Hey guys! Did you all enjoy last month's thread? (: I hope so! Every month a new community thread will be made and the old one will be discarded into the archives. I don't want a super huge thread to continue to get even bigger, so I hope everyone is excited for a fresh start every month!

If you're new here then don't be shy! The community thread is the place to come and chat with fellow members of the site who share a common interest with you. Talk about whatever you want, whether it's GPX related or something going on in your personal life, just be sure to read the rules first before posting. There's always someone on the forums to read and respond to your posts, so chat away and maybe you'll meet some great people!

Rules

• Regular forum rules still apply here. Basically don't double post. Don't ask for clicks every time you fill your party. Unless it gets out of hand*, I'm okay with you linking to an exploration Pokemon who needs a specific berry.
  
  *out of hand meaning I don't want to see Pokémon being linked just for leveling or if they need drinks for happiness. These kinds of interactions can be handled just fine by being in your parties and signatures.
  
  
• Do not post your shinies here, there's a http://forums.gtsplus.net/index.php?showtopic=5491 for that. Discussing them is OK though! Just make sure you add content to your post.
  
  
• [NEW] Make sure your post contains worthwhile content. If you're posting an exploration Pokémon to be fed berries then be sure to add other content to your post. Same with discussing shinies. Find people to reply to or start a discussion yourself! Your post must, with the shiny portion and berry feeding hypothetically removed*, not read as if you're talking to yourself. To clarify, your post should not be an out-loud thought to yourself, and should contain more general discussion than just information on your current shiny luck.
  
  *if you were to read your post, skipping over any mention of shinies, the post should still sound like a good post.
  
  If any posts are found breaking this rule then they will be instantly deleted and handed a 10% warn.

Monthly Raffle - Updated for new method

Nominations are now gone, and I'm using post count to determine how many entries you have into the raffle. The first 19 posts you have will count as one entry, and every ten after that will count as an extra. Think of it as the first number of your post count is how many entries you have. To see what your post count is, click on the number of replies any certain thread has. Nothing else on the site will influence the amount of entries you receive, so if you'd like a chance to win, then post here frequently!

The raffle is what chooses who gets to choose what's in next month's egg distribution. There are no other site advantages other than that, and even then the whole site gets a chance at that Pokémon that you chose!

How to get an egg from this event

• You must keep at least one slot open in your party.
• You MUST have logged in sometime on GPX+ in the last two weeks.
• You can not be in the restricted group.

IMPORTANT EVENT NOTES

1. No, you do NOT have to be online at the time I am sending out eggs.
2. These eggs do NOT show up in the Lab for the event. They are sent out randomly.
3. There is ONE set shiny for each Pokémon, but every other egg has a regular chance of being shiny.
4. If you obtain ONE of the eggs from this event, you will NOT be able to obtain another one from this same event. This means if you get an egg on day 1 of this event, you can't get an event egg from any other day during this event. By the way, abandoning an event egg does nothing. So if you get one you might as well keep it and be happy.
5. If we find any accounts being made just to get eggs from the event then they will be immediately banned along with your main.
6. If you were a winner of the raffle, your chosen Pokémon will be spawned into your party on the day of the event. It won't be forced shiny, but there's always a small chance just like any other egg! This will not count as an event egg and you can still receive one from the event.
7. There is no guarantee that you'll receive an egg. There have been about 3k users online daily and there are only 1,750 eggs going out, so that at least gives you a little more than a 50% chance at getting something.
8. Eggs chosen will not be available to pick from again for 3 months. If x egg was in the January egg distribution, then it can not be chosen again until April.
9. The event runs at 4 p.m. server time.

• August 2nd: Rayquaza - Winner: The Majestic Mr L - 350 eggs
• August 3rd: Zekrom - Winner: Lord Raven - 350 eggs
• August 4th: Kyurem - Winner: Gryphaena - 350 eggs
• August 5th: Past Misdreavus - Winner: Rhapsody - 350 eggs
• August 6th: Jirachi - Winner: Glaceon Trainer - 350 eggs

Guh, it's been so hard to play lately because I have this terrible pain in my right wrist that's been flaring up after I get off of work. Probably too much typing AT work. It's making it extra difficult to play.

But YAY RAYQUAZA! Gonna try for one both for mega reasons and shiny reasons.

I also got my wish. I completed a plate mid-way through DotW so now I want to see if i somehow get that one instead. There is no way I'm embarking it for a third time so soon though. I think my arm needs to recover (maybe thats why it hurts lol)

Well this is the first time that I've been around reset time. Being on another country brings certain perks. I'm glad Kyurem was one of the chosen mons for the egg distribution since I need one for the living dex and it keeps me from wasting a slot doing the exploration for it (especially since I'm missing two pixies and all kamis).

I kickstarted exploding kittens when it first started its fundraiser, and I will cry for those who didn't jump on board to fund it. It is so epic and I am ever excited to have a little comic from Oatmeal to remember/ going to frame.

I'm doing Kyurem right now and I'll be doing Guardians later, possibly tomorrow. I have a wedding for my cousin to go to later so I won't be on for a good part of the day. I'm not sure which event Pokemon I want. The mystery one is intriguing, so I might wait for that, unless I change my mind.

Fed it an Aspear, Raven. I'll try to hit it again before reset when I use my odd incense. I usually try to hit exploration pokemon twice a day with the right berries but it's harder if I'm at work and clicking from my phone.

I didn't actually look at/participate in the trash talk thread for the SWSH... mostly because I didn't even really participate in the SWSH because I was stuck on Task 11 it was pure luck that got me a shiny Inkay before time ran out. I do think it's good to have a place to post and encourage friendly competition though

Fed the dedenne july went like crazy for me, but at least my parents are back from their three week holiday to Japan. The house is somewhat noisy again...

Also congrats to Wulfenite for winning the SWSH (I would assume, I haven't actually checked) and all the winners of the distribution raffle I'll probably go for Rayquaza, but let's see what happens. Everything is a chence for a shiny after all! I do look forward to the start of the month!

Edit: raven: fed the teddy. About the SWSHTT, I thought that it was a good concept overall but I didn't post into it in the end I don't think. It was nice to see users being encouraging to other users, but more than anything it's good to keep the discussions separate. It does start off fairly aggressive, but once a clear winner is determined the crowd sort of dies. I don't think there would be a lot that can be done to change that though.

As for the trash talk thread? Iunno, I get the feeling the trash might have scared some people away from it, when all they wanted was peaceful chatter. Maybe make one thread specifically for trash and one specifically for discussion? I'm not sure.

Well im off to bed after almost having a heart attack... i should have waited to summon but it was just too tempting. after my 10 minutes were up and people magically came into the lab because their "hey free legend senses were tingling" i got it... it was so stressful but im happy. now i can relax and sleep and enjoy some nightmares? Well they arent really nightmares but they arent really dreams either... weird thingys that happen when i sleep. have been occurring alot these days... oh well i dont hate them they just make me think till my head explodes. like last nights.... i dont even know what was going on it was just... confusing

Hey a girl can dream right?

So I decided to pop in just to jump on the band wagon being all PWURPLE KECLEON! It's like my fave pokemon ever!

My life has gotten interesting. The bf decided he wanted us to get into pokemon TCG. Well he is royally peed off because I have like 5 full art EX cards. Including Mew EX Doesnt help that the one game I played with him I owned him with a bibarel XD

So have you all heard about the game Yo-Kai Watch? My local GameStop is saying a lot of people are excited about it. One of the employees showed me a game trailer for it and I am totally putting it on the Xmas list for sure!

Happy August, everyone. The SWSH is finally over, and the new novelty looks awesome. (I'm glad Wulfenites won.) I didn't expect today to have a Plus Power activated, but I noticed it's someone's birthday, so happy birthday!

I'm currently doing the DotW, so I won't be starting any of this month's Special Explorations until I'm done with that. And speaking of which, please help save this Dedenne. It got itself hurt again.

I hatched so many Scatterbugs these past two weeks that for a moment I had trouble remembering what my other hunts were.
Anyway, YAY WULFENITES It had been so long.

I didn't see the novelty yet, only just got the egg, but I'm happy it's ready already. I'm looking forward to the potential surprises this month has in store (achievements maybe ? )
I think I'll go for Zekrom or Kyurem in the egg distribution event... I'll wait to see for the last one, too.

do you mean, 1 drawing each day for 30 days long, or 1 big drawing you spend 30 days on perfecting?
i asume it's the first since the latter would be hard to estimate but either way i'll be looking forward to those drawings
btw your devian page contains some nice work, i prefere the realistic ones but guess that's just personal taste

anyway recently i've been trying to continue on Alpha saphire to complete the dex and i came upon a regirock, now i've been soft resting for days now hoping to get it as a shiny, wich is kind of boring even while playing a game and watching tv at the same time, but do any of you do multiple things at once while playing a game

In order to use the gaming post (and by extension the IRC channel) we need to organise set times for gaming. Like we did in the first thread. If you just say 'oh, do it whenever' then no-one will do it! That's lazy.
What we should do is set down times for everyone to gather in #gpxgames, and then see what we can all play together. That way people might set aside time to do some community gaming. More importantly, if people do not turn up one week then we should advertise it / push it harder so more people know!
It's a real pity that we could all play some games together as a GPX community, and the opportunity is being sort of wasted. (Before you say anything, this thread is a pretty bad way to organise games, since people reply to it rather slowly and they probably won't want to join in at any random time.)

Also, why can't we get a Plus trio during an actual SWSH? ;_;

The change in the raffle seems to be for the better I think. Posting before now always made me nervous because it felt as if I had to appeal to certain people. Now I can just relax, hah!

Also August is shaping up to be a good month already, and it's only just started. The huge slew of birthdays (and thus possible multipliers), amazing selection of explorations and the promise of a new one, plus more surprises in store have me so excited. I can't wait!

Haven't been very active lately, but I'm back now for another month. Congrats to the Wulfenites for winning the SWSH! At least we were in the lead longer than the Malachites.

It looks like I missed some new novelty? Purple Kecleon? How do you get it? Since I don't see any official announcement about it, nor a new exploration? Or will it be the new exploration mentioned in the news thread?

I think I'm gonna wait a bit to see which special explorations I'll do this month. If I can get Kyurem from the give-away, I can go for both trio's, otherwise I'll drop the Lake Trio for Kyurem.

The Purple Kecleon is the prize for the SWSH. If you finished it the voucher should be in your inventory. Otherwise you can purchase it in the Prize Shop for 30 Prize Points.

August is starting well for me, i just found an Ascension Stone and I am fortunate enough to get a Kyurem this month even though I'm doing TBD for the third and final time.

Had to buy a Sh. Race Prize Voucher for Purple Kecleon cuz i sucked this month at shiny hunting. xD

I think I'll just have nine units next semester, my mom says that's full time for disabled students.

Occupational Cooperative Education is four units, Basic Business Bookkeeping is three units and the two Plant ID classes are one unit each.

Last semester i had 11 units with five classes because one class was needed to be an intern at the local Botanic Garden.

That was not good for me.

I ended up havin Ds in two classes.

I'm happy with this month explorations, haven't obtained Mesprit yet, and I can do the Kyurem exploration finally (due to my 2 year break I didn't have oppurtunity to do it so I'm happy with it now). As well the giveaway seems lovely, hoping for that Shiny Rayquaza.

I guess I'll try this again. The rules seem a bit clearer now.

I've actually hoped we get Purple Kecleon one day And since I want my shiny living dex to include novelties, I'm also glad it's a novelty without evolutions. xD But it'll always remind me I still have to wait for Etrian Mystery Dungeon for another 42 days...

And I like the new raffle system much better than the old one. I ignored nominations entirely since I had no idea what makes one active poster different from the other. Then I would have nominated everyone and that kind of defies the point... yeah, I'm not good at social subtleties.

I'll probably go for Kyurem for the egg distribution since every time the Kyurem exploration comes up, the other two are more important to me. xD Need to finish the Ditto exploration first though... I'm lacking motivation to click and am far too distracted by other things.

I saw that some of the kancolle girls gotten summer art, pretty cute to see it. Such a shame it's temporarily.
The event will begin in a few days (10th of August) and with a lil bit of luck I may be able to get a few nice drops.
I was told submarines will drop on the event maps if you're lv 40, and I'm lv 24 so that's still a while to go.
BUT the usual maps drop m at 80 so event maps are definitely a good thing.
I wanna try getting I-19, which is my favorite submarine out of the current characters.
She's really cute!

Since you can get the one "you" won as well as one from the 350 being given out. Which, if not already done could give all three Kyurem forms in one month.

Well, there's nothing wrong with having duplicate legends? You might hatch one with better IVs or nature, or perhaps even a shiny one!

I have a box in my PC called 'V Rare' that I fill with surplus legends I hatch. When it's full, I release them all into the safari. Makes newer players happy, and makes my day interesting to see who grabs what.

A friend of mine pulled a similar trick when I asked for their address.
They felt uncomfortable telling me their address, so they encoded it and hoped I'd manage to decode it xD
Took me half an hour but I found a converter that could do the job for me.

I wonder what it says tho... would you be willing to share with us what it is?

Raffle: I hope to get Rayquaza. Not only do I love its shiny color, Nobunaga! (and it is also my lowest in IV's from the lot)

This months special explorations: I always base mine on who has the lowest IV's, so I'll be starting off with Mansion of the Gods (Thundurus) and ending with Guardians (Uxie).

I can also go for a Insect Arceus now, thanks to the scatterbugs I hatched for the shiny hunt. =D So this month shall be busy for me. I also noticed I may have to sit out this Scavenger Hunt. I'll be camping the first four days of it. Unless I magically can get a signal up in the woods. (doubtful)

I was amazed to see it on my steps because I didn't get a e-mail with a shipping code...so who knows, they may have a trick up their sleeve for you! =D

So, anyone else here watch Game Theory on YouTube? I just watched the theory on FNAF4 and it was really neat. I'm not much of a FNAF fan, creepy games just... I can't do them anymore. I have no idea why because when I was a kid I could watch scary movies like no one's business but as I got older horror stuff just stopped sitting with me well. (I don't even know how I manage to watch The Walking Dead sometimes.) But anyways, I still love watching the theories. It makes it rather interesting.

You know whats funny? When I first heard about the whole 'bite of '87' thing and the kid who got his frontal lobe bit off for awhile i thought they meant... the ear lobe. Aahaha...hahaha.

I know. Go figure. My brain just doesn't always compute stuff properly. I can't even watch people play because this game like LIVES off of jump scares and I just... can't do those. Creepy stuff just in general makes it hard for me to sleep at night and I usually don't calm down until one of the cats have jumped on the bed and curled beside me. I guess I've just become more anxious over the years.




Basically the raffle is you get X-amount of virtual 'tickets' based on how many posts you make in this thread. 19 posts will equal 1 entry, every 10 after that will equal another entry.

Happy August, everybody! My friend came to visit me and we just made crepes and hash browns a little while ago for breakfast. It was fun! I've never made crepes before, but I think I did a pretty good job. Other than that, I finished task 11, so DotW is... sort of halfway close to being done. XD I'm excited that I'll actually be able to do the special explorations this month.

People win the chance by, as of the end of last month, posting in this thread. You get one chance for the first 19 posts, and then an additional one for every ten posts after that. So, let's say that you have posted 19 times, you'd have one chance to be chosen for which non-Arceus Legendary or Novelty pokemon everyone would have the chance to get.

As to how you get the eggs in the period between the 2nd and the 6th, just keep at least one spot open and hope for the best.

I was under the impression that this was referring to just the nominated party, and that the other giveaway eggs sent out randomly to whoever has a space open. Could be completely off-base, though.

When I first realized that the game was centered around the bite of '87 story (and saw the specific scene about the bite itself), it made me confused for exactly what the Game Theory episode on FNAF 4 spoke about (not going to spoil in case people haven't watched yet). I was glad to see it wasn't just me who thought there was a logic flaw.

I had my first crepe when I went over to France on a college group trip last year. Our group went to a shop specializing in crepes and I ordered a honey crepe. It was delicious, so if you ever have the chance to try one, I recommend it~

As long as I know what to expect, they don't bother me. I easily get used to patterns like "something will jump out of one of x defined places and scream at you". It's the games where anything could happen and I have no clue what comes next that give me trouble.

Whoa, it's been a while. Of course, I'm out of town right now and am having lots of fun in Oregon with Wymsy. Kinda hard to spend too much time at the computer while I'm here. Loving it, though. It's so peaceful and beautiful, and where we are, the weather is so cool and refreshing.

I both love and hate jump scares. I've been exposed to SO many screamers back in the day, and even though I can look at them now and not jump as much, they still startle me. I guess the nostalgia of it kinda makes it easier for me, though. I do enjoy watching LPs of FNAF since I'm not the one controlling it. >_>

Also, crepes are delicious. I especially love s'mores crepes all loaded with marshmallow, chocolate, and graham cracker dust. Mmmmm. Savory-wise, I like chicken teriyaki crepes, chicken parmesan crepes, turkey and cheese, crab... well, just about anything.

Hey guys, does anyone know any ways to make new friends? I'm kinda lonely at the moment and I don't seem to be very good at the "socialization" thing. Or at least I'm not good about finding any ways to do so.

I don't have any certain hobbies, or hobbies that include going outside. I'm working so I can't make any friends in school and my work is kinda independent so I'm not spenting too much time with co-workers. This.. friendlessness is driving me miserable since I don't have anyone to talk with (except my boyfriend but we all know it is not enough). Ughug.

Do you have any ideas where to meet new people? That are also willingly to make new friendships. >.>

I should really search through youtube and try to find more youtubers to watch. I usually just listen to music or watch Game Grumps.


I don't mind jump scares. But I don't watch them much. I've also watched a few FNAF LPs. I jump every time one of the robots jump out.

What's this about FNAF

I love these games. Not so much for the gameplay, but the lore man. The lore is so mysterious. I must know more. There's so much that's unanswered. Oh, and Game Theory is awesome. The theme song is so catchy too.

@Sleeppari: one thing to consider is to go out with your work colleagues. If you have a Friday night out, sometimes you can inadvertently find new people to talk to. Another thing is to start up a random class ad see if you enjoy it. If you do, your class mates may be friends even when the course finishes I've taken up sign language for nearly two years, and it's essentially a skill which can broaden my horizons to the Deaf culture (although I wouldn't say I'm great haha). Even another language would, if you don't like your class mates, it could make a good conversation topic to anyone new you meet

Interests huh? Pokémon maybe? :D Erm. I like games and books and that's almost all I do on my free time. Sure there is people who likes games and stuff just like I do but it seems that there is not-so-much girls that are interests in the same things and the boys are not so.. talkative that I'd like. When your interests include things that keep you inside your apartment it is hard to go out and meet with people who have the same interests. Also I'm not one of those guys who likes to play multiplayer games and play online, I like adventurous stories and games what I can play on my own whenever I like, not when my team is online.

I tried to search with my native tongue some sites where to meet people but I ended up with only one site with very dead commynity. Sigh.

Uh well.

@Orenji: Just today I pictured that I'd ask to hang out one of my collegues but then he seemed like he's in hurry so I didn't want to bother him. :'D
Actually I started to go on Japanese language course last year and hope for to get new friends from there. I have been there two "semesters" and haven't made a single friend yet. My relationship with the classmates is just "hello" and "goodbye" when I see them randomly somewhere, like we can recognize each other but we don't have anything else to do with each others. I'm not good at bonding with people, it seems.

I once thought it would be fun to learn sign language but I didn't have a good reason enough to really bother to learn it. It would just be so cool and I really love to get to know new things, like the Deaf culture you mentioned. Things you don't really be able to learn until you try it by yourself.

Where my parents live the library is a nice place to hang out but here in the "big city" we have over 10 little libaries all over the area and they are not that comfy as I have get used to. :c I haven't visited in the main library, maybe I could try it and see if it looks more like a place to meet up with new people.

I'm kinda this too... also it depends on the age you have to suggest you something xD I don't want to say "go to a pub" if you have 15/16 or similar xD I guess... but I found a pub in my city in which there is music i like more or less (some rock and some metal) and I meet some people there with some interests in common... BUT sometimes my friends don't want to go out or something and I'm not going out forever alone xD so i don't know... you don't have to go with people with the sames hobbies, you just need something to join the group, something in common, or a hobby indeed, but there are some differences too, and this is the great part, the differences between all people.
Now we meet at my place (a garaged prepared for "party" and so) and we have dinner, play some board games or cards, and listen to the music I set xD (sometimes metal, sometimes final fantasy haha, they trust my good taste in music)

Sometimes it's good to walk alone on the street some time and listening to music with earphones (if your city has some peaceful places to walk, not a busy roads and so xD) also... meet people depends too on the number of people on your city... at big cities people go more individual (at the beginning at least) and small towns couldn't have so much variety of kind of people, so... probably that's a factor too...

Also, i met people when I went out with my cousin, she knew some people I didn't, and now my current friends here in my city are 2 of them xD

..And if you only want to talk, there are so many people on internet xD haha i don't know... you could find some people in so many places and social networks i guess (I don't like the internet way so much... but, it's a way)

Lizards and snakes are usually sooo adorable. I could have get one when I was a teenagre since my mom liked the idea but we didn't have any place to set up the terrarium.

@GothMetal: I'm 21 so pubs are maybe just the place the people on my own age are spending their time. Sadly, I haven't never been in a one, I don't drink and the "party" part is not for me. I'm not too much a group person, more likely to be found with one or two people at the time.

This is quite a big city in Finland where I live and this is a grate place to study, here is a lot of people around the country and from other countries too. Too bad I'm not a student myself so it is a bit hard to make friends from the university. :'D

Ah the internet. Yes, sure there is a lot of people here, still it is kinda hard to find any place to just.. talk. Nowadays it seems people are using Whatsapp as a place to chat with and I'm from ice age or something since I don't have an iphone or any other phone like that. Poor old Nokia is all I got. Haha.

I make myself sound such a boring creature. :D No wonder why I don't have any friends.


I love board games that include some quiz. Also games where you have to tell the world without saying the actual world. It is called Alias here in Finland but I'm not sure is it the name in the other countries.

sure i finaly managed to fix and upgrade the converter, took me a while because it contained some flaws that only showed up when i tried to make the decoder
btw don't bother searching vor a decoder online, since it's my own creation i would be suprised if there was one online

As for me, I have...8 shiny novels (including 1 fossil), 1 shiny Ditto, and 1 shiny legend, Godslayer the Rayquaza. I'm glad I've been as lucky as I have, but only 4 of those novels were on the recorder I still need Undaunted....

My first and only shiny legendary is my Shiny Shaymin. It is one of my favourites so it made me extremely happy! Also first shayming I ever summoned.

I need the undaunted too.. I have got few shiny novelties BEFORE shine recorder was even invented and after that I have got only three. >.> Still I'm pretty happy with my Shiny Magma Totodile I got, took only 331 eggs, Shiny Icy Horsea took 665 eggs in recorder and in total even more since I started the hunt before shine recorder.

Ok jokes aside, most neighborhoods tend to have to special meetups for people who'd love to make social contact with others, groups that go out together or talk or eat together, or do other fun stuff.
I think the easiest way is making clear what your interests are, and from there, try find groups of people who also do that stuff, and then try make some friends there.
Contrary to popular belief, friendships cannot be forced, so even if you join, there's no guarantee you'll become BFFs with everyone But I bet you could befriend one or two of the bunch~

Most people attending such meetings/groups, are people who are just like you, wanting to have a new friend they can talk to and do fun things with! So perhaps you could give it a try or think about it?

I wish there was a kancolle group in my country but no one even knows what it is T_T or that it even exists.

But at least make sure it's a group that has at least 1 common interest.
There's probably something you like that a lot of other people like as well.

Oh so the Purple Keckleon IS in the anime! I knew it! I said to my boyfriend that there is an episode in the anime where is a Purple Keckelon and he said it is from Mystery Dungeon since some one here posted so. Then I'd remember it certainly is from a Mystery Dungeon, but I was so sure it is from the anime, too..

@Luneon: Is that a thing? I have only said hello one time to some one who lives in this same apartment and the neighbourhood has mostly families with small children. Landlord has announced a trip to a zoo in this month but it was already full when I tried to sign up. :'D

Maybe there is some meetups and groups out there, I'm just not informed of them.

I don't have much luck with shiny legendaries... I hatched 628 legendary and corrupted legendary eggs, and I hatched only one shiny : Primal Dialga.
I hope I'll get another soon (and I hope it will be a real legendary this time).
I also have a shiny Palkia, but I found it in the Safari so x)

I have 13 shiny legends/novelties. 4 legends and 9 novelties. Yet I still don't have undaunted because I only recorded 4 thus far. EB... come on... I've wanted you since I joined this site, I won't give up on you!

Also, my mail just got here and I just got the most ADORABLE cuties! I don't know if anyone here collects at all, but this month was a big month for releases from the Pokemon Centers in Japan. They had some beanie style Pokemon that come in both 'asleep' and 'awake' styles - I got two Jolteons and a Pikachu. And THEN there was also the big release of Ninetails - her first official plush! Though I don't collect her I had to buy it. I wish her muzzle was just a little longer but she's still absolutely gorgeous.

I also got my order from pokebox - a custom maker. Just some small things, a cute eeveelution clearfile, some buttons and whatnot.

It was a good mail day.

I stopped watching the anime somewhere during Johto, so I probably missed that episode. I want to watch them all one day, but I'm not sure about the language. German for nostalgia reasons, but some character names... eh, no thanks. English for the names I'm used to, but I really don't like English dubs. Japanese with subs is incomplete and will take far too long until everything is released. (I'll probably keep putting this off until all episodes are released and I'm 50 or something.)

You should totally play it! I had kinda started Gates to Infinity but was too lazy to really start playing it. A month ago I finally decided to give it a try and played it and I got totally hooked. I have played the previous Mystery Dungeons aswell but I was just too bothered by slow text speed on Gates to Infinity to really start it. :'D I'm happy I started playing it again, it was awesome<3

Whenever I'm visiting my parents we play some quiz games with my little brothers. Ah good times. When I was younger I played a lot with my aunt and uncle but they live different cities so I can't play as much with them as I'd like to. They have some awesome board games, tho. And some card games too.

Fed it!

It says everywhere that the weather here in Finland have been awful this summer. Cold and rainy. Where? What I have experienced it have been very humid and warm every day, sun have been shining and temprature have been 20 degrees celcius (25 degrees in my apartment ;__;). For those who don't understand celcius, it is like 68 degrees fahrenheit outside and 77 degrees inside.

It has been 100% humidity on many days and as a finn I really know what sauna is and I don't need to go to the sauna to experience it, just sitting on a coach is enough. >.> This is horrible and some ones are whining this summer is a disaster. I can't stand the heat and they have forecast it'll be like 30 degrees (86) on the next week. Ugh.

@Luneon: Those are a thing here too. Just that usually they are full of sell and buy adverts. Maybe I'll give it a try and check them time to time to see if there is anything else than selling/bying.

I like warm weather, but this summer it's too much.
Here it's around 30 ~35°C outside every day, a little less inside with my fan... And NO RAIN. No rain since early June ;-; I need rain. It was supposed to rain today but the sky must have been like "haha nope", because not one drop fell.

I have a weather widget on the home screen on my phone, and it says that it's about 95 degrees (Fahrenheit) where I am. Not sure exactly what the temperature is inside. I assume somewhere between 75-85 maybe?

It doesn't feel very hot when we have the ceiling fans on, but we can't have them on much because by brother gets sick when they're on.

hehe thats not as bad as here... I live where its supposed to be cold and rainy year round but this summer hell even last winter was like summer never got under 57 degrees. Right now its 79 but the real feel is 85 with the humidity at like 83%? maybe more and we're not even at the peak of the day yet. its only 1:45 for me and when it gets to 4 its probably going to be over 90. real feel gonna be about 95-98. i want it to snow T_T

I know it is not bad here at all, last summer was way more awful than this. It was extremely hot and it lasted very long. But I don't understand why everyone here is whining about the weather when it have been really summerish. It haven't even rained that much that the news says! Or not atleast here where I live. Maybe all of finns should live here in the Northern parts when here is really "nice" and warm?

When here rains it doesn't help anything at all. Tempratures doesn't drop and it is just wet and even more humid than it was before. I have asked for a nice little rain to cool things up but no, it jsut stays the same. >.>

I don't know how you people can manage when the heat is what it is. My aparment has one big window on the living room and the sun is shining directly here the whole day. There is no fans. :c And the sun is shining even in the night so it won't cool at all!

Do you maybe have a facebook account? I ain't part of any of such groups myself but I seen some fb groups that organize things in the neighborhood/city, so maybe there's some for yours as well.
Another thing you could look at are forums specifically for people in your country, or which have a specific board for people from there!
Oh! Before I forget, we have those special neighborhood hangout places where people come to hang and relax. Maybe there's some ads there as well, or maybe someone there knows some people or groups with your interests?

It didn't even get to 27, sadly. I love myself some heat so I'm looking forward to the days I won't have to wear thick sweaters again for a while. Last time we had such temperatures was.... 3 weeks ago? 4 maybe? 5?

how one can manage that? don't know for others but i deal with it like i deal with most things, ignore it as much as possible, block it from your mind, the better you can do that the less your body should react to it

and no i'm not kidding, though it's a dangereos technique if used to much, i tend to get emotionless from it, on the other hand at least it helps deal with pain

@Luneon: I'm a part of some forums of my interests but they are kinda dead. :/ Few years ago I made a new friend from Finnish Pokémon forum but nowadats he just plays LoL and doesn't have any time to chat. When I was younger there was a lot of forums and places to make new friends but it seems that they are all dead for now and Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Instagram.. you name it, are the main place to chat and hang out. I don't find them (except Facebook) places for me. I haven't checked ever any FB groups for my city, maybe I should.

Back then I have made a lot of friends but when MSN Messenger died I lost contact to most of them and can't find a way to find them anymore, I don't remember their whole names to search on facebook ;__;


@bandon: I sweat like a pig when it is even a little bit heat somewhere. I just can't ignore it even tho I wanted to. The warmness and the heat is not that bad and makes being outside more pleasant but I can never wear that less clothes to feel comfortable with my sweatiness. :P

Maybe I misunderstood the beginning of the video, but didn't matpat say he also created the video... prior to the game's release? I know the video got released AFTER the game was but considering the work that goes into making a video and because of his whole 'context' clues introduction, it seemed he'd had the idea planned for what was to come and had wanted to get it out before the game ever did.

I mean that doesn't make it any less error-y but possibly a bit more understandable on how he made the error or why he still decided to release the video even if he later noticed it after it released. I mean, going through all that work between himself and everyone else who worked on it just to scrap the idea and purge the video would kind of suck for the people involved. Regardless, I still thought it was interesting and fun. I certainly don't regret watching it at all. The whole science-y stuff that he adds in is still really fascinating to me.

Now I feel a bit sad because I remember seeing the purple Kecleon in the anime first before I knew about PMD.

I'm back from my cousin's wedding. It was fun but it took us a while to find where the reception was. We ended up passing it up at first but we got there before everything started, which was good. My mom was also a bit out of touch with the whole selfie trend, which I'm not surprised about.

Wow it's been a couple of months since I visited this thread. June and July were super busy for me, but that's alright because I got to see all of my siblings! The most recent time I had seen any of them was at Christmas, and before that at least two years ago.

When MSN died I already had a bunch of people on skype and fb (and later linked my MSN to my skype)

On facebook you can import contacts from other media, so if they happen to have the same user/email as on MSN, Facebook may be able to find them for you.

I noticed that as well, actually.
Now everyone has grown up and gotten really close, there's almost no way to just jump in and try make friends with them.
But there's probably some places still hidden somewhere xD

Yea, this a lot. The first one had a neat concept but it was the mystery and such from 2 on that's dragged me in now.

F2 is infamous for screwing with all the theories. One thing to note about 2 is that the recordings are not necessarily for you. Night one welcomes you to your summer job, but your paycheck is dated November. Unless it takes place in Australia or the later recordings aren't from the 'summer job', the scheduled birthday may have come and gone.

That's why I don't do Mansion of Gods much, unless I do that one right after reset on the first day of the month. I know how frustrating that Patrat task is, and I just didn't want to waste my time with that. Sometimes I get easily bored while looking through the shelter for stuff. I do release them after I get them and move on though so hopefully a user or two would not have to look that long.

I normally really like hot weather but it is too hot and humid here this year. I had to have a friend with A/C babysit my crested geckos because my room was getting into temps that could be fatal to the little guys

I can't remember all the explorations and all the task so I didn't know this is the patrat one. Sigh. :D Would have been a lot of faster with this if I'd known. I just don't like to peek the explorations before hand, even tho I have done them many many times it is still always nice to be "surprised" by the tasks.

I need the kamis since I want both of the forms and I have only one set.

Yeah, it's hard to make friends. I meet people online and I like talking to them but it's always hard because you don't know if you can push, you know? To ask stuff like if they want to play a game, or watch something, that kind of thing. I think Raven (?) or someone who frequents this thread was going to have IRC movie nights, if I recall correctly... And of course you need people to hang out with in real life, too. Well, some people do. I have a few friends who I really like, but my anxiety has a tendency to get in the way of me actually going out, whoops.

I'm lucky in the fact that I do like my co-workers, though! We haven't actually really gone out together or anything, but it definitely makes things easier.

I have made friends online and had good friends but unfortunately I don't speak to them anymore. I find it hard to find friends online since there isn't any sites or forums where to make friends like there used to be when I was a teen. For me it would be great to have "only" friends online, you can still talk to them and "hang out" frequently. But because there isn't any ways to meet people in here, I'd have to find them somewhere else.

I'm just gonna sneak in here and pretend I haven't been gone for a few days (and that I won't be gone for another week still...)

(In case anyone that doesn't already know was wondering where I've been: I found out about a week ago now that my grandma had died, so had to fly to Texas suddenly. The memorial is tomorrow. And then spending time with my mom and immediate family for the rest of the week. Should be back for real late Saturday night/early Sunday morning server time next week.)

Anyway, the less depressing stuff: yay, Guardians is back! I can finally finish getting the lake trio! And I needed another Kyurem so that's good. (Although I'm hoping I remember to clear a space in my party and get event Kyurem instead, but in case I don't, no big deal.)

Can't wait to see the purple kecleon when it hatches!

Also somehow my 89 IV male Riolu got rank 3 in the hunt. I was surprised it even ranked considering I didn't have time to hatch something.

Oh! And I went to hatch my eggs a little bit ago and picked up a Venusaurite...? So that might be a bug... I did double-check, and no mega plus today... (Unless I somehow missed it, but pretty sure I didn't...)

I'm here on "vacations". My uncle, aunt and little cousin are living here. They moved from Portugal to Brazil two years ago and we came to visit them.

On an happy note, just hatched another Shiny Riolu. Fist Plate forged and one more shiny for the shiny living dex. Hope I can manage to start DotW again next week since I've two plates to use now.

I always do the Kamis, most because Thundurus is one of my favorite shinies. That, and Guardians this month never appealed to me. Heck, I've only done it once, I think, and vouchered the other two. But that's me, I guess. A lifetime of Patratting is more worth it to me than a simpler set of tasks for a fairy thing.

I managed to net myself a Sh. Burmy (Steel) and another insect shard, so I'm one shard away from completing the insect plate. it also allows me to concentrate on trying to find a Solrock in the safari since they seem to be pretty nonexistent.

Guardians is pretty challenging, and usually I get lucky with the hard battle tasks, but that's just me, because I know a lot of users have a hard time with those tasks. Plus some of the clicking tasks take time. I didn't do it last time but I will later. Still a little winded after the wedding.

Then there was that one time I kept losing the Vs. Seeker tasks for the Kami Trio one *shudders*

Well, I just finished my leftover Scatterbug hunt from the SWSH earlier today. One day late...
My Bagon hunt from the SWSH from September 2013 is currently at 821 eggs. Hoping to reach 1000 eggs with this hunt, but also hoping that it doesn't last too long after that point.
Then I have my Amaura, Ralts, Gastly, Furfrou, Sableye, and Sneasel hunts, with Sableye being the highest out of these at 364 eggs.
I also have a Office Wars Bidofo hunt at 0 eggs right now. I wish there was an "Ofo-Scanner" or something to find these suckers in the daycare.
But I WILL get my shiny Bidofo one day. hopefully...

And Jirachi? Hmmm...
I kinda wanna go for that now, but I don't have a Kyurem yet... And it's on the last day, so I will most likely just resort to Jirachi if I don't get Kyurem.

I, too, would be interested in a guide. I have gotten Rank 1 3 times now, I think, but there are some elements I'm still not quite clear on. The things that rank that high are usually Mega Lucario/Megacross at 140+.

I'm probably in the minority, but I don't need a guide. xD I just follow my tried and true method, hatch until there's no doubt in your mind you have a winner. It's worked blindingly well for me :P But I can understand the need for a guide for people who aren't certain what might or might not get a win. Still, it seems like a tricky science...good luck Silver!

Kat - animals have a way of attaching themselves to my heartstrings a lot faster than people do so I always feel worse when something happens to them in movies/books/games/shows/etc.

Pokehunt discussion - I still need 1 more rank 3 and 5 rank 1s for the achievements. I'm guessing for rank one I need 160+ ivs and fully evolved or a shiny that is fully evolved and has 120+ ivs but I have no idea.

As for your soda you can stick it in the freezer or if you want to try the fan trick use the box fan in my room but don't spill it on the carpet please.

Monster's great. They have a taste for pretty much everyone. I'm not much of a fan of Original, but they've got a whole tea lineup too! Rojo Tea is my all-time favorite, followed by Ultra Black, a black cherry flavor.

Yeah, I know that. But there are quite the few that don't have time to hatch an high amount of eggs. The guide will serve that purpose, showing the parameters that the Poké Hunt uses and some guidelines to show what amount of IVs does one mon usually needs to get rank 1. I'll base the guide around the data from April forward, since that's when more people started submitting due to the introduction of the shards. Thanks!

I don't drink energy drinks, or even coffee... people think I'm crazy, lol. Caffeine doesn't actually keep me awake, so I don't bother with it. Plus some of those drinks are stupid expensive, Monster is like $3+ a can and Red Bull is even more, for a smaller one.

My friend is playing Splatoon for the first time and it seems like he's having fun! I'm glad, it's always cool when someone enjoys something that you do!

I LOVE coffee. Just, regular coffee, with cream. And hot teas of most varieties. Those I take black. Iced tea is good without sugar.

I have not played Life Is Strange. I am, however, most likely going to start a run of Chrono Trigger soon. My reasons are twofold:
1) I've never actually beaten it. I've gotten through Masa and Mune but then I didn't have time to continue my run.
2) PEOPLE ARE TROLLING THE DONATION INCENTIVE FOR NAMES IN SGDQ AND NOW ALL THE NAMES ARE WRONG. I am going to play with the right freaking names!!!

I usually drink a monster ultra (white or red) at least 3x a week. I have weaned myself off quite a bit. I uses to drink like 2-3/day in high school.

I don't generally care for teas but I do like the pink lemonade & tea Arizona Peace Tea puts out in summertime. Or... I did last time I had one. My taste buds may have changed again by now.

I also have a weakness for what are called "cool coffee creams/clouds" at a small local coffee stand chain. They are basically mocha milkshakes but with less calories because they use 1/2 ice 1/2 ice cream to make them. The clouds use white chocolate which is really yummy.

As for drinks, I have moved onto a nothing but water diet for liquids recently because I've put on some weight and I heard generally sugar weight it the culprit for your waistline. I'm always craving sugar now though so I'm not sure if I'm doing so good here... lol

I've never had a monster drink. I usually just drink milk. Unless we're out or I'm craving something else, in those cases, I usually do sodas or something.
I don't like tea. There may be a certain tea I like but never had, but out of the tea I've tried, I don't like them.
And I sorta like coffee. I don't like it a whole lot, but I've had it a few times and I don't mind it much. I can't have it very strong at all. And I have to have some flavoring stuff like vanilla or peppermint.


And dang. The first day of the monthly community just EXPLODES with posts.

I drink soft drinks. No coffee, no tea, no milk, no water, NO energy drinks. Me drinking an energy drink would be like Over the Hedge's Hammy the squirrel on caffeine. If you don't know, when he drinks anything with caffeine, he can time travel, outrace alarm laser beams as they are being turned on, as well as a whole bunch of other stuff I can't currently recall.

The main things I drink are Coke and various flavors of that, Dr Pepper and various flavors of THAT, Sunkist Orange, Mountain Dew, Cherry Lemon Sun Drop, Cheerwine, Sun Drop, RC Cola, 7-Up, Cherry 7-Up, and various ginger ales. Don't like Pepsi, anything diet, or most store brand sodas.

@ whoever was wondering about a shiny purple Kecleon: When I checked the stats page as soon as I saw your post, there was not yet a shiny of it.

But talking about energy drinks reminds me of something I often say: "Do you know how they get Buffalo Wings? They feed the buffalo Red Bull. Because "Red Bull gives you wings." And then, they can harvest the wings and not even have to kill the buffalo." Yes. I'm weird. Yes, I know it. I freely admit it.

All the ones I mentioned do. With the possible exception of the 7-Up flavors. It's not the caffeine that's bothersome. It would be the additional things included in energy drinks. I'm already energetic enough on my own.

EDIT - And the ginger ales seem to be caffeine-free as well.

Bonnie - I love peppermint mochas but I can't drink normal coffee no matter how much cream/flavor I add to it.

RicFule - be careful with the colas. Phosphoric acid is terrible for you, especially if you aren't taking in much calcium to offset it.

Ick. I dislike the taste of root beer. I refuse to even eat root beer flavored jelly beans. Whenever I get the 40-flavored Jelly Belly bags, I pull out the root beer and licorice jelly beans and toss them into the trash where, imo, they belong.

I've never been particularly fond of Monster or the other brands of energy drinks. They smell awesome to me, but it almost feels like I'm ingesting liquid pop rocks when I attempt to drink them. It also feels like it makes the corners of my jaw tingle, which is an incredibly weird feeling xD
Soda used to be my go-to until I gave it up for a year when I set my weight loss goal. That's all been finished and I can drink them again, but that tasty spark is gone, y'know? Now it's water, coffee, and a variety of hot teas.

I'm the opposite. I love ginger ale, but I can't stand root beer. My mom's bank gave out lollipops when I was a kid and I got a root beer flavored one once, and it was just so awful that I could never acquire a taste for root beer.

I drink water like, all the time, but I'm perpetually dehydrated. :C

o_o...this conversation brings to light just how out of the loop I am when it comes to energy drinks. I assumed that they were all just some variety of skittles-scent concoctions.

@Kat -- I had a similar experience, but with diet drinks. Grabbed a can of soda when I was little and expected it to be coke because that's what it said on the label >_> That's when I learned that diet sodas existed and the shock of the taste killed any chance I would have ever had of liking them. Of course now my SO loves diet drinks, so it's always fun when we go out to eat together and order unexpected beverages.

I don't think I've ever had any energy drinks. I may have tried a sip or something.

Arizona is so gross. They used to make a black and white tea that I loved, but now it's just all syrupy stuff that tastes as cheap as it costs. I'd rather make tea myself; it tastes so wonderful.

I like some soft drinks, but I drink them very rarely since they're just sugar bombs. Diet isn't an option, either. Out of those, though, I like Dr Pepper and root beer the most. Cheerwine is also good.

I was never an energy drink person. Something about the smell of it. A lot of my classmates drank them in high school. I usually drink a lot of water, but I also drink a lot of other things. I loooooooove Dr Pepper. It's basically the only soda I drink, except for the occasional Sprite.

lol, those sodas are ones that I rarely ever drink. The only time I drink Dr Pepper is if I'm thirsty and there's nothing else to drink. Sprite only if I'm sick or something.
I would drink milk when I'm sick, but it feels weird, especially if I have a sore throat or something. Which sucks, because I love milk...
Seriously, between me, my brother, and my mom (mainly me and my brother though), we go through about a gallon of milk a day. Sometimes more than that.

Yeah I usually drink milk with dinner. It's basically something I've been doing for years. As for fruit juice, I love apple juice and orange juice. I had some delicious punch at the wedding too. I remember having that kind of punch a lot of times, but I never remember what's in there. I know there's ginger ale involved.

Have anyone of you tried Shasta's brand of diet soda? Rather then making it with Aspartame (which is the ingredient that companies use to make it taste sweetish and still be 'sugar-free' but in the end gives it that really bitter aftertaste), it's mixed with sucralose, which is splenda. It's actually rather good, particular their off brands of cream soda, dr. pepper and coke, though it takes some getting used to for sure. Pure cane sugar just has that addiction factor that makes it hard to want anything that doesn't have it as a mixture.

I say this from personal experience haha. Took me forever to move from regular to diet. Even longer to move from diet to just water.

Also... I'm making a cake right now.... after I just said I was on a low sugar diet...

(okay but to be fair it was my birthday two weeks ago and I was gonna make this cake then but lazy and this will be my last big splurge and then after that I have no more high sugar foods in the house).

Oh, I looooooove cream soda! I actually had some earlier today. I really like red cream soda, too, but I haven't been able to find any recently. I remember I loved drinking it when I was younger.
I've had a drink not very long ago that seemed similar to red cream soda, but I don't know how close it is to it. I think it was called Big Red or something like that.

@Doom: I don't hate apples, but I don't really care for them. I absolutely love green apple stuff though, whether it's shampoo or candy.

I love apples. I should eat more of those. Except we get the smaller ones and I prefer to eat big ones. When it comes to fruit, I usually go for bananas because they're pretty easy to peel and eat. Sometimes the aftertaste is pretty nasty though. I remember on campus every Friday, they gave out water and bananas and I had one that was just gross. It was all dry and I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth.

Since I had to quit smoking, I've had to randomly rely on coffee to deal with sever nicotine fits/anxiety/stuff like that. Almost out though and hubby work like 12 hours a day 6 days a week AND we have no car so getting things from the store is HARD.

It's like an hour or so round trip, but I mean just the there and back not the shopping part. It's terrifying for me to do alone, and I can't carry much besides.

I had to weed eat today cause the lawn was getting shaggy and my arms were twitching hours later.

I drink water as daily basis and sometimes some juices, but that's all. :P I'm kinda easy guest to serve but everyone is always shocked when I say water is enough. "Are you sure? Hi GPXers, I'm back. I spent the whole day with my friend today, just eating and watching movies. We had crepes and kimchi fried rice, and we watched Ant-Man, Jurassic World, and Star Trek Into Darkness. (STiD was on Netflix, which we watched at her place.) We laughed a lot at the movies, but she kept taking out her phone. It was kinda distracting. We ended up discussing Captain America: Civil War and Star Trek: Beyond. Anyways, it was just overall a fun and relaxing day for me. (She baked me some brownies to take home too. )

My drug soda of choice is the original Mountain Dew. Bout the only Pepsi product I can stand tho, all Coke after that. Have yet to find an energy drink that doesn't taste terrible and teas always leave an odd taste in my mouth.

I love revisiting the older pokemon games, but at this point their internal batteries are so low they can't save my files anymore ._. I enjoy their music. Also cream soda is aweeeeeesoooooome. Especially the variety in the glass bottles. Seems like every time my SO and I decide we want some everyone else has bought it out though xD c'est la vie~

Just be careful not to drink like 5 energy drinks per day without other substenance. My sister's friend developed stomach ulcers bc he drank too many per day for i believe a few months. Too much can be a bad thing, and not just with energy drinks (even too much oxygen can be bad XD)

I got up and made breakfast this morning, I made some simple lemon strawberry muffins! They were really tasty... although they didn't really look like muffins since I didn't have the foil and stuff to put them in, but that doesn't matter. I love how I go on a cooking spree the second I have time off of work. Although I ended up getting up at 7:30... so it'll probably be time for a nap soon, lol. (I am so bad, I pretty much always nap once a day, if not twice... not sure if it's exhaustion, depression, or a combination of both... probably both. Especially because there's no reason for it, I went to bed at like 11...)

I'm not sure what I'm going to do today! I kind of want to go out, but it's also Sunday... I'm considering going to the City one of these days, but it sort of feels too late to do that today since it's almost 11 already. It's like $35 for a round-trip train ticket, so I don't want to go and only be there for a few hours, you know? I'm not sure. I want to do something interesting, but the City is also exhausting, lol.
