A glorified chat thread for the members of PANE. This is basically for topics that don't quite deserve their own topic, but aren't really PM-important either. Also, just to goof off once in a while. Rules of the forum still apply, though. If poor grammar is used / this gets too rowdy, I'll close it.

Also, this is for stuff that pertains to PANE. Sorry, but I don't want to read about your GPX+ pokemon or how much you hate your siblings. There are other threads for those things.

So I think for my shiny pokemon, I want to have my Nincada evolve into both Shedninja and Ninjask. The Ninjask will be shiny, though, like it was covered up by regular skin but was shiny all along. Would the mods be cool with that?

Justin's other pokemon would be Octillery, but shiny Octillery is so fugly. It's really unfortunate, but I can live with shiny Ninjask. I like this topic, by the way. It lets me ask a real question in a really dumb way because it's not really a serious topic anyway. So I can ramble on and on and on and the worst you guys can do is close the topic. And if you close the topic, who really wins? Nobody. Nobody wins, least of all you. So I don't think you'll close the topic. This is me calling your bluff. Not that you can really see me, but this is the face I make when I call peoples' bluffs. Imagine it, and soak it in suckers.

I should probably go to bed or something. So yeah, Ninjask?

Is it me, or am I starting to take much longer in RPs? It's been ages since we started In the Jungle and we still haven't finished. Hopefully we're near to doing so, but it IS getting a little tiring. So just a few little questions to everyone.

A) How long has your longest RP gone on in terms of 1. Time (in the real world) and 2. Length in pages?
B) Is there a limit to how long you will make an rp?
C) Do you plan and RP out in detail beforehand or do you like to make it up as you go (providing it makes sense and that all people in the RP are happy to do so)?

@Yzarc- Shiny Ninjask is pretty swell. Nice colours indeed. If it;'s allowed I'd definitely go for it... Mind you, I'd probably choose a Shiny Taillow or a Shiny Riolu if I had the chance to, but yeah.

lol Yeah, that is true. I feel that if you have a frame on how the RP rolls, you won't be running into random events, like enemy one, then enemy two, them enemy 3 all in a row... Knowing a general idea on what will occur seems to be very useful, so you know how things will roll, and know where to stop in an Rp like this XD

I've just seen 2gamers new thread. It looks good. I just hope I finish this RP soon so I can get graded, hopefully get at least 10/15, then make my new character and join that RP on time. I'm resigned to the fact that might not happen... For a start, I may not be good enough to get 2gamers' approval to join it...

And Yes, I AM a moaner.

For the PANE achievements, do you just put them on yourself if you think you deserve/got/fit one, or does a mod tell you in RP grading/PM?

Anyway, I know what shiny I want, and thusly applied for...a Shiny Vulpix. Completely blind Vulpix, o'course...('cause that's how I roll). Anywho, I'm not worried about the Vulpix getting accepted, but the circumstances upon which it was obtained. I've got my fingers crossed, though, since the circumstances are leading to a subplot I'm developing.

Suspense. It kills.

Also, I'm glad to see that you'll get your shiny Ninjask, Yzzy. Yay.

Edit: Love the alliteration you used for your newest RP, 2gamers. Sadly, I cannot say it 5 times fast.

Editit: Also, I'm sort of contemplating opening up a PANE exclusive art shop, for trainers and their Poke'mon. Though, I'm not sure how I would do that, since I don't know whether I'd open it in the Sprites, Art, and Graphics section, or if an art (I know there's a sprite thread here, but I'm not doing sprites) could be opened somewhere in here where people could link me to their profiles and I could go from there. *shrug* Any mod advice would be welcome. I just really need to start working on people more, and what better way than to service the awesome people of PANE. *bows humbly*

Now, it's a just for fun-type thing, and thanks, mods, for allowing me to set it up. It'll really help me get some well-deserved practice in with my tablet.

Also, 2gamers, I'm supposing that the two sprites of the blind vulpix/nachtales are acceptable? If not, I'll see if Poke NOM can edit them to where they are. I know the Vulpix is a bit odd looking, but the final evolution seems neutral enough to cancel that out. Just let me know.

Are quick look at the Current Levels thread reveals that Justin Smart has the highest level pokemon in all of PANE: Hitmontop @ Lvl. 55. This beats Darryn Kellor's Lvl 50 Vulpix and Tuesday's Lvl. 50 Charmeleon.

You know, last year, DC had "Snowmageddon", wherein we got not one, not two, but THREE CONSECUTIVE blizzards. Within a week, we had over 55 inches of snow. That's nearly FIVE FEET OF SNOW!

And my workplace never closed. I still had to go to work.

BUT, the bright side was: We never once lost power. All of DC's power grids and power lines are underground, so there are never really any downed power lines or anything like that.

This year, we've had much less snow. Just lots of ice.

I have had a wonderful day with the snow and such!

Firstly, we had an epic thunderstorm this morning; it woke me up, so I actually got to enjoy it. Lots of lightning and thunder, and...and...nngh, thunderstorms are my favorite.

It has snowed...all day! Nothing sticking, but just pretty little snowflakes that I get to chase and observe when they land and stick for a moment. I don't enjoy the 20+ per hour winds...but snow! I frolicked and I enjoyed it. Looked a little like Bambi when he was first trying to walk. DON'T JUDGE ME.

And now I'm snuggling up in a cozy blanket with some warm milk and chicken and dumplings. And better yet, no homework. I am one snuggly lady.

We have a blue Snuggie and a Cardinal's baseball Snuggie. The only thing that's bad about them is the amount of freakin' static electricity they create. I've shocked myself so bad on that blue Snuggie that I saw purple lightning between my finger and the Snuggie O _o

Actually, that can happen with any blanket. Early in the winter I would touch the lightswitch and see electricity as I got zapped. I don't even have a snuggie. O.O But they do rock. I've used my grandmas.

I like to see different characters evolve through storylines, as well as observe other's writing styles and learn new things. I do the same things with profiles; I read almost every profile thoroughly. I -love- seeing the creativity in people.

I've mostly been reading Kamai's and Tymid's RPs...mostly because their characters intrigue me. I like characters with dramatic stories I especially like Tag's backstory, particularly where he rampages at the Dragon's Den. Tag and Raven's developing relationship keeps me reading.

@Everyone: For the final English names you won't have to wait all that much longer so please be patient You can use the time until then to plan out a new Unova capture? Obviously, you won't be able to make a request just yet but if you keep an eye on the announcement board, I'm sure 2g will have something to say soon :P . That said, you can discuss on this page what you think would suit your character in terms of a Gen V capture.

I'll start! I intend for Darryn to use up his shiny credit and capture a shiny Sawsbuck somewhere down the line when he reaches Fidona. Sawsbuck are kinda pretty and graceful so clearly an obvious choice for Darryn

And as for my secondary character, Lori, I was thinking she'd get a Purrloin first since they're fairly basic, fits her objective of only capturing Unova Pokemon, and they're a bit sneaky so perfect for her unpredictable battling style

To answer your previous question, I haven't been reading RPs, since all the ones I had been reading made the users leave, and I began to worry that me reading RPs I wasn't involved in was a bad luck charm :P Unfortunately for Tymid, Crazy Mansword, and Knil1, I have started reading their Uprising RP.. we'll see if the curse holds.

Jaima's team is set (he's overloyal, as my run in HG is proving), but Meiko will get one of the Gothitelle line to contrast Mercury on Jaima's team (they will despise each other).

Branwys has a (already English named) klink and will get a (probably English-named scraggy) zuruggu later on.

I planned for Twila to capture a Snivy for her last Pokemon, but they were already allowed, so that doesn't really matter x3

I hope to make a secondary character who will catch a Joltik and an Axew (if it'll be allowed, both the secondary character and the Axew).

Well, Tyson will have an Axew (already requested) and a Zorua. The latter will have a double personality which makes it turn into a rabid beast at night while it's lonely and silent during the day. It'll be named Hyde too. Flat-out obvious much?

For others I really don't know. I was thinking about a Braviary but that thing would need a buff in levels (Hitmontop style!) just to evolve. Honestly, some evolution levels this gen are just insane.

Maybe a Tepig (because Emboar is awesome) or a Crimgan (can't remember the English name).


TL;DR: I can't decide. FML.

@Tekno: I noticed that, too! Some of these levels are a bit silly but if you think about how things are when you play through a game (being able to use new things for a while before they evolve and catch them at a higher level, closer to your team's average) then I guess it makes sense...

It depends on both. If a level 10 Pokemon beats a level 20 one it'll gain a buttload of EXP while a level 100 one would only gain about the same EXP as defeating a Magikarp.

Celino doesn't have any unova pokémon, and I'm not planning on him catching any until the games release in NA/EU or later. I just want to see where he develops first.

Llewellyn is definitely catching an Audino/Tabunne, not just because it's my favourite pokémon ever now, but because he will be completely oblivious to the fact that his minccino and the audino hate each other, but he catches it anyway. His team currently is full of unova pokémans anyway.

And! Benjamin, my Uprising character, may or may not catch anything from Unova. I mean, he's getting a shiny Staryu right now, so we'll see!

Swampert (Currently Mudkip)
Luxray (Currently Shinx)
Lucario (Catching the Riolu in the next RP)
Something Psychic. I really like Elgyem, so I'll probably get the cute little alien...

He's also going to own at least:
Grovyle/Sceptile (currently Treecko)
Krokorok/Krookodile (which he'll catch in the RP after the next one.)
Espeon/Glaceon (haven't yet decided- to be caught in the next rp)

Tom Hawk, Alex's companion, will also have some nice 5th gen Pokes. His final team I have planned is:
Roserade (currently Roselia)
Raichu (currently Pikachu)
Shiny Starmie (Currently shiny Staryu)

That's exactly why I created an Uprising character. It's only 6:30 here, so we still have the Giratina movie playing. I'm at the part where the ship just entered the Reverse World.

And yes, they do, though the new classes do sound a little funky at first. I am sure Pan would ber labeled a Researcher in Training.

Man, I want to make a researcher character so badly!!!!!!!!!!!! But Phoebe doesn't fit the role. I'm not gonna rush it, but I'm gonna get my two needed grades and make one when I'm eligible. Phoebe is going to be a trainer, no doubt.

Same here. Why was the thread locked? I know I'm late to the party, but I wanted to put in my opinion about the announcements. I know someone said they were going to go over it, but how are they going to do that without full member input?

To me, it seems like the real flames aren't coming from us.

The thread was locked because the issue is currently being looked at by the mods. Also, some inflammatory things were said, and there needs to be a cooldown point.

The thread was getting out of hand. Some of you were not contributing to it, some of you were without realizing it, and I thoroughly believe that some of them were doing so on purpose, for various reasons. Either way, the thread is locked. We may re-open discussion once the rules have been modified and re-posted. You will notice, the older announcements were temporarily removed.

Please bear in mind, many of the enforcing decisions we make are not to censor or to shut people up who aren't agreeing with us, but for the sake of peace keeping. To say that is a cowardly decision is not to have faced an explosion like this as a mod.

I understand that it had gotten out of hand, but it had clearly calmed down and we were fullheartedly giving suggestions and opinions. No one was flaming during the last several posts.

How are you able to fully look over it without everyone's input? Why is it hard to allow the thread to stay open AND modify the rules at the same time?

XD Well, maybe. I mean, main reason why I was only a sub and not a permanent was because, and I quote (sorta) "You do not care about the site or are willing to fight for ideas!" Trust me, it's hard on a Yu-Gi-Oh RP forum to think of an idea that hasn't been overused as it is.

Still, I am not sure how I would be at evaluating at threads or applications, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to try ^^'

Oh god *facedesk* Not Umbrae too! YOU 4 WERE THE FREAKING BEST! Always there for advice, help, and helping understand the situation! You kept the place under control, and one minute detail about trying to open up something new, and not only did three mods get slapped in the face, causing two to drop (and I REALLY wanted to RP with Jaima again!), the entire PANE COMMUNITY was slapped because if all this!

I believe back when PANE was just getting off, Bogart was there to fill in and become the head mod.

I certainly disagree that there shouldn't be ANY head mod. There needs to be someone to veto bad ideas. It works like the American government.

I need to address something. I have been resisting writing for some time, mainly because angry reactions are not helpful to anyone.

Bogart, a long time ago, took over PANE when the rest of the mods left. Living Arrow was added to help him, and I was made the sole moderator of Uprising I asked Umbrae Calamitas to help me, and she agreed. I was asked to help with PANE, and in turn asked the others to help with Uprising. Due to a mod's prolonged absence, 2gamers was asked to join us. I may have some of the sequence of events wrong, but in the end that's how the five moderators came to be.

We've been through a lot of ups and downs, and we've had our share of arguments. But in the end, moderating for PANE was one of the most fun experiences I had. I have had great times of enjoyment with all five people, and with everyone I managed to roleplay with. I've seen people come, and people go, and I loved reading when I could.

Today that ended, and while I could complain the reasons, or I could make accusations, I won't. I will say this: Don't let this stop you from roleplaying in PANE unless you feel you absolutely must. Don't let this ruin your experience in PANE unless you simply can't let it go. And if that's the case, just take time away. Don't rage-quit, like I did.

I stand behind my decision. I do. I'm not expressing more regret, or crying over it. But I made a hasty decision, and for that I was completely wrong. Even if it worked out, I owed PANE much more deliberation than I gave it, and to you, the players, and the readers, I sincerely apologize.

Who knows? When this blows over, when time has healed or scabbed over all wounds, maybe I'll give it another go. Furoh is a wonderful place, and if I never come back, I'll always hold it special in my heart.

All right, I apologize to Bogart for the way I said that, but that does not change the way I feel. I feel that this was handled very poorly by all involved. However, people make mistakes, yes? Shouldn't they be given a second chance?

And yes, I know yelling won't help Dragonwish, but emotions sometimes get the better of all of us. I apologize again.

Anyways, watching the superbowl right now. I agree the World Cup is waaay better. I just watch the Superbowl for the funny comercials in between xD

Eh, I'm not really big on football...soccer is waaay better in my opinion. I don't understand the appeal of football. They only run around for maybe a minute, then they're back in their lines. And you can't pass the ball off if you're over some line? Lame. :/

My apartment is burning up because my landlord apparently decided to keep everyone's heaters on because of the recent winter storm that came through. So, my living room is like 90 degrees, which is why I'm hiding out in my room barely clothed with the window open and the fan blasting. I would like to go out into the living room to watch the game. I would. But I just don't think I can take it.

Also, this may seem completely out of nowhere, but does anyone have any good ideas as to make $200 in less than a month? Work is only good on payday weekends (we made a killing Saturday with the Superbowl).

I work as a volunteer bagger at a grocery store on the local Air Force base. We work solely for tips and can break $50...if we're lucky. On Saturday a lot of us got ripped off because a software update disabled the cash-back system, leaving a lot of customers with no tip money. I got lucky with sympathetic customers.

I'm a part time prostitute. The hours are flexible, my boss is really cool (though he can be a little handsy) and the pay is decent. On top of helping me pay for school, it does a really good job of supporting my crack addiction. You should look into it.

This got WAY out of hand too quickly. First, some PANE members got out of hand and them, out of the blue, Bog for rid of ALL the current PANE staff. Totally ridiculous.
Firstly, I don't personally care too much about the announcements. I would like to have Researchers with better privileges and Rangers without their powers, but that's as far as it goes.
WHY DID IT GET SO BAD SO QUICKLY?
On a slightly lighter note, I wouldn't mind being Mod. I've been here longer than a lot of people sill here (only Yzarc, 2gamers, Bogart, LSP and rt117 have accepted profiles before my joining. But... I know that's not a deciding factor), I have improved massively since I began, I'm active everyday (even if I don't post, but that's just because I don't feel the need to. I'm currently waiting for my RP to end...) and I love this place.

Activity can also be a good note. If they've been around a long while, they'll have more experience and knowledge on what they (might) be a mod of. Also, it allows mods to connect with members, which is really helpful in some situations.

Maturity, I can guess, is also likely a factor.

Last, it is up to the mod(s) deciding. If they simply don't like a member, then that can affect chances of being a mod.

I might apply for mod, but it's not likely, since I haven't been here that long.

I understand what you're saying, I guess what I was saying came off wrong. I meant it as in time and activity aren't all it takes to be a mod. All your other points were some of the things I was talking about.

I never see you, Proby... I'm sorry, but I think there are a lot better choices for the job. Responsibility also plays a large part. You say you have posts to do but you haven't done them, it shows responsibility.
