Does anyone knows exactly the chances of getting a shiny hatching an egg?
On the Help section is "Just like in Pokémon games after the First Generation, there are "shiny" forms for every Pokémon in GPXPlus as well. While they aren't nearly as rares as they are in Pokémon games, they are still extremely rare." Thank you. -------------------- |

In the game its 1 in 8192 chance of getting a shiny. On GPX+ its about 1 in 250 I'm not entirely sure this is correct. I'm pretty sure there was a post ages ago about the chances of a shiny and it was mentioned the shiny mechanic is identical to that from the game which as you mentioned is 1/8192. The majority of things on gpx correspond to the games. Though i can understand why you'd think its low with the number of shinys, theres people that don't find one for thousands of eggs. Then again people have finished the shiny hunt with 1 egg hatched which is extremely lucky. -------------------- |

I don't know the exact chance but the help page does state that it's not the same as the games: QUOTE Shiny Pokémon

There is no set specific shiny rate. It's just random. I mean... I know some people who get a shiny on their very first egg, whereas it took some people 500+ eggs to get one (Including me)
but the average amount of eggs between a shiny is roughly 300 eggs. But it just depends on which egg you take. -------------------- Don't forget to love yourself. Shiny Rate is really reduced in GPX+ i agree with a previous post on a 1 in 250 rate. I got a shiny Shelmet in my fourth egg =\
However... People could think it to be different because of bad luck in getting them but the math is there, you just have bad luck. I've seen a guy hatch 1231 Onix eggs before getting a shiny. I've seen a guy win a shiny hunt in one egg. It's a fate thing, friends, it's a fate thing. |

I thought it was a 1 in 150 chance? Meh, 1 in 250 could be right too.

I can only tell you my shiny rate (in particular). I've hatched 27,900 eggs and I have 117 shinies. So, that's an average of 1/238. I think it's fairly similar for all the top shiny owners, but I've not done random math on the stats in a while.

Best to let the numbers speak for themselves. Look at the site-wide shiny races in the stats. It will list total number of eggs hatched, and total number of shinies. Then do the math. You can also look in the Dex, which lists numbers of pokemon and numbers of shinies for a species. However, not every pokemon that was ever hatched, will still be in existence (eg if I hatch 200 Squirles to find a shiny, and throw back the 199 non-shiny ones, most of them will not get adopted so they will disappear after a couple of days). So, be careful there. But I think you will be safe looking at the numbers of the rarer pokemon; no one will throw away a Ditto, shiny or not, so there the number may be significant. Same for Unown and legendaries. But: there are shiny vouchers. If I ever got a shiny voucher, I would probably create a shiny Ditto since that is otherwise impossible to obtain (and it's an awesome blue blob of course). And I wouldn't be the only one I guess. So that makes the dex numbers less reliable.
So your best bet would be to look at the shiny race results and figure out the numbers. -------------------- |
