Global PokédeX Plus Forums _ Pokémon TCG _ TC; What this mean?

I've always had Pokémon cards, I've cried over Pokémon cards, I just don't know half the things on them mean; help?

Everything should be explained on there, the things I circled are what I want to know about.

Have you ever actually played the Pokémon card game? If you haven't, this may be a bit confusing to you, and I recommend checking out http://www.pokemontcg.com/tutorials if you don't understand my explanation.

Anyway, if you're playing the card game, you have an option to retreat the Pokémon card you're currently using (your 'active Pokémon') to the group of Pokémon cards you have on standby (your 'bench'). In order to do this, you might have to discard energy cards attached to the active Pokémon; the amount you have to discard is indicated by the Retreat Cost. For example, if you were to retreat that Feraligatr to your bench, you would have to discard two of any kind of energy cards attached to Feraligatr.

As for the 12/103, I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's something like this: The series of cards that Feraligatr comes in has 103 different cards, and this Feraligatr is the 12th card in that series.

*Ahem* , I apologize for the late post. And, I apologize if this is reviving the topic.

I have played the game before, but my friends and I haven't played it right... I do understand what your saying though, as we did play using "benched" Pokémon before.
