So this is the most epic thing ever... Pokemon: The Origins was just announced yesterday/today. It's supposed to be about Red (he looks like the protagonist from FireRed/LeafGreen (male model) ) and Green. Brock was also featured in a Pokemon battle with Red.
The Pokemon and characters overall look really good. Not sure if it's going to be just a one-shot special or a mini-series, though. I HOPE a series; I was done watching Ash lose every battle since the Sinnoh region. What do you guys think? You can watch the trailer on serebii. -------------------- |

I'm really hoping this isn't just a one-off special and is made into a spin off series. Red was truly a bad-ass in the Manga. Cannot wait for October 2nd!

When I first saw it I couldn't believe it because the other day and many times before I have talked to people about the pokemon aniem and saying "I wonder what it would be like if they made a anime that followed Red and the others" and now seeing an actually trailer I'm so happy. And like what was posted above i hope this is actually a spin off series and not just a one episode special or something like that.

It's not going to be a spin-off, but an entire remake of the game itself. All the events taking place in the first pokémon games will be happening in the anime as well. So, yes, not a special episode, since they intend it to be a whole new pokémon anime.

It was so good! I'm surprised there isn't more discussion about it here.
It's too bad it was only four episodes. I hope it was successful enough that they decide to do similar ones for the other games (gold/silver would be next). I really liked that it followed the plot of the game rather strictly and that it used tons of references to and even lines from the original games. |

I'm actually hoping that, that happens to. It would be awesome to see other specials or episodes that are from the other games and follows the other games storyline to a certain degree. Pokemon: the origins was awesome to watch though it was so short, it was a good series of special episodes.

Pokemon Origins was definitely a great spin off. Did it throw me off my seat? Not exactly. Since there were only 4 episodes, I enjoyed them for what they were, and it was a shame that they didn't expand the Origins any longer like a regular series.
If it were like that, I would definitely be engaged more into it. Besides, who remembers getting their Charizard X back in Red/Green? :P -------------------- |
