Ever wonder if anyone has gotten a shiny Gyarados before? Or a shiny Snorlax? What about shiny Mew or any other legendary? This is the place to come and see.


Goal: To make a compilation of the dex by Shiny Pokemon.

How to submit: First you need a shiny pokemon. Any shiny will do. Then fill out this form!
Please use the (image) code!




FAQ:

• I know a user with a shiny /so-and-so/ pokemon. Can I post their image code even though it is not my pokemon?
Yes, as long as that pokemon has not been added to our dex yet.

• I have a shiny, but it is already listed here!
That is fine as long as it is your shiny you are posting. When we end up with too many, I will be providing links to the pokemon under the pokemon's image (such as _{[1] [2] [3]})- that way, we can also keep track of how many of each kind we have.

• I changed my mind and I want to evolve my pokemon.
That's fine, please post a reply here saying so and include the pokemon's image code again.

• How do I get a shiny so-and-so pokemon?
Grab a bunch of eggs and start hatching. It all depends on luck. It could take 1 egg or 300 eggs to get a shiny.

• Can I have a shiny?
No.

• Can I post a non-shiny pokemon for the dex?
Isn't this kind of obvious? No.

• Do novelties count towards their original form (Crystal Onix or Onix)?
Novelties will have their own section.

• Where can I find my pokemon's code?
You can get the code under the link on the pokemon's page.

• Can I be a member?
I did not create this group for exclusive membership for numerous reasons, one being drama. I don't want to brood any elitism among members or jealousy from non-members. If you're lucky, you're lucky.

I have a question - probably a very dumb one - but when Poke'mon evolve, do they still stay shiny? For example, if I had a shiny Meowth, would I then have a shiny Persian? The only other shinies I've ever had were Red Gyarados and a Minun, and those were in the actual PKMN videogames.

And yes. they do. I've seen a friend with shiny eevee. evolved it and still stayed a shiny.

It has to be GPX. This topic wouldn't be in the "GPX Groups" section if it weren't for GPX now would it?

Don't stress about it, I don't have any shinies on GPX either and I run this group. Though, I only have two legit shinies in game and I've played over 2000 hours in my Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum games.
It's supposed to be easier to get shinies on GPX and it'll come when you least expect it (so says Murphy's Law).


Can everyone please remember it's IMAGE code and not BADGE code?

If this were a Gen2 game, I'd say certainly. Always worth a shot though!

Update:

All posted shinies have been added to this point. Lookin pretty good so far!
As for what Hibari Kyoya suggested, we will accept other people's shinies so long as that shiny has not been added to the dex yet.

Oh drat. I forgot about that. Also on the first post you said to put the link that one of your Pokemon was in the dex in your Journal. However, the Journal doesn't accept url tags and does not let you put it in.

lol, yes they are! Some shinies just don't look very shiny. For example, shiny Pikachus are merely a slightly darker shade of yellow.

The breeder is never shown as a previous owner-- for whatever reason.




Do whatever you want with it! It's your shiny, I'd just like a heads up with your plans for evolving it.




Shiny pokemon do not have to be a vastly different color- see the eeveelutions for example. Jolteon and Espeon are green, Umbreon only has it's eyes and band colors changed, and Glaceon and Leafeon are just lighter tints. If you ever are unsure, just look at the pokemon's profile and it will say if it is shiny.

Update

I've already run out of image space... ;_; I'm going to rig a different way to go about it by combining multiple shiny images into one through photoshop, but it will take some time. For now, each Dex will be separated to it's own post- so I apologize now for double posting. It is an update, so...

It's okay, everyone makes a few slipups. I just happened to notice when one person does it wrong, everyone coming in afterward also do it like some chain reaction.

I thought I did it right but I didn't see my pokemon so I redid it in case you missed it and I added a link to the page becuase that seemed to be in others. That is all I can think is wrong and I did read the first post before I made my original so it should work.
Just figured it out, no badge. That was confusing, like half of them were and half weren't and then on the 2 page you say no badge.

Maybe you looked at the wrong dex is all I can figure.

Secondly, the form and first post always stated to use image codes, not badge codes but for the first two pages, everyone decided to not read the first post or use the simple form. So I decided to make the notice more obvious and repeat myself more often in hopes that works-- but people were still doing it, just not as often.
Only thing I can do now is ignore badge posts entirely to deter their use.

TL;DR Moral of this story: If someone jumps off of a bridge, don't follow them.

As for me personally, most my favorite shinies are going to be just from general biased of pokemon favorites (Meowth, Gengar, Aron, etc). However, my favorites in shiny form only?
I love the whole Nidoran male family and Charmander's line is fabulous. Koffing line is also such a pretty color scheme~ And everyone loves shiny Magikarp/Gyarados. I also like Cyndaquil, Sentret, Spinarak, Mareep, Yanma, Gligar, Ralts, Electrike, Swablu, Shuppet, Beldum, Shinx, and Buneary's family lines.
Singularly, my favorites would be Totodile, Ninetails, Venomoth, Magneton, Cloyster, Ditto, Eevee, Mew, Corsola, Lotad, Beautifly, Surskit, Minun/Plusle, Flygon, Zangoose/Seviper, Regice, Lati@s, Rayquaza, Mothim, and Rotom.

My favorite... is probably Beautifly. I love the retro aged colors it has but still keeps its vibrance. So pretty~ *o*

Ive seen two other shiny Togepi's but mine was first damnit! One of them is a Togekiss now but that thing is so wrong that I'm never turning mine into one.

you know you can get the the image code by going to your Public URL and then and then look for that pokemon and click it, there you should find the option of GET IMAGE CODES, click it and you will find the pokemons image code.

Well, to make use of this post, I'd really appreciate it if I could get some help. My decision is to split up all the families and have them linked that way, as to not create 20 posts with 20 spoilers to be able to post the images. However, to help you need image editing software that is compatible for .png files and transparency.

The link for the shiny images would be here: http://veekun.com/files/sprites/montage-dp-shiny.png However, it's not up-to-date for Platinum so... OTL I'll have to rip Sinnoh and certain pokemon individually myself.

As for what is needed to do, I need all Johto and Hoenn families. The images should be hosted to a photobucket account (or some account where it can be relocated if necessary) as individual files. You can send these in pms or posted here in a spoiler as to not page stretch.

For an example, here are the Kanto start families:





See how there are three images but nine possible pokemon? This will help out tremendously, as I've already breached the limit for the Kanto Dex.
Once I have the links from you, I can rehost them in my photobucket so they can be all in one place and updating will be relatively painless. Thanks again to anyone willing to help me out!

Hey, I've got an idea... If it's so difficult getting these images sorted (or just time consuming), why not, for now, just have links next to the Pokemon's name without an image?

EG:
001 - Bulbasaur: 1 2 3
002 - Ivysaur: 1 2
003 - Venusaur: 1 2 3 4 5 6

Of course you'd start adding pictures as you got them of the families... but this way you can deal with the backlog of shinies a bit, AND save space lines-wise
