Which Starter do you dislike the most?

For me personally it's Tepig for the fact that it's existence is so ironic.

Tirtwig. I hate everything about its line. Its so ugly and hard to look at. Thats an example of too much detail and too muted color scheme killing something.

Bulbasaur ofc. Compared to Charmander or Squirtle, it's basically a useless piece of crap.
I don't really have much of a problem with the other starters though, I just really dislike Bulbasaur. Though I'll admit it is kind of cute. c:

My least favorite would have to be Turtwig, since I barely choose it in my DPPt games and it doesn't interest me so much. Not that its a terrible Pokemon.

I'd also say the Tepig line; because it barely learns natural Fighting type moves and it's fire moves are really random. I used it once in my White run, but it wasn't working out for me. I liked Oshawott better.

It'd have to be Torchic or Chimchar. I would say Turtwig too but I freaking love Torterra.

With Torchic, I've never liked it nor its evolutions. Same for Chimchar.

I'd have to say my least favorite starter has to be Chimchar. It's hideous in every single stage, and it made the Fire/Fighting trend not stop since Gen 3. Blaziken was the first, and the only one that should be. >B(

Personally my least favorite would have to be Tepig. I rather like Tepig itself, but the evolutions. No, just no. But if it were to be just the starter itself, I would have to say Mudkip. (And am I the only one who's noticed that nobody's directly hated on Charmander?)

My tastes have changed a bit over the years, but for now my least favorite is the Chimchar line. Infernape is okay, but that's about it. I really don't like Combusken and Venusaur, either. I don't find them aesthetically pleasing at all.

...Except Tepig. Another fire/fight, and really disappointing for a fire lover like me, with disappointing evolutions.

Kanto starts are all okay... I like Chikorita (why so much hate? Jeez, not every Chiko is Ash's...) and Cydnaquil, but Totodile? No. Well, I guess Croconaw is okay...
I'm also fine with all three Hoenn starts. I love Chimchar (I have a plushie right here!) but I don't like either of the other Sinnoh starters and have never picked either. Unova was actually all disappointing. Dewott was the only starter or evolution I liked. I'd get Oshawott just to evolve it once, then never again. Kalos? #TEAMFENNEKIN

So, my least favorite three so far would probably be... Froakie (way overrated), Turtwig, and Tepig. One from each type.

Ghe, Chimchar is getting so much hate ;^; I mean, in game... Turtwig's cry sounds like an odd wheeze thing, and Piplup is like a faded demonic echo squeak giggle thing. But Chimchar... Chimchar just sounds really happy, and the cry is adorable for it. >///W///< Monferno's cry is like a standard monkey (w/e), and Infernape's cry is BOSS. Can't even deny it.

I agree. Chimchar is a very cool starter. Not my favorite Gen 4 starter, that goes to Torterra, but I still find it cool. Empoleon's the most badass penguin you will ever see. Chikorita's definitely not a Pokemon I would use, but I don't hate it. I guess what i'm trying to say is, I don't have a "least favorite". Each of them have their flaws, in terms of design and gameplay mechanics, as well as their assets. Though my favorite starters right now are Serperior and Greninja.

That is literally the best thing I've seen all day, and just makes me more adamant to get Mudkip when Omega and Alpha come out this year.

Starters I don't like... I *hate* Turtwig. In fact, I'm not a big fan of the grass starters (although I do love all of the starters from the first 3 gens). I'm also not a fan of Snivy or Oshawott (but I do love Oshawott's evolutions - with Oshawott it's almost like the creators ran out of ideas for a water Pokémon, y'know?), and I also don't really like Chespin.

The Torchic line has become really overrated, I think, so I've grown to dislike that recently. Also Chimchar's line is in my list of dislikes. Tepig's line too. Basically all of the Fire/Fighting starters. I don't have many I dislike, just I feel like Fire/Fighting became such a thing for three generations, and it felt so over done, and ugh.

The others, not so much. Like I've said before, Torterra and Serperior will always be my favorite Grass starters.
And Greninja, of course, but that's a whole other story...

Blaziken (i really didn't like it's appearance and concept until lately, when it started to grow a little on me, due to the mega evolution). But I still don't really like it.
Next, Tepig. Out of all the possible cool evolutions and designs (see deviantart!!) he ends up as another fire/fighting 'mon looking horrible.
Also, i don't like Delphox.

I freakin' hate pokemon concepts based on people body-types!! They manage to make them look wrong. A few of them are ok, but not a whole bunch

Always disliked the Bulbasaur line. Bulbasaur and Venusaur look ugly as hell, with Ivysaur being the only decent-looking 'mon in the line. Not exactly the best starter stat-wise either, and it annoys me how Bulbasaur deviates from the norm by having a Grass/Poison typing.

The only starter line I really hate is Cyndaquil's. Its concept is boring, and I've never been too fond of Fire types (with a few exceptions of course). For such a bland design it got way too much love from Pokemon fans that I never understood. I felt the Nidoking/Nidoqueen line had the same animal characteristics, but more intricate designs, as well as an intriguing dual typing that, quite frankly, all three Johto starters could have taken a page from.

Johto starters: for some reason, I find all three of them boring. ._.
Treecko, Torchic: also find them boring. I only really like Mudkip from the Hoenn batch.
Chimchar: it's a monkey. I've hated monkeys for years and I have no idea why. (Turtwig from Sinnoh is my favorite starter.)
Tepig: atrocious defense (I want stuff with good defense, thank you).
Kalos: um... I think I like all of them so far? Especially Chespin. I originally found it funny, but then Chesnaught came along.

Least favorite? Well, I never liked Pignite and Emboar. I'm perfectly fine with Tepig (although it's not my favorite), but the evolutions are very ugly in my opinion. Pignite in particular looks like an egg with limbs. As for Emboar... It just looks way too bulky and strange.

I was also very disappointed with Quilladin, especially since I planned on choosing Chespin. I was mainly upset due to its similarity to Pignite in shape, which looked very awkward for this Pokemon. But I didn't absolutely hate it, and it did grow on me a little bit. Especially since Chesnaught is pretty cool. But I still never evolved my Chespin when I chose it in Y, ha ha...

I personally never liked Tepig's line, though I love Tepig itself. I remember waiting for the game to come out so Tepig could be my starter and then I saw its evolutions and just...yeah, biggest letdown ever. xD

I sincerely dislike Samurott. To me, it looks like an ugly samurai. Literally Blaziken and Infernape would pull that look SO MUCH BETTER! Heck, even Emboar can pull off being a samurai, despite his fat ruining the outfit.

It's a tie between charmander and treecko for me. Treecko..annoys me. It's pretty irrational but..it ANNOYS me. Charmander is just sooo common. With me there's always a 50% chance that anything common will annoy me. Actually now that I think of it..I dislike chimchar, squirtle and bulbasaur as well. And most of the evolutions for all starters because they're hideous. Hmmm....

I would say the Chimchar line is my least favourite. Nothing is particularly wrong with them in terms of design or stats - indeed, I remember using a rental Monferno quite a bit in Pokemon Battle Revolution - but they just don't stand out to me in any way.

I'm seeing a lot of Sinnoh starter haters (I actually like them, though I'll be the first to admit that Piplup's final evolution was rather disappointing).

My least favorite has to be Chespin. I mean, Chikorita was adorable and I had an awesome Meganium, I guess Tepig is alright, and I adore the Sinnoh starters. But Chespin, just, ugh. It didn't look too attractive, the second evolution made little sense to me, and it's useless against the first gym in X/Y unless you let it learn Rollout. I don't think it makes a good competitive Pokemon, as well. I mean, Chesnaught was probably meant as a tank, but it's weak point is it's Special Defense (and a lot of the Psychic attacks are Special moves), so it gets shut down rather quickly, and the only moves it can counter Psychic types with are Bite and Shadow Claw, which most people will probably not even think of using. It's hidden ability likely isn't too good, as a person is more likely to use Flamethrower and Psychic than, say, Shadow Ball or Egg Bomb. The only saving grace for me is that the Shiny forms look decent.

The stuff that look like muscly boys and in general the really weird objectmons.

Like wtf? I really dislike these humanised pokemons that we're supposed to treat as companions and who disintegrate into red lights and we keep in pokeballs, but have body-builder or very human-like bodies...

In this category: the 3rd stage evos of Tepig, Chespin, Fennekin, Litten. The 1st stages are ok, but the 3rd... eww. Maybe Emboar less so but still.

Machamp is ok. Lucario is ok. Gardevoir is ok. Magmar is ugly as hell, yet can work out. But Chesnaught or Incineroar... NOOOO, not again, the same recycled concept.

For now, I don't have a least favorite. All starters, from Gen 1 to 7 are good in my opinion, some better than others but good in their own way. Now, that's maybe about to change if the supposed leaks of Gen 8 are true. If they are, Sobble, I'm sorry, I love you, but if your evolutions are *those* abominations, I'm picking you as my absolute hated pokemon. OMG.

Apart from the shiny, I'm not a big fan of the Tepig line for whatever reason. Never really been able to figure out why, I've just always felt resoundingly "meh" towards it. At least that HA is of some use. Also the Froakie line isn't great IMO [maybe I just got sick of seeing Protean Greninja being one of the only things used in online battles back in the X/Y days].


Unsurprisingly, the constant Charizard hyping by GameFreak has made me sick of poor Charmander as well.

Chimchar and Tepig are tied for least favorite starters. I never liked monkeys and Tepig's meh like everyone else said. Overall for some reason save for Gen 1 and 2 I detest the final evolutions of the fire starters as a general whole. Fuglier than sin imo.
