Rules

• Regular forum rules still apply here. Basically don't double post. Don't ask for clicks every time you fill your party. Unless it gets out of hand*, I'm okay with you linking to an exploration Pokemon who needs a specific berry.
  
  *out of hand meaning I don't want to see Pokémon being linked just for leveling or if they need drinks for happiness. These kinds of interactions can be handled just fine by being in your parties and signatures.
  
  
• Do not post your shinies here, there's a http://forums.gtsplus.net/index.php?showtopic=5491 for that. Discussing them is OK though! Just make sure you add content to your post.
  
  
• Make sure your post contains worthwhile content. If you're posting an exploration Pokémon to be fed berries then be sure to add other content to your post. Same with discussing shinies. Find people to reply to or start a discussion yourself! Your post must, with the shiny portion and berry feeding hypothetically removed*, not read as if you're talking to yourself. To clarify, your post should not be an out-loud thought to yourself, and should contain more general discussion than just information on your current shiny luck.
  
  *if you were to read your post, skipping over any mention of shinies, the post should still sound like a good post.
  
  If any posts are found breaking this rule then they will be instantly deleted and handed a 10% warn.
  
  
• Do not post your GPX+ gear grinders in this thread either. There's also a http://forums.gtsplus.net/index.php?showtopic=49472 for that. This is mostly for raging at staff or site events that you don't like.

Monthly Raffle

Nominations are now gone, and I'm using post count to determine how many entries you have into the raffle. The first 19 posts you have will count as one entry, and every ten after that will count as an extra. Think of it as the first number of your post count is how many entries you have. To see what your post count is, click on the number of replies any certain thread has. Nothing else on the site will influence the amount of entries you receive, so if you'd like a chance to win, then post here frequently!

The raffle is what chooses who gets to choose what's in next month's egg distribution. There are no other site advantages other than that, and even then the whole site gets a chance at that Pokémon that you chose!

How to get an egg from this event

• You must keep at least one slot open in your party.
• You MUST have logged in sometime on GPX+ in the last two weeks.
• You can not be in the restricted group.

IMPORTANT EVENT NOTES

1. No, you do NOT have to be online at the time I am sending out eggs.
2. These eggs do NOT show up in the Lab for the event. They are sent out randomly.
3. There is ONE set shiny for each Pokémon, but every other egg has a regular chance of being shiny.
4. If you obtain ONE of the eggs from this event, you will NOT be able to obtain another one from this same event. This means if you get an egg on day 1 of this event, you can't get an event egg from any other day during this event. By the way, abandoning an event egg does nothing. So if you get one you might as well keep it and be happy.
5. If we find any accounts being made just to get eggs from the event then they will be immediately banned along with your main.
6. If you were a winner of the raffle, your chosen Pokémon will be spawned into your party on the day of the event. It won't be forced shiny, but there's always a small chance just like any other egg! This will not count as an event egg and you can still receive one from the event.
7. There is no guarantee that you'll receive an egg. There have been about 3k users online daily and there are only 1,750 eggs going out, so that at least gives you a little more than a 50% chance at getting something.
8. Eggs chosen will not be available to pick from again for 3 months. If x egg was in the January egg distribution, then it can not be chosen again until April.
9. The event runs at 4 p.m. server time.

Event dates and what's being handed out

• March 2nd: Mewtwo - Winner: KatTheBard - 350 eggs
• March 3rd: Slime Slugma - Winner: Mamanator - 350 eggs
• March 4th: Reshiram - Winner: Storskarfen - 350 eggs
• March 5th: You won't want to be near this Pokémon when it reaches the end of its life span ~ Yveltal ~ 350 eggs
• March 6th: A thief in human clothes ~ Dracowymsy ~ 350 eggs

Oh man, I can't believe it is March already, this year flew by so far.

I think I'll aim for the mystery Pokemon this time, as the last time I missed Snowman Munchlax.

Finished the event with 2587 coins, so I'm pleased with my progress. Hopefully everyone enjoys their prize no matter what you get.

Happy March! New month, new thread, new explos and new swishy. :P

It is a pretty exciting month. Swishy, prize for the coin race and the monthly event. Well as for the mystery egg, my guesses are:
Mystery 1: Yveltal?
Mystery 2: Dracowymsy

I might go for Mystery 1 though. Either it's Yveltal or a new novelty.

In terms of explorations, I'd go for Deep in the Laboratory and Needing a Friend.

Also going with the trends this swishy should have popular choices as the hunting mons. Well that's what has happened since May at least. But well it can change anyday.

Happy March! Back to uni for me Struggling to get back into the uni routine again after a 3 month break :P

I'll do the Mewtwo exploration so I can get Mega Mewtwo Y for my living Pokedex. As for the raffle the "You won't want to be near this Pokémon when it reaches the end of its life span" mystery intrigues me so I might go for that. I think I know what the other mystery is, so I'd be happy with that too for my shiny hunt.

Hmmm. Those last two mystery eggs are really intriguing. I can't fathom what they can be, but I'll definitely be looking forward to finding out. Not sure which one I'll vye for, but I guess I'll have to see if I get lucky for the first one or hope for the last one. *blush*

March already. Wow. One month closer to my birthday at least. Hopefully this is the month Deibot decides to hatch shiny. Been almost a year since I've been hunting this thing.
I can also now continue on my hunts now that this coin business is over. Can't wait for the prizes.
Maybe I'll do an explo this month, not sure. School has been pretty hectic and I haven't had time.

Yay my birthday's in one week!

The site's turned into a lag fest now, but I'm doing Jirachi and maybe also Darkrai. I didn't realize I had done the first one in nearly a year and a half. I'm also now trying to decide which of the distribution Pokemon I want. I'm also hoping to finally finish my Spheal and Koffing hunts.

I hope the lag has ended. It was pretty troublesome. Well, I started Needing a Friend. I already have a Jirachi but this is for the achievement (and hopes of a shiny). Also, I cleared my Shine Recorder. All unnecessary white red and pink hunts are off, leaving just the ones I really want at the moment. That makes half of my recorder full at the moment.

So, tomorrow is my birthday. Or today, depending on where you live. Turning 20, and I can't believe how fast time has gone. Feels like I was 14 on this site for the first time only a couple days ago.

As for the coins, I only got 763. I blame midterms for slowing me down. I also blame everyone who took all of the cleffa eggs. Almost felt like the species went extinct.

I ended up getting 2587 coins for the whole month. I would have liked to get at least 3000 but between work and everything else I didn't make it. I'm still pleased with what I got though, I really didn't think I'd get the coins I had.

I was going to attempt to stop at 1,025, but I had a couple of extra ones in my Party. So, I just decided to not stop at a specific amount and just hatch until reset. {Or until reset was so near, it would do no good to pick up any additional ones.}

Anyway, I ended up with 3,291, so I didn't manage to eke out 300 like I said I would, but that's fine. It looks as if the site's kind of making up for the lag for me at least as I found one of the evolved Pokemon for one of the Jirachi tasks.

To avoid posting again so soon, I hatched 13 shinies, including four hunted Pokemon, three Magikarp and a Slugma I got on the last day.

I only ended up with 420 coins--I didn't have much time to be on this month, but I hope I can be more active in March and other months! (420 coins still qualified me for 441st place, somehow.)

Spotlight won Best Picture! I think it deserved it more than anything else, though I thought The Revenant would win because it was predicted to win. (I really wanted to make the Treeonardo DiCaprioak in The Trevenant joke, but it's a little esoteric.)

How many shinies did y'all get in February from the multicolored eggs? I got 6--a Zangoose, a Cleffa, a Darumaka, a Luvdisc, and two Magikarp--and all of the Water-types gave me my first plate: the Splash Plate! I don't have enough time to work on DoTW, though.

EDIT--Forgot to mention this. Does anybody know songs with parenthetical remarks in the title? I have some down, like Exit Music (For a Film) by Radiohead and Snow ((Hey Oh)) by Red Hot Chili Peppers, but any others would be greatly appreciated. It's for trivia tonight. There's a round on it.

I won't lie - I'm a touch disappointed that all I got was a Legend Voucher Plus. But at least it's SOMETHING. But with scratch cards maxing out at 900 points, the rest of the points I got were kind of a waste.

But I am going to cuddle the crap out of this new Landorus anyway.

I was hoping to get a duplicate Shears after I got my first one, but no go. Will they cycle through the Prize Shop now?

Huh. THAT was easy. I used the Enigma Stone I found on my Scratch Card, and three or four Lab refreshes later, I was able to find my Lugia. I was expecting it to take most of the ten minute grace period. If not longer.

I was 34 coins away from the shiny voucher so I'm pretty disappointed. I guess I can't really complain, but I could have hatched 34 more eligible pokes if I knew what the goal was. /shrug I still have most of the items I got from the last event, so I think I'll just let my stash continue. I'm hoping that the credits people get from scratch cards helps boost the pluses for the next few days.

Edit; Got DNA Splicers off of one of my cards, not sure what it is for though. Its under special evolution items. Ah, it's a Kyrume/Zekrom thing.

Hey, so I just summoned a Rayquaza, and when it showed up in the Lab, the wording was italicized. Since when is this a thing? Not that I'm complaining!

Also I got two Shears and thought they were old items, then read this board and was like "oh, they're new". So apparently I'm really bad at recognizing new things.

I ended up with 972 coins. While I don't care much for just regular legendaries, I went ahead and used my Legendary Voucher on a Lugia to add to my Lugia box.

I got five shinies from the coin stuff, but some of them didn't even count. xD Shellos, Nincada (both not counting), Slowpoke, Magby, and Mankey.

As for your trivia question, the only song that immediately came to mind was You'll Rebel to Anything (As Long As It's Not Challenging) by Mindless Self Indulgence.

Argh. I wish I got Shears in my Scratch Cards (after all, I did make the novelty), but I didn't. DNA Splicers would have been cool, too.

Well what a waste of a month that was! Honestly, I spent so much time and I'm still in the middle tier with 3300 coins. I could have just skipped the entire thing and maybe gotten something else done on the site. If it's ranking-based, tell us! Why are the coin event rewards so arbitrary?

I think the text for Rayquaza changed when the new Ray novelty came out...I'm not sure why exactly it happened. I think I got a better hull this time, managed to get a slowpoke tail and a summoning item. Plus some various other stuff that is of varying use. I might use some of these items to hopefully get another shiny novelty, but I've never really looked into the nonbreedable ones.

Awww, the poor Mareep looks so sad without all the fluffy wool. With my Shiny Voucher, I knew exactly what I wanted to use it on, and I wasn't disappointed. Actually I didn't know what to use it on before the novelty was added, and it looks as if I have to add another Scatterbug I have to shiny hunt.

The rewards are based on the number of coins that people obtained. We just reward those who put in a lot of effort, and one should probably assume that more coins = better prizes. You didn't have to participate at all, you know.

Plus, a few people were very vocal about how many coins they obtained, so it was rather easy to go off of that, too, when collecting coins.

Ah well. Can't please 'em all.

Ah the sheared Mareep looks so sad. I really need one now. Somehow.

Anyways, 717 is my lucky number and I got some scratch offs and such. Got some great stuff (Plus a Light stone! ) and amazed that everything went well. Well, shears didn't come with my cards sadly. I'm hoping that I'll run into them someday.

Usually I tend to not care which event pokemon I'll get, but I would love to try my luck at getting a shiny dracowymsy. If I remember should be the key thing though.

Of course it was going to be ranking-based! This event, as opposed to the Hanukkah Event, had drastically MORE opportunities to get coins, therefore the average user would get a lot more coins in this event than in the Hanukkah Event. You can't expect the admins to give out 200 Shiny Legend Vouchers! The point was to reward the ones who worked the hardest with something that is extremely rare.

And why are you even complaining? You got the middle tier! That's better than getting just a regular Legendary, or nothing at all. I got the lowest tier, but I'm happy to have gotten SOMETHING. After all, I work full-time and wasn't able to spend nearly as much time on the site as I would have liked to. Being rewarded with even a little Legendary makes me feel good.

Meh, I feel like an awful person now. I summoned a Tina that I got from scratchcards, and on my second refresh I saw a Ray and impulsed grabbed it, then after it went to my party, the next page had another Ray and I impulse grabbed that too. I'm going to corrupt them and abandon them if they aren't shiny, but I still feel kinda bad about sniping them in the first place, especially two. How do you guys feel about taking legendaries you didn't summon?

Not as bad as I should. I'm pretty quick to yoink them out of the Lab even if they're not mine. I also don't get too terribly disappointed if I lose one - unless I lose a Rayquaza, which is my dream shiny.

@Raven -- I'm actually two away too. I had three hunts open for my final shards (Rock/Ice/Electric) but I accidentally hatched a shiny Bonsly and shiny Tynamo (sp?) yesterday. I'm two shards away from my goal now, but I had to start up a hunt for an electric shiny I'm not very fond of. I have no clue what I will hunt once I have all my shards though, so that should be fun when I get there.

@Sofia -- Yeah, I think people are summoning them a lot now, maybe people who got the items from scratchcards? I'm not really a fan of losing them because the only shiny Legendary I have is a heatran that I didn't even summon. I know the chances of summoning a shiny are rare, but that is the same reason I don't release eggs, you never know.

I was going to ask who made the Sheared Mareep...it's so adorable! Can't wait to see what the Woolly Ampharos looks like! -huge Mareep fan- I managed to get 3 sets of Shears from the scratch cards which is nice, all three sheep for my living dex straight away. This also gives me an excuse to shiny hunt Mareep again, once I finish off all my red/pink/white hunts

Now I'm on the lookout for DNA Splicers and a Love Flag ^^

Yeah, when I know there's an influx of summon items, I tend to stalk the Lab and steal any missed Legendaries because I'm a HORRIBLE PERSON.

But right now I have three Legendary/Novelties and so they won't even show up in the Lab for me.

The December event sounded like there coin thresholds, not "the first xx users". Of course, both times the prize tiers were determined after the fact - which is really the main thing I find unfair. If we knew up front that the top say, 10 people would get a voucher, we could be realistic about what effort we want to put in for the prizes.

You're disappointed in your prize also, is it that hard to imagine I'm disappointed in mine? I agree with a lot of the ways the site is run, but I AM going to complain when I genuinely find something is handled badly.

Oh I used to feel awful, not anymore now. I have myself failed a lot of summons so when I get some other's fail summon, I feel it becomes even now. And well the lab was flooded with fail summon, I myself sniped a Giratina and Dialga today.

I stopped at 2400 coins. Beautiful since 24 is my favorite number. Which means that I obtained a shiny voucher but I'm not sure what to do with it yet. On one hand I want to spell out my name with shiny unowns, but on the other hand I could just get a shiny pidgey egg and smear a twinkie on it. Probably just going to hold on to it for now!

I wonder what all the newborn shiny legends will be!

So I snagged two legendary eggs from the lab (and don't forget the limit's two per day, people, if you stole two already you won't find more) and a shiny mega Absol from the Safari (which I already had and forgot about).

I'm... kinda disappointed that I got only a Shiny Voucher. I thought 2,500 coins could maybe do it, but anyway I couldn't have made 3,900 (I didn't take Magikarps, Cleffa and Igglybuff because I already have all their families in shiny so yeah, out of the question).
Got myself a Ditto with my Voucher and next time I'll know I'll have to be in the top 10.

I ended up with 2,271 Coins, which places me in #42 for most coins. Last time, I redeemed a Shiny Gible and turned it into an Ekralyp. Maybe I will do Rhyhorn for a Shiny Pinkan Ryhorn.\

On Cajun's drop, I grabbed a Shiny Frost Cherrim, named him after the user.

I honestly can't believe that only the top 12 got the first price, thought I was safe for it just having made sure to keep myself in the top 20 but apparently that was incorrect.

I really hope we can have actual set amounts for the prices next time 'cause this just left me thinking that no matter how hard I try it's not gonna be enough, so why bother trying when/if the coin event comes back next time.

Yea, had 5 specific summons and turned in all my Prize Points for 48 Enigmas. Been pretty nonexistant here and figured might as well make it official and get this stuff into the hands that want it.

And it took over an hour but they have all been claimed. All the stuff in the backroom was gone in an instant, but there's still a few cool things floating through the Shelter~

We look at how many people got however many coins and go from there, yes. If we said that the top 10 get the top prize, then there'd still be plenty of people collecting coins. The thing is, we wouldn't say how many coins might make you end up in the top 10, so it'd still be a mystery.

In any case, one big reason that prizes are determined after the fact is that things like Shiny Vouchers still need to remain a pretty rare commodity.

I'm seriously hoping that people aren't expecting us to give out 200 Shiny Legendary Vouchers or something.



And I reiterate my final point. Why would more than ~10 people get Shiny Legendary Vouchers?

I mean there were almost 4000 people technically partaking in the event, top 12 seems extremely harsh to me. You could've made it top 50 or so and still have kept the shiny legend voucher be a rare prize.

This limited a top tier doesn't feel like something to work hard for, it honestly just feels hopeless.

I guess it's pointless to discuss it but I'm just feeling extremely disappointed right now. I'm just very much hoping that if this sort of event runs again, the price tiers will be a bit more lenient.

I understand some of you are upset. This is not the thread for this.

Secondly, I want everyone to keep in mind: The Staff does not have to give out the prizes they do. The fact that they are is incredibly kind of them; complaining about it will make them consider not to run future events like this or cut out those 'top tier' prizes altogether.

So, if you didn't get what you wanted this time? My advice: Take the loss humbly and vow to do better next time rather then make a point to never allow yourself to give it a shot ever again.

I give a ton of respect to staff for taking the time to run the site at all, let alone do events. But that doesn't mean people should only ever be allowed to sing their praises. If something on the site is frustrating to a lot of people, staff should know! It's their choice if they want to change or repeat these sorts of events and I'll respect whatever choice they make.

To all the people dissatisfied with the prizes,

I understand your feelings. Coming so close and not winning anything is dissatisfying but then again it's part and parcel of the game. Someone will win, someone will lose. For the suggestion of #50 getting the shiny LVP, then you'll have a whole lot of people in the range #50-60 who'll complain about how unfair it was to them, the staff should think about them also etc. etc. This is life, get with it. The only way to solve this is to give everyone Shiny LVP and that will totally break the spirit of the game. There will be no fun, no competition, nothing. Just enjoy what you received - your voucher, your shinies, your experience, the fun you had during this time etc.

P.S.: I am armored up for all the hate comments. Bring it on!

I did hatch a lot of coins anticipating for a Shiny LVP, but I was still happy when I got an ordinary Shiny Voucher. It may seem a bit disappointing that some of us didn't get the grand prize, but hey, at least some of us got Shiny or Legendary Vouchers and scratch cards. So better something than nothing, right?

While I am on that topic, for those of you that got a Shiny Voucher of some sort, what Pokemon did you redeem it for (or plan on redeeming)?

I decided on getting a Shiny Rhyhorn so I can get a Shiny Pinkan Rhyhorn. Last time, I did the same for Gible and made that an Ekralyp.

YesyesYES I got the Shiny Voucher . I can finally end my shiny Ditto hunt that I started on September 28, 2012! While I didn't get the voucher for a shiny Yveltal, this voucher just made my day. Thanks guys for such a wonderful prize .

So, 6 pages later...

I'm happy that I won a SLV, although I'm not sure what I'll use it on. The threshold was a little lower than I thought it would be (4000/4500; I ended up with 4880), so I'm happy that more people got it.

That being said, karma is a bitch and I didn't get any DNA Splicers or Shears (or new trinkets from the chests that I opened a couple of minutes ago, including a shiny pokéchest) from the Scratch Cards. And I didn't won the raffle again (I've the highest chance of winning every month, quit screwing with me RNG ). Oh well, gotta lose some to win some. At least Mewtwo's exploration is available, so I can start working on my living dex.

I'm bummed that I can't shear any old Mareep. I hatched a spare shiny years ago for the achievement. I also didn't get the Snowball I was hoping for. On the plus side I found a Corruption Orb and two Shiny Pokéchests!

I can't decide which giveaway Pokémon to try for. I would be happy with all of them!

I'm not sure why the discussion is centering around the Shiny LVP, when my first impulse was to wonder why there wasn't a tier for Shiny Novelty Vouchers. That could have done a lot to bridge the gap between prizes, without devaluating the top tier prize.

As it is, the gap does feel huge. I was free for most of the month and made a bit over 2000 coins. Getting anywhere near the top tier would require gpx to be a full time job for me, all day every day.

While I agree that it's ultimately my choice to spend my time on the site, I do believe that staff should know about it, when it starts feeling more like a repetetive waste of that time rather than the fun game it's supposed to be.

I'm not saying staff is obligated to change things to keep people invested in the game, but we should be able to speak openly (even outside the designated 'complaining areas'), so they can make informed choices.

No shears for me in the scratchies unfortunately, I hope they will appear in the prize shop soon.
I think my final my final coin total was 1,500 and something so I got a Legend Voucher Plus
Think i'm gonna hold off on using it for now, see if I can save it for something special <3

Alright, I'll make one last post on the matter and my views on the SLV being so limited.

I suppose giving it to the top 50 might've been a bit high, though maybe not. I honestly haven't gone over the number of what owuld be considered active participants. But surely top 20-25 would've been reasonable at least?

Perhaps I did overestimate number of active participants, but I also feel like the highest price tier is an overestimation of just how much free time some of us have to possibly dedicate to the hunt. Many of us have full time jobs or school/college courses (or both) that simply doesn't allow for the time needed to reach ~4000 coins in a month (and if it did you'd just be raising the amount needed anyway, because tiers).

There's a fine line between encouraging to work harder next time and discouraging them from wasting their time trying, and I personally feel like this falls on the latter side.

But what's decided is decided, I can't change it (much as I'd like to) and there's little I can do about it.

I would however like to make a suggestion for the next time you decide to make this kind of event, and I hope it will at least be briefly considered instead of instantly dismissed as baseless whining.

That this event had tiers was, I suppose, kind of inevitable. As you said you had no idea how many people could be expected to manage how many coins. But now that you've run this system once you do have that data to work with. So next time, perhaps you would at least consider using set and announced numbers for the tiers? At least then people will know what is needed to accomplish something and they can settle into a prize tier that they feel they can manage without having false hope.

I mean, even if you were to announce that people need 4000 coins to reach the highest prize tier, I don't think you'd get an unreasonable number of winners. It's still a very difficult amount to accomplish. But at least then people would know that.
It would be less competition and more of an opportunity to work towards a goal.

I know a month of red, white and pink hatching nearly killed me and that coin events shouldn't last that long. Half of the month is fine.

Now that it's over I have some Exploration goals. Also the Pikachu are going to be in my Shiny hunt to make finding Cosplay pikachu more productive.

If anyone cares about it, I'll be releasing an extra shiny Ralts (male) with terrible IVs I got from the coin event at 9:30 server time, since I have no wish to go for a shiny living dex at the moment.

In another news, I ordered a new smartphone for me. In fact, my first ever smartphone, which I might receive in a week. And though, I am really excited about it, I feel a little bad to part with my old Nokia handset which was my companion for 6 years.

Last time (looking only at the top tier) something like 8 people got Shiny Legend Vouchers. This time, 12 people got them. If we assume that this isn't going to be increased further in future coin events, then for the future it's much more useful to look at ranking, rather than numbers. Instead of aiming for a number of coins, say 3500, aim for a rank, say to be in the top 10. If you look at the event this way you get a much more concrete target to aim for and so long as you keep up with the top ranks you can be reasonably sure you'll be rewarded.
But if more people come to this conclusion, the event could get unnecessarily competitive, as users are competing for a limited number of spots, and always have to out-do each other. At the least, it could sure get exhausting.

I don't think saying things like 'can't please everyone' is very helpful. It's not like people with a couple hundred coins are angry about the tiering. There are valid points to be made (and they have been made) about the way the prizes were done and how people react to that... although you do walk a fine line beside sounding ungrateful, which I don't think any of us truly are.

What a fun event that was in February. Thank you, GPX! And no, I'm not being sarcastic. If you entered the Coin Event for anything other than fun then, well, bah humbug right back at ya. This is all supposed to be fun and if you fell short of the top 12 for that top shelf prize then... well... oh well. If you didn't have fun with the event then you were doing something wrong, in my opinion.

I mean, who on GPX wouldn't want a SLV? *looks around* Yeah, that's what I thought. I didn't see any hands going up. I'd also like an Arceus (other than from the exploration) and a pair of Sheers I hear can change Mareep. But... I settle for the Arceus through the exploration that should be tough to open and even tougher to complete. I don't have a pair of sheers to shave a sheepy sheep either. But what I did get was:

And I am super happy with that haul indeed. I especially love how many birdies I'll get to fatten up and a few other novelty enhancers. Additionally, I am grateful for the Poke Hunt assists with those vitamins and such. About the only thing I could have passed on was the Pokechests, but just because I don't really follow the trinkets I'm not about to cause a riot because one scratch card had like 4 Pokechests. At least it had something instead of nothing?

I know we can't please everybody all the time but look at it this way. If this was a real contest, then only the top 3 winners would have gotten that infamous SLV. At least GPX considered our hard work and allowed such awesome prizes to go to so many. So yeah, I say thank you to them because not only was that month a lot of fun (for me, at least), but I appreciate the prize breakdown.

I guess something like a Shiny Novelty Voucher would be a cool prize to fill the gap (although it's easier to get a hold of novelty eggs, thus being "easier" to hatch a shiny novelty instead of a shiny legendary). But yeah, people should definitely look at the ranking next time. It's not like it's going to become more competitive than this time.

I said it in the other community thread and I'll say it again. Nobody asked anybody to run an event like this, and for people to willingly take part and then (hopefully not) whinge because they didn't get the prize they 'expected' to get, because they get x number of coins just comes off as a tad rude (to me, anyway). Don't get me wrong, I understand the annoyance, but why should you expect to get something as rare as being given a free shiny legendary of your own choice.

The event was handled fine. Shinies aren't mean to be tossed about willy nilly, especially Shiny Legendaries. especially 200 of them rofl (don't take this part too seriously, it's just MY personal views on the matter)

Let's also take into consideration something else. It's been roughly a year since there's been a change-up in terms of the site. The site was practically dead and it's had a new lease of life. Bi-Monthly events aside, this is one of a very small handful of events tossed in our favour, and I'm pretty sure this has been the first full-length event we've ever actually had (memory serving).

Like above, nobody asked the staff to do something like this. The site itself could have been given up on, but no it's been given a new chance of things. New admins, new explorations, novelties and everything else. We've had rules change over the year and actually allowed something like this Community Thread, which has been nice. It's been nice to get to know all you guys a bit better instead of having to do it through non-relevant threads/posts. Hell we've even been given a way to get the God Pokémon. A reliable way to obtain it and all of the forms. We've been promised other stuff like Achievements. Yes we've yet to hear anything about those, but all in due time. It's been mentioned about Pokémon Sun and Moon in the Monthly Thread, so there's every hope we'll have a brand new generation of Pokémon added to the site at some point also.

The fact is, I can understand people are annoyed but it's coming off as ungrateful. People are getting so caught up in something small like this, they fail to realise we may not have really had much of an active site or anything like this in the first place. So let's just accept this as a lesson, we've had a couple of events like this now so we all roughly know what to aim for in terms of a prize.

Let's all be grateful for the bigger picture opposed to something small such as a full month event like what we've just had, and hope towards possible future site events.

But I hope we don't get another month one anytime soon because it was tiresome lol

Well, I support this and also there's a scope for another voucher: Shiny Summonable LVP. Well, shiny summonable and non-summonables have different aura around them because of the ease of getting summonables. While the other one stays as a regular shiny LVP where you can get summonables if you want.

Something like 900+ a shiny voucher, 2000+ a novelty voucher, 3000+ a SLV voucher for summonable, 4000+ a SLV for non-summonable.

In that way we've got a graduation of huge prizes haha maybe next time I hope there will be one!! As Mamanator said, who doesn't want a shiny legy haha ^^

This has all gotten out of hand. I think there was a good reason as to why the mods didn't announce which ones will get the SLVs in the first place. Plus it's not like they were going to give away that many anyway because that would ruin the rarity of it all. There are others on here who sum up what I feel about this better than I do but I didn't expect this to kind of blow up like it did. I for one am glad with what I got, even though yes, the SLV would have been wonderful for me to get, there's always going to be other shots at it.

I think that that would belittle the magic of getting a shiny legendary. Obviously it would depend on thresholds, but it would be too much of an increase (8-12 people is already a significative number).

It's not for free when you've to invest a lot of time during a whole month to get the amount of coins needed. Just because the staff granted us with this sort of event doesn't mean we can't complain if we find something wrong with it. I can see why people are complaining and why people are happy with what they got and I think it's good for people to complain because they've that right. Constructive criticism is always good and I don't see why we shouldn't discuss this. Yes, there will always be people unhappy with what they got, but if we can decrease that number, I'm all up for it.

Still stuck on the berry feeding task for the Mew exploration. I'm hoping that I'll finish that one soon, I think this is going to be my slowest run yet. Berry feeding tasks are the worst, at least battles I'll eventually get passed it.

DNA Splicers are used to de-evolve Black/White Kyurem and Megas, not Mareep.

Just tell me the one member was teasing and that, after you use the shears on a Mareep, its hair doesn't really grow back making the shears null and void and (I suppose) the novelty version would return to the original form? They were kidding when they said that. Right? ... ... ...

No Mamanator I don't think the "fur" goes back... But you have to hatch the egg and the use the shears, it's not a corruptable egg like pidgey. Maybe it's that.
The reminds me I still need a shiny amonmola to call it Mamanator.

You and I have similar hopes though I'm hoping to run into a pair of shears (will take a slightly worn out, used pair) so I can see what becomes of this sheep once it's "trimmed". I haven't come across any in clicking and my trolling in the backyard (Safari and Day Care) is about as fruitful as the fruit trees in my actual backyard. Which, to say, is nill to none. *snicker*

My problem with the UG is remembering it exists. The last Pokemon exited empty handed, but that one was "lost" down there for days due to the BIL and SIL in town since last Friday. I have to put another one down there. Lemme see... do I have that flag? ... ... Yuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no.

I realized I didn't have a Black Kyurem yet so I used my legend voucher on a Zekrom and got lucky with a Dark Stone from the scratch cards. Then I realized I don't have a spare Kyurem and I really don't want to use DNA Splicers on my White Kyurem. Hooray me!

I'm really hoping the scratch cards come back again, I love getting such useful stuff. Though I really didn't need more saltwater buckets... xD

Sent my shiny Groudon to the Underground and got the Love Flag, so at least that is done. My shiny Ditto was the one I put it first but he didn't get anything, the bugger xD.

Mew exploration is completed. It took ages for the Kabuto berry feeding task to finish, it took over 12 hours. The whole exploration took me 16 hours and 14 minutes. Pretty sure that is my worst time for that particular exploration, too bad I don't have the old records anymore. Not sure if I'm going to start my other exploration today, think I'll wait until the weekend. Thankfully I am off work the weekend so I'll have plenty of time.

I'm actually really happy, I managed to hatch a 155 IV Larvitar first thing today and didn't even think twice about it since I'm so tired of them, then I realized I could get points from the Poke Hunt so it's now in my entry position. Too bad the nature wasn't good, or it could have replaced the Mega Tyranitar I just mega'd for the Battle Tower. I also found a nice Mudkip to Mega Swampert so yay, Battle Tower progress!

Shuffle news: got Charizardite X (top 11000) and I'm enjoying this week's update. I was only missing Kabutops and that was done after I used Attack Power + Great Ball. And I'm not participating in Darkrai's escalation battle (the hearts and Mega Speedups are awarded after stage 50, which says alot), so I got all week to reach 99k and make some progress.

It's literally supposed to be a ghost-type-themed gym to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pokemon. The fight with Bowser is a bit long, but it was the only thing I could think of for a gym battle.

I checked out, DNA Splicers are special evo items, so there won't be available in Prize Shop anytime (since it has only Rare evo items). The only Rare evo item available in Prize Shop is Dreident during Prize+. Since these are not official prizes on any event, I doubt they will be available in Prize Shop during Prize+. My hopes for Shears and Splicers.

Well, I got a 132 IV Larvitar for the pokehunt. A good placeholder at least, unless I get a real good one. Or well, I have the opportunity to spend the vitamins I got from the Scratchies.

Underground wise, I have been an idiot to teach my pokemons the map of the underground place. They don't know how to get lost in the woods. That's why they say ignorance is bliss. So far, two mons returning empty-handed (though one had no hands )

March already. As they say, time flies. So, I ended up being one of the 12 people who received a Sh. Legendary Voucher and I used it on a Celebi 'cause I love its shiny, it's so pink and lovely <3. The scratch cards gave me a lot of pokechests and more Dark and Light stones as if I needed more of those but yep, no shears or dna splicers, oh what a luck

On another note, my Shuffle glitched and instead of a Charizardite X it gave me an Attack power, so I ended up receiving 2 of those and not the stone like I should.

Plus I'm sick. What a fine day

Well I forgot that the Celebi wifi event started, so guess I'll boot up my Pokemon games. I have a few games I can use too, so I'll have a few onion fairies. I won't be able to grab any though, I still have the Hoopa event to get in a few of them. I'm picky with their IVs/Natures so it is taking a while. I won't settle for anything less than 5 flawless IVs because I'm weird like that XD.

Ugh, it is that time of year again, tax season *shudders*. I have an appointment tomorrow morning at 11, I just hope I don't have to pay back. I'm hoping it won't take long though, I have to work tomorrow at 12. Dad screwed up my schedule and said I was off until 3. I can't change it my appointment either, I was lucky that they even fit me in, it is that busy there.

And I'm ticked. I was ranked in Shuffle's last Mega Stone event with like mid 16,000 two hours before it ended, and was planning to go back later to make sure I was still placed. I forgot and ended up like 600 or 900 points out of the stone ranking. Grr. Hiss.

And then tonight, it seems that I lost my 3DS stylus somewhere. I had it when I went to work, but by the time I got home, it was nowhere to be found. And I made 2 stops before I got home. I looked in the car, but wasn't able to spot it, so I guess it fell out at one of those stops.

Well, I'd really love to have splicers for dex entry of shiny Megas which I don't like (looks at Metagross). Meg-evolve it, dex it and then back to the beautiful shiny mon you wanted.

Meanwhile, I got a 180 IVd Plusle. I thought my Marowak (179 IV) will be the limit, but no, I got another big guy out here. I wonder how can I utilise it.

I Just Finished the Jirachi Special Exploration, and I had a lot of fun with it!

Problem is now I'm Not Really sure which one I Should Go On Next? Because I Want to go on one of the More Difficult ones just to get it Out Of The Way, but at the same time, am I Really Devoted To Doing It.

Not Very related to finishing the Jiriachi quest though: I got a Shiny Cacturn in the Safari Zone today, so That made my day!

Do Mystery Creature of the Ruins whenever you have a chance (until you have all the egg dex entries for Unown). It's best to get that done and out of the way (I've done it maybe around 20 times now). Otherwise, I'd suggest going for Punishing a Poacher (if you haven't done it), or the Great Rescue (sweet honey is very helpful).

I would just like to send a big thank you and congratulations to the administrators and moderators that have kept this ship sailing smoothly for such a long period of time. Though I haven't necessarily been "active", I've observed the transformation of the site over the years and have been thoroughly impressed from not only a logistical perspective, but a programming one as well.

I released all 954 of my Pokémon today. I had a live dex minus a few legendaries, a majority of the novelties, and perhaps 22 or 23 shinies.

I wish the DNA Splicer worked on all pokemon. I evolved a shiny pikachu with a cosplay giftbox because I thought the form change would be reversible. My fault, I know, but I still hope for some way to change her back.

Not sure I have a mega I want to devolve. Maybe gardevoir, her evolved form is kinda creepy. The white spikey earpiece always looks to me like her head is actually facing the other way, and she has a long pointy nose and a creepy Joker-like grin.

Holy guacamole. First day of training as a waitress and I mostly bartended. I've only been 21 for a few months, and have had a handful of drinks in my life, most of which were Sangria, and all of which required no mixing. I have no idea what alcohols make what drinks, or even what the alcohols are. It was QUITE challenging, and all of my drinks went out to customers.

I REALLY hope that most of them were good, but I'm not too sure. I definitely made some mistakes. Now I'm writing notes of what I remember makes what drink. I really hope that I can work out a system for getting the correct "recipes" down on paper. This job is something that I need to write down and reflect on and digest in my downtime, because it's a whole new language. Actually doing the actions doesn't help me because all of the alcohols are nameless in my head.

I noticed that I remembered the mixes I have words for (beer, shrimp, house tequila), but not the ones I don't, regardless of how many times I made the drinks. What a way to learn how your brain works. I just hope I can improve. I don't want to disappoint any reasonable customer with drink mistakes, and I feel like I'm bringing the entire waitstaff's paycheck down with any mistakes because the patrons will tip less. And I really want to be good in the eyes of the owners. I got this job through a mutual friend, so I really don't want to be a useless person. I want to prove that I am okay and can learn these drinks and not make mistakes.

Luckily, the other servers are really nice and were patient tonight about telling me the recipes. At the end of the night, the owner said I did a good job. I should take his word for it. Either way, I wanna do better. Hopefully tomorrow night will be easier. The special is wines, and that shouldn't require mixing, to my knowledge, whereas tonight it was margaritas, and there are like 6 different ways we make them.

Whatever I'll say has no working experience involved and is only from a customer's point of view.

Well, I've seen many waiters/waitresses who are new to job, but honestly, I don't get annoyed when they are doing some mistake. I mean, everyone needs an opportunity to learn, no one knows everything on day 1. So I am sure, there were a few customers who weren't annoyed at all, so don't worry. And about the rest few, yeah, there will be some people in life who's only job is to find faults. Even in my school life, I've seen so. "You got 100/100 in Maths? But well, you should have at least got a better handwriting" and sort. They are simple critics who can't do anything else (the guy in the example himself got 60 or so).

As you go on, you will get familiarized with everything and it will be a breeze through. Especially, since you look like you're working real hard to get familiarized. Hard work will surely get you good result.

And the best part, your fellow co-workers and owners are happy with you. Because everyone had their first day someday and hence they know how hard it is/how everyone does it. They know better than me, you or anyone else. Additionally, try being really good friends with someone there who'd help you out. Someone who'll appreciate you in your good days and encourage you in bad days. That's most important.

Needs rawst berries if anyone wants to help. I just notice, so I fid that I'm two unown away from three separate achievements, so I figured I'd start this exploration.

Do any of you have suggestions/preferences for the SWSH this month? I'm two shards away from getting all of the plates and I already have hunts setup for them, so I'll not really sure what Pokemon to pick. I'd probably say oddish/clamperl and maybe a third. I'm not really a fan of hoarding duplicate shinies, so branched evolutionary lines are pretty cool.

Ouch. :/ It was most likely because it was the first time that Charizardite X was being distributed (if I'm not mistaken). I went on an item run in the middle of the week, got placed on top 8000 and when I checked back on Monday (two or three hours before the competition ended) I was on top 11000.

See it like this, next time that that competition repeats, you'll have no problem getting it.



The good thing about having finished DotW is that now I've no problem with that's choosen (unless it's something that I already have). That being said, I hope we can vote this month.

If we are allowed to vote, I'd choose Rotom/Treecko unless I hatch a shiny electric (aka Plusle at the moment), which may divert me to some shard which I have 4 of, like Draco or Mind. For the third spot, I'm not sure, but probably something I don't have a single shard of yet (namely Dread, Toxic, Fist, Icicle and Sky). Probably. I will decide later.



Hopefully we can vote. Seeing the trend from last May, we have one month of voted swishy and another month of preset swishy, this one should a votable one. Unless admins have a change of plan from the trend...

I feel like they're going to be available through some exploration, but it would make sense for them to also be available through Prize+. I don't see why there are items (namely Dark and Light Stone) that can't be obtained by normal means. And I would rather have the legendary explorations that we're missing than these items to be honest. :/

First week back at uni is officially over! (yay four day weekend ) The first week of semester is always really easy because a lot of the classes don't start until the second week. Yay for warning notices! *happy dances* And yay that my fellow GPXers were spot on which allowed me to venture into this quest, task, exploration thingy (raise your hand if you know what I'm channeling there). I only have three, well, four if you count the "You've completed this exploration!" step, tasks left so I should definitely finish it up today and begin a new monthly explore shortly thereafter.

In regards to the SWSH... I'm with eevee64 on the voting. It doesn't matter to me what we have to hunt because they're normally a Pokemon I need in shiny form anyways. But if we do get to vote, I'm fine with "taking requests" and I can throw my vote to where its needed. *nods emphatically*

As for the Prize+ getting up there... *happy dances*. Like most others I'm hoping the Shears and DNA Splicers will be in there. If not, I'm also of the same opinion as SilverPT. I'm sure there will be an explore for those items; it's just a matter of... have they already hired out a writer with direction and an artist to draft the explore or are they needing someone to do that? Hopefully its the former and not the latter. I'd also like to see an exploration (since you mentioned them, SilverPT) for Phione as well. After all, running into that egg in the Lab is so. Much. Worse. Than work. Yeah, I know. It's a bred egg, but still. I love for explores (have I told you all that yet?) *smirk*

I don't know why but I am getting lazier with explorations now. Especially with the pokemon collection task. Hopefully I'll get over it.

Well, I need the Prize+ to grab one or two Mistilil vouchers to aide my shiny hunt a bit. Though my daycare is breeding fine, but hey, I might get lucky. I really want DNA Splicer and Shears in the shop at least during Prize Plus. Though another regular method will be really welcome. Like exploration. I'd really do an overbeat exploration like Through the Looking Glass for some DNA Splicers, for sure. Plus, I agree with SilverPT and hope along that rare evo item has a dashing entry to the prize shop. As for Phione, I think it's found expansively in the shelter sometimes. I mean really, I've seen them a lot. Especially around water hunts. If we have a Phione exploration, it will be unfair to the other rare/uncommon/common pokemon.

By the way, I just saw a person named Birdinator and wondered if that person is related to you. Or maybe just a little coincidence.

Regarding Phione, yeah. I've seen a lot of them in the Shelter, too. Which is why, I'm sure, it'll never have its own explore. But that's ok. I get it. It'll just make my "clean copy" that much more special when I happen upon it. *cuddles idea* I used to have one, but when I returned after an extended "farming" hiatus, I "dropped" all my Pokemon save for the shinies. Had I been thinking, I would have kept my "clean" novelties and the Phione as well. It's always easier to look back on what you did then to realize in the moment what you're about to do, right? LOL

To my knowledge, no. Birdinator is no relative of mine. Could be they came across my user name somewhere and thought "I'd like something like that...." but I dunno. I just remember how rare my user name was before I put it out there. Now? You can find a lot of mamanators out there. If I had the $$, I should've brought the rights and domain to that name. *sigh* Once again, it's easier to look back on what you wanted then to realize the importance of actually doing it. Hopefully Birdinator is a nice person.

Well, Phione is a strange case. Its status as a Mythical Pokémon is disputed, with even official statements often contradicting each other. It can breed eggs (a feature that no other legendary (with the exception of Manaphy) has) but at the same time is banned from most online competitions and online battles as well as Battle Frontier, Battle Maison, Battle Subway and PWT. Then there's evidence from spin-off games that I prefer to exclude because otherwise it would get even more confusing (and the games are considered spin-off for a reason). I'm really hoping for Xernas/Yveltal exploration soon, with Mega Diancie hopefully not too far as well as Hoopa(s).

Ah man! Both a blessing and a curse. In my search for an emperor, I found a fledgling Piplup so I opted to pick it up. What's the harm, right? I can move it to the Walker and quickly level it up to where it needs to be.

Ahhhhhh... nope. PKRS. Can't go to the Walker unless it is cured. Guess I'll see how well that works out for me. If it doesn't move nicely in the party I guess I'll have to cure it and take matters into my own hands. Curse you non-multiplier day! :p

SilverPT, to me Phione is a mythical near legend Pokemon. Those that can't be obtained through normal "wear and tear encounters" certainly deserve a higher ranking in my opinion. That's weird (to me) that it's banned from competition play. I never really considered it as being a super strong Pokemon; perhaps I'm wrong about that? Or, I guess, its banned because they don't know how to classify it? LOL I mean, wasn't it their creation? Shouldn't they be able to say with certainty if its legendary or merely mythical?

As for the X/Y explores... I'm right there with ya! I would not mind seeing those come through, though, I bet, there'll be a lot of hard battling. Ugh! And Hoopa. Yeah. Totally a Hoopa explore. That's a story I want to read!

PS: While searching for my emperor, I found two great Safari screen shots. I'm going to have to bring the saves to the 'net and then add them to that general chat about the Safari pics. LOL

I've never quite understood how Pokerus works on this site. I've had a couple Pokemon with it, but it sure didn't enlighten my experience any.

I too would like to see some X/Y explorations. Although I'm terribly slow at explorations in general :P

It's not strong at all, at least for that kind of competitions. It's the "legendary" with worst BST (480) if I'm not mistaken. And yeah, that's what's dumb about it. It's their creation, they should have clarified that a long time ago. It's bad enough that the anime and the main games contradict themselves, we don't need the games do it as well.

Sofia@ It increases maturity gained from interactions and views. It lasts 3 days, during which it can be passed to any other 'mon in another user's party or you can cure it with Antidote. Oh, and while infected, you can't take it out of your party.

Got a Love Flag from the Kyurem I got from my LVP. Still no shiny Kyurem after 21 eggs and 20 recorded -sob-
But it means I'm all caught up on Novelties again and all I have left to do is get the rest of the Arceus.

So. The question becomes. How much time is way too much time spent trolling the Safari in search of golden fishies? Answer? 1 hr 45 min.

If this experience has taught me anything it has taught me that no. The system does not want me to see any shiny Pokemon in the Safari. Sure. They're probably there, dancing on the page for me, but the school of fish (and literally, I mean I saw schools of Magikarp!) I saw were all 100% identical to the ones before it.

But! I figured, what the haystack. Maybe, just maybe. As it turns out, SilverPT, I did catch one of your fish sticks. Only, it lost its luster. It was a basic and not a shiny. A part of me is mocking myself saying that, because I caught it, I scared the coloring right out of it. LOL Anything to make us feel better, right?

I see that at least one of your shiny fishies found their new forever aquarium. Nice! I seem to be using the wrong bait so, after nearly 2 hours of fishing for them, I'm done. This colossal amount of time has come to an end with me being ever so certain that I'm destined to never find a shiny in the Safari. So I'm going to find something else to throw in that last spot so I can hopefully try for a later event egg.

It was (kind of) fun watching all the legendaries go and hopefully, if there are 3 more shinies left, their new owners will be happy with the awesome catch of the day. As for me, I kind of feel like Magikarp using Splash. Yuh-huh. Just like that. Ugh.

So... when you hear there is a shiny in the Safari... how long do you stick around to vie for it? Me? About 1 hr 55 min tops.

If you've been active some time during the past 2 weeks, you do have a chance of receiving an egg. You just have to keep a slot open in your party and you might receive one. You don't have to worry about signing up for anything or doing a certain thing.

Aurorae are now completely random and don't appear when the counter fills up (or else we'd be having them every other day!).

I got the Mewtwo this month. Saves me having to do that exploration again. And it's better than last month, when I got nothing

I hope Prize+ fills up. I want to see if DNA Splicers will pop up... I'm having no luck finding them in the Backroom.

Ohhh. I laughed a bit when I saw that someone had grabbed a regular Magikarp, but that's so unlucky! At the moment there are 3 Manaphy and 2 shiny Magikarp there. So, if you want to try your luck again...

Usually I don't stay too much on the Shelter. In fact, I miss almost all the drops. I only stay there if someone dropped a novelty that I don't have.

And the last time we had aurora weather was on January 14.

Whoops, thought I filled by party with Skrelp eggs but it seems I only had 5 Pokemon. I ended up getting a Mewtwo egg, it saves me the trouble of doing the exploration. I hope that the mystery egg isn't a new novelty, I might be a wee bit annoyed. It took ages to get a Snowman Munchlax so if it IS a new Novelty I hope it's easy to catch this time around. Thanks for the egg though, I could have ended up with nothing so I won't complain .

Well I had to come into work early, again . One of my coworkers always seems to be 'sick' every week so of course I had to cover her shift. She's 'supposed' to be acting manager when the manager and assistant manager are out, doesn't look very professional calling in sick once a week.

I hope they released GSC on Virtual Console, they were one of my favourite games. I'd love to be able to play again, too bad I don't own the games anymore. It would be nice to hunt shinies on the old games instead of the new ones.

I need to get Pokemon Bank at some point, I guess now is a good time. I'll wait until October though as I'd basically be using it to transfer Pokemon from Black/White to XY/ORAS then to Moon/Sun along with what I have on Yellow that I want to keep

@Mamanator: it's really hard to see shiny in the safari. If you know in advance that there is a shiny drop, that can help, but whereas that, it's only a question of chance to be here at the good time. What I do is that I try to only focus on the shiny color and not the shape of the pokemon, in that case I'm not disturbed by the normal shapes. For example, take the shiny magikarp: it's gold, I only focus on gold (my it's so gold digger haha) and not magikarps.
It works sometimes! Check also how many people are on shelter/safari, just to see if you risk to be confronted by NINJAS. I don't know HOW THEY DO THIS if they got a NASA internet connexion but they are fast as the Flash. xD

Does anyone else hate going to class and finding out you could have just stayed home if not for attendance? I'm having one of those days now, we're supposed to finish work that I thought was due at the beginning of class so it's already done, and I have a free day. I blow-dried my hair for this, I could have just stayed home and napped instead. And go figure, half the class didn't show up and the guy who sits next to me, or my "study buddy" as my teacher puts it (we're all supposed to help each other out with stuff) has been gone for the last three weeks anyway.

AAAAAND the teacher just asked us what "lmao" means. XD

In better news, I finally have an eye appointment set up! My glasses have been missing their nosepad for several months and we were just waiting on the money to get me contacts instead. We've had the money for a while, and I've been having a pretty bad allergic reaction to the metal, but my husband only JUST called to set up an appointment today when he saw the side of my nose bleeding. I would have done it myself but our only phone is his cell phone and he works during office hours so there was no way for me to call. So next Tuesday, if I'm lucky, I'll be coming home with contacts! Yay!

There are several videos by now on Youtube with step by step tutorials. And honestly there's only one step that's a bit difficult because you've to get the timing right. Other than that it's pretty straightforward.

Prize+ is full already? Oh wait.... so it's gonna be January all the way, many people got credits from Scratch Card so there's gonna be loads of multiplier before swishy. Honestly, after the coin event I've got myself a new phobia of multipliers. I know it's odd, but still I'm scared whenever a plus is filled.

And I just noticed I've been harbouring some Badge achievement pokemons since January. I totally forgot about them until I started sorting my PC now. I guess I need a new box concerning only them.

Oh and the hopes of DNA Splicers and Shears are still alive and kicking.

And I am endlessly thrilled that the glitch for getting mew still works. I did get one last month in the distribution, but my nephew missed out. Now he can catch one (and I can catch an extra).

One question about the bank: since you can only transfer pokemon between your own games through it, when you transfer one between games, does it show you as the owner in the new game, or does it show as a traded pokemon? I know the pokemon that evolve by trading won't evolve through the bank, but I wonder about them obeying. Although I suppose that'd be a bit unfair to start Sun/Moon with a lvl 100 team...

When it restocks next in the shop, I am totally doling out some PP to get more of them. And, of course, there's Prize+ so my earnestly earned PP is finally gaining an opportunity to be spent. But hey, that's what PP are meant for - spending.

So, I currently have a 121 IV Shuckle in the weekly hunt. {It's one I already have the Plate for, so no need for Rank 1.} But I'm still looking anyway, in an attempt to get more points for the Rank 1. Will the 121 at least rank somewhere? ANYWAY! While I was hatching, I ended up getting a shiny Carbink. Bad IVs, so I'm not switching the Shuckle out, but still.

Hmm. So, for the Regis-PokeBank thing, are you able to get all of them? Just one?

High action-packed detective drama going on at my house as our terrace (which has the kitchen) is locked and my mother's phone is gone. After a vigorous search throughout our house, we came to the conclusion, that we didn't misplace the key and the phone (since it said the number is currently unavailable) and someone has done it. We have block the number, so it isn't mis-utilized and cops are informed. Honestly, we suspect our neighbours who are really hate us because our house is getting better than their. Talk about jealousy! I am really feeling mad now.

Well, I got the Mewtwo. I'm pretty okay with that because I didn't really want to do that exploration again for the other Mega evo.

Good news is that I've been feeling a lot better lately. All this stress from work and family issues is slowly being lifted. The support I'm getting about the family thing is a plus as well. Time to make this month mine to enjoy.

That task from Jirachi made me realize how few Heart Scales I had. I was down to my last two after I dropped all the Pichu. I was able to buy more, but I've got to remember not to use them so carelessly.

I'm guessing as of now, the shears and the DNA Splicers can only be obtained through the Scratch Cards, unless some random RNG event like the Mega Stone distributions were to happen one day.

There was a lot less to figure out, they had me shadow another waitress. But man, my feet were screaming during the last hour. I immediately went and got some shoe soles right after work, and I can tell that they're going to be a big help. Right now I am icing my feet and keeping them raised. I hope that if I get pregnant however many years down the line, my feet don't hurt as bad as this.

I was going through the GPX Wikia and I stumbled upon this:

Which means, Special Evo items (namely Reveal Glass, Dreident, Light/Dark Stone, Splicers, Shears) has some chance to appear in the Prize shop someday. However, it will be difficult to trust the wikia completely as it might just be a user's idea and nothing more. Still this enlivens the hopes.

Anyway, I can't see the logic in alienate the majority of the community and not include Shears, DNA Splicers and, since we're at it, Light/Dark Stones in the Prize Shop. Isn't literally every other item (with the exception of Plates, Big Pearl, Black/White Token, Reveal Glass and the others mentioned beforehand) awarded in Explorations/Events available on the Prize Shop? Aren't Light/Dark Stones, Shears and DNA Splicers considered prizes? Weren't they offered as PRIZES via Scratch Cards and SWSH? Even if you want to save them as exploration prizes, it still doesn't make sense. One thing doesn't prevent the other and it's not like people will give 75 Prize Points for one unit of Shears/DNA Splicers and skip the exploration.

Storskarfen - I know how that feels. When I first started working again, I went from being on my feet for maybe a couple hours to being on my feet for ten hours or more at a stretch. I had major pains in my back and knees for a while. But that'll go away as your muscles adapt to it.

Also - man, I keep forgetting the weekly hunts. I don't know why.

I know it isn't funny to most... but last night, before the new GPX "day" began, I started to think about how we all hoped and wanted to see the DNA Splicer and Shears available in the Prize Shop. Then, I began to think about how the Prize Shop would only show us items that have previously been on sale and made available through the Prize Shop. Seeing as how those two items were so new, I began to think: hm. I bet they won't be in the Prize Shop since they've never been in there before.

And today I awake to see that yeah, that's exactly what happened. It made me smile (painfully, but a smile/smirk all the same). I'm still grateful for the multiplier that comes with the Prize Point Plus days, but am sorry that what we hoped didn't come to pass. I'm sure that doesn't mean that they won't find their way into the Prize Shop at some point... just not right away. Oh. And I was also thinking... it'd be nice if, for these item explorations, we could have an exploration for the scissors (or whatever it is) that trim the Furfrous. Currently they're only available by winning x amount of battles in the Subway. Right? So for those of us who reek at battles that's a dream that will never come to pass (unless someone sells theirs in the back of the shop and we happen to see them and get lucky enough to purchase them). So yeah, explorations, explorations, explorations. That would be my GPX dream push. Explorations for items that are otherwise hard to come by and those legendaries we hope to get a hold of. Yeah. That's my exploration wish for GPX.

Today I am looking forward to receiving my "clean cut" Slime Slugma. If that isn't your dream then don't forget to fill your party. I won't be offended if you don't want it, but if you do... join me by keeping a slot open later! *cheers* I just need to remember to keep just the one open since that first mystery egg has me baffled and I am excited to see what it will be. Sorry to hear about the sore feet and long days on them, Storskarfen. I never waitressed, but I do recall being a cashier/counter girl at a bakery. Even when we had our 15 minute lunch break in the back, there was no place to sit down because the back was all about the bakers and such. I know that isn't an apples to apples comparison, but I do feel for you. I hope the soles work well for you today. Hopefully, since you had an awesome Day 2, and they all seem to like you, you'll be given longer down times between shifts. It seems outrageous to not offer you a full 12 hours off to R&R in between work days. So... good luck!

To the best of my knowledge, you can't sell them. They can only be won. Which is why I STILL don't have any, even though I have Furfrou waiting to be trimmed.

With Prize+, the Prize Shop shows items that have previously been awarded for some particular event/SWSH or were time-limited. It doesn't have to do with previously been on sale or not. Which again, doesn't make sense to NOT have them on sale because one could argue that both Light and Dark Stone were time-limited when they were awarded via SWSH (March 2013 and 2014). And the same happens with Scratch Cards, which were time-limited to December and February.

And you can't sell the Combs that make Furfrou change forms (just like you can't sell Cosplay boxes or Flags).

Well, it's true. 75 PP for Dreidel - okay, Light/Dark Stone - Quite high but Splicer/Shear - way too much. Especially splicers, since it has extremely multiple uses (2 Kyurems + 49 Mega evos). I agree Light/Dark stones were SWSH prizes and oddly, I have a hunch (and I hope I'm proven wrong) that Splicers will be this SWSH's prize. And I think it's long since Dark/Light stones were released, so it's really late if they had them as exploration prize from the beginning. I hope there's some turnaround in this arena at least.




That's tough. :/ I've had this problem before, but I was a student who had to sit all day through, so it wasn't an issue at all. Well, they have to fulfill your break request on humanitarian background, plus, since, you're doing a good job, they shouldn't decline. Honestly, rest is what will heal you. (But again don't just take this advice too seriously, that "Dr" title is a fake one. At least, for now.)

Why is it too high? They can all be fit in one category: form changing (Shears) or evolving a mon (Dreidel, Light/Dark Stone, DNA Splicers). It doesn't have to do with how useful it can be. I can't see the price of Blue Stone and Snowball on the Prize Shop because I already have 2, but aren't they the same price? Or even Mismagius Grimoire. If so, you can get an x amount of 'mons from one and a different x amount of 'mons from the other.

Shears certainly seem like an item that should rotate through the Prize Shop. (They also seem like a Rare Evolution Item rather than a Special one, but who knows the difference between those, anyway?) The Dark Stone, Light Stone and DNA Splicers I feel would be better suited to an exploration, especially seeing as they are all linked to Kyurem. Splicers should definitely be easier (or, possible?) to obtain, with such a wide range of Pokémon they can be used upon.
I don't think Scratch Cards should be made available except as rewards for events like the Coin ones (though not necessarily always through Coins events), though.

True. :/ All rare evo items have same price and hence it makes sense to have all special evo item at same price. And I don't think the price of Dreidel will lower at all. Plus, Slowpoke tail is also a special evo item. At 200,000 points and taking Star Piece as the conversion rate, 4 PP = 4900 (Selling) points = 9800 (buying) points, 1 PP equals 2450 points or 200,000 points equal approx 82 PP which is also pretty high. Considering the regular method a "shady market", we can presume even slowpoke tail at 75 PP. So it flats out there. Or in short the rest of them should also be at 75 PP, logically. So I get what you're trying to say. It's flat out 75 PP, no matter what, if it ever makes an entry to the Prize shop.

EDIT: @Cycloneblaze Scratch are really special things which give almost every item which isn't an account upgrade or semi account upgrade (I call all those non-vanishable after using stuff like Mega stones this). So to give out Scratch Card in non-special events will actually make the worth of it lower. Especially considering how hard-earned they were last time.

Also, I think at least Shear (not splicer) should have been a part of the Prize+. Like Dreident which creates a novelty released specifically after a coin event, Shears also creates such a novelty. So they are alike in that sense at least.

I don't know why everyone seems to be up in arms over the fact that some items aren't appearing because of the Prize+. It takes time to code things, the admins probably did the best they could considering there was a time limit on when prizes could be distributed (would you have rather waited until the end of this month for prizes so codes for putting them in the Prize Shop could be implemented?). We also know that they are working on several features of the site, including refining the Trinkets page and the inventory. We don't know what's going on behind the scenes, so chill out. I'm sure all of the items will be made commonly available eventually, but all of the site's needs can't be met at once. For all we know, there are explorations in the works for the Dark/Light Stones, Shears, and Splicers right now, they're just not complete and as such can't be released yet. Doing stuff on the site takes time. So we need to be patient.

Yes, I agree. They're a perfectly fine reward for the Coin event and I think it should stay that way. Having exclusive prizes on that? No. First, because other than Light/Dark Stone, there's not another exclusive item. Second, because the event is not a recurrent thing. Third, if the event DOES become a bi-monthly event, it won't only ruin the magic on the event itself (every two months ~10 people get shiny legendaries) as well as people will quickly get tired of it because how tiresome and competitive the event is.

Yes, it takes time. And that's what why planning exists. I doubt this was something thought and made in 5 minutes (especially taking in account that spriting the items and sketching the Scratch Cards takes time). We had a whole month to grab coins and making Light/Dark Stone available in the Prize Shop is a recurrent conversation by now. So, it means that the staff had time to think about it. And I'm not trying to bash on anyone's work, but if it takes time to code, sprite and whatnot, they can always postpone it. It was what happened in December with Scratch Cards and possibly with achievements. And I don't mind that. If they need more time, I'm perfectly okay with it. I prefer having something complete and that all users are able to get than something that completely alienated the community (gaming-wise). Last time I checked, less than 80 people had the new Mareep novelty (for example). Supposedly we had more than 4000 participating on the Coin event. Even if you extract the number of people that got a decent amount of coins, it's still a small percentage. Heck, even if you have in account the daily number of people online, it's still small. Again, even if they want to make turn this into a exploration reward, one thing would not harm the other. People won't skip the exploration just because they can spend 75 PP (which is a rather big amount of PP).
