TIL = Today I Learned
TIL how to censor on my editor. Took a long time, and I now have lots of respect for people who blur out faces, or body parts, of people on tv and stuff. It felt like it took forever. ._.
I'm so proud to have learned it though that I felt like bragging. lol
So what have you learned today? ;)
Today I learned there really is no element of surprise.
Today, I learned that... even inanimate objects will defy you, once you're in a hurry.
TIL that I shouldn't be handling acids or bases in labs because my hands become uncontrollably shaky.
TIL France did not abolish the use of the guillotine until 1981, when the death penalty was outlawed entirely.
TIL what happens wen you use cake batter for homemade waffles instead of waffle batter.
^ That sounds interesting.
TIL that Handsome Jack and Cell from DBZ have the same voice actor. I recognized Torgue/Hercule/Mr. Satan right away, but Cell is my favorite DBZ villian so my mind was blown.
TIL that it's Jen's birthday today.

(technically yesterday): TIL the different settings in SAI. I never understood fully what the different settings did, but now I do and it's really helping in my art.
TIL that working on a Sunday is never a good idea. There goes precious note taking ;~;
TIL that my flute solo was fantastic, even if i messed up several times.
TIL how awesome the Bittercold's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=153rObYA0MQ is!
TIL that when I try to make my voice raspy and demonic for a project, I end up just mumbling.
TIL that procrastination is not my friend ;-;
TIL, trying to get back into gpx is way to easy ;A;
addictions ahoy!
TIL economics sucks and I should never have done it.
Today I learnt baking cookies by yourself can really be rewarding and worth the effort - especially if you can have all the cookies yourself! Haha.
...actually it's not a big surprise but I haven't bothered to do it before...
TIL any relative can become a complete stranger if you don't bother to keep in contact.
Today I learned that "Didi" (pronounced "deedee") is Hindi for "elder sister," and that people in India usually use titles (such as "Didi") for relatives instead of their relatives' actual names! (Well, we do that to some degree in the U.S.A., but only really with parents and grandparents.) My dad had friends over for dinner, a couple and their son, and the woman told her son to refer to me as 'Didi'.
TIL that finals are going to frighten me.
TIL how to fix my bike.
Had 2 flat tires
TIL to SAVE EVERY 2 SECONDS, because my computer fucking crashed after I just spent like over an hour on The Shadow's drawing request and IT'S ALL GONE AND I WANT TO CRY
^ *hugs*
Today I learned that LittleBigPlanet 3 is coming out, and will be released the same time as ORAS. Time to drain my bank account for a PS4 and both of these games!
TIL never trust your boss
Getting thrown on day shift after a year of being on nights because they think night shift doesn't get as much done as day shift; lol, if only they knew how much work we really did, fixing other peoples problems.
On the bright side, my boyfriend is being switched to days as well, so we can still work together
Thank you I re-did the avatar now, though, so at least that weight is finally off my chest. It's not as good as last time, though...
TIL (well, yesterday, but it was after my post yesterday) that there's this really short and easy trail that leads to this waterfall that you can stand behind, and I can walk to it from my Dad's house, AND almost nobody knows about it! It's beautiful, too...
TIL my cousin is more anti-social than he was when I last saw him (5 years ago)
TIL that I should stick to ordering books online, and be delivered to my house, rather than arrange for store pick up. Everything that could go wrong, did, and worse part was, even though I was in the shop earlier in the day asking about my order, I got an e-mail when I got home to say that it was now ready for pick-up. *Sigh* Oh well, at least thanks to their incompetence I got it ahead of the day when it was officially released, hehe.
TIL top never give Simon of the Yogscast too much power unless I want to get beaten with a stick.
Today I learned that Flareon can't learn SolarBeam. That's really weird.
TIL old!Tabitha fans are some of the most hateful, venomous fangirls on the face of the Earth. Good Lord. Some of their comments and artwork made me sick to my stomach, and it takes A LOT to get me worked up or worried over cartoon matters.
TIL that I can gargle.
Never needed it before but yes!
Today I learned that this post existed.
Today I Learned that fixing a fan is a lot harder than you think it is.
Today I learned that Arizona will always be as dry as a bone.
Today I learned that I don't like cottage cheese as much as I thought I did.
Today I Learned that I forgot how much I like Oomph!...
Today I learned that watching a security guard throw out a drunkard is quite pleasing.
Today I learned that there is a move called Ion Deluge. Gen VI introduced so many new moves, and it seems like I've never even known they exist.
Today I learned that walking in the rain is not as fun as they make it seem in the musicals. Forget singing in the rain. Try running from the rain.
Today I learned that if you want something doing, then you really need to do it yourself.
Every time...
Today I Learned that my laptop sucks and that I need to remember passwords.
Today I learned that my geography class is super boring & that it's gonna be a long 16 weeks.
TIL that there are Magic The Gathering players who make it a strategy to stink so bad that they force their opponent to quit due to them not being able to handle the stench.
Today I Learned that there is a fruit called the starfruit. I also learned, after looking at said fruit, that the Starf Berry is based off it.
Starfruit
Starf Berry
I see what you did there Game Freak.
TIL That I need to go more slowly when looking for eggs, was trying to get a specific one, and passed it over by mistake 3 times before I finely got it, lol.
Today I learned that frying stuff is remarkably easy. Well. frying rashers anyway.
TIL that I am probably one of the best procrastinators ever and that I will always find excuses not to do things until later.
Well, this more pertains to yesterday...
But anyways, I learned that the neighbourhood children go out of the neighbourhood for Trick-or-Treating... I had NOBODY come to get candy, and am now stuck with gobs of it. Three WHOLE BAGS!
Today I learned that people still fall into the console wars trap, even though gaming tech has just about completely plateaued out. People are fighting over the framerate and polygon count in the PS3 vs. PS4 versions of LittleBigPlanet 3, despite them looking freaking identical. (PS4 has some more minute detailing on the textures, but that's it.) They say that the PS4 version would look better if it was the only one the devs devoted their time to. False. They would look the same regardless because there are no more improvements to be made to gaming graphics to entice people to buy. Games have to be sold on their gameplay merits from now on.
The fight is so stupid because the main advantage that the PS4 version has over the PS3 version wasn't even brought up (infinite level creation on PS4 over a 20 level slot limit on PS3).
The graphics nerds need to pack up and go home. There's no place for them anymore.
Today I learned that procrastination is NOT your friend
TIL I hate dark souls, but love it.
I hate it so much, but can't stop playing.
Today I learned that I still can't gift wrap to save my life.
Even easily-shaped things like books are a nightmare and no matter how much effort I put in, it's never a nicely wrapped up gift.
Today I learned that my MacBook takes exactly 14 seconds to start up
Today I learned you can get headaches while getting used to glasses.
TIL that Gugure! Kokkuri-san season 1 has ended.
Today I learned there really is no element of surprise.
Today I learned that I'm capable of doing 25-30k interactions per hour! And I broke my record
Today I learned I like this game so much, I'm starting from scratch.
Today I learned I can skip an entire week of school if I act sick enough.
Today I learned that there is a Great Cave Offensive stage in Smash Bros. Wii U.
Today I learned that a person can blow bubbles using the fluoride from the dentist if there is enough on their teeth.
Today I learned that Greevil's Japanese name translates to Deathgold. That's such an awesome sounding name.
Today, I learned that if I want my preferred bacon or lettuce, I actually have to go to the supermarket to buy those two things before my mother goes out to do her grocery shopping. She picks ice berg lettuce of all things, and middle rasher bacon rather than the long strips with a bit of fat on them. In the case of the former, I'd rather graze out in a paddock with a herd of cattle and eat what they don't touch (serrated tussock, for example), because that ice berg lettuce is worse than a fucking weed. Maybe if I were a rabbit and got high off the leaves I'd sing a different tune, but if I had my way, the ships that carried it here would be partying with the Titanic before they even reached our shores. In the case of the latter, there's no flavour whatsoever, because they come packed without the fat! Also regarding bacon, I learned that if I want it cooked right, I have to cook it myself. I like it crispy to the point where it shrinks and curls. <3
I'm glad I'm not a president, or greengrocers and farmers would probably protest and send me care packages full of ice berg lettuce if they read this.
Today I learned how difficult it can be to prune a plum tree correctly.
Today I learned that it's still possible to use a Lugia with Psycho Boost from Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness in online battles. I'm legitimately surprised Smogon doesn't have a set for it with Pyscho Boost considering this.
Today I learned that if a person cooks seafood for too long it becomes rubbery.
I didn't learn this firsthand, but by asking cooking questions of one of my grandmothers.
Today I learned that having a headache and watching a YouTuber play LSD Dream Simulator is something you should never, ever do. Seriously. Don't try it.
TIL that Pokemon puns can be really, REALLY hard to make.
(geez, that's farfetch'd)
(*koffing*)
(don't espurr me on, bro)
Heh. I herdier complaints.
Words cannot describe...
TIL = I have a mouth like a sailor.
Today I learned karma eventually catches up on you
...
...
...
I got banned.
TIL that I never, ever, should go to the public room in my house, without thinking I can do something without being disturbed by two boys X'D They.. Well.. Tickled me and stuff. And made jokes. And followed me to my appartment when I tried to jokingly run away XD And then broke in and started to throw with bottles and bottlecaps
I live in a flat btw. Everyone has his/her own appartment, but there is a public room, accessible for everyone.
TIL that common household items become extremely uncooperative when you're in a rush.
Talking about karma, today I learned you shouldn't make up a cold as an excuse to not go out with friends, cause you're gonna actually catch one the day after.
i wanted to try my hand at making a trinket (i dabble in pixel art, but i am inept) and TIL how to finally use photoshops layers that darken, lighten, etc

TIL just how useful Compatibility Mode really is (specifically on GPX+).
TIL that having a weekly pillbox can help a person stay organized.
TIL that an extra teaspoon of garlic in my creamy garlic mushroom sauce and omitting salt makes for severe levels of perfection~
I then also learnt I made far too much dinner.
Today I learned about the velvet worm and how it hunts spitting out a type of glue that hardens almost instantly to trap their prey. Apparently, one species of velvet worm actually live in packs that have a social hierarchy with a dominant female that establishes her dominance with aggression. Pretty awesome!
Today I learned that I can't have Lugia as a housepet or else my apartment will blow up, Michael Bay Style.
XD
Today I learned that according to something I read on the "quick question, quick answer" thread, about every 100 interactions counts as a level on the Pokewalker. I always thought it was a completely random amount of interactions that caused the Pokemon in there to level up.
I learnt about using a shiny recorder ._.
I learned that sleep is very important for our health
I know, it's very basic, but we tend to forget it again and again.
TIL that I'm a massive idiot because I managed to release my only shinies (a shiny ampharos and a shiny butterfree) somehow. arceus damn it.
Chianti used to be considered a fancy, expensive wine. Also, octopi are mollusks.
