woo, another one of those big debate topics that every site needs.

I'm personally interested in seeing how many people are of the opinion that a) it's against Christianity, and thus is wrong, or b) t3h homoz r disgutingzzzzz lololol.

In case you can't tell, I'm for same-sex marriage. While something like polygamy would require much larger reforms to marriage-related laws, same-sex marriage only requires substituting "he" for "she," and so on, or the inverse, really. The only logical reasons that come to mind as to why to be against it are the two I mentioned previously, which are in fact both extremely illogical - if a church doesn't want to marry a gay or lesbian couple, it doesn't have to, but has no place forcing that belief on other institutions, and the fact that you don't like homosexuals is clearly no excuse for denying others their rights either.

not to mention that humans and dolphins are not the only documented species that have sex for reasons other than reproduction. many primate species do as well for a variety of seemingly functional reasons, including social bonds. if people should only have sex for reproduction, then by that logic folks who are unable to have kids shouldn't have sex, but no one is going to go up to someone infertile and say "hey, you having sex even though you can make a baby is wrong, stop it." that would be ludicrous and insensitive.

there are also many examples of same-sex acts in the animal world in almost every species, so it isn't unnatural. and, quite frankly, i think something being "unnatural" is a bullshit excuse. you know what is also unnatural? sitting here arguing with someone hundreds if not thousands of miles away. playing games online. sitting for large amounts of time during the day. these are all things done on a daily basis by almost everybody, so if the argument that something is unnatural and therefore inherently wrong is, to be simple, stupid. modern technology is unnatural, but does that mean it's wrong to have and we should immediately terminate all of it? no.

and political correctness is not the issue here, though i agree with you. i hate the term, because it implies being a respectful, decent, empathetic human being is political. it's not, it's just being a decent person and thinking before you speak or act, something we're all taught to do from the time we can understand the idea.
