I was told that these are the best natures for all the starter pokemon.

Charmander: Timid or Modest
Bulbasaur: Modest
Squirtle: Relaxed

Chikorita: Bold,Calm,Impish or Careful
Totodile: Naughty/Lonely/Rash/Mild Or Quirky/Bashful/Serious/Hardy/Docile
Cyndaquil: Timid

Torchic: Modest or Admant
Treecko: Brave
Mudkip: Relaxed

Piplup: Modest
Turtwig: Adamant or impish

Minus Chimchar since I know the best nature for it.
The question I have is, Are these honestly the best natures for these type of pokemon?

Since you don't have any answers yet, I'm going to say that they might be.
I guess it all depends on what type of training it's going to get.

Jolly is the best nature for Totodile! noes.gif The lil' croc has a crap Sp. Atk stat to begin with, so that won't be of any use. Totodile has a fairly good atk stat so the jolly nature is ideal for improving its Speed stat (which is just about average.)

I can tell you a Brave Treecko is a horrible idea.

Check sites like smogon for the best natures depending on movesets.

You can't expect a good answer unless you tell us the following information:
- In Game or Competetive
- The movesets of the Pokemon.

You'll have no luck just saying their names, for example Empoleon can run a special or a phisical moveset. You need to have a nature which contributes to their moveset

hmm i think,

charamander: timid or modest,
ev'd in sp. att n speed

though bellyzard is also gd but its nature would need 2 be
jolly or adamant, ev'd in att n speed

bulbasaur: calm or modest,
ev'd in sp.att, n sp.def or hp

squirtle: hmm this 1s hard, its stats r pretty even,
i'd say it's brobably better as an endurer so
either relaxed or sassy,
n ev'd in its defences or def/sp.def n hp

chikorita: again hard -__-
hmm i think the same as i said for squirtle
its more of an endured, i.e moves like leech seed
n toxic would be useful along with leftovers

cyndaquil: timid
it needs the speed boost,
ev'd in sp. att n speed

totadile: adamant
ev'd in att n hmm def or hp

treeko: timid
ev'd in speed n sp.att

torchic: adamant or modest
ev'd in att, or sp.att n speed

mudkip: relaxed or sassy,
great as a wall,
ev'd in sp.def n def

turtwig: adamant or impish
att n def or hp

piplup: modest or calm
sp.att n sp.def or hp

wow this took ages,
anywayz hope this helps ^^

QUOTE(Luminous Rose @ Mar 8 2009, 06:50 PM) *
Squirtle: Bold or Calm.

Chikorita: Bold or Calm.

Cyndaquil: Timid or Modest.

Treeko: Timid or Modest.

Mudkip: Relaxed or Sassy or Brave or Adamant.

Turtwig: Adamant or Impish or Careful or Sassy.

Piplup: Modest or Calm or Quiet.

Changes in bold.

Squirtle and Chikorita are only useful for defense rather than offence. Bold is the suggested nature for a Def. defender. Calm is for a Sp. Def defender. Though, both stats should be trained equally.

Typhosion and Sceptile are already speedy starters(Sceptile in particular has a murderous speed stat.), so an extra boost in speed is a waste. I suggest a Modest nature, to increase its Sp. Atk.

Just added a few more natures for Mudkip, since Swampert can be used either as a wall or attacker.

Same as above for Turtwig.

Quiet also works for Piplup, since it has a bad speed stat to start with.
