"Chaos, come back right now!" Young girl with long, straight, chestnut brown hair was chasing after another girl that looked exactly the same except for short, fluffy, black tail. Girl with tail was grinning and didn't slow down at all, despite being called back. Suddenly girl without the tail jumped however she didn't calculate her own strength and ended up laying on her stomach on ground. But while she fell she manages to grab onto tail of chased girl. As she did girl transformed into Zorua that now happily crawled on head of his on ground rolling trainer.
Her name was Rosebel Frye and once again Chaos - her Zorua, had transformed into her and ran away to scare people in Daas Town. However people were not surprised now anymore as this was now become regular sight.
"How many times have I told you that you can't transform into me and go running around the town?" Rosebel got up from the ground, cleaning dirt of her clothes and scolding pokemon which was comfortably laying on her head.
"Zor-Zorua!" Chaos responded happily as each and every one of these chases was big amusement to him. Rosebel carefully lifted him of her head and took out his pokeball. With bright flash of light Zorua returned to his pokebal without any struggling.
Rosebel smiled and she put pokeball of Chaos in her bag because she kind of started to enjoy these games as well. Then she quickly turned around and ran back to her house where her grandparents were already waiting for her. Rosebel's grandparents house wasn't big, but it was her home and she loved it dearly. It was white with two floors, balcony on second floor and garden all around the house. On side of house beautiful flower vines had spread all across the wall giving house nice natural touch and making it blend in with town. In Daas all houses were like this because here nature was very important and it wasn't rare to see some wild pokemon in town.
As Rosebel entered her house, her grandparents smiled at her and came closer to pull their granddaughter in tight embrace.
"I can't believe that you'll already leaving us!" Grandmother said with a smile however Rosebel could notice sad note in her voice.
"Don't worry! I'll definitely come and visit you often," Rosebel said and gently kissed her grandmother on cheek.
"Just please be very careful! You can never know what kind of people you might meet," grandfather warned Rosebel as he took her bag and slid some food inside and then put it back on her shoulder.
"Don't worry, I'll be careful and I'll always have my pokemon by my side to protect me!' Rosebel replied with confidence and then embraced her grandfather once more.
"Call us when you reach Petropolis, okay?" Grandmother asked and Rosebel just nodded with smile.
Then she waved her grandparents goodbye and set her way to Petropolis to finally start adventure of her own.
This is my first roleplay so I'm sorry if I messed something up. Anyone is free to join it, so we all can have some fun! ^^
Jazmine stared at the town Fidona as the ferry rode along the waves towards the mainland. She already missed the small island, her temporary home in Furoh. The small island was all she had in this strange new world, though she quite missed her old home. She planned to travel throughout the region, and her main priority was the town of Petropolis. Though she would have to travel miles to reach the town from Barley, she supposed it wasn't all to difficult.
Next to her was her best friend, Quill. Quill was only a Cyndaquil, though it didn't bother her at all. Quill stared out at sea, and shuddered. She had never liked water, considering she was a Fire type, and hated riding boats. Jamine giggled at her, and looked back out at the ocean.
One of the Pokéballs on her belt started shaking, and her Eevee appeared. The Eevee, she had named Jolt, quickly realized they were on a boat, and scampered to the center of the deck, squealing with terror.
"Don't you worry, now," Jazmine laughed. "You'll be all right, Jolt. Even Quill isn't as scared as you!" Quill puffed up her chest, and acted like she were stronger than Jolt. Jolt just buried his head under his paws.
Jazmine stared at the remaining Pokéball on her belt, and decided t let her Riolu, Jagd Wolf, come out and py with the others. She grabbed it, and threw it up. Jagd Wolf quickly exited the Pokéball, and stared at her.
"Go on, now," she replied to his stare. With a happy squeal he dashed over to Jolt, tackling the little Eevee playfully. Quill followed after him, and in a flash the three qere joyfully playing with eachother.
I hope we all make it, she thought to herself, staring out to the sea. Just maybe we will...
As Rosebel got out of city she decided to let her pokemon out of their pokeballs so they could enjoy the blissful sunny weather.
"Come on out, Chaos, Harmonia, Blaze!" Rosebel called and let three pokeballs fall on ground. First appeared charmander, then zorua and only after little while ralts shyly showed up. Harmonia was still a baby so she was still was very fragile and quite unaware what the big world holds. Blaze and Chaos without any hesitation ran around looking at flowers and berries that had fallen around trees. Harmonia however quickly ran over to Rosebel and clung onto her leg.
"Don't be afraid, there's nothing dangerous around here," Rosebel said and smiled at little pokemon. She slowly took Harmonia in her arms and went up to one of berry trees. Carefully Rosebel plucked a berry and gave it to her ralts. For while Harmonia just stared at berry but then she carefully took one bite out of it.
"Ral!" She cheered and quickly ate rest of her berry. Rosebel let her down to go and run freely.
"Go on! There are plenty of berries around!" She encouraged her pokemon. Chaos too soon came up to Harmonia with another delicious berry which she happily ate.
"Well, I think we should move on, I'm sure there will be more berries on our way to Petropolis," Rosebel said and she got approving calls from her pokemon. Chaos offered Harmonia ride on his back since she was still quite clumsy. Harmonia was only happy to have someone carry her.
After a while Rosebel reached crossroad that had map of whole Furoh region drawn on side of road. She carefully checked map and noticed that on the way to Petropolis was Crystal Lake that had many water type pokemon around it.
"Hey, guys! What do say if we stop by the lake to rest before we head for big city?" Rosebel turned to her pokemon and asked them with smile.
"Char!" "Zorua!" "Ralts!" All pokemon cheered because they knew that lake means water and water means berry trees. Rosebel and her team already started walking towards the lake when suddenly she heard rustling in near by bushes. Rosebel instantly froze and then slowly turned her head towards rustling bushes. For about minute she just stared intently at bushes until they finally stopped rustling.
"Must have been some budew or something," Rosebel said more to herself then her pokemon. She already wanted to continue her way when suddenly wild exeggutor jumped out of bushes right onto defenseless Harmonia. Instinct took over Rosebel and she quickly grabbed little pokemon before exeggutor could squash her with its weight. Blaze and Chaos lunged towards enraged wild pokemon to distract it from their trainer.
"Blaze, attack it with scratch!" Rosebel called out her charmander and he quickly launched himself at the exeggutor. However it moved aside before Blaze could hit it. Then it jumped high up and took aim for Blaze.
"Blaze, quickly get away from there! It's trying to use stomp!" Charmander managed to roll away quick enough so he didn't get hit by exeggutor. It that attack would have succeeded then Blaze would a pancake. Literally.
"That's it, I'm mad now, you overgrown piece of weed! Blaze, use ember!" Blaze inhaled deep breath and then spit out fire towards the exeggutor. It out of panic tried to duck down to dodge attack however small stream of fire still caught onto its leaves. For while it just run around panicking with fired up head. That was quite a sight. Finally Blaze bored of this panicking plant put leg in front of it so it tripped and landed right into pile of sand. Luckily sand put out the fire however exeggutor didn't move. Must have fainted, nothing serious, it will wake up after a while.
"I think we better leave that guy be," Rosebel said awkwardly and her pokemon agreed. With exeggutor out of way, she could now continue her way to Petropolis.
Jazmine steppd onto the lush grass that spread out forever in front of her. She breathed in heavily; it was good to be on the mainland at last. Jagd Wolf followed quickly and quietly, while Quill and Jolt flung themselves onto the grass.
"You two are such a mess," she laughed to Quill and Jolt, who were now completely filthy from rolling in the grass. She brushed off the little Eevee's coat while Jagd Wolf took off the remains of grass on Quill. Quill looked down in embarassment, while Jolt sat proudly, with a huge grin on his tiny face. "Well," she started, looking over the unfamiliar landscape. "Time to go!"
Jazmine got up, and started walking. Jagd Wolf quickly followed, while Quill and Jolt struggled to get up.Both her and Wolf giggled. The two are so young and reckless, Jazmine thought.
"Ri-ri-riolu!" Wolf yelled over to the other two. He ran over to them and started circling them, all three of the Pokemon laughing like crazy.
"Cyndaquil!" Quill chirped loudly, sprang up from the ground, and ran towards Jazmine. "Cyn-Cyn?" she asked Jazmine.
"Of course," Jazmine replied to the little Cyndaquil, giving her three berries. "Anyways, let's not waste any more time, so we better get going."
Jolt got to his feet and rushed over, Wolf following just as quickly. The four of them set out to the town of Barley, which was only in the distance.
Sun was slowly starting to set. Without realizing it, Rosebel had spend too much playing around in one spot then actually moving forward to her goal. She took out her PokeNav out of bag to see where exactly was she now. As she checked the map she realized that she has not gone much further from the place where map of Furoh was.
"Well, we won't make it to Crystal Lake today! We better set camp here," Rosebel said to her pokemon.
"Char!" Blaze answered for all of them agreeing with his trainer. Rosebel smiled and started to unpack the tent she carried with her. She wasn't sure if she'll always find shelter so Rosebel decided to carry one with her at all times. Well, actually it was her grandfather that made her take the tent but never mind that.
"Blaze, you go find sticks and branches for campfire, Chaos, you go find some rocks to put around it so it wouldn't go wild," Rosebel commanded and both pokemon instantly left to search. Harmonia shyly went up to her trainer and pulled onto her sock.
"Ral?" Harmonia asked with the most adorable sad expression.
"You can go and search for some berries, Harmonia!" Rosebel smiled at little pokemon and Harmonia instantly showed serious expression and clumsily hurried towards nearest berry trees. Rosebel just chuckled and started to build tent where she and her pokemon could spend the night.
After little while camp was ready and just in time because sun had almost completely set. Rosebel and all her pokemon were now frying the berries Harmonia had found. And she had found really a lot despite that she couldn't take more then two berries with her at the time.
Sweet aroma of berries had attracted some wild pokemon like Butterfree, Beautifly, Shroomish, Pidove and others. Rosebel didn't deny anyone's company and Harmonia happily shared her berries with all wild pokemon. Just like that surrounded by her own pokemon and bunch of wild ones Rosebel Frye slowly drifted into sweet night dreams.
Anita gazed out of the helicopter, bored. After the excitement in Starfall Field, this was resolutely the single most anti-climactic ending she could have imagined. She had seen all four of the legendary Regis, survived a HUGE meteor shower, and she had caught a new Pokemon. That was the most adventure she had ever had, let alone dreamed of. She smiled to herself as her hand went mindlessly to her pocket where the sparkling treasure, a single Star Piece gleaned by Fluffy from that enormous chunk of of killer space rock that now lay harmless behind her.
Fluffy, her Growlithe, snoozed contentedly in her lap. The warm little fire Pokemon drooled a little, startling her out of her thoughts. She looked down at him, and decided not to wake him. Instead, she called out to the pilot of the helicopter. "Excuse me, mister? Where is this chopper going?" she quipped. The pilot seemed rather relieved when he said Petropolis City, wherever THAT was. Nodding, Anita settled back to wait for their arrival. She was filthy, tired, hungry and needed to go to the Pokemon Center to heal her Pokemon. She closed her eyes for a nap.
Dozing fitfully in the helicopter as it sped towards Petropolis, she couldn't wait to be on solid ground again. Hopefully this time without the hazards of space debris falling on her head.
Bright morning sun was shining right into Rosebel's eyes making her hide hear head under blanket.
"Char!" Blaze called out to his trainer and tried to pull down blanket from her.
"Just little bit longer," Rosebel mumbled and clung onto blanket so tight that charmander could not move it. Blaze let go of the blanket and left the tent. For short while Rosebel thought that she heard some mumbling but after a while it stopped so she didn't pay any attention to it and continued to sleep.
"Char!" "Ralts!" "Zor!" Yelling in all their voice Harmonia, Chaos and Blaze jumped on Rosebel with all force making her jump out of her "bed" immediately. Rosebel slowly looked down at 3 little rascal with annoyed expression.
"You did it again!" She said as lock of her uncombed hair fell right on her face giving her ridiculous almost drunken look.
"Zorua!" Chaos proudly cheered. For moment it seemed that Rosebel would get angry but then she laughed and patted Chaos.
"Let's go!" Rosebel said as she crawled out of the tent and took deep breath. It was already 9 am and without any ado Rosebel quickly folded up the tent, took out fire in camp and set back to road. Since there were still some way to go until Crystal Lake, Rosebel decided that she shall eat breakfast on her way.
This time she called pokemon back in their pokeballs to catch up with distance they had lost yesterday due all the playing around. And her plan didn't go in vain because after 3 hours of non-stop walking Rosebel was finally able to spot Crystal Lake. Already from far away it looked beautiful so Rosebel could not wait to get closer to it.
Anita woke up sometime around noon. Yawning loudly, she began a very gratifying, full-body stretch. As she stretched her arms up, she began to straighten out her back, then her legs, finally pushing her hips up off of her seat. This last motion unceremoniously dumped the still sleeping Fluffy onto the floor. "Grow? RUURRUFF!" he yelped in surprise. He rolled off Anita's lap and landed on the floor in a heap.
"Hey, everything all right back there?" called the pilot. He had been startled enough by Fluffy's yelp to swerve the helicopter, further startling the Growlithe and Anita, too. "Sorry about that dip. You two have been asleep for almost a whole day!" he called. "What?! No way!" Anita called back. "Are we there yet?" The pilot said, "Not yet, but we're coming up on Crystal Lake. I need to land for a break. Do you mind?" Anita looked at Fluffy who had managed to get up onto his feet. "Well?" she asked. Fluffy barked then he whimpered. He started to do the potty dance. ~Oh, crud!~ Anita thought. "We need to get off anyways! Fluffy's gotta pee, BAD!" she told the pilot. "Okay! We're gonna land in a few minutes. He can hold it... Right?" he asked, worriedly. Anita shouted a confirmation, and the pilot began making adjustments.
Anita looked out the window again. She was met with the most beautiful sight she could wish for. A lake of pure, crystalline water surrounded by trees and perfect for Pokemon of all types was coming into view. Fluffy began to wag his tail at the sight, pee break momentarily forgotten. The pilot executed a perfect sweeping landing in a clearing not too far from the water. The clearing was right next to a road leading off in another direction. Anita thought she could see a person coming in the direction of the helicopter but she wasn't too sure.
As soon as the blades stopped whirling, the pilot came back and opened the door for her and her Pokemon. Fluffy immediately jumped down and took off running for the trees. Anita followed the pilot out and promptly realized that her legs were asleep. "Oof!" she cried, falling to her knees. "Owie. I've been sitting way too long!" The pilot had strode off in Fluffy's wake. Nature called! And Anita was no stranger to it at that moment, either. The need to pee got her up and hobbling in the same direction as the other two.
As Rosebel got closer to lake she heard loud roaring sound come from up the sky. As she looked up she saw helicopter fly directly towards Crystal Lake. She followed helicopter with her eyes and saw it land near lake. After propeller stopped, 2 people and pokemon jumped out of it. She couldn't see much from this far but it seems that one of them is full grown man, probably the pilot, other one is a girl and the pokemon could be either a growlithe or vulpix. Rosebel couldn't tell yet, she just saw that pokemon had redish fur.
"Seems like we will meet some interesting people," Rosebel said and continued her way to lake. The closer she got the more fascinated Rosebel was. Water in lake was crystal clear and emitted sparkles from sunlight and clear water. Rosebel smiled and started running towards the lake so she could take a closer look.
Many pokemon had gathered around there. There was lotad, goldeen, marill, magicarp, poliwag and all sorts of other pokemon. Rosebel squealed out in joy and called out her pokemon. As they appeared from their pokeballs they were just as stunned as Rosebel.
"Time to swim!" Rosebel exclaimed and in matter of seconds she had already changed into her green bikini swimsuit. Harmonia and Chaos instantly jumped into water and Rosebel soon followed them. Blaze however didn't like water so he just laid down in sun to rest up a little bit. Young trainer happily played with her pokemon in crystal clear water enjoying its warmth and cleanness.
Suddenly something sprayed into her eyes, blurring Rosebel's vision. For moment Rosebel just tossed around until she heard laugh of some pokemon. She quickly washed black fluid out of her eyes and turned her vision to source of laughter. It was a horsea that was rolling around in water and laughting loudly.
"Why, you little! Better come and fight, little coward!" Rosebel called out to sassy pokemon. Horsea stopped laughing and came closer to Rosebel and wiggled its back fin. She had accepted Rosebel's challenge.
"Fine, I'll show you! Chaos you're up!" Rosebel commanded and zorua jumped on one of rocks in water to see his opponent better.
"Hor-Horsea!" Pokemon called and started shooting bubbles towards Chaos.
"Chaos, go underwater and then use Scratch!" Chaos instantly did as told, avoiding stream of bubbles and fastly heading towards horsea. Wild pokemon couldn't react fast enough and got hit by zorua's attack sending her deeper into water. However she wasn't beaten yet! Horsea dove deeper into lake disappearing from Rosebel's sight.
For a while everything was quiet. Seems like even pokemon around stopped their deeds and were intently looking at battle. Suddenly horsea jumped out of water and sent another stream of bubbles towards Chaos. This time he couldn't dodge in time and got hit pretty badly. Luckily he was standing on the rock so he wouldn't drown.
"Hang in there, Chaos!" Rosebel called out to her pokemon. Slowly zorua got back on his feet, showing that he could still fight.
"Good! Chaos finish that little troublemaker! Use pursuit!" When she hear Rosebel's command Horsea tried to flee underwater to avoid the attack, but that was big mistake. Chaos gathered dark energy around it and shoot it towards fleeing opponent. Horsea didn't even get to blink when beam of black had sent her flying across surface of lake.
"Ralts!" Harmonia called out and handed Rosebel pokeball. While she was battling, Harmonia had gone back to shore and took one pokeball out of her trainer's bag pack.
"Nice idea, Harmonia! Pokeball, go!" Rosebel exclaimed and threw pokeball towards beaten Horsea. It hit her and sucked horsea into pokeball. For while it wiggled on surface of lake but then familiar "klink" resounded, showing that capture was a success. Rosebel took pokeball of her newly caught pokemon and showed it to Harmonia, Chaos and Blaze who had come closer to water to see the battle.
"We got new friend! Her name is Crystal!" Rosebel proudly announced.
Jazmine took her first step into Barley. The town was really small, and smelled faintl of fish. SHe stared in amazement; they didn't have anything like this back home.
"Come on, everyone" she motioned to her Pokemon to get moving through the town. Jagd Wolf and Quill quickly walked further into town, though Jolt held his nose and sat down.
"Ee-eevee!" Jolt complained. Jazmine picked up the little Eevee, and Jolt immediately started struggling.
"Jolt," she groaned. "You'll get used to the fish smell." She held onto him as tightly as possible and followed her other two pokemon.
"Cynda-cyn!" Quill cried, clearly liking the new surroundings. She peered the buildings, none of them more than one story tall. SHe raced over to a Machoke and a Hariyama, who were clearly helping out with loading fish onto boats. "Cyndaquiil!" Quill excitedly said to the Hariyama.
"Quill, don-!" Jazmine quickly yelled to the little Cyndaquil, only it was too late. The Hariyama turned on the little Cyndaquil, and picked her up, throwing her over to a building, where she hit the wall with a soft 'thump!'
Jagd Wolf ran over to Quill to help her up. Jazmine ran over to the Hariyamas owner. "Sorry..." she told the man, who was almost as scary looking as the Hariyama.
The man stared her down, creeping her out. "No kidding," he muttered, clearly angry. "Your little Cyndaquil over there is disrupting my business." He looked her over. "Say, you're not from here, are you?"
Jazmine stared at the man with an odd look. "No, I'm not..." she replied, creeped out. Jolt hid behind her leg.
"Well, then," the man replied scratching her head. "Sorry about that, then. I guess you don't know much about our little town of Barley? Say, where ya headed to?"
"Petropolis," Jazmine groaned. "I guess it's time we get going. Quill, Jagd Wolf, stop messing around, we're leaving." Quickly picking Jolt back up again, she ran towards the route that would lead her to Petropolis, Wolf and Quil following as quickly behind her.
Anita and Fluffy finished about the same time. Both of them emerged from the trees just in time to hear a girl announcing something about a crystal. Looking in the direction of the water, Anita saw a young girl in a bright green swimsuit holding a pokeball. Curious, Anita motioned to her Growlithe to assume their "sneaky" positions.
The two of them edged back into the trees, staying low and out of sight. Anita and Fluffy had practiced doing this before, usually when they needed to avoid wild Pokemon. This time, however, they both had mischief in mind.
The two troublemakers got right to the waters edge. Snickering, Anita gave Fluffy the signal to use Howl. He took a deep breath and planted all four paws firmly on the ground. Throwing back his head, he let loose a bloodcurdling howl that sounded very, VERY much like a Houndoom.
Anita looked hopefully in the direction of the girl and her Pokemon. She wanted to see if Fluffy's howl would produce the desired effect. If it did, coupling it with Fluffy's Intimidate ability would be more than unnerving in a coordination battle. What she didn't expect, however, was their pilot to run screaming in terror towards the helicopter, start the darn thing and fly out of there as quickly as he could.
Dumbfounded, she and Fluffy watched their transport vanishing into the distance. Anita couldn't believe her luck for a moment. That was NOT what she had expected. She turned her attention to her original victims to gauge how they reacted.
Rosebel was overjoyed that she finally caught her first pokemon that she completely lost sense of surroundings. Harmonia was overjoyed as well because she was the one that came up with idea to catch Crystal.
Suddenly loud noise broke their joy. Chaos and Harmonia instantly panicked and ran away to shore to hide. Rosebel and Blaze however stood their ground and turned against the enemy. It was a intimidating looking girl and a growlithe which was the source of noise.
Rosebel already wanted to command Blaze to attack, but then she heard same helicopter sound from before. She looked at direction of it and saw how pilot alone panicked from growlithe's roar flew away. Rosebel looked back at the girl and understood that her pilot drove away even though she actually wanted to scare Rosebel.
"Hahaha! I think your pilot drove away without you," Rosebel said to intruder and chuckled how her mischief had turned against her. Harmonia and Chaos soon came out of their hiding places when they saw that the disturber was just another pokemon. Chaos laughed at them as well, but Harmonia actually went up to growlithe.
That was something Harmonia usually didn't do because she was extremely shy. However now Harmonia happily cheered at growlithe seeing it as her new friend. Rosebel watched other training intently to see how will she react.
The Howl had produced a decent effect on some of the Pokemon. They had run away looking utterly terrified. The trainer and her fire-type, however, hadn't. A little disappointing, but a good sign that this person might be strong. Anita was about to ask her name, until the girl laughed.
Anita stood there, embarrassed to the point of blushing profusely as the girl laughed at her. Starting at the comment that the green-clad girl made, she decided that she immediately liked her. "Yeah," she said, good-naturedly. "I didn't expect that. Guess having Fluffy try to sound like a Houndoom wasn't the best idea... Most people hate them, but I don't know why." She reached down and patted her Growlithe. She smiled at him as he wagged his tail.
Looking up, she saw a small Ralts walking over. "Fluffy, play nice." She instructed him as she and Fluffy came out of the trees. Nodding, Fluffy walked over to the young Pokemon and sniffed her. "Gruuuuuu..." he cooed. Fluffy immediately began nuzzling it.
Anita giggled at the sight of the two of them. They were a rather cute pair. "I'm Anita, by the way." she quipped. Flipping her hair back out of her face, she looked at the girl. "Who're you? And, you wouldn't happen to know how to get to Petropolis City, would ya? That's where we were going before we scared our pilot..." She blushed even more at that realization.
Rosebel smiled as she saw that girl means no harm to neither her nor her pokemon. Rosebel was actually quite surprised to see the girl blush because she seemed like tough kind of girl. However she liked this girl, because she looks like really nice trainer, only just like Rosebel's Chaos, likes to play around a little.
Rosebel stepped out of warm lake water and came closer to the girl. She introduced herself to be Anita and from what Rosebel heard, growlithe's name was Fluffy. Anita also asked if Rosebel knew way to Petropolis because that's were she was heading before she scared her pilot away and at that note she blushed again.
"Yeah, I know way to Petropolis. Actually I'm heading there myself, just stopped by the lake to take a rest. And my name is Rosebel," she explained to Anita and smiled at her.
"If you want, you can come with us," Rosebel offered. Suddenly Chaos turned into Anita, surprising her, Fluffy and wild pokemon that were around there at the time. Chaos already wanted to jump at Anita to scare her even more but Rosebel managed to catch onto his tail before he did thus turning him back to zorua.
"Don't worry, that's how Chaos shows that he likes you," Rosebel said as she held little zorua in her arms to prevent him from scaring Anita any further.
"Man," Jazmine groaned. "How much longer to Petropolis?"
Jazmine and her team had stopped off at a Pokemon Center. Apparently, since there were no cities, the builders of Pokemon Centers had to build some out in the middle of nowhere.
Again, Jazmine groaned, taking a sip of her soda. "Really, how much longer? I'm completely tired to the bones." She shook her head, trying to stay awake.
"You've got quite a while," Nurse Joy replied, and walked into the backroom.
Jazmine looked over at her Pokemon. Naturally, Jolt and Quill were fast asleep, but Jagd Wolf was looking out the window.
"Here," she said to Wolf, and handed him a berry. "Eat up, you'll need all the energy you van possibly get."
Wolf stared at te berry for a sort pause, then grabbed it out of her hand, slowly eatng it. "Ri-ri-riolu." he sighed.
"I know, it seems like forever since we saw ohome," Jazmine replied somberly. She looked at the little Riolu, who was staring at the unfinished remains of his berry. "But, don't worry! We'll be there in no time!"
Jagd Wolf looked over, and Jazmine hugged the little guy. "Ri-ri!" He happily replied, and quickly ate the rest of the berry. Jazmine laughed, and apparently woke up Jolt, who was laying on the chair, dazed.
"Ee-eevee." He growled bitterly, and got up onto his feet. He wobbled for a second, and straightened himself up. "Eevee!" he growled, angrily and proud at the same time.
Picking up Quill, who was fast asleep, she stood up. "Ready to go yet, you two?" she joyfully replied with a smirk. "Time to start up this adventure!" She patted Jolt and Wolf's heads, and together they all walked out of the Pokemon Center.
Anita stared as the little pokemon turned into a near-duplicate of her. She couldn't help but wonder what it was. Chaos was definitely a good name for it though, as she could already think of a number of ways that it would be extremely fun to use a shape-shifting ability like that for. Watching Rosebel catch Chaos by the tail, forcing it to turn back, she wondered where to find that kind of Pokemon.
"Great! I'm glad we met." Anita said. "I'm not exactly from around here, so I don't really know my way around. I'm acrually from Viridian City. My parents dragged me out here." Anita watched as the girl climbed out of the water. She immediately took of her ever-present backpack and began rooting for a towel. Locating one, she tossed it to her new travelling companion. "Here."
As Rosebel got out of water, Anita quickly searched through her backpack and threw her a towel. Rosebel smiled at her as saying thanks and wiped herself up.
"I myself wasn't born here. I'm originally from Litteroot Town but later I moved to Daas town. Actually I don't I would know my way around Furoh on my own, I just got PokeNav to guide me there," Rosebel said and returned towel back to her new friend.
"How about we stay here for tonight, but tomorrow we go Petropolis?" Rosebel offered while putting her clothes back on.
Anita caught the towel in her right hand, then slung it over her left shoulder with an expert flick. "Sure." she said. "I need to get to the Pokemon center, soon though. My Pokemon need to rest." She looked at Fluffy and his new friend and decided to let him stay out of his ball. She reached down and took another Pokeball off of her belt.
She looked at it for a moment, trying to decide if she was going to open it. She flicked her wrist, sending it flying up into the air. ~Pop!~ It opened, spewing a rather tired looking Golett into a sitting position on the ground at her feet. "Okay, Junk! I think it's time to feed you." she said happily to it.
The Pokemon glared balefully at her, if it could be called that. Then it began looking around slowly taking in its surroundings. Anita began rooting around in her backpack. "Aha! Found it." she said suddenly. She pulled her berry pouch out of her bag. A single chocolate bar and some rather smushed looking berries were inside. Anita turned to Junk and squatted down in front of it. Offering it the bag she asked, "See anything ya like?"
Junk seemed to inspect the contents of the bag. Tilting his head to the side he suddenly reached in and pulled out the bar of candy. Reaching up, it grabbed the top of its head lifting it back to reveal what must have been its mouth. And shoved the whole thing, wrapper and all, into it! "Wha?! That's mine!" Anita cried jumping up. The Golett just ignored her and closed its head/mouth. Junk began making a whirring noise, kind of like a blender, and shook around. When that stopped, it emmitted a clicking noise.
Looking up at the berry pouch still in Anita's hand, the little Pokemon got up onto its feet rather clumsily. "Gooooollooo?" it said, questioningly. "Gooo. Leett? Goleeetttt?" Junk reached up both hands and made grabbing motions at the pouch.
Anita stood there looking rather angry. "Oh, hoh ooh, no! Uh uh. NO!" she said. "That was my last one. And you just ate it!" Anita stomped her foot in frustration. She loved her chocolate, and her new Pokemon had just ate the very last one she had! She wasn't going to be able to get any more til she got to Petropolis City, which was Arceus knew how far away!
Anita held out the Pokeball and pressed the button on it. "Return. NOW!" she said. Junk looked rather sad, but it complied when the beam of red light touched it. As her Pokemon returned to its ball Anita turned to Rose and said, "Well, I am officially out of chocolate. You wouldn't happen to know how to cook, would you? I'm hopeless at it." Anita blushed yet again as she spoke and tried to cover this by becoming very intent on placing Junk's ball just so on her belt.
Rosebel looked how Anita let out her Golett to feed it and how it ate her last chocolate bar. She seemed pretty upset about it and Rosebel couldn't help but chuckle a little. Bit embarrassed Anita asked Rosebel if she could cook and admitted that she wasn't good at it.
"Don't worry, I can cook. I just need the ingredients. Guys, come here for a minute," Rosebel smiled and called her pokemon to gather around. Without any ado Chaos, Harmonia and Blaze gathered around their trainer.
"I need you guys to get me ingredients for our dinner. Chaos, you go search for some edible mushrooms, Blaze you search out the plain over there to see if there are any vegetables there and you Harmonia, will search for the berries," Rosebel instructed her pokemon and they quickly scattered around to search.
Rosebel then took out one pokeball out of her bag and threw it into water. It popped open and newly caught horsea came out.
"Hey, Crystal, are you feeling fine?" Rosebel asked to make sure that battle from before had not exhausted her too much.
"Hor-Horseaaa!" Crystal cheered showing that she has plenty of strength.
"That's great! If you can could you please catch some fish or little crabs?" Young trainer asked and Crystal moved her fin in agreement. She dove underwater and headed deeper in to search.
"I'll go and look for everything else I can find. Anita, please make campfire while I'm gone," Rosebel said and quickly ran off to search for more ingredients leaving Anita alone with her pokemon.
Anita watched as Rose and her Pokemon scattered, each assigned a task. Rose said to start a campfire. Nodding in agreement, she turned to Fluffy. "Well, that's one thing we can do, eh?" she said. "Groow! Ruff ruff!" Fluffy barked excitedly. Anita picked up her backpack and pulled her arms through the straps.
Fluffy immediately began to dig a hole to light the fire in. Anita went off into the woods in search of firewood and some rock to ring the pit with. As she went further in, Anita pulled out another Pokeball and opened it, releasing her Snivy Excalibur. "Svita? Sveee!" he snarled. Looking fiercely at Anita, he used his cane to straighten his white top hat. "Sveeeeeeeeeee..." He immediately jumped forward and whacked her shins with his cane. "OW!" she yelped.
Dancing back out of his reach, she snapped, "If you don't mind, I need your...... "expertise", if you would, at finding good wood for the campfire for our DINNER!" This got Excalibur's attention. Tilting his head quizzically, he pointed to himself and asked, "Svee?" Anita nodded and said, "I get to find the rocks. And carry them. So that means I get to do the heavy lifting. Plus," she noted, "You know better than I do what plants are good to eat and what good wood is like."
Excalibur nodded and turned away. Looking around him for a moment, he decided which direction to go. Skipping away happily at his trainer's flattery, he began to pick up any good pieces of wood for the fire. "Phew!" Anita said, as her Snivy wandered off. "That settles that. Now for those rocks..."
Anita began searching for some good sized rocks that she could carry back. Finding a few she liked that weren't too big, she took off her backpack and proceeded to load them in after brushing most of the dirt off. When she had enough, she began picking her way back towards camp. When she emerged from the trees, a rather disgruntled Fluffy yapped at her. Looking at the unpleasant face he made in the direction of Excalibur, she knew what had rubbed his fur the wrong way. That dastardly little brat had piled up enough wood to build a house with! And he had perched himself at the very top, proud as a peacock! Anita couldn't help but giggle loudly at the sight.
Rosebel run off quite far away from lake searching for ingredients, however so far she had only found few apples.
"If I don't find anything soon then I'll make dinner out of my shoes," She growled bit angrily. Rosebel stopped and looked around and oh lucky her, there was farm not to far away. And farm means food. Rosebel ran towards the farm as fast as lighting thus surprising herself where she got all that strength.
As Rosebel entered little farm, she noticed few elderly men talking between themselves. But once they noticed Rosebel they stopped and turned their attention towards her.
"Can we help you, little miss?" Eldest one with big grey beard asked politely.
"Yes! You see I'm making dinner for my friend and our pokemon and I need some ingredients to make it. Could I buy some from you?" Rosebel asked,
"Buy? No!!!" Man instantly rejected Rosebel request however he didn't let her say anything and continued."I'll give you them for free!"
"Really? Is it really alright?" Rosebel asked bit embarrassed of man's sudden kindness.
"Of course! We had great harvest this year! Just give me a second to pack it up," he said and quickly hurried inside of one of near by houses. After 5 minutes he came out with basket filled with carrots, potatoes and loads of other vegetables.
"Thank you so much!" Rosebel bowed down to elderly and ran back to camping spot.
When she finally reached it, she could not believe her eyes. There was a giant pile of woof in middle of camping spot and a snivy with cane and hat was sitting right on top of it.
"Holy cow! How did ALL that get here?!" Rosebel exclaimed in shock.
Anita turned to Rose and immediately spotted the food. She had just opened her mouth to respond when her stomach growled so loudly it drowned out any response she could have made. She snapped her mouth shut in surprise and looked down at her belly. "Er..." she said stupidly. "Excalibur?" Anita pointed to the Snivy sitting atop the pile of wood.
"Svee!" he chirped. The little Pokemon jumped down from his perch and landed gracefully on his feet. As he stood up straight, he used his cane to straighten his top hat. "Snee snivy nee ta!" he said turning to Rose. He looked expectantly at Anita to translate.
Nodding to him, Anita said to Rose,"Excalibur said to say that he is the best at gathering wood out of our group. I'm sure you can see why..." Excalibur puffed out his chest rather proudly. He leaned onto his cane, a very smug look on his face as he looked at the food that Rose was carrying. "Sva. Svee svita sveen." he said rudely to Anita.
"Hey! Just because my cooking sucks, you don't have to assume hers does too!" Anita snapped. Walking over she snatched the top hat off Excalibur's head. As she stood up, she held it out of his reach and stuck her toungue out at him. "SVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" he squealed, angrily. He immediately smacked her on her shins with his cane, causing her to yelp and drop the hat. Anita danced back out of reach with expert timing. The Snivy caught the hat and perched it back atop his head.
Anita looked at her Pokemon with love in her eyes. "This is why I love him so much." she said, turning to Rose. "He's so lively and expressive! I'll get out the others." She took her Pokeballs off her belt one by one and opened them, calling out each pokemon and naming them. "Poof!" ~pop~ Out came a ruffled, teary-eyed Mankey. "Nyan-nyan!" ~pop~ Out came a nearly unconcious Skitty. "You, too, Junk!" ~pop~ The little Golett from earlier landed on his face in the dirt. "You've already met Fluffy, Junk and Excalibur. These are my other friends." she said.
Rosebel chuckled at all the ruckus Anita and her pokemon had caused. It definitely won't be boring together with her. She introduced all her pokemon one by one first mankey, then tired looking skitty, then golett from before and lastly snivy and growlithe, however they looked very exhausted.
"Nice to meet you all! I'll start cooking as soon as my pokemon get back," She said and put the basket with vegetables next to campfire.
After short while, all Rosebel's pokemon came back with the needed ingredients. Chaos was carrying mushrooms on his back, Blaze had few apples, pears and peaches, Harmonia had collected loads of different berries and Crystal had placed lots of tiny crabs on one of the rocks near shore.
"Nice work you guys! I believe I need to introduce my pokemon as well. Charmander's name is Blaze, he's the starter I got from professor in Daas Town; zorua is named Chaos, baby ralts is Harmonia and my newest pokemon horsea is named Crystal," Rosebel explained as she went up to each of her pokemon patted them and took ingredients.
"With all this we can have a feast!" She exclaimed and so did her pokemon.
"Anita, you can finish that fireplace and go rest. I'll take care of cooking," Rosebel said and pulled out a small pot from her backpack.
As Rose introduced each of her Pokemon friends Anita took off her backpack. Rose was right in saying "feast". They had brought back enough food to feed them for both dinner and breakfast. Looking at all that food made Anita's tummy rumble again, so she was glad when Rose said to just finish the fire pit.
Unzipping her backpack, she began taking out the rocks she had found. There were 23 in all, most about the size of her two hand clasped together in a fist. Looking to Fluffy, she said, "Hey Fluffy, think you can make that hole a little bigger and deeper? We've got more than enough wood for a bonfire that'll last all night. Plus I think I got too many rocks." Fluffy barked happily in reply. He jumped right down into the pit he had made and began flinging dirt onto the pile that was already built off to the side of the wood pile.
Fortunately, the excitable little fuzzball had plenty of energy. It didn't take him more than a few minutes to get the pit widened and deep enough. Springing nimbly out of the pit, Fluffy barked and wagged his tail. Landing off to the side of the two piles, he shook a bunch of dirt out of his fur. Excalibur took his cue and began picking up the sticks at the top of the pile. Throwing them down into the pit, he began humming to himself.
When he was done, Anita began placing the rocks around the edge of the pit. She was surprised to see Junk suddenly get up and start helping. The little Golett was unsteady on his feet; maybe he was just unbalanced. Thanks to it however, Anita was able to finish in far less time than she would have on her own. Junk looked sheepishly at his trainer. He seemed to be trying to apologize for eating her chocolate. Anita smiled at him, causing the Golett to trip.
Poof, ever the serious and angry one, laughed when Junk fell. Junk had fallen onto his front and was struggling to get up, limbs flailing in his attempt to right himself. This caused Poof to laugh even harder. When Junk finally righted himself, he turned and angrily ran at Poof, shouting and waving his arms. "Go go go goooooooooo lett!!!" he screamed. A rather cute attempt at Astonish, but effective enough to cause Poof to flinch. Anita ran over to separate the two.
As Anita prepared fireplace, Rosebel already cleaned up all the vegetables and fruit with Crystals help. She blew nice streams of bubbles onto fruits making them clean in no time.
Then Rosebel filled up the pot with water and started to cut potatoes, carrots and cabbages into pot. Afterwards she went to place pot on fire which Blaze had lighted up while Rosebel was cleaning food. When water started to boil Rosebel added few mushrooms and crabs she had cleaned up into soup. Quite an interesting mix however with some spices it actually tasted pretty good.
"Okay, everyone time to eat!" Rosebel said as she poured soup into little cups and placed them onto one big falt bark of wood she found in the giant pile. When it was poured in for everyone, Rosebel turned her attention to fruits and quickly cut them into small pieces so they would be easier to eat.
"After finishing soup, please eat fruits too," Rosebel said as she pulled out little jar of honey out of bag pack. Honey is great to eat with fruits because it gives them even more sweetness and if fruits happens to be sour then taste becomes unusually sweet. Rosebel's pokemon already knew the taste of these fruits so they without hesitating started to eat soup.
Once she had gotten her Pokemon separated they had all flopped down on the grass to wait as their hostess and her Pokemon began to prepare the meal. The Charmander, Blaze had gotten a great fire going. The food didn't take too long to cook, and Anita hadn't really paid much attention to what went into the stew. She had, instead, opted to look at all the wonderful fruit that was piled tantalizingly near Rose.
When Rose had finished cooking, she called ready. Anita and her Pokemon jumped up immediately and ran over. They were hungrier than their host must have guessed. They all began taking handfuls of fruit and a cup of the delicious looking and savory smelling stew. But before any of them had taken a bite, Anita turned to her Pokemon and said, "What do we say?" The replies of obvious gratitude went straight to Rose. Fluffy's tail wagged so hard that he knocked Excalibur's hat flying. It landed in front of Nyan-nyan, who mewled happily to Rose and her Pokemon before picking up the hat and returning it to a rather relaxed Snivy. Poof had stood up and ran over to hug Rose's left leg. Junk followed suit, attaching himself to her other leg. Excalibur, upon receiving his hat back actually held it to his breast and bowed with all the gentlemanly grace of a noble elven lord. Anita, too, thanked her profusely.
As they all began to eat, their faces lit up with untamed glee. Blissful as any of her friends, Anita decided she didn't care if there were mushrooms in the stew, once she noticed them. No matter how much she disliked them, the stew was too darn good to complain about. Instead, she began a raving string of ranted compliments.
Jazmine stared into a small cave formation with her three pokemon. "You think we can sleep here?" Jazmine asked her Pokemon.
"Cyn-cyn!" Quill offered, and with that she blew a small flame to make sure no pokemon were living there. Then, a big bunch of Zubats and a few Golbats came swarming out of the cave, knocking down all four of them.
There was a single straggler out of the pack, and Jazmine thought about it. The Zubat could barely fly, so it would be an easy catch. "How about we make this one a new member?" Jazmine asked the three pokemon.
"Ee-eevee." Jolt replied stubbornly. Jagd Wolf and Quill both seemed to agree with Jazmine, not Jolt.
"All right," Jazmine replied. She got up. "Wolf, you wanna help?"
"Ri-ri-ri!" Wolf replied enthusiastically. He got up and walked over in front of Jazmine.
"Zubat!" Jazmine yeled to the little Zubat. "wanna fight?"
The Zubat seemed to like this, for it flew as best as it could over to Wolf, trying to use Leech Life on him.
"Wolf, dodge!" Jazmine yelled out the command. "Use High Jump Kick!" The little Riolu jumped into the air, and knocked the Zubat down to the ground. Jazmine took out an unused Pokeball, and threw it out at the Zubat.
The Zubat disappeared into the Pokeball, and after three shakes, it clicked. Jazmine picked up the Pokeball and held it up.
"Our new team member," Jazmine shouted. "Zuuy!"
Before Anita and her pokemon started to eat they all thanked Rosebel for her efforts. Junk and Poof even clung onto Rosebel's legs out of gratitude. She just blushed and smiled bit awkwardly as Rosebel always felt bit uncomfortable when so many people and pokemon thanked her.
Then everyone including Rosebel ate the delicious stew and later sweet fruits dipped in honey. Blaze especially liked this snack and it seemed that he would keep eating them forever. Rosebel just laughed at sight of everyone eating and smiled when she noticed that Anita's tired looking pokemon are already feeling bit better.
Suddenly Harmonia pulled onto Rosebel's skirt and pointed her little arm towards the lake. Rosebel looked and what she saw was astonishing. Sun was starting to set and now when it has gone lower everything around the lake and in lake colored into warm orange tone.
"Everyone look over there," Rosebel exclaimed so everyone could see beauty of this evening. Then she noticed something else on the lake. Something was jumping on its surface as if water was solid ground.
"Oh my God! That's suicune! It must be living in Crystal Lake and he's probably the reason why water is always so clean and clear," Rosebel said and all her pokemon watched as graceful creature disappeared into lake.
Jazmine walked along the long path. Her and her pokemon had just entered into a small forest, and the sun seemed to already be setting.
"Let's just hope this forest doesn't take too long," Jazmine sighed, her hand behind her head. Taking out the Pokeball which held her new Pokemon, Zuuy, she stared at it. "Should I let Zuuy out now?"
"Ee-ee." Jolt replied stubbornly. He shook his tiny little head.
"Ri-ri!" Wolf replied.
"Cyndaquil!" Quill replied, just as enthusiastically as Wolf.
Jazmine stopped, then threw the Pokeball up into the air. "Come out, Zuuy!" She yelled, and a red mist flew from the Pokeball, taking shape into a little Zubat.
"Zu-zu!" Zuuy cried out joyfully. He struggled to fly over to Jazmine, though he made it.
"I'll carry you, little buddy," Jazmine said to him. "Don't you worry." She smiled at him.
The five of them continued to walk through the dense forest happily.
Anita and her Pokemon stared in fascination at the Pokemon running across the water of Crystal Lake along with the others. Mouth agape, she stood up and walked closer to the water. Her eyes began to tear up, blurring her vision. She had never thought she would ever see this sight. Closing her eyes, she remembered all the stories that her mother used to tell her when she was little about the mystical water Pokemon.
"Suicune runs about, swift as the North wind." she had said once. "It cleans any mucky water it finds, keeping our world clean and pure for all." Anita wiped the tears from her eyes and looked up just in time to see Suicune stop in the middle of the lake. It seemed to turn and look in the direction of their camp for a moment. Then, without warning, it turned away and dashed off, just like in her mother's story.
Unable to contain her excitement, she turned and went to pick something out of her backpack. It was a large notebook. This book was filled with sketches and descriptions of things she and her Pokemon had seen. Many of these were going to be used for contests, others were for the memory they imparted. Anita turned to a fresh page and began to write. When she had finished, she scribbled a quick doodle of the legendary dog standing on the lake.
Rosebel awoke from beauty of the evening and realized that if they don't make tent soon, it'll be almost impossible to do it in the dark.
"We need to set up a tent," Rosebel announced and pulled out neatly packed up tent from her backpack. Quickly she unfolded it and with Blaze's help started to build it.
After good 10 minutes of trying, Rosebel finally managed to finish the tent. She had to admit that tent could not be compared to sleep in bed however that's better the sleeping under open sky. If rain starts during the night everyone will stay dry. Except for tent itself of course.
"I think this tent should have enough space for us all, because it's suppose to hold 4 people in it," Rosebel said to Anita and smiled. Even thought together they had 9 pokemon to fit in there, they weren't too big. Biggest one was probably Junk but even he was just half the size of Anita.
Anita nodded to Rose. "Okay, everyone!" she said. "Time to sleep!" Anita opened her backpack and pulled out a big, water-proofed emergency blanket that was big enough for not only her, but her Pokemon as well. They all piled under it happily. All of them fit comfortably, even Junk had plenty of room.
"Mroooooooooowww!!!" Nyan-nyan suddenly screeched. She came darting out from under the blanket. Running into the tent with her tail up, she started trying to scratch an itchy spot on her rump. "Meow... MROW!" she grunted. Twisting around into the oddest contortions possible, she proceeded to attack her hind end. Finally, she gave up. Miserably, she yowled at Rose for help. "Mewl? Mreeeeeew?"
Anita poked her head out. "Uh-oh!" she said, surprised. "She got bit by a bug pokemon a few days ago, and hasn't stopped itching yet. You wouldn't happen to have anything that might help, would you, Rose?" Anita got up and came over to her Skitty.
Rosebel saw how Anita's skitty was unhappily itching herself. It yelped at Rosebel asking for help and Anita explained that Nyan-nyan was bitten by bug pokemon few days ago.
"Hmmm, let me think," Rosebel said and went through her bagpack to see if she had something against itching. Finally she stumbled across little jar of some sort of cream. Rosebel took it out and read it to find out what exactly is it used for. And of she was so in luck, this was meant against bug bites. Rosebel's grandmother must have put it in her backack, predicting that Rosebel might get some mosquito bites.
"I got just what you need," Rosebel smiled and carefully took little skitty and placed her in Rosebel's lap so she would have better access to her. Carefully Rosebel rubbed the cream into itching place hoping that cream works for pokemon as well. And it did, seems like Nyan-nyan was feeling better already.
"Now when that's settled, let's all go to sleep! Good night!" Rosebel said and comfortably snuggled into her blanket. Blaze laid down next to Rosebel's legs, Harmonia - next to her stomach, Chaos - on Rosebel's stomach and Crystal on her left arm. Rosebel still had hard time sleeping like this because she liked to move around while sleeping however she didn't dare to move a muscle. Rosebel didn't want to trouble her pokemon.
Purring happily, Nyan-nyan came back to Anita and the others. She crawled in under the blanket with everyone. "Night, guys!" Anita said. "Grow! Ruff ruff..." "Svee ta vee!" "Mewl meorow!" "Keeeee..." "Go go? Leeeetttttt...." came the answering cries. Each one varied in tiredness.
Anita and Nyan-nyan curled up together. Fluffy and Poof crammed themselves on either side of Excalibur. Junk decided to nestle in between both groups. Pretty soon, Anita and her pokemon were snoring softly. With the occasional snuffle from Poof, of course.
Junk began glowing about midnight. Anita and Fluffy both woke up and looked at the Golett in bewilderment. "What the...?" Anita mumbled to herself. Fluffy crawled over and sniffed it. Looking at his trainer, he shook his head in awe. Confused at this new turn of events, Anita and Fluffy decided to go back to sleep. They all slept until dawn's first light.
As sun rose, Rosebel and her pokemon slowly started to wake up. First one up as always was Blaze, because he enjoyed bathing in early morning sun. Rosebel and her other pokemon woke up shortly after Blaze and one by one carefully exited the tent so Anita and her pokemon wouldn't wake up.
First Rosebel decided to wash up in lake water. It was a bit chilly but still warm enough to wash in it. After that she once again made stew for everyone, before even Anita woke up. She wanted so everyone could enjoy great breakfast without any unneeded waiting and tummy grumbling.
After an hour Anita was still sleeping so Rosebel decided to wake her up. She wanted to reach Petropolis today so they needed to start journey early so they would finish before dark.
"Anita, wake up! It's time to eat! We need to keep moving!" Rosebel called out to sleeping girl and gently poked her shoulder.
Anita woke to Rose's voice and gentle prodding. She wriggled unhappily under the blanket as her Pokemon awoke and began stretching. "MmmmMMMmrrrf.... GAH!" she groaned. Nyan-nyan dug her claws into Anita's thigh in her attempt to aid Rose in waking the girl.
"YOWCH!!!" Anita yelped. Scrambling to her feet, she extricated her leg from the scratchy-hurting-sharp-in-soft-skin claws of the Skitty. As she got up onto her feet, Fluffy breathed some embers on her bare feet. "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!!!" Anita screamed. She ran straight to the water and cannon-balled in, clothes and all.
Nyan-nyan and Fluffy nodded happily to one and other. They had apparently been trying to get their trainer to bathe. They had, after all, spent an entire night under the blanket with her. Junk sat up at this point and looked askance at the two fur-balls. "Gwooo go?" it asked. "Rowr ruff ruff!" fluffy replied, burying his nose under his paws. Nyan-nyan mewed in agreement.
Junk just shrugged and picked his way out of the covers, Excalibur and Poof following suit. As all her Pokemon exited the Blanket, Anita surfaced. Breaking the top of the water, nearly 50 feet from shore, she looked like a breaching mermaid. Turning towards the camp, she began a powerful breaststroke. ~Splash! Splash! Swoosh!~ Coming back towards the shore, the sound of her approach echoed on the still morning air.
Rosebel watched as Anita dove into lake after Fluffy breathed fire on her feet. She chuckled a little when Anita quickly swam back to shore. Then Rosebel remembered their destination and all the laughter calmed down.
"Everyone, we need to hurry or else we won't make it to Petropolis until night! We still got some way to go," Rosebel exclaimed as she turned everyones attention to herself.
"We need to finish our breakfast quickly and then get moving," she continued and while doing so Rosebel took out towel from her backpack and tossed it towards Anita who was soaking wet from head to toe.
"Zor-Zoruaaaaa!" Chaos whimpered and pointed his leg towards the sky. From far away very dark, almost black clouds started to gather. Without a doubt thunderstorm was coming.
"This can't be good," Rosebel said as she watched dark clouds come closer and and closer.
Anita caught the towel Rose threw to her as she climbed out of the water. She couldn't help chuckling to herself as this scene was now reversed. Only Anita hadn't caught anything but the towel. She began drying herself until Chaos pointed at the thunderheads rolling their way.
"Pffffffffsshht... Figures." she said, rolling her eyes. ~Might as well not even bother if there is gonna be rain.~ Anita thought to herself. She handed the towel back to Rose and went over to her backpack. Squatting down, she opened it and began rummaging around. From another pocket, she pulled out a piece of waterproof tarp. Excalibur and Junk brought the big blanket over, expertly folded thanks to the Snivy's administrations to the clumsy Golett. Anita took it and shoved it into the bottom of the bag.
Zipping up her bag, she recalled all of her Pokemon except Nyan-nyan. The Skitty meowed joyously at her trainer and ran over, jumped onto Anita's shoulder and wrapped herself around the trainer's neck for warmth. Anita unfurled the tarp unceremoniously and turned to Rose.
"Well." Anita said. "Let's get moving. Wanna come under now or when that rain hits us? It's gonna be kinda awkward, but we'll stay dry." she said, motioning to the tarp. She looked rather silly holding the tarp overhead like a tent, but it was better than being soaked any further than she was. That, and Nyan-nyan was purring rather loudly, making this seem like it was something they did often.
Rosebel saw Anita pull out a tarp from out of her bag and hold it above her head. Anita offered for Rosebel to stay underneath so they both would be more or less dry.
"Okay, just give me a second," Rosebel said and recalled everyone except Chaos back to pokeball. Actually she couldn't recall Chaos even if she wanted to, because he hated to travel into pokeball. But Rosebel can't blame him, because it indeed is more exciting to travel outside the pokeball. After recalling everyone, Rosebel with Chaos help quickly folded up the tent and pushed it into her back pack.
"I'm all ready!" Rosebel announced and got underneath the tarp Anita was holding. Chaos comfortably climbed onto Rosebel's shoulder and wrapped her long hair around himself to keep warm.
"Let's go before real storm starts!" Rosebel said and they all started to head towards Petropolis. However barely 5 minutes had passed and rain already attacked them with first drops. It won't take long before weather goes out of control.
As the first drops of rain pelted the tarp, Nyan-nyan mewed softly in Anita's ear. Anita listened to her pokemon for a moment then nodded decisively. "Hold the tarp for a second. Nyan-nyan gave me an idea." she said. She pushed the tarp into Rose's hands and recalled Nyan-nyan into her ball.
Taking off her backpack, Anita dragged out a rather beaten up fold-up Macro bike. It was a gift from her mother from when she had turned 10, and Anita had pulverized it in the following years. It was still a great ride, though, and Anita was glad that she still had it. Unfolding it, she pushed the levers and knobs into place that would keep it from collapsing back into travel-mode.
When she had finished she pulled two folded plastic rods out of the backpack and pushed them into the edges of the tarp. Looking excitedly at Rose, she asked, "You ever ride handlebar before? You'll have to hold the tarp." Anita hoped that if Rose hadn't, she would agree to try. Riding her old Macro would be much faster than walking, but she didn't want to go without her guide.
Rosebel was bit surprised to see Anita pull a Macro bike because she had had never seen bike that could be folded up and just into backpack. Anita asked if Rosebel has ever rode on handlebars because she'll need to hold the tarp.
"Don't worry, I have rode bike plenty of times, just not on handlebars. But I think I can manage," Rosebel said and gave Anita a little mischievous smile. Honestly, Rosebel always enjoyed riding bikes at high speed, only that usually got her into trouble. However that didn't stop from doing it again.
"Zor!" Chaos exclaimed and grinned. He could sense excitement grow in his trainer and of course in himself as well. Chaos hasn't rode a bike before, however he already knew that he will enjoy it.
"Better get on my head, Chaos, we need for bike to be in balance so we don't fall over," Rosebel said and Chaos quickly climbed onto her head. Then she carefully sat down on the handlebars and held tarp above their heads so both Anita and her would be dry.
"Ready when you are!" Rosebel said and gave Anita convincing smile.
Anita nodded to Rose and settled back towards the seat. When Rose sat down and announced she was ready, Anita balanced the bike out and began pedaling. She purposely set off in the direction that her former pilot had been heading. It may not have been as fast as a Mach bike, but her trusty little Macro bike was faster than walking. She began picking up speed as she went, cycling down the path at a good clip. No matter the distance, Anita was good at judging her endurance and stamina.
Confidence welled up in her as the wind whipped her hair about and she was faintly aware of her hair ribbon starting to slip a little. Smiling to herself, she reached up one hand and tightened it into place a little better. She remembered when she had first met her Pokemon. Nyan-nyan had nearly mauled her and dragged Anita off of the roof they were on because of her ribbon coming loose in the wind. That Skitty was her favorite Pokemon so far that she had met.
Looking to the path ahead Anita picked up the pace a little. They were on a good straight, flat stretch of dirt road that looked like it began a gentle slope uphill further on. Anita squinted against a sudden flash of lightning, but held her course true without swerving. She was used to thunderstorms as they had often happened when she was little. The rain began beating down on the tarp Rose held a little harder.
Whizzing up the road, they came to the area where the hill began. Anita began to make her way up. At the top, she saw a signpost with several arrows on it. She pointed this out to Rose and hoped that one of them would be the right one.
Rosebel was impressed at how fit Anita was, because she has been cycling for good while now. Rosebel herself rarely played sports because she was never good at them. Only sport she had ever enjoyed was volleyball.
As Anita cycled her way up the road, sudden bolt of thunder lighted out the dark sky. It took Rosebel all her courage to keep in place and now simply jump off the bike and go hide in some hole. Actually Rosebel has been afraid of thunder ever since she was kid and each time thunder came, she would go and hide into her grandmothers bed.
However now Rosebel kept as cool as possible, simply to not embarrass herself in front of her new friend. Rosebel didn't want to seem weak, but each lighting bolt made her confidence weaker and weaker.
"Zor!" Chaos quietly murmured into Rosebel's ear and covered her eyes with his paws each time lighting struck. Chaos knew all his trainer's fears and he always was there to support Rosebel. That was second reason why Rosebel rarely kept Chaos in his pokeball.
"Thank you," Rosebel said and gently patted her trustworthy Zorua. After a while they reached signpost. As Anita cycled up to it and checked the signs.
"It seems that there is still some way to go till Petropolis however not too far from here there's an inn, where we could stay and rest for awhile," Rosebel explained as she pointed towards direction they needed to head to.
Anita nodded and murmured a quick confirmation to Rose. She turned the bike down the road towards the direction Rose had pointed and began peddaling in a furious fashion to get there as quickly as possible. The wind streaked by as she rode faster and faster. Anita began to slow, however, when she spotted a rather grumpy looking tree thing lumber into the road.
Skidding to a halt, Anita pulled out her PokeDex. "Exeggutor, the evolved form of Exeggcute. The coconut Pokemon. It is called the "Walking Jungle." If a head becomes too big it falls off and becomes an Exeggcute." the dex said. Anita stared at it. She wondered why the Exeggutor looked pissed.
"Uh, Rose?" Anita said. "Why is it looking at us like that?" The green behemoth was glaring at the duo as Anita sat on her bike peeking past Rose and Chaos. The Exeggutor began grumbling angrily and started walking towards them. "Nevermind!" Anita yelled. Suddenly, the bike rocketed forwards and zoomed past the angry, and now bewildered Pokemon as Anita's powerful leg muscles worked furiously.
Whizzing down the road with enough speed to rival a Triathelete on a Mach bike, Anita and Rose practically flew. It took about three minutes to put enough distance between them and the Exeggutor before Anita deemed it safe to slow down. She settled back and let the momentum of their frenzied flight carry them up the road. Anita's breath was quick and a little shallow, but she wasn't too worn out. Anita was secretly thankful for all those boys that had been her friends growing up. All the wrestling, racing and stamina training she had bested them in was paying off.
As Anita continued to cycle towards Petropolis, both girls noticed odd tree on one side of the road. Anita pulled out a Pokedex to check if it was pokemon and indeed it was. And not just any pokemon. When they got closer Rosebel noticed that it was exeggutor whose leaves were bit burned off at the top. Without a doubt it was same exeggutor Blaze set on fire earlier.
For moment there Rosebel wanted to command Chaos to attack, however Anita quickly started to cycle and pasted the mad pokemon in no time. Something as clumsy as exeggutor could never catch up with her. Only thing Rosebel was wondering about is how Anita got so strong. It's bit odd for girl to be so strong and Anita has been cycling for quite a good while now.
Rain became stronger and stronger and raging wind didn't make things any better. Tarp barely protected them from cold water drops and Rosebel couldn't see much either due to the fact that sun was hidden behind dark clouds. Suddenly she noticed faith but warm light coming from afar. That must be inn mentioned on the map.
"Anita, there's the inn we can stay in! Let's go there as fast possible, before we get completely soaked and catch a cold!" Rosebel announced while trying to hold onto tarp that wind despairingly tried to blow away.
Anita looked in the direction Rose had gestured. "Gotcha!" she said. Anita began peddaling a bit faster. They practically flew in the direction of the light. At least until the land dropped out from underneath the bike...
The hill had abruptly dropped into a sheer slope. The road now wound back and forth on the hill before wrapping back around and heading in the direction of what may have been farmlands. It was hard to tell in the gloom, but the brief flashes of lightning showed enough of the surrounding land was furrowed and tilled by expert hands. Trees could be seen all around the fields.
Anita managed to land with Rose safely clasping the handlebars that she rode on. Anita knew better than to swerve, so instead she opted for the bumpier land between the coils of the path. "Hang on, Rose. It's gonna be a bit bumpy!" she cried. The duo bounced and jostled along for a good twenty yards before coming to where the road had come back in the general direction of the inn. As they got back onto the road, Anita sighed with relief. The inn was just a few minutes swift ride from there and the raod was much better than the uneven land around it.
Anita and her passengers arived safely at The Leaping Politoed, as the inn was called. The sign hanging from the lintel depicted a blue and magenta Politoed skipping along a road surrounded by farmland. ~Well, that's interesting... I thought Politoed were green and yellow?~ Anita thought to herself. "Oh, well..." she sighed, shrugging to herself. She said to Rose in a chipper voice, "We're here. Off we get and in we go!" Anita got off her bike and waited for Rose to do the same so that she could fold up her bike.
Rosebel got of the bike as both girls reached inn named The Leaping Politoed. Anita quickly folded up her bike and they entered inn. It wasn't big, however very warm and had this nice atmosphere that reminds you of home. Small fireplace in corner of inn was warming everything up nicely, automatically relaxing both water drenched girls.
"Wow, what a nice place!" Rosebel exclaimed as she looked around. After short while some old grandma climbed down the stairs which very bit too steep.
"Guests! Welcome to Leaping Politoed! Oh my, you both are completely wet! Quickly, leave your bags on floor and come with me," granny said and almost pushed Anita and Rosebel up the stairs. Second floor consisted only of corridors and many doors which lead to rooms where visitors spent their nights. Granny pushed them further until they reached end of corridor where she made girls enter one of many rooms. Without a doubt it was bath, because lockers were placed inside the room and further away there was door that most likely lead to bath itself.
"Quickly, take off your clothes!" Granny ordered while she opened one of lockers and pulled out two baskets which had clothes and towels in them. For while Rosebel hesitated but then decided that nothing bad could happen and slowly started to pull of her wet clothes.
Anita nodded then reached down to her belt. She chose then opened a pokeball and Fluffy popped out. "Grrrrowf!" he exclaimed shaking himself. Looking to his trainer, he wagged his tail. He was obviously happy to be indoors. He sat down by Anita's backpack as she put it down at the Elder's insistence.
"Fluffy, guard." Anita quipped, pointing to hers and Rose's things. Fluffy barked and scooted closer to their bags. She then allowed herself to be ushered up the stairs and into a bath room. Anita was surprised to be told to strip herself, but did so quickly and efficiently. Off came first her shoes and socks, then her shirt and bra, then finally her pants and undies. She gratefully took the basket from the lady and thanked her.
Anita strode across the floor and entered the other room. Looking at the row of baths, she picked the one nearest the door and proceeded to ready it. After she turned on the water, she looked into what contents the basket held. The basket had towels and clothes, she noticed, in addition to some very nice smelling soaps and shampoos.
Deciding that her bath was full enough, she stepped right into the warm water and began bathing. Anita scrubbed every orifice she had. Legs, arms, tummy, chest and even her back all got the most amazing scrub she could manage. Then, she turned her attention to her hair. Anita reached up and untied her ribbon and laid it in the basket. Her long black hair fell in cascades of onyx ripples around her shoulders.
Anita sank her head back into the water and made sure her hair was soaked through. When it was, she sat up, grabbed the shampoo bottle and squeezed a bunch of it on to the top of her head. Gathering up her hair, she began massaging the shampoo down its length before she lather it all together. When she had finished working it into a mass of white foam on top of her head, she pulled the plug out of the drain and turned the water on. She turned around in the tub and leaned back under the faucet to rinse her hair.
When she was through, Anita stood up and rinsed herself off with the clean water from the faucet. Anita turned off the water. Climbing out of the tub she stooped to pick up her towel. She straightened upa and began to dry off. She started with her hair, then worked her way down from her face and neck. Fully dried off, she picked out the clean nightgown and pulled it on over her head. She picked up her dirty hair ribbon and decided to wash it with her clothes.
After Rosebel was done stripping she entered room which had many baths lined up in a row. Without any ado Rosebel picked the middle one and started filling it with water.
"Zoruaaa!" Chaos happily squealed and looked how warm water slowly was filling up the bath tub. When it was finally full, Chaos jumped into bath making water splash around it. Rosebel and Chaos always took bath together, because they both enjoyed warm water very much. For good half an hour Rosebel and Chaos were just sitting and enjoying war water clean their skin and hair.
"I guess we should wash up then," Rosebel said to her zorua and soaped his fur up. Afterwards Chaos carefully rubbed shampoo into Rosebel long hair. For some while they were washing up and when done Rosebel tried of Chaos and herself and put on one of nightgowns which was neatly folded inside the basket.
"That was great bath," she exclaimed as Rosebel exited bath.
"Baths are better warm than cold." Anita quipped. Turning to Rose she brought over another towel for Chaos. "Here ya go! Let's get you dry too." Anita knelt down and began drying the Zorua. She gently rubbed the water out of his silky black fur and began brushing it with a comb to get as much of it out of the inner layers as possible.
As she combed she told Rose, "Whenever I give Nyan-nyan a bath, she complains about how the water gets into her fur. I guess even though she doesn't mind water, it gets annoying when the warm water turns cold. She always wants me to comb the water out of her inner layers of fur. It really does help, apparently. Does it Chaos?" she asked, turning to the Zorua.
"Zor!" Chaos exclaimed in agreement and once Anita was done combing him, he jumped on Rosebel's shoulder again.
"Oh, I see you're done bathing. Come on, it's time for dinner," old granny said and lead Anita and Rosebel down stairs to dinner room. There big table in middle of room and it was filled with delicious treats and dishes. On one side of the wall there were small bowl filled with food. Those were probably meant for pokemon.
"Don't be shy, dig in! And you can feed all your pokemon as well," granny encouraged them and Rosebel called out rest of her pokemon; Blaze, Harmonia and Crystal. Chaos pointed at bowls of pokemon food and all 4 of them without any hesitation dug each into their own bowl. Rosebel was pretty hungry as well, so she sat down and started put few dishes onto her plate.
Anita looked in surprise at all the food. There was so much of it! A real shmorgousborg. Anita looked to Fluffy and squatted down. Fluffy barked happily, went into Anita's backpack to locate the others' balls and, upon finding them and digging them out, began hiking Anita's other pokeballs to her. She let all of her pokemon out and they began to mill about in happy confusion at being indoors.
Anita told her pokemon to go eat and all of them except Junk began scarfing down as much food as they could. The little Golett seemed rather uninterested in the food provided by their host. Instead, it went and began to root through Anita's backpack. It found an empty Chocolate bar wrapper and tried to eat it. Anita managed to stop him.
It seemed rather flustered as Anita pulled the garbage out of its' grasp. Junk began waving its arms around and stomping its feet. Suddenly, Junk sat straight down and began crying. The keening buzz was annoying enough to prompt Poof to throw some food at Junk to try to shut it up. When the food went through it, Junk began crying even louder! It was still rather young, probably not much more than a toddler, insofar as Pokemon go.
Anita decided to pick Junk up and bring it to the table. She stooped over, grasped it under its armpits and lifted it up. Anita managed to settle it on her hip like a baby. When she did this, Junk stopped crying. It looked at her and began hiccuping pitifully. Anita carried Junk over to the table and sat down with it on her lap.
"I think Junk has taken quite a liking to that chocolate of yours," Rosebel said as she noticed that little golett was completely uninterested in other food.
"That's pretty bad, because if it only eats chocolate it might become unhealthy," Rosebel explained as she remembered what happened to her after week of eating only chocolate. Long story cut short, Rosebel ended up in hospital with really bad stomachache.
For pokemon effect would be much worse because chocolate is made for humans so it doesn't affect them so badly as it affects pokemon.
Anita nodded solemnly to Rose. She was worried about the same issue. Anita knew that such a young pokemon wouldn't be able to handle chocolate in large quantities. She told Rose as much, while trying to tease some other food into the young Golett.
Junk began wiggling uncomfortably and refused to eat any of the pokemon food Anita was trying to feed it. Whining piteously, it began waving its arms around to ward off Anita's attempts at feeding it. "Gwoh! Gwoooo leeeettt..." it moped. Obviously Junk wanted chocolate and would have nothing to do with ordinary food.
Anita sighed furiously. "Okay, LOOK!" she said suddenly, in a very annoyed voice. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way. Easy: Eat this and you can have chocolate later as a treat. Hard: Don't eat this and never EVER get chocolate ever again. Well? Choose now, Junk." She offered Junk a piece of food.
Junk seemed to think for a moment. Finally, it seemed to decide, since it took the food and opened itself up. Reaching up, Junk grabbed its head and tilted the top back. It crammed as much food inside as possible and slammed its head closed. It made a clicking noise then suddenly began vibrating and emitting a strange whirring noise. When it stopped, it clicked again and glowed brightly for a second.
Anita seemed a little surprised when Junk suddenly glowed for a moment, then just satisfied. Nodding she offered Junk more food which it proceeded to eat until it didn't want any more. Anita let Junk down and it wandered in the direction of her other pokemon.
Seeing how Anita finally managed baby golett to eat, Rosebel chuckled a bit. It was bit funny watching Junk refuse all the food but that was only understandable because it was only a baby. Rosebel looked over her shoulder at little Harmonia who was happily eating her pokemon food. Harmonia never caused any trouble because she was simply very shy and also aware of her weakness, she was afraid that Rosebel could abandon her. Of course, such thing would never happen, but everybody has some issues.
When everybody was done eating their meal, same old granny entered the room and asked;
"Would you kids like to stay here for the night?"
"We would love to, but we're in hurry to reach Petropolis before sunset," Rosebel explained as she called everyone except Chaos back to their pokeballs and put them into backpack.
"Oh, I see. Don't be shy and come visit some other time," granny kindly said.
"Is there some way we could repay you for you kindness? Maybe you need something from city?" Rosebel asked elderly.
"Well, you could do one thing. You see I'm raising poliwag, poliwhirl, poliwrath and politoad, but I have run out of water stones to evolve poliwhirl. It would be nice if you could get me some," she replied with worried look on her face.
"Don't worry, we'll bring some water stones for you! No problem!" Rosebel said and both girls got ready to finally reach Petropolis.
Anita agreed and nodded vigorously and the two girls headed outside. The two of them began a long trek towards their destination. Slogging through the puddles along the muddy road they made decent time.
About an hour later Anita decided it was time to once again pull out her bike. She signaled Rose to wait for a moment. Anita explained that the road was dry enough for her to ride on.
She kneeled down and pulled her bike out. Anita unfolded it with expert hands and pushed all the pins and levers into place. She also pulled a pair of pegs out and fastened them to the back tire. She took off her backpack and tied it to the handlebars.
Anita got onto her bike and waited for Rose to get onto the pegs. It would be easier than the ride from the night before. Rose could balance on the pegs without the risk of falling as badly. Plus, since it wasn't raining, she wouldn't need to hold the tarp.
As Anita unfolded her bike, Rosebel climbed onto pegs with Chaos once again sitting onto her head.
Road was almost completely dry so cycling now should be so much easier then before. Also they weren't on side roads anymore but on main road to Petropolis so obviously is better made then the small roads.
It was late afternoon however girls weren't too far from Petropolis. It was already possible to see silhouette of grand city. It was really amazing sight as it was huge compared to everything else. Without a doubt it was biggest city in all of Furoh.
"Wow, Petropolis already looks amazing from afar," Rosebel said and Chaos nodded his head in agreement.
Anita decided to let her Skitty out. She grabbed the pokeball and tossed it, releasing the little fuzzball. "Meow mrow MROW!!!" Nyna-nyan mewled happily. She immediately began kicking mud with her back paws. Anita chuckled at the sight.
"Ready for a run, Nyan-nyan?" she asked. The Skitty nodded and took off in the wrong direction. "Gah!!! Not that way! THIS way!" Anita screeched as she began peddaling in the direction of the City. Nyan-nyan skidded to a halt and came dashing back.
Nyan-nyan pulled even with the bike and kept pace with admirable stamina. The bike's back tire flung up a fine spray of mud as Anita peddaled on. Pretty soon, the first buildings of Petropolis City loomed up on either side of them. Anita slowed down a bit as she noticed a store advertising a sale on rocks.
"Hey," she said turning to Rose. "Think we'll find any Water Stones in there?" Anita was kinda doubtful, but it didn't hurt to take a look. Plus, she still had to sell her Star Piece. This was a big city, and that would mean she was gonna need money.
