well...cyndaquil be cute...but weak in the beginning, unlike totodile who's and f-ing powerhouse. Cyndaquil evolves first...but evolves into Typhlosion 6 levels after Croconaw evolves into Feraligatr. :\ But Feraligatr isn't exactly a water type. It has a low special attack, so being a water type is kinda pointless for it. Feraligatr doesn't learn many water type attacks anyways...but because of that...it's kinda useless to keep it. And then replace it w/ something that actually learns water type moves. Typhlosion on the other hand, has a high special attack, and the moves to take advantage of that stat. +Typhlosion has an epic battle cry

Cynda. Game-wise I picked the Fire starter, because Fire's not a very easy type to get. Gyarados is always, always, always my Water type.

Cyndaquil.
I've always picked Cyndaquil as my starter in GSC. It's my favorite out of the Johto starters.
Plus, I think Totodile/Croconaw/Feraligatr suits the GSC rival best.

Quilava is also my favorite out of all of the starters' first evolutions.

Totodile PWNs! Never liked the Cyndaquil evolution line. I don't know, it may be that I love crocodiles but Totodile was always cuter to me. I don't see why people like Cyndaquil.....

My vote goes to Cyndaquil, because it's really cute, and I like him more then Totodile. I also like Quilave and Typhlosion better then Croconaw and Feraligatr.

As much as I love fire and fire-types, I love Totodile more. Always preferred the reptile or most reptilian starters more anyways. So yeah, Totodile ftw.

I'm hard-pressed to pick a better one of the two, really. I like Typhlosion and Feraligatr equally, as well as their evos.

However, I prefer shiny Totodile, so Totodile it is.

Well, the Johto starters are all kinda meh, but I'd pick Cyndaquil. I wish I could turn back time and get Cyndaquil on my SoulSilver, though. I accidently choose Chikorita. Stupid brother...
