It's a tie between Lord Loss and Slawter. Both are equally awesome books. -------------------- Software engineer by day. Hermit writer by night. nothing is impossible chasing a super hero on the run |

I'm not entirely sure that I *have* a favorite book. xD I enjoy reading many. n_n Right now I'd have to say the one I want to reread the most is Underland by Mick Farren. (: I also love all (or... most?) of the Sword of Shannarra books, by Terry Brooks. (:

I read Homer's The Odyssey several times a year, that's one of my favorites. LOL I even have some of the verses memorized.. xD
All of my modern favorites though are Vampire novels by Anne Rice. *doesn't like Twilight, if you were wondering* -------------------- |

Oh, I like many books... I can't say I have a favorite, really. I did enjoy the Twilight series, and the House of Night series, though I can't remember who wrote them... At the moment I'm reading Dragon Avenger, by E. E. Knight. I liked the first, and the second is interesting, too. I haven't found an Anne McCaffrey book I don't like yet. I am also quite fond of Poe's poetry. Pretty much any sci-fi/fantasy book I find interesting, actually, especially if dragons are involved.

Pretty Much that I love reading Master of the Game by Sidney Sheldon. Then The Outsiders came in second, since I would love to live at the 50's.

Moving this to Entertainment since it involves literature.
I really enjoyed The Inheritance Cycle. Also, I've started to get deeper into the Sword of Truth series, since I read Wizard's First Rule a while back. The Outsiders, Lord of the Flies, and Animal Farm were also great books I've read in school. The Halo series of books aren't too shabby either, I really enjoyed The Cole Protocol. -------------------- [align=center]

The Dresden Files are my favorite - as evidenced by my icon. The HP series was good but, while they're both about wizards named Harry, something about the Dresden Files just struck me more... it might have been all the humour and pop culture references, or that Harry Dresden just seemed so much more normal. He's a guy you can relate to. The writing of it is simply spectacular, and the first person style just clinches it. I'm eagerly awaiting book number 11 coming out on the 7th. Curse the long days!
By the way, the TV show - while good - was nowhere near as good as the books, just in case anyone saw the show. XD But I can't hate it, because it was what introduced me to the book series. I also like reading the Mercedes Thompson series by Patricia Briggs (Yay for Werewolves!). -------------------- |

I personally like The Thief by Meagan Whalen Turner. I've read a lot of great books, but this one just stuck with me. There's just nothing like a well-rounded character who's constantly placed in drastic situations. I think the title pretty much sums up the story.

Right now mine is the Twilight series...I didn't think I would like it because of all the young kids liking it. Well I just started reading the series like 4 days ago and I am on the 3rd book. Surprisingly it's not too bad of a teen book.
I am not one of those fans though that go around saying "I love Edward!!!!" or anything though!

I have to say, some of my favorites were by Christine Feehan, her Dark series, which is actually pretty good by storyline. Another favorite of mine is Insomnia by Stephen King and his fantastic piece, IT. Jonathan Stroud's Samarkand series rocks, however, and should be read by people who enjoyed Potter and co.
To be blunt I also love Hunt for the Skinwalker(Colm A. Kelleher, Ph.D., and George Knapp) and The Mothman Prophecies (John A Keel). I am currently digging through three or four books at a time so. x3; Also, Garth Nix's Abhorsen series. Loved them. -------------------- |

I like most books by Stephen King, especially Dreamcatcher and The Shining.
My other favorites include Vampire$ by John Steakley, Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter by Jeff Lindsay, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer by Patrick Süskind, The Deptford Mice trilogy by Robin Jarvis, Dracula by Bram Stoker, and J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. I also like Thomas Harris' books about Hannibal Lecter, I'm reading Red Dragon at the moment and it's awesome. -------------------- |

Now I'm beginning to like Ice Claw by David Gilman. I might buy The Devils Breath now since I like David's style of writing.
