So, not thinking I grabbed an summon egg someone else summoned. If I release the egg and then get the summoning item and summon a new one will repel still work?

Don't feel bad about grabbing that summon. They didn't find it within 5 minutes, so now it's yours. You keep it and hatch it - imagine if you released the egg and it turned out shiny? You'd feel pretty stupid :P
About your question, you won't have to worry about the answer for it if you do what I said

No, because you have the 'Mystery Egg' dex entry for it. You should just hatch it at this point.

ok, but I was asking becuase of the achievement where you need to summon all 13 summable Pokemon. It would be harder with out using repel to get it, and since someone else summoned it, it wouldn't count as something I summon.
