Is it true, that most of the online users are just bots and only very few actual people playing this game?
I am just wondereing, if i am alone? Does anybody else play this game anymore? Or is it dead? --------------------    |

That's not true at all. "Users online" should be all actual people. (As I understand it, the staff have measures in place to detect and ban bots, although I may be wrong about that.)
A factoid that may be the source of your confusion is that "Guests online" are mostly not actual people, it refers to instances where people's Pokemon are accruing views via image links posted in forum signatures and things like that. --------------------  |

This game is still going strong and is functionally, visually, and mechanically superior to certain other similar sites, in my very biased opinion.  I think what people really need to understand is that while it's still going strong, it has a diminished population and exists on a very small server. Nick, the sole remaining developer, is also about to be a father and has a full-time job. GPX may slowly fade away, and it can certainly never become something truly big, but you can help it keep itself afloat by donating to server costs. I think it's a wonderful testament to this game's strength that this game still remains afloat, 6 years after it was "frozen," despite Nick's admission that the code of the website is extremely messy and despite how much slower the game is than it was during peak activity.
