When I'm breeding my shellderboy with my ditto, all I seem to get out is shellders, does this have to do with the fact that one of my shellderboy's parents is a shellder, or would that happen with any shellderboy? And how can I avoid more shellders?

Breeding with two Shellderboy's would be better for trying to breed novelties, if thats what your trying to do. And one of its parents doesn't have anything to do with it, it can happen to any Shellderboy and evolution because their also based off Shellder.

The odds are higher to breed novelty eggs if both parents are novelty..The odds lessen greatly when only one parent is that novelty.

When you breed a novelty, they will produce eggs of the pokemon they are based on (except for exceptions like Dracowymsy). So since Shellderboy/Cloysterman are based off of Shellder/Cloyster, they will produce Shelder eggs; Winter Vulpix/Ninetales make Vulpix eggs; Zergoose make Zangoose eggs etc etc; you get the picture. You only have a chance of getting a novelty egg. So, even if you do have two Shellderboys, you'll still get Shelder eggs with (hopefully) the occasional Shellderboy egg.
You just have to hope you get lucky. --------------------  |

Oh, and as a note, trying to breed a novelty with a Ditto doesn't work very well. Try breeding it with something rare and same egg group. You'll have better results.
