So, some time back Renesmee the Cresselia challenged me to a Buneary shiny race that I won in 75 eggs. She's hatched about 35 but hasn't bothered to keep up the hunt as it were. I have another user wishing to race that I'd like to race with but can't.... is there any way to cancel shiny races? What if Renesmee never bothers to hatch more Buneary?

Is it pretty much something I have to deal with since I accepted a "fewest eggs" challenge? I feel kind of dumb in that I really didn't anticipate this problem, lol.

(I searched this topic and saw AFUG's post on racing with a banned user and saw no answer from a mod so, sorry, if I'm posting and this has been answered before.)

Bumping the thread and I'd also like to mention that Renesmee the Cresselia has pretty much updated her journal and status to "Idon'tgoonheremuchKAYBYE!" so I'm kinda of the opinion she's really not intending on finishing this race. I've also been checking her stats every day and she hasn't been playing for days.

I get that this is a tricky situation but honestly, there has to be some kind of option for those of us that end up in these predicaments, lol. I can see that an option to cancel races can end up doing more harm than good but there needs to be some kind of failsafe for those of us that end up in these "inifinite" races.

Sorry to be whiny about it, it's just I've done most everything on the site I can do and shiny races and hunts are what's keeping me active 'til the next batch of achievements.

(I can't be the only one with this problem, either, other members? I was a little surprised no one else commented on the thread.)

I'd like to know the answer for this as well. My shiny race competitor went on hiatus :v While I'll still try to get a shiny Chikorita, it's not much of a race when it's just me (and it's fewest eggs)

Sorry, Mudd E. I don't visit the forums often but this question has been on the back of my mind as well. I'm also in a "fewest eggs" shine race. Today is the first day my competitor has been back in a while and we've talked off site and I've asked them to not cancel the race until I get my shiny (or if they actually begin collecting and collect a shiny on their end).

It has been curious to me as to what would happen if one competing party falls inactive and the other racer wishes to opt out of the challenge. What happens then? And... if you didn't initiate the race, can you cancel?

I like the idea of finding out if there is another out available. If only 1 party is trying and the other gives up without canceling... then what?

I'm going to add in a clause for fewest eggs hatched races whereby after you've hatched your shiny, the opponent has only a fixed time period during which they may hatch theirs, otherwise they automagically forfeit, yup yup.
