Baccate is known as a peaceful town full of berries and grass Pokemon, with an enchanting forest surrounding most of it. The air is sweet and clear all year round thanks to the great care of Pokemon and human alike. The door is always open to any trainer who might wish to take a breath of fresh air on their journey. The town's inhabitants are jolly people eager to share their knowledge with young trainers. The quaint place seems to have no troubles at first sight.

However, when the local Pokemon begin to go missing, things take a horrible turn.

As trainers find themselves pulled into the strange mystery, they must work together to save Pokemon, and discover what truly lies in the forest that calls them in.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Zapi and I are welcome for anyone to join. Currently, the plot is that several town Pokemon have disappeared, and the characters are forced to work together if they want to ever find them. They'll have to travel into the forest, fight various Pokemon of all sizes and levels until they meet the true masterminds, which will be decided once we see any interest or not.
On another note, I felt that a Thriller reference be necessary. *Zombie dance!*
Looks great, I'll add you to the list. Feel free to post whenever.
And now that there's a whopping four of us, I feel safe enough to discuss villains. I was thinking of perhaps a gang of leaders, including Gastly and Noctowl. I figured Liz could battle Noctowl and Mona Gastly. The theme is mainly Psychic/Dark/Ghost types, as I figured they would best explain the storyline of luring Pokemon away. Any thoughts?
Posted by: Kamaitachi Jul 16 2012, 04:05 PM
The question now raised is motive. Why are the villains luring pokemon away from Baccate?
My guess is that because it's such a laid-back locale, that they wouldn't encounter too much resistance? Let's say that they're using...I dunno...an Alakazam to lure the pokemon away, then using the Gastly/Ghost types to use mean look, then Hypnosis to take them down. This team of say, Poachers, was hoping that they could lure out some of the rarer pokemon brought by trainers to Baccate, but wound up with a lot of 'common' ones. I dunno, just a suggestion.
If Liz is battling Noctowl, (who can also use Hypnosis), and Mona is battling Gastly, whatever, I suppose this Alakazam (being high levelled) can be Tag's target.
Posted by: Dragonwish2 Jul 16 2012, 04:34 PM
That sounds pretty good. I was considering between poachers using Psychic Pokemon to force the local Pokemon to steal things for them before stealing the Pokemon themselves, or Team Deception just trying to steal the Pokemon. Either way, Alakazam, Gastly, and Noctowl sound good for head Pokemon.
Posted by: Zapi Jul 18 2012, 05:35 PM
Ugh, you guys, sorry it's taking me so long to post...I'm at my grandparents' house right now and will be until Sunday (I think), so I haven't had quite as much time to get on the computer.
Posted by: Kamaitachi Jul 26 2012, 12:41 AM
So, let me precursor with saying that...I get very invested in storytelling.
So, since we four are essentially collaborating a story together, I'd like us to all be on the same page.
I was a little sad at first to see that our 'villains' were revealed so soon, but after some thought, I realized I like where it's going. My idea to keep it as a constant motif is that since we've established an Alakazam and a Gastly, that they should keep appearing throughout our posts. Not constantly, mind you, but say, Alakazam uses teleport to get in close to our teams, and the Gastly uses his ghostliness too, or whatever. Let's have them present throughout the whole rp, where some of our teams pokemon (Tag's Slowpoke, Liz's Ralts and Riolu, Mona's Shuppet), can be aware of their presence. That way they're not revealed and then left hidden until later.
I'm not at my most coherent, so let me know if I need to clarify this idea.
Posted by: Dragonwish2 Jul 26 2012, 08:28 AM
I understand. Later I'll put up a post and get the team together. Sound good?
Posted by: Zapi Jul 26 2012, 11:24 AM
That sounds like a good idea, Kamai. I'll keep those things in mind.
Posted by: Kamaitachi Jul 26 2012, 01:04 PM
We don't need to "Avengers Assemble" just yet. We haven't even gotten to Baccate yet.
I like the pace at which things are going, though. We can have everyone keep moving towards Baccate when all four of our characters meet up. Someone can suggest checking Baccate for clues? They reach Baccate and find out that many a pokemon are missing strangely, Gera now added to the list.
Posted by: Dragonwish2 Jul 26 2012, 06:00 PM
I'll slow the assembly then. How about Liz and Tag go back to her camp, find Ryan missing, then head to Baccate?
In other news, I had a good draft post ready, when dinner came. I started closing tabs I didn't need to leave open, when I accidentally exited the tab with the post. GARPHLG. Anyways, I'll probably post tomorrow morning, or later tonight if I'm lucky. I'm going to be much more careful this time, I hope.
Hey dudes, what's going on with the RP? Is it because school or whatever is blocking everyone from replying or something? Because, if so, I totally understand, dudes. School started up for me, and I've been really busy. I'm just getting a little bored.
Posted by: Kamaitachi Aug 15 2012, 10:49 PM
I figured that we were waiting on Zapi.
Posted by: Dragonwish2 Aug 19 2012, 12:15 PM
I thought so as well. Seeing as that isn't the case, I'll get on a post ASAP.
Posted by: Dragonwish2 Aug 30 2012, 07:08 AM
Sorry for the double post, but my fellow role-players need an update.
I apologize for my delay of post. School has kept me busy, and with a broken computer I've had little access to a functioning computer. However, my there's a chance my computer will be fixed this weekend, and I'll try to get a post up then. Again, sorry for the delay.
Posted by: Soos Sep 16 2012, 12:36 PM
I understand a computer being broken, my laptop screen cracked and I'm currently looking for something to fix it, like a seperate screen and vga cable. I'm currently typing through a 3DS, so you can imagine how difficult it would be for me be to respond to the rp right now, but I'll try later.
Posted by: Soos Nov 14 2012, 10:09 AM
Sorry I've been unable to reply, my laptop's been broken and I'm currently searching for a replacement. I'll try and reply as soon as posdible
Posted by: Kamaitachi Nov 14 2012, 03:05 PM
No worries, bud.
Posted by: colourcodedchaos Nov 14 2012, 06:15 PM
Um, are you guys still accepting people? This RP seems like fun...
Posted by: Kamaitachi Nov 15 2012, 01:49 AM
I have no qualms with you joining, especially since one of our peeps dropped out fairly early. Dragonwish? Soos? Your thoughts?
Posted by: colourcodedchaos Nov 15 2012, 01:54 PM
I'm wanted! Yay!
Posted by: Kamaitachi Nov 30 2012, 04:09 PM
Unless there's any objection, I'll probably just post to keep this thread alive and running.
Posted by: colourcodedchaos Nov 30 2012, 06:52 PM
None from this side of the Atlantic, I assure you.
Posted by: Dragonwish2 Dec 20 2012, 05:59 PM
My deepest, sincerest, solemnest apologies to all of you. School came down upon me this last December, and I participated in NaNo during November, which took up lots of my time. I am truly sorry for letting the RP slip my mind so easily and plead your forgiveness.
Though my opinion is worth very little at the moment, I am perfectly fine with you (colorcodedchaos) joining us. I will try to return my attention to this, now that I'm free with Christmas break, and I will make sure to give myself time for roleplaying again.
Posted by: colourcodedchaos Dec 20 2012, 07:00 PM
Don't feel bad about prioritizing Real Life and NaNo. Those things are more important, and if people don't respect that then they've probably got some serious entitlement issues. Thank you for giving me blessing to play with your baby, and I promise to do my best not to do a Michael Jackson with it. I look forward to RPing with you very much indeed! =]
Welcome back DW!
Anywho, I do have a problem with the Hypno battle, Colourcodedchaos. It's not that the Hypno is higher leveled, but rather that you controlled Gera, which is not your character or character's Pokemon. Gera, in that match, should be controlled by Soos, otherwised it's called "Bunnying". In PANE and Uprising, and I think most rp's on this site, 'Bunnying' is only allowed if both parties consent. I would probably check with Soos and make sure it's okay. Also, typically, at the beginning of the post, put a disclaimer that says "Bunnying approved by blah blah blah", just so the mod that's grading it doesn't dock you points in the score.
Posted by: colourcodedchaos Dec 21 2012, 05:38 AM
Ah, I see. Which was, in fact, what I was talking about in the OOC bit at the end, but never mind. I just wasn't sure whether other players' Pokémon counted, and I wanted to get the battle written out while it was still in my head. Anyway, I should've known better and I'll speak to Soos. If they don't give their consent I'll remove the section entirely. Sorry for causing any problems.
Posted by: Kamaitachi Dec 21 2012, 09:05 PM
Ah, yes. My literacy can summed up in one image.
Sorry about that!
Posted by: colourcodedchaos Dec 22 2012, 04:46 AM
'Tis absolutely fine, old sock, absolutely fine. Though perhaps a touch worrying in an RP mod...
Posted by: Dragonwish2 Jan 9 2013, 06:10 PM
Sorry about the slow post guys. My one working computer has crappy internet, and the laptop's battery won't work for some reason (after nearly setting the house on fire by sparking and smoking). I'll try to get something up by the weekend.
Posted by: colourcodedchaos Jan 9 2013, 06:17 PM
I'm sorry to hear about your laptop. Very few things are ever made better by spontaneously combusting (aside, of course, from anyone connected to the Tea Party and similar insanity-circle-jerks the world over), and I hope the issue is resolved soon. I look forward immensely to reading what you produce and interacting more closely with Liz.
Posted by: Dragonwish2 Jan 18 2013, 05:10 PM
Crappy post is crappy
This took much longer than I expected, and I'm super sorry about making you wait. I wasn't sure how far I wanted to go with my post and how complex the battle with the Gastly should be. I overthought it, and it made me almost nervous to write the post. It's up now, anyways; I was thinking the next poster could start off with everyone in Baccate or the Pokemon Center, seeing as we've spent enough time outside.
Posted by: colourcodedchaos Jan 18 2013, 09:39 PM
No, great post is great. *hugs the DW*
I'll hammer something into shape on Sunday. How do you want it to go down?
Posted by: Dragonwish2 Jan 18 2013, 11:19 PM
B'aww. *returns the hug*
I thought we could let everyone chill at the PC for a bit. There can e some conversation, and maybe the rooms could be split Walten/Tag and Adelaide/Liz for some one on one character interaction, though it's not necessary. I guess it'd be evening by the time they reach town at least. Any other opinions/ideas?
Posted by: Kamaitachi Jan 18 2013, 11:27 PM
Hmmmm...
I think I can make the segue post tonight, actually, so I will. Tag would be reluctant to give up the chase, but he'll see reason, I'm sure.
#EDIT: I can barely keep my eyes open...so...tomorrow.
Posted by: colourcodedchaos Feb 10 2013, 09:07 AM
I've been planning the segment involving Adelaide's artificial eye for quite some time. Physical comedy is at it's best with mild gore involved, don't you agree? =]
Posted by: Dragonwish2 Feb 10 2013, 06:05 PM
Indeed. I had to hold back some laughter. Poor woman, her children are likely scarred for life now. Very nicely done.
