So, I had my Conkeldurr paired against my adversary's Umbreon. Here's what happened:

Umbreon used Crunch.
Shin (Conkeldurr) used Close Combat.
Shin fainted!

Conkeldurr should have 1/2 resistance to Dark-type attacks, whereas this Umbreon took no damage from a 2X damaging attack (without using Swords Dance or the like before attacking). Can somebody inform me as to what happened? Thanks!

Umbreon is faster than Conkeldurr, to my knowledge...
It it could have gotten a critical hit. <<

Not a problem. Happy to help. Its scary what critical hits can do in the Battle Tower here... (if it was the case of being critical), and speed can make a huge difference.

I must say you are strong!

And yes it must have been a critical hit.

This looks more like a bug to me.

Are the lines in your first post straight from the battle log? Because a pokemon shouldn't faint right after using its own attack. It should have been your opponent's Umbreon that fainted, crit or not. x_x.gif

I believe so. I copied them and them posted this information at the end of my battle. I managed to win in the end; however, I thought this to be rather odd.
