Furby boom app help, nowhere else to ask

Anybody using or trying to use the new furby boom app with your furby boom? Mine will not communicate with my tablet. I have a t mobile g slate running android version 3.1. Every where I have looked said it should work with this version and it doesn't. I do not have the funds for an over priced Ipad. Any suggestion beside contacting tech support because that got me nowhere.
