So basically, I've got a rotating avatar now, but need avatars to fill it. So this is my little thread where you can make me avatars to go in my rotation
What to make
Well, since he's my online persona thing, any avatars should be made of Pokii. If thou art unfamiliar with Pokii, take a gander at http://pokii-kun.deviantart.com/art/Pokii-Pixel-ID-84462089. I've also made sprites of big/little Pokii (http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs50/f/2009/330/0/9/09a2e8a9731eb0c57c834f74d80fb497.png and http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs43/f/2009/122/f/b/fbf6714d8647f994cbccdb6c1c9c5422.png, respectively), which you may use in an avatar, if you'd like.
For clarification about that, Pokii has two forms. The smallish adorable one (his active form), and the larger fuzzy demon one (his true form). You're welcome to use either for the avatar. Or both. The more, the merrier
Oh, I forgot! Pokii actually has his own symbol/emblem thing, which would be http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/8609/pokiisymbol.png.
Also, if you want to do a background, but can't think of a color, try somewhere around in the blues, near the Global Moderator group color. I've noticed that that matches pretty well with my group icon and such...
You're not limited to one submission either, by the way. If you want to try making more than one, be my guest
File Specifications
Because the image randomizer is a picky thing, all images have to be the same size and file type so here's some file specifications:
- 150x200 Pixels It can be larger than that (since it can be scaled down), but definitely no smaller than that.
- Save as a . GIF or .PNG (Randimg will actually take other formats like .JPG, but the two I've listed support transparency are generally better quality file types)
....well, that's it, actually.
Below is a list of some of the avatars I'm using (and who made them), if you'd like some examples for inspiration. *Warning: It's a big list*
And that's about it. If you've got any more questions, just let me know.

However you get the job done. All the ones I'm using currently were created digitally. Mine were drawn on paper, scanned into the computer, and done over in PSP. But GE did hers with a tablet pen, I believe. I'll be doing some more like that, too.

Weeell, if you're going to use a Pokémon, I'd say go for either Dunsparce or Aggron (and it's pre-evolutions), as they're my favorites.
Or even both combined

Well guys, looks like that's it...The bastardly site I used to host my avatar apparently kills it after it gets so many hits. Real nice of them.
The problem is, if I want to avoid this in the future, I'd have to own my own webspace to host it on, or know someone who does and would host it for me. Unfortunately, I don't, so I'm sorta stuck.
So yeah, I'll be closing this now...for those of you who did make me an avatar, you have my sincerest gratitude. I really appreciate the effort you put in, and I honestly enjoyed them all. If I ever do manage to get another one working, I'll be sure to reuse yours. I've got them all saved on my computer, so no worries.

In case you haven't already noticed, I got my rotating avatar back! WOOT
This site seems much more promising than the last. I can host up to 200 images per rotation this time, though I haven't seen/heard anything about how many hits it can take, or if there's a limit on that at all...only time will tell...
But anyway, I'm reopening this and throwing in a few old avatars I wasn't using before, and a few new ones (that are actually old!).
Oh, and I made a sprite of big Pokii, which is in the first post.
Here's hoping I get some more submissions. Cheers!

They're not bad, but that's some powerful color contrast. I think if there were some text at the top (like "Pokii"), and something to bring the sprite out a bit, that would help it some.

Another update/excuse to bump this thread: I've officially run out of image slots in the first post, so if you make me an avatar from here on out, it might not be featured in the first post. That does not mean that it isn't in the rotation, though.

Yeah, Zerxer's site can host an unlimited number, but you can upload up to either 50 or 200 (I forgot which) an hour. But who the hell has that many images to upload at once, anyway...

If you're using Iaza you need to make the background a color that isn't used in the sprite so nothing is lost when making it transparent.

That, or change the transparency settings when you save it in whatever program you're using. It should do that anyway for a .png, though...

No, I don't believe MSPaint does transparency, but if you save the areas you want transparent all as one color, you can take it to Iaza or whatever and you can get rid of it that way. Don't know if you have to make white the color to turn transparent or not. I've never used that site, myself =\

Yeah, I mean you could really just make it some ridiculously different color like a hideous neon lime green and have someone erase it that way (i.e. me) =\

I used MS Paint for the sprite. I use GIMP for transparencizing, but it doesn't work out too well :[
I will be on working on a brighter sprite on the true form of Pokii soon...

I just realized if you invert the colors on the image, it looks like a gargoyle with wings.

Yeah. I'll get around to recoloring that new drawing I made (which again is the best I've done yet). It'll be really easy too, now, since I literally colored it with black/white and a hue/saturation layer.

It's pretty easy, actually. Once you sign up, you can upload images to use for avatars. Then you can create "piles," which is basically a group of images that will all be rotated in the same avatar. Nick's site is nice, since you can make as many piles as you want, upload as many images as you want, and use as many images per pile as you want. Keep in mind, though, that all images in each pile have to be the same size. If not, then it'll automatically resize them.

There's just too much about it that causes slight inconveniences that annoy the crap out of me. I love how in SAI, you can right-click to select a color. That makes painting about a billion times faster than in PS. Though, for neat effects and text and stuff, PS wipes the floor with anything else I've used (which isn't much, really, just SAI, a few older versions of PS and SEVERAL versions of OpenCanvas).
I can say, though, that SAI tends to be an enormous crutch for some people. You get used to how convenient it is, then drawing IRL becomes a pain in the butt and it's like, "well I'd just rather do this digitally."
I lost the entire point of what I wanted to say, but there ya are. 81
Anyways, good luck finding more avatar art!
