Obtain one and check your Pokédex. ANYTHING that was stone-based, happiness-based or level-based in D/P/P functions the same; for EVERYTHING else, with exception to Leafeon and Glaceon, which are now stone-based, you need to wait five days. Also, many evolutions require certain items or times of day.

If you for some reason don't know what an item will do, please don't post a thread asking about it. Just check out some other Pokémon information sites that provide all that information. They do the same as in the game itself.

When you get a Pokémon that can use it to evolve, your Options drop-down will bold itself, then you just choose the Evolve option. Any Pokémon that requires you to trade it while holding the item in the game has to wait 5 days (doesn't have to be in the party) after its last evolution or its hatch date and then use the item with it. -------------------- Want a rotating avatar like mine?
