Hello there trainer, welcome to Shiny Lovers Redux. Due to circumstances involving the original group leader becoming inactive, I have taken over the group. Here at Shiny Lovers Redux, all of our members are active shiny hunters. We thrive on hatching as many Pokémon in their much rarer, different colouration as possible, trying to fill up as much of our Shiny Dex as we can. Some of our users actively hunt Legendary and Novelty Pokémon for the sheer fulfilling feeling when they do hatch shiny, whereas other users just have an aim to fill up their Common rarity - Rare rarity Shiny Dex. Don't be shy, if you have a Shiny Pokémon join us today and share your glory and express your love for Shiny Pokémon!

Hunt starts at 11:55pm Server Time on 31st July 2013. Hunt finishes 11:55pm Server Time on August 18th 2013.
Choose one of the available Pokémon to hunt.
You may hunt more than 1 shiny, but as always, it won't net you any more ribbons.
Breeding isn't required, but it would be handy.
Use the Contest Form. If you don't use it then I'm not accepting it.
Send it me in a PM with an appropriate Subject Title.

This is currently still in testing, depending on how many people want to take part in them. There will only be 2 at the moment so I apologise if they're things people aren't fond of (I've tried to cater for things in the actual pokémon world opposed to GPX+) If everything seems to go all right and people want to be involved in them, then I will keep the themed hunts and hopefully expand on them.

~* Rules *~
These are subject to change at any time. Like I said above it's just a trial run. I may add more if people like them and remove them if no-one really does them.
All SLR and Forum rules apply.
Use the form that will appear in the form spoiler when I make it. All forms will be set to myself in a PM. Any in the thread will be ignored.
There is no time limit on these. These are completely DIFFERENT to the GWSH and how it works. You start the Themed Hunt and complete it in your own time, there's no rush to finish or join.
Because of being in test run there will be only 2 themes. I'm sorry if it seems restrictive at the moment, but if people like and enjoy doing them then I will add some more.
You can only do one Themed Hunt at a time. This cuts down on stress for me and it's easier for you.
Shinies you currently own won't count. So you need to hatch all shinies again (What's the point in signing up for something that you don't need to work for?) Yes it may seem a pain, but you're doing it as something else to keep you entertained.
Shinies must be in that form regardless if you have it or not. Just for proof of actually completing the Themed Hunt, then after that you can do whatever you want with it. Keep it for an exchange, release it, anything. But it HAS to be in that form.
Prizes will be some form of button. Perhaps the size of the centerpiece of the ribbons... hm. (As a general estimate). They'll be based on the Themed Hunt you do.
Once you hatched a Shiny for the Themed Hunt please post in the thread and/or PM me with it so I can cross it off.

As long as it's not as off-topic as the Knights can get. I'd prefer it if the main sort of discussion is Shinies, but some off-topic wouldn't be too bad. If I feel it's becoming too far off topic then I'll step in and say something.

Alright, accepted everyone up to this point.

For those before this post, feel free to post, within... whatever really is deemed acceptable. Shiny discussion, what shinies you like from the list of 649 etc. Kinda basic stuff which I'm sure you'll all know what's acceptable and what isn't. I'll add in the member info and post info when I get in tomorrow afternoon.

I got incredibly distracted by TV and drawing some of the banner outline. I've finished one of the Pokémon on the banner, but I need to tidy it up a bit and draw another. The other one to draw is gonna be really easy so it shouldn't take too long.

If anybody would like to make userbars or some form of advertisment banners, then feel free to make and post the, here and I'll add them in later. Having a complete re-haul of everything and the banners are the last thing to be done.

Also a little update on 'chatting'. As long as you all don't turn this into some form of literal chat thread and it has structure to it regarding shinies, what shiny you want the most etc.

Thanks everyone I was pretty surprised when I hatched them xDThough all my rarer shinies (those two and the Fossil Rampardon I had before) have crappy IVs.

And it slightly bugs me that I can't just stop doing the Unown exploration now because I want a non-shiny Y, and there's no reliable way to find one anymore.

I'm hoping to get either shiny Pidgey or Spearow soon... and also Eevee, which I kept as a hunt after trying for it in the last SWSH. >__< Eevee in particular I'd like to get over with, nearing 600 eggs and with its high maturity, it's something I usually only hunt when we've got a multiplier going on.

Group-wide shiny hunt sounds like it'd be fun!

I'd prefer it if it were recorded hunts, though. It's a bit hard to keep track of things when it's unrecorded. There won't be a first place, second place etc, you'll get a ribbon each.

Maybe Goldikarp.Got the name from Goldilocks(or whatever it is spelled) and the 3 bears because of the name Goldilocks and shiny magikarp is gold and female so.But when a magikarp but if you evolve it later then you can name it Hellados.Fusion of Hell - since Gyarados is like mean as hell - and Gyarodos.Gratz to it and other shinies

I ended up naming my Red Gyarados in Heart Gold, Kaiji. Forgot exactly what it means, but its something water related, I think?

edit: oh wait yours is a girl I'm p sure Kaiji is a boy name. Also you might not even evolve that Karp of yours.

Good thing I saw this when I did! (I saw your post on Blue Moons first, though) I got a good batch of Pokes from your Mass Drop. I must've missed all the shinies and Unowns though, and I didn't go for any Legends (though I saw a bunch of 'em) because...I guess I thought they would have low IVs. Of course, I was trying to go for whatever had high IVs, and I got a handful with acceptable to high IVs.

Seeing as were going by the poll, it seems we will be hunting Shiny Venipede and Shiny Spinarak! if you wanna check out the shinies, link is in the first post

We will start hunting on the 4th of April (so the hunt will start on Wednesday right after Tuesday's reset) and it will finish on reset on the 18th of April (Wednesday night's reset)
You may go for multiple shinies if you so wish, however it will not earn you any extra prizes.
If you don't manage to hatch a shiny, there will be a Consolation Prize.
If you start your hunt before Wednesday 4th, then please do not hatch any eggs. If you're on a hutn for Venipede/Spinarak already, then please PM me for extra details.
Say what you'll be hunting if you want to join in (and let me now you're taking part) so I know who to send prizes to.

Any questions, feel free to ask me them! I'll edit it in the Contest post, too.

I'm not really fond of members saying if the applications are wrong. I'm fully aware that you're just trying to help out, however I'd prefer it if application accepting/denying/notifying were left untouched for myself. Also, if you are to post, it would be appreciative to post something more relevant than just stating part of the form is wrong.

Sorry to be all on this high horse or whatever, I just don't really appreciate it.

Hunt starts on the 4th. Shine Recorder would be helpful, but if you don't use it I expect you to be old enough to study the amount of eggs you've hatched.

On another note about the upcoming couple of months. As I've stated, I have big exams coming up in May. The first one starts on May 14th and the last is May 29th. I'm also not here on the 16th - 20th of April, as-well. Being dragged away for an Easter break haha.

I've been thinking, if I'm not satisfied with the number of eggs this couple makes, I'll just get a Spinarak couple and a Venipede couple, and then I breed SxS one day, VxV the other day, SxS the day after that, and so on ^^

@The Hunger Games: Ooh cute nickname, thanks for the reply, but I won't use it because of two things: It's going to evolve into a Ariados so it won't be "Tiny" anymore, and I plan on nicknaming my future Sh. Taillow "Tiny" after my Emerald Taillow :c

Completely forgot all about it. I'm not sure if I'll be continuing it or not. I can't seem to find any Venipede Eggs at the moment. I'll give it a go but I won't be concentrating on it too much. Especially with Ralts in the way. Actually you know what, I think I'm going to not to bother with it...I just can't get started on it and I'm gonna have to give up on it unfortunately.

Yeah I guess you have a point. Besides the Site-wide Shiny Hunts, I haven't completed a Shiny Hunt since January 30. Actually that was also my last Shiny besides the ones from the SWSH...And with my Shiny Ralts hunt that's currently on 876 Eggs, it doesn't make things any easier.

Uhm... guys.

I DID say that you didn't need to use the shine recorder for the hunt. Just note down how many eggs you've hatched already in your dex and whenever you get the shiny, the number of eggs is the difference.

Just saying as I've been notified that people have been thinking you need the recorder to enter. Recorder is only easier for you so you can keep track of it easily xp

You can start the hunt whenever. You can join it up until the 18th. Even on the 18th if you want to. It'll function like the SWSH does. The contest ends after the 18th, so shinies after the 18th won't win you a prize etc.
