I hatched a Goldeen this morning to start off my PokeDex, but for some reason it instantly hatched into the JP Green/Red (Gen 1) sprite instead of its site default sprite. Is this a rare type to come by? Or is it common?

EDIT: Even the Seel I claimed from the Shelter is its Crystal sprite.

It's rare in the sense that Pokémon tend to hatch with a "default" sprite (which you can see in its Pokédex entry), but if Sprite Power is active (from the Pass POwers section of the Shop), there's a higher chance that the Pokémon will hatch with another sprite. You can also buy a Sprite Changer item when it's in stock, and using it will let you change one Pokemon's sprite into a different one.

Only Generation I-IV Pokémon have alternate sprites here.
