Here, you can vote in two things:
#1 Which Grass Type Starter would win a fight against each other? #2 Which Grass Type Starter do you like the most? For #1, I choose Serperior, because I think Torterra would win, but I couldn't STAND not choosing the Pokemon who gave me hope. For #2, I choose Serperior again, because Snivy and Serperior are my favorite Grass types and overall favorite Pokemon! Please explain why you choose your answers in your posts, and let the posting begin! -------------------- "The Chosen One's Team" (If you see anyone using this team, please tell them it's my team):

Venusaur would win in a fight because it's half poison and grass is weak to poison. But I like serperior the best out of all the final evolutions.

Oh, I forgot about Venusaur's Grass-Poison typing... But what about Torterra? Wouldn't they both have a chance? Although Serperior could win too because of Contrary + Leaf Storm. Urr... Those 3 definitely have a chance. But who would win?...

Torterra has the worst chance against the other starters. He is half Ground-Type, with that he can be attacked from Grass-Type Attacks withot being strong against them... All other starter are still strong again Grass-Typ Attacks.
1: Venusaur would win against the others... Poison-Type... 2: Snivy-Line... Snivy is really cute, and Serperior somehow beautiful. -------------------- |

Oh - Duh. Why didn't I think of that?! But Torterra isn't weak to Grass, because Grass typing means resistance, but Ground typing means weakness. Resistance + Weakness = Normal Effectiveness. So, in the end, I think Torterra still has a chance of winning.

Of course he is not weak against them... that wasnt that was I was trying to say... But Grass-Attacks are normal effectiv against Torterra, that is a big disadvantage against the other starters. And I dont think he would win against Meganium, Sceptile or Serperior...
But i think Torterra has a good chance against Venusaur. Thanks to the Ground-Typ Torterra loses his weakness against Poisons. And Ground-Attacks are normal effectiv against Venusaur because he is half Poison-Type. And Torterra can learn Earthquake that would surely hurt Venusaur... -------------------- |

OH... Right. Now that I think about it...
Torterra would take care of Venusaur, Meganium would then be the second to go, next Sceptile, and then it would be Torterra vs Serperior. Because of Serperior's speed and Contrary, I think that Serperior would win. Sorry for misunderstanding. -------------------- "The Chosen One's Team" (If you see anyone using this team, please tell them it's my team):

GTopaz makes a point - If you don't have a Poison TM for that Venusaur, and there are only 5 Poison-type TMs total, then the only thing that Venusaur benefits from it's Poison-typing is:
Slightly better resistance against Grass (0.5 turns into 0.25) Weakness to Fighting, Poison, and Bug turns into normal effectiveness BUT, Venusaur also gets bad things from it's Poison typing: Ground is normal effective Becomes weak to Psychic (x2) This furthers my point of Torterra beating Venusaur. -------------------- "The Chosen One's Team" (If you see anyone using this team, please tell them it's my team):

Torterra's part ground type makes grass types attacks have a normal effect on him instead of a non-effective effect. Which makes both Venusaur and Torterra equal. (By stat wise though, Torterra would beat the shit out of Venusaur.)
Venusaur would also have a great chance against the other starters since the grass type move would do 1/4 of the damage on him. Torterra would be his only problem. (Earthquake poweerrrrrrr!) This post has been edited by King of Disaster: May 5 2011, 05:19 AM -------------------- ayy
