So I've got this junk 4-string peavey milestone 3 that just recently stopped working for me. I've had it for about 7 years so no wonder it's going out on me. However, I had already been thinking about getting a 5-string. I've got my eyes on the Ibanez SR305. Now, I was just wondering what the difference was between the 5 and 4-string besides the low B string. I know that it's a bit difficult to slap and all that but that's about it.
Sooo, what are some pros/cons? |

I don't think many people on here know about things like these, I play bass, but I never learned anything about them, I just picked one up and played it, so I dunno much.

I play bass myself (Early 70s Fender Precision that I use with permission of my dad) though I don't know much about the difference either.
If I were home I would be able to ask my dad as he has a 5-string fretless bass right now. Not sure on the model though. -------------------- |

I have a 5-string ESP F series bass, it's fantastic. I prefer it to the 4-string models, 5 is, in my opinion, the perfect number of strings. I've played many different brands, Ibanez is great, can't really go wrong.
