They were evenly matched. Lysander gasped slightly, and he smirked. "Use wing attack, Star! Dodge the peck attack!" he commanded.
Star obeyed without question, and flew into the air, around five feet above the ground, also dodging the continous peck, then used wing attack straight onto the Taillow. "Taillow!" it croaked as it fell to the ground, fainted. Lysander quickly pulled out an empty pokeball, and threw it at the fainted Taillow. It started to wiggle, and did so for around ten seconds before it stopped. Lysander laughed, and picked it up, and held it in the air triumphantly. "Yes! I caught it!" he said, looking at Mizuki.
He went over to her, putting his newly caught Taillow on his belt. He looked up at her, and grinned happily. "How'd I do?" he asked. Star fluttered up to sit on his shoulder, a worn out look on her face. Lysander smiled, and patted her head. "You did wonderful, Star. I'm proud of you." he said, giving her a berry, and then putting her back in her pokeball. Afterwards, he looked at Mizuki again.
Mizuki smiled brightly, "A lot better than me!" she replied and looked towards Star, "Star is very very quick!"
Mizuki turned back to Lysander and pointed at the berry that Star had just eaten. "I wonder if there are berry patches around here. I'm thinking of making some poffins for pokemon contests! Well, also as treats of course! Speaking of contests, I should start training for those as well. I'm not sure whether or not I want to become a co-ordinator or a full on badge collector. Maybe I can be both if I have the time." Mizuki laughed.
Lysander smirked, and nudged her arm softly. "Hey, don't say that. I'm sure you'll be better than me one day." he replied with a wink.
"Contests? Thats a good idea." he said with a smile. "I'm sure you would do awesome, Mizuki." he added, eyes sparkling.
"I've only watched contests on television and I've always wanted to try one out!" Mizuki said, "Have you ever tried a contest before? I'm sure Star will be a great competitor!"
Lysander shook his head. "No, I've never been in one. But I guess they do look kind of fun." he said, thinking for a moment. Star would be a hard competitor, no doubt. He decided to give it a try.
He looked at Mizuki, and nodded, smiling. "Sure. I'll do it." he agreed.
Mizuki jumped in excitement. "Yay! I'm so glad! I think I'll enter Piplup in a cute contest. She'll definitely like that!" She then checked her map that was glued into her notebook. "I wonder where we are now..."
Lysander looked at his PokeGear, and smiled. "We're getting close to Hearthrome City. We can make poffins, and train for contesting there." he told her, eyes shining.
He looked ahead, already glimpsing the huge stadium in which the contests were held. It would feel amazing to have the crowd screaming your name. He closed his eyes, and smiled, determined to win.
"Hearthrome?" Mizuki located it on her map and drew an arrow from her city to Hearthrome. When she looked up, she could see the contest stadium.
"Wow, it's huge!" she exclaimed at the stadium. Mizuki felt nervous, but excited about the crowd cheering. Mizuki was determined to train hard for the contest.
Lysander opened his eyes when she spoke, and he grinned, nodding. "Yeah, it is." he agreed.
As they neared the entrance to the city, Lysander looked around in awe at all the people, and buildings surrounding them. His gaze rested on a small building with a green roof. And on the sign that hung above the door, was the picture of a poffin. He grinned, and pointed at it. "Look! Its the poffin shop. Wanna go there now?" he asked, looking at her.
Mizuki looked at the shop that Lysander was pointing at. "Sure! Have you made any poffins before?" Mizuki asked Lysander.
She checked her bag for the choice of berries that she could use to make poffins. She didn't quite now what flavor her newly caught Swablu liked, and so Mizuki was puzzled. "Hmm, which flavor..."
Lysander shook his head in embarrassment. "No. I was never in any contests, so I didn't think I needed to." he replied, smirking. He looked at the pokeball that held Star, and smiled. "I'm sure she would like sweet poffins. So, Pecha berries." he told her.
He looked at Mizuki, who was puzzled about what berry to use for her Swablu's poffins. He smiled softly, and asked, "She seemed like the quirky type. So, maybe she would like any type." he suggested, eyes shining.
Mizuki pondered, "I guess you're right, maybe I should just let her try each type first, maybe she'll prefer one over the other." Mizuki took out Swablu's pokeball.
"Swablu, come on out!" Mizuki threw the pokeball into the air and Swablu appeared. She placed a berry of each flavor on the ground, "Swablu, try these!"
Swablu swooped down and started trying out the berries.
Lysander nodded, and watched as she made Swablu come out of her pokeball. He looked at Star's pokeball again, and then smiled, throwing it in the air. "Come on out and try the berries, Star!" he called as Star appeared, sitting on the ground. She immediately fluttered up to his shoulder, and chirped, "Star-Starly!" Lysander set her on the ground next to Swablu, and layed a Pecha berry in front of her. "Try that.. And if you don't like it, I have other flavors you can choose from." he told her.
Star nodded, and ate the pecha berry. She made a happy growling sound in her throat, like she liked the taste. Lysander grinned, and patted her. "Good. Sweet Poffin's for you, then." he decided. He looked up at Mizuki and Swablu.
Swablu has finished trying every flavour of berries. It truly could not decide which taste it liked better, however it did take another bite from the dry berry and it seemed to enjoy that.
"Ah, maybe I'll make some dry poffins for you then!" Mizuki said, "Swablu does look like the type for a beauty pokemon contest, since it likes cleaning itself that much when its wings get dirty."
Lysander watched as Swablu ate the berries, and decided which one she liked best. He grinned, and nodded, then watching Star finish off the Pecha berry. She really seemed to like it. "So, cute contest it is." he said with a laugh.
Star looked up at him, and chirped happily. "Star, Starly star!" Lysander smiled and picked her up, putting her on his shoulder. He looked at Mizuki, and grinned. "Ready to go inside?" he asked.
