is there a delay in the shop when you sell things or is it immediate?

After you confirm the sale, you should get a confirmation that the item has been sold for however many points instantly. Misread.. If you meant when something appears in the shop after you sell it then yes there's a delay. Other than that, no. There is a delay. Items are randomly put into the backroom, to prevent "trading" and "gifting".
