Given that the site was designed over a year ago now, and we've since added tons of new features, it's really gotten to the point where the site's in need of a redesign - which is exactly what we've been working on now for the past 10 days or so.

We've redesigned a number of pages and other elements on the site to make them easier to use, and more visually appealing, and we've done away with a number of sections on the site, and condensed them all into one tool - the Pokétch. This can now be used to manage your party, your friends, journal, items, interactions, daycare, walker, settings, as well as Pokemon evolution, egg hatching, and many other actions as well as the new underground feature.

At this time, the new site will be available for testing to everyone with 25 000 total interactions or more - and it will be fully rolled out a few days from now, more than likely. This is so that we can correct any outstanding issues before fully releasing it to everyone.

Note that, because both Internet Exploder and Opera are behind Firefox, Chrome and Safari in implementing newer CSS features, the site is best viewed in recent versions of either of the three. It should work fine in recent versions of any of the five browsers, however.

It's located here, though keep in mind it isn't presently accessible to everyone: http://new.gpxplus.net/

A Gender option has been added on your Settings tab; we'll be using this setting throughout the site now instead of the one in your forum profile. It doesn't actually use this yet, but just letting you all know to go set it awhile.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Where is the Mystery Counter?
-It's to the right of the updates. The little oval with a # in it.
  • Where will the little man/tiny egg/etc show?
-To the left of the updates.
  • What are the other icons next to the mystery counter that appear sometimes?
-Notifications for new daycare eggs/eggs ready to hatch/etc. Just hover over them.
  • What are these new Pokéballs and stuff to the right of my Pokémon's images?
    -Hover your mouse over them!
  • The Underground says a Pokémon can only go underground once; is this a daily limit?
-No. It means once you move a Pokémon to the underground, it can never go in again.
  • My Public URL goes to the old site still!
-Yes, because it uses the my.gpxpl.us URL which won't be altered to redirect to 'new.'. Just click your username at the top to view your profile.
  • After you use the Silph Scope and refresh the page (and leaving the eggs there), it doesn't remember that you used it.
    -Yes, this is intentional.
  • Will a Pokémon gain maturity while Underground?
    -No, it will not.
  • Will I be notified when my Pokémon has returned from underground?
-Yes, the same way it notifies you about daycare eggs and such.
  • Is the Underground interactions-based?
-No, it goes by your time spent on the site as well as your activity during that time.
  • Does it matter what Pokémon I put in the Underground?
-No, every Pokémon has the same chance of finding the same items.
  • Opening tabs on the Online List is so slow with MultiLinks!
-MultiLinks is known to be awful when there's a lot of links on the page. Use SnapLinks instead, or report it to the developer. It's not our fault.

Helpful Information
  • To everyone complaining about slow load times: we're going to start working to optimize all the pages within the next couple of days, and cut down on a lot of the power-hungry JavaScript. So hold tight.
  • To everyone who is forced to use IE (7 or otherwise) at work/school and doesn't want to: there is something you can do. Does the PC you'll be using have a USB slot? No doubt it does (what computer doesn't?). Simply buy yourself a small USB drive, or even a memory card and a USB memory card reader, and put Firefox Portable on it. Then, you simply plug your USB key into the USB slot on the PC, and you can open Firefox from there. No files get saved on the PC you're using at all, it's all completely portable. You carry around all your settings with you from PC to PC with that USB key.

Do not post in this thread complaining that you cannot access the site or asking how to; it clearly says in the first post that only users with 25,000 total interactions or more can use it (for now!). If you are not one of these people, refrain from posting.

If you are one of the people who can access the site, go ahead and give us feedback! Bidofo and I made many changes, as you can see, so it's possible there's small bugs here and there.

The Poketch page looks very nice so far.

I've noticed the Explorer Kit, I'll try that out soon.

FIRRRSSSTTTT!

...Well, kinda...
Or not... ^^;

This is pretty dang awesome. Alas, as I have -fewer- than 25,000 interaction points, I can't see the site. Might someone be able to post a screencap so that we can know what to expect? =3

Woah! That is so cool! I think the Poketch is really useful. Really good idea. Will we have the option to use the old site if we want?

Little bit of a glitch; when I first clicked the interactions tab in the Poketch I got an error message, and now there seems to be nothing under the Interactions tab of the Poketch, not even the to and from headings.
Edit: NVM, seems to be fixed.

The Poketch is cool, and most of the pages initially at the tabs are put into one organized matter. Awesome

Willl we still be able to use the old layout? 'Cause I'm pretty accustomed to the older one. The new one looks pretty cool though. o.o

I'd like to suggest something after using this for a bit. I think you should make the Poketch stay on the same option (the different tabs on it) whenever you load the page again so it's more user-friendly.

Oh man. This is awesome. Love how you can now see what you have yet to interact with in the people who you've interacted with previously and those in your Pal Pad/Those who you added you. Also loving how you can rearrange your party outside of the PC. Keep up the good work guys.

Hmm....

The new party display page is going to take some getting used to, but I REALLY like the option to view interactions based on users who have Pokémon in their party that you can interact with. That will be really handy.

Loving it so far - much more modern, and sleek. Thank you. happy.gif

I like the Poketch - it's pretty convenient to have all of this one page. Ooo, explorer kit? Underground? -intrigued-

I am still exploring the tabs a bit, but I did enjoy the little bouncing egg at the top, telling me I had something ready to hatch~

I also like the fact you can reorder your party on the party page now, instead of always having to go to your pc.

Well, this is very cool, although it might throw off Mass Clicking a bit.

However, I really like the idea of the Pokétch, and the new Underground. I haven't tried that out yet, since I need to hatch my eggs first.
