I'm about to write my trainer's profile, and I've decided to have their first RP as their first day in Furoh. The only problem is, the four pokemon I've picked seem to be far apart in Hoenn (where they come from). I don't want him to have been all over Hoenn and only have four pokemon, as this doesn't make much sense to me. So my question is, do the pokemon's locations have to be EXACTLY the same as in the games?

I try not to mention my character when being modly, but the example fits the question: Before coming to Furoh, Jaima had never left Johto except for a cruise he took with his family, and it was little more than a trip in the waters between Kanto and Johto, which are connected by land anyway). Yet he has pok!mon from all four regions. So there are ways to get pokémon that might not be near you. -------------------- |

Well, considering the fact that none of the starter Pokemon are in the "No Eggs" group, they could have easily been bred.

The way I see it, is that any Pokémon, bar legendaries and fossil Pokémon, can be caught in any region. As long as it makes sense for a certain Pokémon to be in a certain location, like having a Finneon in the seas of Kanto. Finding a Sneasel in a volcano would be a no-no, though. If it makes sense, then go with it. Just think about a Pokémon's basic habitat, and work on it.
Also, Pokémon could have been given as gifts; there are several ways to acquire Pokémon that catching them isn't the only option. I would say go with things that make sense. -------------------- Intuitive Aptitude, a small forum, has recently begun a Pokémon Roleplay project called Team Wars.
