Just take a moment to read this and try it out yourself - no, no. Trust me and keep on reading. Now, there is a lot of injustice going on, even in this country. People are suffering from stereotypes everyday, and even take their own lives to escape it. Probably some of the most misunderstood bunch (beside the emos), are the gays. They are human too.
Now here's the interesting part. Typing in: Homosexual. All good? Now type in this: Homophobe. See the red squibbly line (for those with a..."better" computer) under it? Now if a mindless computer can see what's right and what's wrong, why can't the majority of society? I am by all means heterosexual, but why should that make me a homophobe? Oh wait - according to the computer, that word shouldn't exist. That's all. If this was a waste of your time, I'm sorry. Hmmm... let me check this.
Homosexual. Homophobe. No wait... the red line doesn't appear underneath the word "homophobe". At least, for me, that is. But hey, you did make quite a good explanation there. It's amazing what certain people can notice these days on the computer. -------------------- |

Hm. What browser are you using? I'm using Firefox and if you're using something else, then heck! That might be it. If you're using it too, then I'm lost. I'll post a picture of it soon.

Thanks!
Ah, I see. I'm in a similar hole where My father is a hardcore Christian/Catholic (I never got the difference) and all this time I never told him I was agnostic. I'm afraid if I told him I didn't follow "our" religion, I'd get beaten or something. -------------------- Team (click to show ) |

thank you moderator the contributor but if we needed your help we would ask for it ok?
hi I'm giving you a verbal for that, but make more contributive posts than this in the future. We give restricted for posting 10 spam posts to get the member title, you know. also the firefox spellcheck doesn't register colour or my first name (Muhed) as a word therefore i assume that i don't exist and british vocabulary is flat-out wrong. also try homophobia, that doesn't turn into an error either.... not that i am pro-homophobia or anything (i'm vigorously pro-gay rights), i just hate it when people are smug about it and post threads like these to sound deep and make people agree with them for whatever reason. follows the exact same fallacious stupid arguments the far right (think FOX news, the ones with stupid basis that somehow end up connecting obama to hitler) uses to justify their extremely intolerant views. it's that kind of logic that pisses me off to no end regardless of what is being vouched for. hate to be the devil's advocate, but i am very critical as to what arguments support a just cause. a fallacious one to support something this important doesn't jive with me. -------------------- |

...What?
Sorry you don't agree with the thread, but this isn't some attempt to sound deep and have people agree with me. I just posted this thread realizing it, and people decided to agree with me. None of that was intentional. You could have been a little less blunt about it and a bit more considerate, however... -------------------- Team (click to show ) |

It's not like I'm insulting you, I'm just extremely blunt about my views, but anyway that's definitely what I got out of it. This is definitely better suited in the debates board anyway.

Well, the thing is, is that it's not meant to be a debate thread. Personally, I think that the last thing we need is people arguing over sexuality and homophobia.

I do agree that it's a petty thing to argue over in relative terms (what with our society's disturbing obsession with money), but it's a better fit here than General Discussion.. i should vouch for renaming the debates board to something more general (since many threads here aren't necessarily debates).

Don't get me onto the subject of money. @___@
Hm... I personally can't think of a more general term for debate, and it seems like it's about as vague as you can get. Most of the "debates" I see is either agreement, argument, or reflection. So you're on your own there. Lol. -------------------- Team (click to show ) |

most gays and lesbians would like marriage for the same legal rites as other marriages, such as paying taxes or health insurance, It makes me laugh when Christians or Hebrews says marriage is a "Religious" or "Sacred" thing, um, last time checked, being gay doesnt stop you believing in the same religion as straight people?

Hm. If I were a homophobic Christian meeting a gay Christian for the first time, my brain will go into an endless paradox where I will probably implode.
But I'm not homophobic nor Christian so it negates the whole scenario. I like your argument, Romeo. -------------------- Team (click to show ) |
