Anyone else have this game?
It's for the DS. It's a really good RTS. Now before anyone goes off on a "FF is overrated" rant or w/e this is only like the second FF game i've played aside from FFTA lol. The games combat revolves around espers which are basically summons but they are like little units. The game is played almost exclusively with the stylus. It has no multiplayer though, but the difficulty is pretty good since I am pretty sure the enemies level follows your own. There are loads of espers in this game, and about 8 or 9 regular characters/leaders. There are 3(technically 4) "natures" which dictate how the units are. Ranged, Melee, and Flying. Heal is a subset of Ranged. Melee is best against Ranged Ranged beats Flying Flying beats Melee Generally if you have an advantage you do more damage and take less, and flying v. ranged is the one that is the most influential in terms of combat. The espers are divided by nature as well, and you get them through a combination of missions and the "Ring of Pacts", you obtain them with auracite, and there are 3 ranks of espers, rank I is bought with 1 auracite, rank II with 2, and rank III is 3 auracite. You start with 2 summons per match and you can summon them through summon gates on certain maps with affinity. The game is a little hard to explain but when you play it's pretty easy to get a hang of it despite the somewhat slow beginning of the game, -------------------- I use Wi-fi but my pokemon are hacked, but have things within the field of legality in the game. I also have shoddy battle and I'm waiting for competitor.
Also I claimed Vaporeon. |

Is the top screen required? My DS has a broken top screen, but if it isn't really required, then I might get serious about finding it.
And my DS Lite won't come in for another few weeks, presumably. -------------------- |

Well the top screen definitely helps because its the battle map but a majority of the game is on the bottom screen

teach him the sprint and hide while the first guy runs around, then follow around the outside of the level, when you get the the chest wait till you have a clear run then go north into the bushes, get all the chests but the last one unless you're really confident, I think they make you weaker for this level too, then sprint as best you can to the door

I've heard a lot of people diss the game actually, but...
I loved it. It was WAY too short though. At first, I thought of Revenant Wings as blasphemy to the FF series, since I've played almost every title at least a little bit, and got through most of them. Took a little while to like, but after awhile I really started to love it. The game was too easy, too. Honestly though, it was mostly only the fact it took like 30 hours to beat that got on my nerves. Especially considering I'm at the second-to-last dungeon in FFXII (never had the interest to get past there) and I have 100 hours of play time. Expected Revenant Wings to be longer like that, I guess. -------------------- Haunter is mine!

DS games are never that long anyway. I guess it helped me to like it that I'd never played the PS2 one (FFXII) But now that I have The gambit system for the FFXIIRW pisses me off, I like the one in XII where you can do just about anything with the gambits (misses pheonix downs) They screwed up quickenings too, but I like what they did with the Esper summoning thing. It's gay they in that one level with blocked gates he couldn't summon, but in levels with no gates he holds up the cache of glabados and summons 2 Espers for each person...
Make sure Vaan knows sprint, then wait until the first guy walks over to the chest then right when he passes you behind the pole, use sprint to get to the chest, this should get you the item in the chest and you can sprint all the way to the west corner. After that it's mostly luck and sprinting like hell and hoping you don't run into the invisible archers, you should enter through the northwest steps up to the stone aisle, that's where the archers are, but you won't run into anything else and you can usually sprint past them if they don't immobilize you. Thats why it's luck based -------------------- These are my Topics which you should read, but probably won't (click to show ) =mine A glimpse into my mind(by clicking you are signing a waiver on your sanity) (click to show ) (\_/) \(n.n)/ (")_(") this is evil bunny, copy and paste him into your sig and help him keep bunny from taking over the world!!!
